Portfolio Green

A light, pretty green, innocuous fragrance from Perry Ellis. I definitely get the green, a sweet floral accord and the tonka bean on the dry down. On my skin the sillage is mild to moderate. It is a well composed perfume, though not signature material for me. Incidentally I sprayed this perfume on myself at the counter a few weeks ago and asked my sister to take a whiff. She was on the fence about it and said the dry down had something she liked/disliked. Lo and behold, when I opened her fragrance cupboard there it was, bought when I was nowhere around! Oh well, the price is unbeatable I guess at 65TT for 100ml. I should hit her a ghost ninja "ha yah" for her hypocrisy. Anyway, I think this one is best for early morning, spring or winter. Stands in my hot climate too. Good perfume for the entire family

I was interested in trying this fragrance because the notes listed below are right up my alley, "a blend of lavender, mandarin, jasmine, musk, black pepper, sandalwood, tonka beans, tobacco, clary sage, orange flower and rosewood", sounded really good! I was hoping that this would be that fragrance "gem" that has been under the radar and is about to go extinct. First spray is pretty rough, no lavender which I was really hoping to smell here, or somewhere in this fragrance but remains totally elusive to my nose. There's something quite bitter and unpleasant in this fragrance at first and I believe it has something to do with the clary sage along with the tonka and the pepper, most unpleasant here. Now if you can stand the top of this fragrance for about 15 mins then you are rewarded with a much better mid and base. Floral and green. The big problem with this scent is that by the time you get past the horrid opening the pleasantness of it is soft, close and fleeting. Longevity and sillage is very poor. Total blind buy fail for me! January 2021 I have been fortunate to purchase only a few, very few fragrances that were fails. This one tops that list. I have rather eclectic tastes and I like a wide variety of fragrances and quirky note combinations so my fragrance tolerances are quite forgiving. But I am sorry to admit that this fragrance is an absolute HATE for me! My first and hopefully last time that I will use the hate option offered here on Fragrantica! I have tried to use this in different weather conditions, as a linen spray, bathroom spray. This isn't even acceptable as that! It's SO sour and off putting to me. I will even say nauseating. UGGH! The other day I sprayed it again, horrible, I threw my full bottle away. Two days later it's garbage day and I'm collecting the garbage and there it was...so against my better judgement I rescued it and placed it in the recesses of my fragrance collection. Why? Perhaps to torture me again at a future date? Who knows. The perpetual optimist in me is hoping it might "mature" into something tolerable. I'll let you know. March 2022 Today Portfolio Green and I finally parted ways. I donated it to Goodwill, hopefully someone else will appreciate it.
