Pure Blue

Let me start by saying....you could kill someone with this bottle. Heavy glass rectangle with pointy edges. As for the scent, the opening reminds me of a Polo Deep Blue/ADG Profondo/Chrome Extreme vibe but that gives way to where the Voyage comparison comes in. I find this to be something of a “dirtier” Voyage which I like ! Versatile and will offend no one. Great dumb grab and for the money it’s a no-brainer for me. Performance is decent; I’ve paid more and gotten less from others. I’ve always been hit or miss with the PE stuff but this is definitely in the hit column.

I received this as a random free sample and just got to smelling it today. I was so impressed that I had to write a comment. Pure Blue smells like a mix between Polo Blue and Nautical Voyage. Nice fruity citrus and opening, the apple note isn’t annoyingly sweet like it is in Voyage. Absolutely beautiful, fun summer scentwith horrible performance. Still worth it if you can find it at rack stores- just know you will need to shower in this for people to notice.

Smells very similar to Voyage but to me it's slightly more mature. I bought this as part of a 4 part discovery pack with Midnight, Bold Red, and whatever the white one is called (maybe just Perry Ellis?) and this was the one that I was least curious about but I ended up being incredibly impressed with. For me the longevity was significantly longer than other aquatics I've tried. It's not groundbreaking but it smells fantastic.

I waited a long time for this to be added here on fragrantica. I think this is a very amazing scent for the price and it lasts a very long time. A nice aquatic that turns to a nice dry down, in my top 20 easily. I thought it was an older fragrance, because it does smell classic while still being uniquely refined as a modern fragrance to me. Only thing is projection lacks, so spray on clothes for a longer scent. 9/10

Very great sophisticated fresh fragrance, easy to where anywhere. It’s inoffensive but not much projection, but can be a good blind buy for a first fragrance possibly. Great alternative to the horrible nautica voyage 7/10💦🌊💧🐟🟩🟢

mass appealing shower gel - esque fragrance. Nothing to be mad at.

This one was a nice surprise. Bought on a whim because of the price and I liked it at a department store. Just got mine delivered and pretty happy with it. I don’t get much of the top citrusy notes but definitely a lot of good green/aquatic scent and a little sandalwood. It does smell a little soapy to me, but not necessarily in a bad way. It’s not a very complex scent for me but still very pleasant for the summer weather and good for daily/office/gym. I’ve seen a lot of comparisons to NV which I used to like so I don’t mind it. However, I can’t say I would want to pay full price for this one since it’s not very original/complex but definitely happy with it for a cheap buy.

First of all, Nautica blows this out of the water (no pun intended). Secondly, Perry Ellis launched Pure Blue in 2018 and in the same year they launched Very Blue. Guess what, they are both aquatic/blue ambroxan fragrances that are about 70% identical. Where they differ is that Very Blue is warmer, more woody, and with a smoother fruitier profile, and is a little more soapy blue shower gel like. While Pure Blue is cooler and sharper, a bit more citrusy and ozonic, with a more white water aldehydic soapy vibe. Pure Blue is a bit more old school and Very Blue is a bit more new school. Unfortunately, the ambroxan stands out more in Pure Blue and so it seems cheaper. Plus Nautica Voyage is a far superior fragrance with 10x better green/herbal notes.

Perry Ellis Pure Blue is a very unnatural-smelling, fresh and bright, utterly modern BLUE fragrance that somehow gives me commercial, lonely, cold vibes. Super cool and with no warmth of personality. Fake through and through. Kind of spicy, in an entirely synthetic way. I agree with the reviews that say this resembles a shower gel, but in that case, it would only be a cheap and barely-good one. It also smells a little bit like the plastic used in blow-up swimming pools and such. For me, Perry Ellis Pure Blue smells better with 4 or 5 sprays on each pulse point on my neck than it does with 10 sprays on my shirt. It has also improved a little by sitting in the bottle for a few months. Still, it's pretty mediocre. I think that many of the reviews here are too generous to this scent relative to other fragrances. It's overrated and was not a good value for $25. The bottle is one of the best, being so heavy and frosted and elegantly simple in its shape, and the atomizer is nice. However, the smell itself makes it worth no more than fifteen bucks. I don't recommend a blind buy for more than that. Hopefully this will grow on me over time, and maybe more "maceration" and warmer weather will bring out the best in it... Note: I don't find this to smell at all similar to Nautica Voyage, other than the warm-weather "blue" shower gel impression.

I've never smelled nautica voyage, but I've heard good things of it. I will smell it soon but I PRAY this is nothing like it. I thought the alcohol punch would go away, after 2 hours of nothing but everclear in my nostrils I had to go and wash this damn thing off in the bathroom. A scent that would be disrespectful to gift a homeless man on the street.

Waste of money. Smells boring and cheap.

Perry Ellis Pure Blue is a very fresh mellow aquatic that is in the vein of Nautica Voyage. It’s bit more spicy and definitely more smooth in scent profile. But this is definitely not a clone. It’s about 40% in the vein. Thinking you will get NV you will be disappointed. I’ve wore this plenty of times, and I can confidently say it’s a daytime/gym scent. 5-6hrs of longevity, and about a solid 1hr of projection. If you are looking for a good blue aquatic alternative that can replace NV this is a good pick. Price point don’t pay retail. Go to a rack store like Ross Dress For Less you could find this for the $20 mark which is a great price. Even some discounters have this one price a little higher than its worth. Final point. I personally don’t feel this is a staple back up bottle worthy type fragrance but it is a good alternative to try. Enjoy.

Decent scent fresh clean mass appeal to it I wear for out the shower sometimes I wear it when I’m outside longevity is okay 5-6 hrs an hour of projection for me great price too people compare this to Nautica voyage except you don’t really get that cucumber/locus smell nice grapefruit and cardamom too 8/10
