Musk Extreme

Simple scent, simple review... I wear this always when I want to calm down. This is comfortable, soft, cozy, baby powdery musk with Iris and Vanilla. It’s anyway somehow classy as well when paired with totally light beige or white clothes. I even feel self confident when wearing this and white or light beige clothes. With this perfume, the color is everything. With black clothes it’s just some boring baby powder. It's great scent when worn after a shower as well and then it feels like a second skin. I like Ambre Gris | Perris Monte Carlo a lot as well but sometimes, rarely though, that feels too synthetic and cloying. That problem I have never with Musk Extrême. What comes to the notes, I don’t find anything animalic here, just a pleasant sensual musk but I have to mention that I love very animalic and dirty scents so my range is wide. To my nose, this is not spicy either. This is good scent especially if thinking the price but the texture is a bit rough compared with more expensive perfumes in this genre, like Musc Infini | Ex Nihilo for example. Still Musk Extreme remains one of my favorite musk Vanilla scents. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. What I get is a very soapy, dry musk, polished and perfumed, with a light aldehydic sparkle and plenty of sheer iris giving it a refined air. It feels clean to the point of sterility – perhaps that’s the “extreme” the name refers to. If you’re looking for dirt or warmth, you won’t find it here. This is musk at its most pristine: soapy, slightly aldehydic, scrubbed clean.

Musk is generally obtained for deer glands and i own few essential oils which are very animalist which is how deer musk should smell like however Perris monte carlo musk extreme is more clean musk IMO and its using Muscone which is organic compound of natural musk and mostly used in all Musk perfume. As you spray this perfume you smell tinge of citrus along with good dose of carnation and jasmine. It gives a very powdery feeling now and reminds of my childhood where i used to go to school with good dose of powder to get through the heat of Delhi, this opening will stay for few minutes only and then it moves into musky iris fragrance which is quite classic genre style and suited for matured gentleman. This perfume is quite linear in its development once its comes into dry down and will very good projection and silage. It stays good 10 hours on the skin and as stated that i feel this is suited for person who is above 30 or may be older to rock very well all year along. It’s quite a clean fragrance and some folks may ne anosmic as musk is one note which is not detected by everyone. This may be slow love as at first I was not very pleased when I first tried however I have started to appreciate this more and on some days where I want to smell musky I reach out of this and gives me a nice feeling from my childhood. It retails for 190$ for 100 ML so I would suggest you sample this first and if you looking for cheaper option then musk extreme by alyssa Ashley is good option with exact same note breakdown!(7/10)

I must have a lovely bottle! The scent is gorgeous warm cosy musk. Yes, very similar to Alyssa Ashley (AA) Musk perfume oil (in the long dabber bottle) but Musk Extreme is not soapy on me. I havent tried the AA version of Musc Extreme and if it shares the uncanny resemblance with the Perris version then i can see why the latter will be criticised for being so overpriced. However one thing i must point out is that whilst AA musk is similar, that gives me a headache and Musk Extreme doesnt - which is rare for a musk fragrance as most (including other niches) end up giving me an awful headache. I understand the No 5 without aldehyde comparisons, though Musk Extreme is less in jasmine and its so not extreme in musk! It is a very clean cosy furry animal type scent and far less animalic than Clair de Musc which is the closest i can describe after Alyssa Ashley Musk (for those who havent smelt AA Musk). This happens to be my HG musk scent. Fortunately i received this in a swap and wouldnt purchase this for its close to the skin sillage, but would probably check out the Alyssa Ashley version as an alternative. Pleasant. It's a lightly animalic, sweet carnation + vanilla + musk. I prefer it in the drydown, where the musk feels rounder and more cozy. Personally, not sure I'd buy this just because I find the price hard to justify (if I squint, it's close enough to many other cheaper, equally enjoyable musks) - I have Clair de Musc (sharper and soapier), Original Musk (similar vibes, except Musk Extreme is slightly sweeter), White Musk (Monotheme) which is fairly similar... lovely, cozy, but for 200+ dollars in my country? Soft pass. --- Edit: I went back another day, hoping to give this another shot, but found that this dried down slightly metallic this time.

Everything I’ve tried from Perris Monte Carlo has been enjoyable, and this includes my most recent test run with Musk Extreme. Starts off sharper with florals and citrus, then mellows in the base with vanilla, amber and powder. Only slight animalic vibes with this one. It’s an easy to wear musk scent, though not unique. My favorite musk continues to be L'Air de Rien by Miller Harris, but I also like Papillon’s Salome, Clair de Musc (Serge Lutens), Lorenzo V’s Musk and others more than Musk Extreme— and that is especially true when price is part of the equation. Still a solid musk perfume that I would gladly wear again if I owned it.

"Musk Extreme" is a very easy to like super clean musk + baby powder + Johnson&Johnson baby shampoo. That said - even though it is very crowd pleasing, I can completely agree with others that this is seriously overpriced. It did last 8 hours (and very close to skin anyway), but many cheap ones of this sort (I mean the powdery skin scent ones) do the same. This is the sort of perfume that doesn't bring anything new to the table, it's nice and pleasant, but not worth the price tag nor the title - extreme? Is gentle baby powder really so extreme?

An intimate, nostalgic, dirty musk... The opening carries aldehydic notes blended with rose and jasmine; that’s where the nostalgia lies. The indolic florals lend a faintly dirty nuance, but the true dirtiness comes from another, more animalic musk note that forms the perfume’s beating heart. On skin, it turns sly and sensual; quietly magnetic. I loved it. This is your basic floral, powdery, sweet amber musk with a big opening of citrus. I guess the extreme means extreme citrus. I thought the extreme was more skanny musk. But I must admit the citrus bright opening makes this a good summer musk. I drenched myself with a 2ml vial and the performance was all day.

I'm not a big fan of musk scents (except for Fierce from Abercrombie) but Musk Extreme from PMC is somewhat bearable than others. However, I'm still in the quest to find some fragrance that has mysk as its base note.

A delicious mellow musk-carnation with some Arpège or N°5's inflections. Very far from being basic or boring, it provides beautiful nuances for a long time, absolutely delightful

Edit: this doesn't smell at all bad on skin, but on clothes it doesn't really work for me - it becomes very flat. I wish I hadn't bought this one unsmelt. It smells like a woman 75+. It's the kind of strongly aldehydic perfume that was so popular many decades ago. Strongly resembles Chanel No 5, but a the cheaper version. I want to send it straight to an elderly home so that the ladies there can feel nostalgic, but for me, it doesn't have those nice memories of youth attached. Actually, this also smells somehow similar to a painting studio. I painted a lot as a kid, and all the different kinds of paint created a smell similar to this perfume... such a weird smell to wear...

I feel the smell of aldehydes here are way more prominent than the musk, and the carnation is noticeable. I know there are many kinds of musk, but this smells mainly very soapy, on me at least. Yes, clean and powdery, but mainly soapy. It's in the same category as Chanel No5, or even Ambre by Reminiscence. Honestly, I find scents like these a little dated. They're not bad, but they smell a bit dusty to me - not like a clean powder, but like dry flowers and lint turned into fine dust.

This one smells like the average body lotion that you can find in any store. I actually have some hand cream that smells EXACTLY the same. So if you're a gentleman you want to smell like hand moisturizer and have people think that you've been having some alone fun, wear this.

Dirty laundry musk, floral. After a time the dirty underwear accord dissipates. This reminds me of hairspray

I tried this, thinking, 'it can't be that bad'! But, my gosh, it's awful, I don't understand why anyone would even put this in a bottle to sell, let alone at that insane price and just the awfulness of it!! It's like a musty old cupboard, the inside of a charity shop. A friend of mine would have used the word 'foisty'. Really, no other notes other than a dusty, old 'trampy' musk. The price point is utterly ridiculous, the sillage is bad (thankfully, because it's awful!). The longevity is fleeting. I don't like to write bad reviews, but I do it because the price is SO HIGH and it would be a very expensive mistake for a blind buy, please there are many, many, many better fragrances than this!

Got a sample of this with another perfume purchase. I agree with one of the below comments, it does have a strong hairspray vibe. 80s Hairspray to be more specific. It's a clean sort of musk and definitely rather retro. Not really much projection, but definitely something that will last on your clothes for quite some time. Personally I wouldn't want to wear this alone. I might experiment a bit layering my sample with something brighter. But yeah, I'm completely with most other commenters here, I would not spend that kind of buck on something like this. If this is your jam, a 100% you can find something very similar to this as retro cheapy in your local drugstore.

My least favorite from this house it starts off as a really pleasant/modern floral, musky scent, I get the citrus...it is just the right amount. Extremely feminine at first then tones down very rapidly to a feminine fragrance with a small whimper of masculinity. This then turns very soapy/powdery musk if that's what your into...me not so much. Longevity is outstanding and sits close to the skin for the most part. I recommend sampling this fragrance first. It's just not my style. I prefer smelling this on someone else.

for me this not a masterpiece at all if you wanna add a beautiful and elegant retro style bottle in your collection buy this but if you simply like this stuff go for the alissa ashley white musk its almost identical and very very cheap 5/10

I hate to say this, but there is nothing extreme about this. Its smells just like a generic shampoo or bath soap. I reserve the weekends to try new scents and have just sprayed this one on. I am already regretting it.
