Reserve for Men

This fragrance was sold at first only in PE boutiques and when you bought a tux you got a free sample of this. I don't own a tuxedo but when I want to dress up and feel like I'm in one this is what I wear... On its initial blast it is citric and green, but not like all the others out there...this begins with an almost dry citrus blend fused with juniper, lavender and fresh geranium. Stunning but not overpowering, it's quite "dashing" but plays it down.The herbal greens in the heart are dry for sure but it's as if someone took the herbs and crushed them in their fingers to release the scent and blew them in your general direction. The florals in the heart are refined and absolutely elegant, the black rose scent is reminiscient of the dark tuxedo color and the carnation is bright like a flower in a lapel. Most of the time I wish top and heart notes would stick around longer, these last just long enough to do there job and fade seemlessly into a very, very sexy finish of moss, woods, musk and amber(I know,I know most frags have these or some combo of these in them but in PER it's like they are brighter or richer)and its not just the basenotes you can smell in the drydown there are hints of top and heartnotes as well, like a mist rising from memories... Sillage: good Longevity: very good Overall: 4.25/5 For some reason I used to think his frags were generic or cheap but 360, Reserve and Portfolio Elite changed my opinion and led to an explosion of his fragrances in my collection. This one is an aromatic fougere for a daper sort of gent and I reccomend it for dressing up, formal attire and nighttime activities, it does begin quite sharp so I reccomend spraying before one dresses, then walk through a spray on the way out the door...

Man this one definitely takes me back to fond memories. Let's go back to the years '96-'00. Location High School in San Jose, California. My clothing consisted of Nike everything, Nautica and Southpole gear. My 4 fragrances were Acqua Di Gio, Cool Water, Curve, and this stuff right here. One thing the girls always said was I smelled good. The women still say it just don't tell my wife lol. I used to get more compliments with this than I did the other 3 combined. I think that was more because it was unique compared to the other 3, which were pretty common in a high school with around 5,000 students but I digress. It is fresh and clean without being soapy. A little interesting and spicy because.of the tarragon, geranium and caraway. It's not a heavy projector or has monster sillage but it gets out enough where if you're walking by someone or they are within your radius they will catch a whiff. Being a athlete in High School I was semi popular so I did get a lot of hugs so that helped me get close enough for people to smell me. Overall a great fragrance imo. It's the scent I wore to my prom so it'll always have a special place in my heart.

Clean and uplifting! One of the freshest, most versatile frags you can buy for under $20. The juniper/lavender/geranium heart, prominent in so many 90s freshies (CK Eternity, Cool Water, Pleasures, etc), gives it an air of familiarity, but not so much so that it feels overly generic or uninteresting. Just comfortable. The citrus in this one is not a juicy citrus; it's sharp and tangy, slightly metallic even. The sharpness is tempered by the aromatic herbal notes (tarragon,sage, and caraway) in a way that reminds me of Chanel Platinum Egoiste. Projection and sillage are huge at first, so it can be overwhelming in the first 10-15 minutes if you over-apply. After 60 minutes or so, you'll find yourself encompassed in a light shower-fresh scebt bubble that will last almost all day. I can't really picture this as a formal scent, which is how it was originally marketed. For me, it's the perfect accessory for my summer uniform of v-neck t-shirts, cotton shorts, white low-top Converse, and Wayfarers. This and the original 360° are by far my favorite offerings from Perry Ellis.

To me this smells just like Burberry Men, the one that came out in 1995. Wow Fermenich this is a great creation! I get like a fresh mentholated smell to this throughout the whole duration. It's also sweet and citric up top and that also lasts a long time as well. For me I could have something like this as a signature scent because of how well rounded and versatile it is and it has about 7-8 hours longevity with very good projection. I would recommend this to a guy, young or older that wants something that smells good but might not be too deep into collecting fragrances. This has a good masculine edge to it with that 90's appeal. I really enjoy this stuff and I have two bottles of it!

I enjoy this, especially for the 10$ I got it for. I smell a lot of lavender, some bergamot. It’s pretty herb spicy to me, not sure if it’s the sage or the tarragon or a bit of both. Smells clean, fresh, and inoffensive. I have received a few compliments on it. Not just counting my wife and family ;) but they also like it. Lasts about 4-6 hours on my skin depending on the weather. I normally spray pretty heavy, so it stays a bit longer on clothes. Medium projection, arm length feels about right. Medium low scent trail. This is my second favorite PE 360 fragrance so far. I’ve given a few bottles as gifts, and they were well received.

Perry Ellis Reserve is a fresh and powerful smell that opts to project sophistication instead of sex appeal. That power is rather short lived however, as it calms down and wears close to the skin a lot faster than an average fragrance would. The crispness of cold weather helps increase the potency of the freshness in this one. If you keep it subtle enough, this would make a fine daily scent that would likely be very unique, and definitely become memorable to others as “your smell”. That said, it was made for a formal affair; something you would dress up for.

I'm rocking this today for Thanksgiving. It's raining and snowing here in Southern California. I'm wearing a collar shirt, tie, and slacks. This frag is giving a feeling like no other. I feel so fresh and clean! I feel like I'm gleaming with a brilliant aura. So light and airy that I don't have to worry about clearing out my moms house as we are enjoying our turkey. I could have chosen something more sweet for this holiday, but I'm so glad I didn't..

This is versatile. You may go heavy on the trigger esecially in the winter. However, do not spray in the same area twice or it smells overly metallic. Also, I only recommend wearing this after a shower because of the same reason. This could be someone's secret weapon as it's very unique and unknown. The notes in this are a very mild fruit and an undescribable transparency. This has some bone structure of Channel Egoiste Platinum.

I was approached by a gentleman wearing this fragrance one evening. I complimented him on it and politely asked what it was. It was Perry Ellis Reserve. I was familiar with the house so I looked it up on Amazon. I saw the $13 price tag (100ml) and immediately bought it. Don't regret this buy for a second! For the pleasant, and albeit, crowd pleasing sillage trail this fragrance leaves behind, it is well worth the price.

i got this as a gift from my brother. at first sniff, i liked it immediately. my girlfriend loves it on me. it's light, citrusy and the woodsy drydown is so amazing! All in all, a very clean sensual smell. got so many compliments everytime i wear Perry Ellis Reserve for men. a highly recommended scent. absolutely a "TURN ON" fragrance! :D

Juniper, lavender, light grapefruit, and geranium come through, getting slight sweeter in the heart with licorice tarragon, sage, carraway, and other floral notes. Base of moss, musk, touch of sweet amber woods. This is really nice. This makes me want to find other fragrances around the tarragon because that was beautiful.

picked up a 3.99 bottle of ok2000 perfect copy of this and its a plus for me.......great fresh scent cant distinguish individual notes but its definately a VERY popular aroma.......way better than hugo boss hugo spray

Just realized this is very similar to Chanel Egoiste Platinum. I have been wearing this SPORTY cologne since I was 14 years old. I am currently 37 and still wear it. No one has it. This is a EASY blind buy at ~$20.

Safe, secure, freshness.. Very mild but yet elegant. A hint of Chanel Egoiste Platinum and Estee Lauder Pleasures. I love this juice.

Calvin Klein Eternity EDT features citrus, woody, and green touches, good but low performance; Coach Platinum EDP is a great juniper, pineapple, and woody fragrance; Curve Men Cologne is a fantastic classic, sweet pineapple, juniper berry, lavender, and woody fragrance; Davidoff Hot Water Men EDT is a soft projection, sweet, pimento, basil, and resinous; Dunhill Icon Men EDP is intense and pleasant citrus, spicy, and woody fragrance; Perry Ellis 360 is a nice, affordable, juniper berry, spicy, and lavender fragrance with low performance; Salvatore Ferragamo F Black Pour Homme EDT is a fresh, woody and peppery fragrance with poor performance; Perry Ellis 360 Red Men is great citrusy bergamot, spicy coriander, cinnamon, cloves, and woody fragrance; Perry Ellis Reserve Men EDT is a basic lavender, fresh woody, and musky fragrance. SUMMARY: A moderate to low projection, lavender, fresh woody, and musky fragrance with some citrus and spicy accords. GypsyParfumista, Shamus1 and LoveScully offer excellent reviews here. It is actually a very nice scent made in the late 90's - the house behind it is Firmenich! It really has a great freshness. Like others on here said, the citrus opening is sharp and fresh - well-integrated with the lavender and juniper (a great note here) that is nice and crisp. That feeling of freshness stays on skin for a while, but is even better on clothes. "How" to wear fragrance is essential and you will find some that are better skin scents and some that need application to clothing to lengthen the top & middle notes that make it so good - this is one of those. So, as recommended by GypsyParfumista, apply after a shower on skin and a spray to walk through before heading out to get some on your clothes - or even a strategically-placed one (or two) sprays under a shirt collar...a great place to apply scent as it is close to your neck but on fabric - a collared, button shirt is not required (but, then again, this is formal attire fragrance that can be worn dressed down) - preferably for me as a casual, aromatic scent. Another in the realm that I like to describe as a "Fresh Fougere" - scents that never get cloying, retain a wonderful freshness and mix well with variations in climate and body temperature. Ones that you reach for when you want to smell totally clean and fresh for a while, can always reapply and those around you enjoy as much as you do. Firmenich did well in the middle (heart notes) here with the green notes (sage and tarragon) dominant. The florals linger and I do pick up the transient aromatic caraway note (which segues into the drydown). I get white musk (clean and lifted) with a touch of sandalwood and amber - creating a nice base. The fresh notes still linger on top along with the nice green/floral middle that gets a touch earthy and herbal. This fragrance transitions, but it doesn't lose focus on smelling clean, yet masculine. Well done. Personally, I would not wear this with formal attire - as it is too mainstream, even if it did originally only sell at Perry Ellis boutiques and was sampled with tuxedos. I definitely would wear it with a polo shirt, shorts/khakis/jeans and even as a gym scent. Don't take offense, but I like to smell good when I work out...not like socks and body odor. Turn up the body heat on this and it gets better - definitely a very fresh composition. I can handle the synthetic aspects because the overall smell is wonderfully blended and aromatically charming. A hidden find that is fresh & safe. I will enjoy this...

This is pretty much your basic "essence of 90s" scent. While not a clone of Eternity this definitely feels to be in the same family. The soapiness in Eternity is more of a dry bar soap smell whereas this is more of a shower gel type soap that is a bit softer and sweeter than the former. The opening does come across as very cologne-y but that fades within 10 mins. Projection is moderate for about a 1/2 hour but quickly settles close to the skin. Longevity is a mere 3-4 hours on my skin. I can't see this one offending anyone as it just promotes a general freshly showered, clean smell. I blind bought this because I found it very cheap online. It's not bad but it's just a little boring to me and I have better 90s nostalgia fragrances for when I am in that mood. It's just okay but if I could do it over again I would pass. 5/10

Reserve is a fresh and cheerful fragrance, opening with a well-blended citrus and lavender with some rounder florals pushing through, and then finally drying down to a nice musky sweetness. The bergamot never fully disappears through the whole development. It is very classy, but not snobbish at all. I can easily wear it as a more casual fragrance, but it's not too laid back for a suit either. In other words, it's versatile. Sillage is medium. Longevity is not so great. But it's pretty inexpensive, so it doesn't make you feel bad about refreshing. Just keep a small atomizer on you and give yourself another spritz every few hours.

Soapy, clean, aromatic fougere in the vein of Eternity, but this one is less sharp in the opening. Great masculine scent for the office or anything really. A nice cheapie for a man of any age that just wants a daily-driver that will work for any occasion.

It's a 90s type cologne smells pretty much like the big hitters from back then like eternity and polo sport. Very sharp crisp and fresh but it's nice I like it every now and then to spray on. Great for a work setting.

A light and soapy scent that could easily be used in all occasions. It seems to last forever and won't offend even the most sensitive of noses. I'd recommend 3 sprays, one of which on a pulse point.

Great everyday scent for anyone. Great for high school or college students that want a cheap, fresh, sharp everyday cologne

This fragrance screams '90s. Well, maybe not SCREAMS. It's a very safe scent. You couldn't offend someone with this if you tried. It's got your lavender and your juniper and your assorted citruses. Nothing too interesting, but pretty pleasant. It wouldn't surprise me if the original Perry Ellis 360 cologne was the foundation for this one. Reserve is much less cloying, however. Performance is moderate in all areas. I can get away with 5-6 sprays and it'll last me most of the work day. Reserve is a great fragrance for the office. It's not a head-turner, but I can't imagine you'll find very many people who dislike it. Not a bad option for beginners, though you'll likely outgrow this one very quickly.

Its not bad, but also not something to remember. The scent has that 90's feel. Performance not great. I don't know when to wear this. So many better options in every situation. Overall a 5 out of 10.

My sister bought this for me as a birthday gift a few years back. I hardly wore it, so my nephew now makes great use of it. I'm still not a huge fan of this perfume, but I feel better now than I did when I initially tried it. The geranium, juniper, lavender, and bergamot give Reserve a showery fresh opening that makes me feel as though I've just cleaned myself with a nice bar of soap. As it develops, the grapefruit becomes much more prominent. The fragrance is fruity, sharp, and a little woody. Those around me describe it as masculine, classy, and versatile. As it doesn't have great sillage, it is much enjoyed at relatively close contact. There are many complaints about longevity, yet I've found that Reserve lasts all day on me, which is a rarity for any perfume. My girlfriend says it feels quite pleasant, citrusy sweet, and very natural, as if we were in the woods.

I had this cologne twice years back, it has woody notes and its Fougere, so its obvious why I bought it twice. But the citrusy lemony notes is powerful and people notice it (nothing wrong with that per se), its too loud for me and on that note, I never bought it again.

All I seem to get out of this is grapefruit and ginger. Average scent with average longevity and good projection. What can I say, it's a Perry Ellis scent.

typical synthetic "fresh/sporty" scent, precisely like the one I dislike. 1/5, unwearable for me, I am sorry.

Okay, some may disagree, but I’m literally here spraying Mont Blanc Explorer on one hand and PE Reserve on the other, going back and forth taking whiffs and at least in terms of the opening, they are almost identical to my nose. Bergamot pops ahead of all else for both, and it’s only when they start to dry down do they separate and go their own ways but not necessary in completely opposite directions. With MB Explorer, I can pick up on the leather in the mid, where Reserve has ,it’s own thing going, but that mid doesn’t last all that long, at least for the Reserve and it seems to drop to the base notes rather quickly, and they start to smell alike again, because the bases are similar in that I pick up on the amber and woods in both, with the leather still sticking around for a bit longer with Explorer. I’m not saying that I have the best sense of smell by any means, but to me, these two are practically interchangeable. I would wear them both to the office not caring which of the two it is.

This isn't even remotely unique, as I've smelled many other fragrances that smell just like this. It smells like a much less complex version of Cerruti Image, and that's not a bad thing at all. Lack of originality aside, Reserve is simply superb. It has a sweet fruitiness throughout its development, smelling like pears or peaches. Though sweet, it is not heavy or cloying at all. That's because there are also a lot of nice sharp green herbal notes and wood to counteract the sweetness. Everything finishes up nicely with its smooth but spicy sandalwood musk base. This is a totally safe, unadventurous scent that will not offend anyone. However, who cares when it smells this good? Though I prefer Cerruti Image, there is no way you can go wrong with PE Reserve For Men, especially for the price. It's timeless and classic. MY RATING: 8/10

I am a pretty big fan of *most* Perry Ellis fragrances (except for 360 original and Platinum), so I am somewhat obsessed with trying them all. After reading and watching many reviews on Reserve, I decided to go ahead and blind buy it since it seemed like it would be pretty inoffensive. Inoffensive is the correct word for it. Nice, slightly refined soapy grapefruit scent that settles nicely on me. Very good longevity and decent sillage. Although originally marketed in 1998 as a "formal" scent, I find that it is more versatile than that. I wear it occasionally to class (college), and it doesn't really seem out of place. I could see wearing this dressy however. Only "drawback" I could see is that this is nothing original or special really. It just smells like nice cologne. Nevertheless, Reserve is pretty good, I'd recommend it!

PE Reserve is like Eternity For Men with all its rough edges sanded down. It's got Eternity's green freshness, but it's greener, more natural smelling, and more aromatic than Eternity. PE Reserve is a perfectly balanced fragrance, containing all the best features of early 90s aromatic fougeres like Eternity, Platinum Egoiste, and Escape For Men. Smells very green. Performance is also good, projecting moderately but lasting all day, about 8 hours. If you love early 90s masculine fragrances, before aquatics became all the rage, then you'll probably love this one. I certainly do.

Amazing citrus blast when first sprayed. Very clean and fresh. The Grapefruit & Bergamot last quite a long time on my skin. When it gets to the drydown the exotic (& enjoyable) woods kick in. Although for me, the initial citrus burst never really departs fully and remains there in the background, perfectly complimenting the middle and base notes. In my opinion, it's suitable for any season or any occasion. On me, both longevity & sillage are above average. Considering that this can be found for about $15 or less, I'd say this is one fantastic value for money bargain.

One of if not my favorite Perry Ellis frag. Great all around juice. Pretty balanced. Clean and fresh.. Deff a “90’s” smell.. not a complete bergamot bomb and not a barber shop beast. Just a well rounded simple clean “athletic” juice. A&F fierce with a bit of Nautica classic/polo sport hiding in the background for that freshness we like. Safe.. cheap.. great smelling. If you find it for under $20 go for it. Great scent.

This is a very bright, fresh, and clean fragrance. There is zero sexiness and allure to it. It's a fun fragrance to spritz on when you want to feel fresh, but don't expect many compliments. The quality of the juice is low and you can definitely notice that. I got sick of this fragrance. EDIT: I figured it out... this smells like CK Eternity for men. I'm pretty sure this is just a copy of it. Very very similar.

Quick take: Ok I’m just gonna have to say it: I don’t get Curve. At all. What I get is closer to A&F Fierce or Montblanc Legend. Pretty good for a fragrance released in the 90s. Unfortunately I don’t get great performance. The good news is this is cheap (6ish oz for under $30) so layer and refresh and you should be good. A like from me.

A clone of Liz Claiborne's Curve for Men. Also in line with CK Eternity. Sweet, lavender-heavy, overly synthetic with way too much amber in the base. Just like Curve. Projects like a monster and that's not a good thing. One of my least favorite scents.

Just recently got this and to my nose it smells very similar to fierce and reminiscent of Liz Claiborne curve. Definitely worth checking out if you’re on a budget. Smells very good in the air and really does remind me of those two fragrances

the tarragon makes all the other notes open up.very handsome and masculine mix.8 plus hours on me.buy it,its cheap in price and a must in your collection. ciao!

Best PE fragrance for men, imo. Yum...yes would vote to purchase again very affordable at the outlet stores.
