Encens Sacré

This smells exactly like an orthodox church combined with mastic water and it has eternal longevity as well on my skin. I love it but not all people will appreciate it.

I would say its the sexiest incense fragrance i have smelled,the dry down is super alluring,super masculine,really high quality

A bit of a letdown. Mostly dark smoky bitter vetiver, and then some incense. The jasmine and other florals are here for the technical reasons - to make it lighter, more airy. There’s something like spruce, cedar, and/or juniper? Cypress? Lots of bitter dark patchouli. It lacks its own character - it’s just incense centered and that’s it - and it’s not even incense forward doing it. Unisex, lasting, moderate

This is a very hot incense fragrance. Dark and smoky, just like I want it to be. Love it!

This is an interesting one but I am still trying to decide if it’s purely a work of art or something wearable too. Encens Sacré smells, to me, like wet bakhoor: fragrant wood chips or dust soaked in floral essences, resins, herbs and spices, and burned over charcoal to emit a perfumed smoke. It is used primarily in West Asia and across the Muslim world to scent clothing and open spaces, and there are many classic scent profiles although agarwood, sandalwood, rose, jasmine and amber are the most prominent ones. Encens Sacré opens with a sharp green resinous note and smoke, precisely how frankincense smells when it hits hot charcoal. It is such a realistic olfactory capture. The rose then begins to bloom, again, unmistakably Asian in its makeup like low quality incense sticks dipped in synthetic rose fragrance. It’s not too obvious but adds an exotic sweetness to the smoke and astringent frankincense. Supporting all of this is a clean and familiar musk in the dry down, a rosy, smoky Narciso Rodriguez (this actually reminds me quite a bit of Narciso Rodriguez for Him, which I used to find dry, chalky, and sort of petrichor-like from the patchouli and violet). The burning frankincense is noticeable throughout the lifetime of the fragrance. Incens Sacré has great longevity, lasting on clothes for well over 12 hours, but the sillage is sensible considering what a polarising scent this can be. I feel that for the demographic who are already familiar with with the ritual of perfuming oneself with incense smoke, this fragrance smells far too literal; it is genuinely the smell of perfumed smoke and burning charcoal on your skin and clothes. For a western market, I’m not sure they would get this or even want to smell like, as someone has stated below, a shisha bar.

It is not as bad as I thought it would be after reading the reviews... But still, I think the earthiness of patchouli adds some ashtray undertones to the incense, and I don't enjoy it. The incense itself is quite smoky. This is not a church type of incense scent, unfortunately, as I prefer the church-y scents.

One of my least favorite incense perfumes that I've smelled, and I consider myself to be an avid fan and seeker of incense fragrances. This one opens hard on the hashish-hookah bar. Upon the first spray, I was transported to worn burgundy carpets trampled by leather shoes and sprinkled with hookah ash. Very dark, smokey, almost alcoholic somehow, but not in the austere, cold religious way, which is what I prefer. This is smokey and ashy in the high traffic, loud, abrasive, party way. Definitely masculine, bordering on the perverted and raunchy. Not in a sexy way, but in the over-used, bloated, maybe 50 year old with a potbelly way.

Un encens 'occidentale' très léger qui dure pas plus de 5 minutes à l'ouverture et puis après plus rien... Mais vraiment le néant totale, je suis étonné de la part de la maison Perris , toutes leurs références ne se valent pas. Très décevant

Hmm. This is unlike any other incense fragrance I have ever tried. I actually don’t recognize it as incense. Although it is incense adjacent. I also don’t get any of the listed notes. This is an unusual smoky, cousin of incense fragrance with a touch of fresh cut lumber thrown in, and every once in a while I am reminded of celery seed and Demi glacé of all things. There is definitely a beefy edge to this and I don’t mean strong or bold I am talking about beef stock. The jury is still out on this one when it comes to how it smells but as always, if it is Perris Monte Carlo and it comes in a black and gold bottle you will get your money’s worth when it comes to performance. I am at 13.5 hours and counting. In the end I keep comparing this to encens suave, which is my all time favorite incense fragrance. It has a sweet component that the PMC product is missing which I think it needs. This one feels a little incomplete to me.

Smells like straight up soil. Earthy and a little ashy. No thanks.
