Mimosa Tanneron

Who missed the scent of spring bloom? Just 24 km from Cannes, in France, there is a lovely place called Tanneron, where every year the inhabitants of the city organize a festival, in the month of February, dedicated to mimosa. Yes, the very fluffy beauty that we are used to seeing on March 8th, well known as International Women’s Day. Tourist routes are described along the southern coast of France, accurate to local attractions and local mimosa nurseries. There is something to strive for after quarantine. Even as a girl, I made a herbarium out of mimosa for my collection. Mimosa leaves have an amazing ability to shrink at any touch, and surprisingly, they have nothing to do with the mimosa to which we are used to. This tree has pink fluffy peduncles, and our yellow beauty has a completely different name - silver acacia. In California we have another species of acacia, Acacia pycnantha, which was brought in by immigrants from Australia. This plant has adapted well to temperature changes from a hot, sultry climate to the first frost. In Los Gatos, California, there is Vasona Park, where you can find another species of acacia, blackwood acacia, which blooms along local waters in early spring. Photo enthusiasts are literally looking for a yellow cascade of bloom for their clients. This bloom attracts a lot of bees and if you come closer you can literally drown in this bright, fluffy honey whirlpool. The fragrance was created in 2020 by the legendary Jean-Claude Ellena, who already has 116 masterly performed compositions behind him. The scent of mimosa is a rather complex accord, which not all perfumers can handle, in order to keep all the components of the composition in harmony, not only experience is needed, but also a sense of balance. This sophisticated and completely non-flashy scent opens up new facets without a lethal trail. Very beautiful floral-powdery scale with notes of mimosa, hawthorn and rose. Balanced white musk lends a special charm to the base of the palette. For me this calm scent is a real discovery this year. The sweetness that remains after application makes you come back for that sip of freshness from the spring bloom. I catch myself on an involuntary smile. It opens up very nicely in cool weather. Definitely to wear in Spring. The bottle itself is made in tinted, heavy glass with gold trim. This fragrance is worth such an expensive frame. I really love powdery fragrances, and I will definitely order a full bottle for myself.

As a country gal at heart because I grew up in the country this perfume reminds me of it in a way that no other perfume has come close to doing and I am so glad I blind bought a FB. The initial salvo of this fragrance is rose but that fades rather quickly. As the fragrance progresses yellow floral abound, their presence is felt so strongly that you could swear you are inhaling their pollen instead of a perfume. This perfume is a walk outdoors in the countryside. Just ahead their is country roadside with hawthorn blooming. Their dirty and dusty fragrance mingles with the yellow pollen of the mimosa and creates the smell of fields of freshly mown alfalfa and clover drying in the sun. Minty nuances tingle the nose and refresh the senses and encourages you to progress forward on this glorious discovery of the peaceful Hamlet that is nature. Ah,the rose reappears, she was never gone just hiding for a bit. Letting the other flowers, hay and the tingling sensation of the sun on your skin shine for awhile. But rose never goes unnoticed for long. This perfume is an oasis of calm in a chaotic world. Why? Because it smells like nature, it smells like memories of a simpler and happier time. As Paul McCartney sang Oh, I believe in yesterday. Leans feminine but a floral a man could wear if so inclined. In fact I would love this on a man.

Going into a niche store where they had amongst other niche brands Perris Monte Carlo’s creations, Mimosa Tanneron was the scent I was most excited and eager to test and love. I remember seeing this recommended on YT for mimosa lovers. But it left me wanting more... Not the scent itself, it is a glorious and sweet, honeyed mimosa and hawthorn with rose flower added into the mix, but the performance. Smells natural and realistic, pure sunshine bottled, but it is underwhelming in the performance aspects. Not sure why, but possibly because but it’s only having some musk combined with the floral notes. Maybe it would have been better if there would be some woods around florals to give it more depth and a better performance. Some note that would not change the gorgeous smell but enhance performance. Maybe the fact that the sales associate recommended me to sample Patchouli Nosy Be when she saw my disappointment didn’t help either. Compared to Mimosa Tanneron, Patchouli is a beast... Nonetheless, this isn’t the one (mimosa) for me. I will keep looking.

Mimosa Tanneron is triggering a complete sensory picture. It doesn’t just give you a smell—it gives you an image and a feeling. It feels like stepping out of a cold shadow and into a pool of warm spring sunlight. Like standing under a mimosa tree while the flowers glow softly above you. When I wear it, I see yellow—tiny yellow blossoms shimmering in the light. It feels like liquid sunshine. Mimosa Tanneron is the kind of fragrance people keep for years, because every time they smell it, it recreates the same small moment of joy. The fact that I can still smell it clearly after more than 13 hours—and that it still produces that vivid image of yellow flowers—suggests that this perfume has found a very natural resonance with both my skin chemistry and my sensory imagination. My holy grail mimosa fragrance, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Mimosa Pour Moi, was sadly discontinued. It was a beloved airy, ozonic mimosa—now a rare, hard-to-find gem. At last, I feel like I’ve found a worthy successor.

Jean-Claude Ellena and mimosa are a match made in heaven. This necatarous and polleniferous sunbeam of a flower is perfectly suited for Ellena's aquarelle approach to perfume. It has a placid realism, down to the green stems from which the inflorescences rupture into the light. An adjacent intonation of pungently anisic hawthorn is the only other role in this pageant—it is otherwise a mimosa soliflore in all its honeyed and fuzzy splendor. It susurrates as if a breeze shifts through the boughs of a mimosa tree, sweetly whispering, shedding dew drops after a light rain, only moderately powdery and oily. It winds down within a pool of creamy musk, delicately caressing the senses. Do not expect big and reverberant: this is best appreciated by those who appreciate the silence between the sounds, the spaces in between the lines. I would wear this if I anticipate hugging someone I love.

Perris Monte Carlo continues to impress me with their beautiful portraits of single scents. Mimosa Tanneron is another example. The mimosa here is fresh, green, more "dusty" than "powdery" (I mean it as a good thing). It recalls a sunny day in the early spring, when mimosas fill the fields together with other wild herbs, the air is warm and the soil is slightly dump. It is not an overly sweet fragrance, since the vegetal aspect of the scent balance the sweetness of the flower. It has a classic composition and it is quite linear. It is much fresher and greener than Goutal's Eau de Charlotte. It's bright and light, but present and persistent. The rose that shows up while the scent dries down is second fiddle to the mimosa and doesn't disturb the picture; it is a dewy, just blossomed rose. This is a little masterpiece made with the humblest of flowers.

As a huge mimosa lover, I really adore & love Mimosa Tanneron. She's linear, but the quality & smoothness is off the charts good. This perfume is so elegant and timeless, definitely a great option for a signature scent. Not only is she elegant, but there's a comforting aspect here. If I had children I'd wear this perfume around them often because it's so nurturing. A great mommy perfume. Classy, simple, elevated, and very feminine. This is the third Perris Monte Carlo I tried and I'm really getting high quality ingredients & impeccable smoothness from this house. Makes me want to dive right in and collect all of them (I hardly ever say that about any perfume house, so that's really saying something). Really great stuff happening here.

Captivating. And gorgeous. Mimosa Tanneron is my favorite mimosa dominant perfume to date....in fact, I was never a big fan of this floral, in part because too often this note goes clean and too powdery. The addition of hawthorn is creating some magic here. Just a little dirty, a little powdery and a little sweet—all while smelling fresh and natural. This is not a cosmetic bag, and it’s not a heavy hitter....and I can’t stop sniffing my wrist. What a surprising, delightful thing. Mimosa Tanneron is persistently a light scent, and an instant love. Jean Claude Ellena is working his magic in overtime. If you are a fan of his light touch I recommend getting a sample.

It's hard to do justice to how utterly enchanting this perfume is. It starts out as a bright yellow cloud of sun-warmed mimosa flowers—sweet, honeyed, dusty, dripping with pollen—with hints of grass and hay, then gradually fades into the most gorgeous, lingering petrichor scent. The sillage is quite limited but I like intimate skin scents so that's not a deal breaker for me. The longevity on the other hand is insanely impressive—it lasts a good 16 hours on my skin. I think this is nicest in the spring but it's lasted me all day even on hot, humid summer days, and is like a hug of sunshine in the winter. I'll happily wear this any day of the week, all year round.

One of the best perfumes of my life. How can I explain this gem? imagine you are lying under the yellow flowers of mimosa in a spring evening. The sun is waming your face, the wind is blowing gently to move the bushes and the great scent of mimosa is spreading in space. There is a deep tranquility associated with this wonderful perfume which is created by a legend whose name is Jean-Claude Ellena.💛 It is reminiscent of Kenzo Summer which is sadly discontinued. I am happy that mimosa tanneron is in my collection now. Life is too short and we'd better to enjoy every second of it. 💛🤍💛🤍💛

Bright mimosa, like a dewy sunrise. I find this to be way more unisex than other mimosa fragrances, also a little fresher. It’s the most natural smelling mimosa fragrance I know of. Like morning dew on flowers and leaves evaporating in a ray of sunlight. Only minus is that it doesn’t project much and only last a few hours. I don’t consider it worth the high price tag, as I have many similar fragrances (Prada, Jo Malone, Fragonard, Le Couvent). These are sweeter and more powdery, project better and last longer.

Sweet heliotropin goodness. Instant love for me. My favorite aspect of Caron Farnesiana is its distinct heliotropin note, but you have to dig past the dusty hay and pollen notes to get to it (so I do see their similarity in that regard). Mimosa Tanneron is a sweet floral heliotrope note, and not much else. It’s linear and way too short lived, but showcases my absolute favorite facet of the mimosa flower. A slightly more dewy, less powdery take. This is my Goldilocks mimosa perfume.

This is a highly realistic mimosa. I have been to the mimosa forest in Tanneron and this fragrance brings back great memories. I was on a long quest looking for the perfect natural mimosa. Many other fragrances I tested were too sharp and almost pissy. Some mixed mimosa with other strong flowers and put it in the background. Here the mimosa is the absolute star. It is so fluffy and comforting. It captures the true airy nature of the flower beautifully.

It is as of the trees of yellow flowers are raining down their scent upon you. the sunny golden heart of mimosa is captured in the slightly sweet slightly animalic hawthorn and set on a base of white musks to capture the cool wind rushing down the Massif from the high. It gives an airiness to the overall composition and highlight the most beautiful mimmosa extract ever tested. The new mimosa milestone

This smells like a dewy flower still on the stem in a morning forest. Very beautiful, feminine, relaxing, easy to the nose. My young children like the smell of it despite the fact that they hate perfume in general. The powdery salty aspect of it reminds me of FM Eau d'Hiver. I just hope it lasts longer.

Mimosa lovers beware, this is a hidden gem from this house. Such a realistic yellow floral, a bit fuzzy, powdery and so elegant. Yes a comforting mimosa scent, linear true but a very good one if you are looking for a great yellow floral frag. For me, it is FBW! Good lasting power, moderate sillage!

Isn't too strong yet lasts whole day and then some. Perfectly realistic mimosa, way, WAY more than Ray-Flection by Masque. But it is even nicer than the flower itself, it's maybe a bit harsh when you spray it but within several minutes it becomes a gentle musky scent.

I usually favor sweet, vanilla and spicy perfumes but this one is so gorgeous. Perfumes are extremely hard to describe using words, but this one is light and happy with enough complexity to make it unique and special. I'm strongly considering buying this one!

This is very realistic huge yellow mimosa in its natural habitat. Floral sweet, fluffy, wonderful and overwhelming. But also dur to its naturalness, it feels very seasonal, great for February and March, but impossible in fall.

a beautiful sweet floral.. almost candy sweet but not quite..I don't get hay at all... it's more like sweet nectar and a tiny bit of Devon violets. One of my favourite finds of 2020 and beautiful on a sunny day.
