Ylang Ylang Nosy Be

One word: MASTERPIECE!! This was the very DEFINITION of "love at first sniff" for me. I actually do not think I've ever been so instantly IN LOVE with a fragrance before!! I could even tell just sniffing it in the sample bottle... the moment I put it on my skin, like I kid you not, I'd ordered it within 10 minutes. My full (first) full bottle just arrived, and I can tell you this will be a staple in my collection for eternity!! As a lover of Ylang Ylang, this fragrance speaks to me! I ordered SO MANY samples of Ylang Ylang forward fragrances.. Nosy Be was the first one I tried, and I was literally so confident in its glory that I ordered my bottle before sampling all the rest. I have since sniffed the rest, and I was not mistaking in my evaluation!! Probably, if not Nosy Be, BoraBora is the next best bet... but that fragrance has a coconut note, and I am someone who generally prefers my tropicals to be evasive of that coconut note (cheapens the fragrance, to me, in my opinion, you do you)! Was extremely disappointed by Ylang in Gold, as an aside. Nosy Be deserves SO MUCH more hype!! After all my sampling, I really feel that Nosy Be is a hidden gem. Not that nobody knows about it, but just saying I think it deserves to be a lot more hyped than some of the Ylang Ylang forward fragrances that get all of the attention!! Ylang Ylang Nosy Be has the most prominant Ylang Ylang to my nose. That said, I don't find it to be too much, I find it to be beautifully balanced and expertly blended. Like I said, it's a masterpiece! I literally cannot stop smelling myself... lt is so difficult for me not to spray it on myself even working from home (and sometimes I do). This fragrance is beautiful, creamy, RICH... so incredibly gorgeously feminine, in a soft but mature way. I love it, I love it, I love it. I would recommend this fragrance to anyone who would listen!!

i have been in the mood to get into more ylang ylang forward perfumes lately, and i blind bought this.i have never smelled a ylang ylang flower in real life, i have only owned an essential oil (which might as well be fake, it smelled very waxy to me) so i dont know much about the scent profile of the flower. Sure online descriptions can help but they never paint the full picture. tuberose barely smells like the descriptions for example. i was extremely surprised when this smelled like a chypre to me? sure theres no oakmoss but it structurally felt like a modern take of a chypre with an aromatic patchouli esque note. the solar yellow floral aspect is there for sure, but i wouldnt call this a soliflore (which isnt the point of the perfume but still). Can anyone with ylang ylang experience tell me if this could be considered a ylang ylang reference perfume? In the first few seconds after spraying, theres something minty going on. but it doesnt take over and doesnt smell like gum or mouthwash. i normally hate mint in perfume but here its a welcome addition, mainly because it disappears really fast! Then theres a beautiful vanillic sillage. not a playful juvenile vanilla bur a dark and smooth vanilla. the sillage is quite powerful in the first hour and then it settles into a safer sillage (still noticeable but not room filling). Theres still a patchouli note but not a dirty one, an effervescent one. maybe its the labdanum (another note i dont have much isolated experience with). The end result is a balsamic sunny heady intoxicating waxy yellow floral with vanilla. The first hour it smells quite masuline to me, after that it turns feminine.. not mature but young feminine. And im not typically into that, but this smells very interesting and i love it. perfect for a hot summer and honestly really need to walk past a man that wears this

Ylang Ylang is the best supporting actress of the perfume world. It is the Stockard Channing to tuberose's Meryl Streep or jasmine's Olivia Newton-John. Unconventionally attractive, complex and provocative, it rarely is given its own spotlight. In Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, named for the Madagascar island from which the particular ylang ylang used derives, even still relies heavily on vanilla and spice to bring out this mercurial flower's best qualities. It opens luxuriously bright and effulgent, yet creamy and intoxicating. The delicious banana custard facet that I find so appealing is in full glory here, contrasting with the neroli-like, bittersweet top qualities. There is also a touch of warm camphor from an accompanying cardamom. A honey facet grows more prominent further in its development, but this just stops short of feeling gourmand, even with the abundance of vanilla escorting the ylang ylang into the dry down. Other florals and woods shade the experience, especially as it dries down: this is by no means full-on edible. It is heady, but not oppressive. It gives a nod to classics while at the same time forward-looking, which is no small feat. Ylang Ylang Nosy Be isn't simply a character actress, there's far more depth to it than I expected from what I believed to be a flashier, "prestiche" sort of brand. I'd like to give credit to the Ylang Ylang Nez Naturals Notebook for encouraging me to seek out this unsung release.

I love Ylang Ylang Nosy Be! I cannot put into words how much I love this glorious, sunny, solar, creamy scent. It is simply divine! It’s the best ylang ylang fragrance in my collection and my most favourite. It’s an extremely intoxicating yellow and white floral with some rose, citruses, spices, woods and vanilla. But it is mainly an ylang ylang scent. And it is so good, so creamy, so tropical and luxurious smelling. It’s complex, rich, decadent, and powerful, leaving a big trail behind me. Sunshine in a bottle! A must have for anybody who loves this exotic flower! Performance is great, around 7 hours of wear with a strong sillage for the first two hours. For the quality and the exquisite packaging, I don’t think is badly priced at all! It’s not a cheap fragrance but it’s well blended and the performance is great! I need to try more of Perris Monte Carlo, seems like an underrated brand with high quality, natural ingredients! Edit August 2024: I finally got a bottle of Ylang in Gold by Micallef, which is another beautiful, vanillic, ylang ylang scent. Highly rated because of the concentration of ylang ylang. I still consider Ylang Ylang Nose By the best representation of this exotic flower. Don’t think there’s anything better than this if you love this flower!

Overall, I really enjoy this fragrance, but the opening isn’t my favorite. It’s a bright floral citrus with noticeable citrus and cardamom that gives it a sharpness that comes across a little too harsh to my nose. Thankfully, this phase doesn’t last long. As it starts to settle, the fragrance transforms into a beautiful, almost vintage-feeling floral heart. The jasmine, orange blossom, and rose add a soft powdery elegance, but the ylang-ylang is the real star of the show. It stays front and center from the opening all the way through the dry down. Where this fragrance really wins me over is the dry down. The vanilla smooths everything out, creating this warm, beachy ylang-ylang vanilla that feels rich and effortless. I swear I can smell benzoin, even though it’s not listed, because it has that creamy, resinous warmth that I absolutely love. I don’t love the immediate opening, but I love the journey this fragrance takes. It transforms beautifully from a bright, slightly sharp floral into a warm, creamy tropical vanilla that feels elegant rather than sunscreeny. It’s one of those fragrances that keeps getting better the longer you wear it, and that’s exactly why I can see a full bottle in my future.

Ylang Ylang Nosy Be is one of my favorite Ylang fragrances. It's a beautiful combination of solar ylang and sensual vanilla, two precious treasures of Madagascar. The opening of Ylang Ylang Nosy Be instantly takes me on an imaginary trip to the tropics. The intense, slightly medicinal ylang is right there at the beginning, balanced by fresh citruses and warm cardamom. As it dries down, ylang becomes more tamed and alluring. Accompanied by some white florals, the creamy bubblegum sweetness of ylang starts showing more and more. Yet, a watery feel keeps it from getting cloying and remains natural and photorealistic. Smelling this fragrance, I can picture fresh yellow ylang flowers growing and blooming under the sunshine. I particularly love the vanilla used in the base. It's close to natural vanilla absolute, which is deeper and darker. It softens floral parts and makes the composition even more relaxing and addictive. I also get some amber and a hint of woody notes. Overall, It's a seductive yellow floral scent with gourmand touches and vintage elegance. The projection and longevity of Ylang Ylang Nosy Be are both pretty good. I enjoy wearing them on sunny days in summer and fall.

Unlike other Perris' fragrances I own, this is not the solinote composition its name hints. Here the vanilla plays a key role as much as the ylang ylang. The composition is dominated by a non edible- almost boozy vanilla, blended to a stunning Ylang ylang. The flower is sunny, creamy and fatty - thanks to vanilla - not the kind of powdery and sharp retro-like Ylang Ylang (which I love too. The fragrance has an enormous sillage paired with an extraordinary longevity (it last more than 14h on my skin, the time span between morning to the evening shower). The intensity of the fragrance, paired with strong vanilla (which isn't something I usually reach for) initially made the composition outside my confort zone, but I got used to it and now I really enjoy it. Hower, I'm not going to wear it in summer (at least in the hottest days on July and August): no matter what other comment say, for my liking is simply too much (too sweet, to strong, to intense) for Mediterranean summer. I used it in the other tree seasons and I really enjoy it, the way it conveys warmth and sunlight even in the coolest winter day!

This. I don't know where to begin.... IT. IS. JUST. SUBLIME! Raw, and yet smooth. Slightly medicinal, but not unpleasantly. Licoric-y. Creamy. Round. Sensual! Goodness me... I sprayed it gingerly in the air (as I do when unsure as to whether I'd like a scent...) ... and then wham bam!!! Sprung into a spraying frenzy! All over, cover my body with it!!! I want to drown in this forever! Remove clothes, spray every inch of my skin with this unbelievable, superb creation! Can we please make a bust and ode to the master perfumer who came up with this!!!? I mean it! How could anyone not like this, I wonder. The teasing green, bitter initial bite. The smoothing over to licorice, the vanilla hint, the creamy, suave kiss of Ylang at its best. I wear it first thing when I wake up, then I just keep re-spraying throughout the day, to get more and more of that initial blissful blast of paradise! GET A BOTTLE. PS: for all those mentioning urine: guys, your PH isn't working magic with this number. Chemistry here throws such curveball to many and it's a great pity!

My favorite ylang forward scent. Such a gem. So creamy, sweet, and realistic smelling. There is a tartness to this one that I find rather addicting. It's very sexy and the longevity is excellent. The scent stays consistent for a solid 10 hours. I keep getting whiffs of it throughout the day and what I appreciate is that the scent doesn't play any peek-a-boo games with me and change throughout its longevity. It stays fairly consistent throughout the 10 hours I wear it. It's great for layering, especially with Vanilla de Tahiti. Perris Monte Carlo really knows how to make excellent, natural smelling fragrances that have great longevity and for very fair prices. It's obvious that they are using high quality raw materials in their perfumes and aren't skimpy about the doses they give us, either. I highly recommend this line and encourage you to try some of their offerings. I think they do tropical warm weather scents best, but even my Tuberose scent from them is excellent.

Simply, one cannot go wrong with anything on offer from Perris Monte Carlo. Perfect. Directly sourced products, quality notes, and ultimately, wearable perfumes that are not loud and that do not chase you around all day. Slightly sweet. Not suffocating. If you have ever walked through an artisan festival, state fair, farmer's market, or vinyard, there is a dry sweet smell from surrounding fields that mingles with spun sugars, roasted corn, fresh cream, crushed fruit, and lemonade. Somehow, this perfume has that dusky ambiance. Ylang Ylang Nosy Be is full of creamy deluxe nuances without anything artificial upsetting the natural florals. Beautiful. Evening wear of this in humid climates is one of the best parts of my day. The rotting, raw vanilla pod and plantain ethers clinging to these amazing ylang ylang flowers piercing nectar in all directions is unlike anything else in the tropics.

This is a lovely, elegant, sofisticated, non suntanny, non cloying, tropical ylang ylang fragrance. The lemon and grapefruit notes are quite prominent in the beginning, but the ylang ylang is already very present. Then, the citruses become less strong and the creaminess of ylang and vanilla take centre stage, but the whole is never too strong, too sweet or cloying. Everything is really well blended and citrussy freshness, and creamy swetness are perfectly balanced. This perfume is very natural smelling, does not project like crazy and it last a decent time on my skin. I read comments of people saying this is an "old lady", a "grandma" scent... Now, apart from the fact that this is quite of an idiotic concept per se, if your grandmother smells / used to smell like this, well, you should certainly follow her example...

This fragrance features a prominent blend of ylang-ylang and vanilla. Don’t be intimidated by the cardamom, it’s barely noticeable (perfect if that note usually gives you headaches). On clothing it lasts around 8 hours, with an intimate to medium projection, depending on how much you apply. It’s a gentle, calming, and versatile perfume that works well in every season. In essence, it feels like a warm, comforting embrace, carrying a quiet, serene femininity, like a moms hug.

I just got a sample of this and I frickin' LOVE it! It's somewhat reminding me a little bit of Van Cleef & Arpels Orchidèe Vanille. This one is addictive, I keep smelling my arm all the time. It's a soft Ylang Ylang scent accompanied with vanilla to me. It's creamy and tropical feeling, but not too sweet or cloying in any way at all, it still has a freshness and lightness to it. Would be a great summer scent for sure! Can be used any day, but it's not really a night out kinda scent. It does have a moderate projection and wear time, very non offensive. Beautiful bottle, and I think the price is reasonable too. Will probably buy a full size soon!

This is such a lovely perfume! It is very heady and deep. Not a light scent. Ylang Ylang is in the forefront and is blended with a creamy vanilla, and there is a hint of powder. You also get some light white florals in the background as support, but not distinct. I compare it to Psychedelic Love which is also ylang ylang forward, but without the heliotrope to create the almond accord, and no myrrh to make it a little heavier and suitable for cold weather. This is her spring sister. Since I already have an ylang ylang scent I won't be buying this one, but I do think it's worth it.

Still working my way through a collection of ylang ylang-focused samples, so I can’t commit to a favorite just yet, but this is a contender for sure. I love M Micallef Ylang in Gold, but YYNB is more satisfactorily robust on me. JPG Divine is right Up There, too. And Le Labo Ylang 49 is a Top 10 For Life for me, but it’s more chypre than full frontal ylang ylang. This one is a creamy-sweet solar blend. I love the tobacco-esque touch, comforting honey-vanilla backdrop, and ultrasubtle animalic facet. Sultry, sophisticated, luminous, complex, romantic, exotic, and warm. So dreamy.

It's a gorgeously fruity, sweet, tropical fragrance. I usually wear ylang-ylang in fragrances where it's used to sweeten other florals, but here it's front and center. I tend to associate ylang-ylang with a more complex version of bubble gum. It really is the candy of the floral world. Must be worn with confidence, but it is more dimensional and wearable that sheer candy. This fragrance is deliciously sweet and heady, and incredibly sexy. The large projection and fun demeanor makes it most appropriate for nights out on the town, or perhaps a summer holiday.

This could be christened"What do I talk about when I talk about ylang ylang." Sorry Murakami, I know. Full-bodied ylang ylang in all its glamor, grandeur and glitter. Decadently sweet, sensually creamy, uninhibited, happy-go-lucly and also domineering ylang ylang. Nobody can even get close to the spotlight where ylang ylang, narcisistically in love with itself is spinning around, wearing a short skirt swirling up, inviting everyone to dance lambada. No partner but have you ever seen such beautiful solo lambada?

I Ordered last week and till now I hesitated to send back or not. Why? Becouse it is a very comforting scent and I like this style of ylang-ylang, but on my skin it is lasts only 4 hours with projection then will be skinscent for another 4 hours. Then I thougt that it is good enough-I spray twice a day but I want to smell this beauty on myself! It is a green, bitter ylang, not girly but I like it for that!!! It is like a spiritual travelling to an exotic Island. Love!!!

It's hard to describe how much I enjoy this fragrance! Especially on a dark, gloomy fall day. I love the ylang-ylang note, but the flower itself is very intense smelling and can become overwhelmingly heavy and cloying. Thankfully here it's very nicely blended with woody and balsamic notes, yet still shines through beautifully. A perfect cooler weather scent, very warm and comforting. PMC is a new discovery for me, but so far I'm very impressed!

This is a sexy, carnal yellow floral with woody undertones. I get the vanilla and labdanum in the drydown and it gives the frag a deep and rich allure. Clearly for someone who loves more deeper floral, creamy scents. I personally love it, it smells unique, rich and it is not your girlie, banana like ylang ylang. Good lasting power, performs amazing in cold weather as well. Do not blind buy, for me this is FBW.
