Bapteme Ambre

This is a superb fragrance with a bold spicy, tolu/cinnamon opening giving way to an almost light and translucent amber accord which feels a little underwhelming....at first that is. However Bapteme is a creeping, stealthy little amber, building all the while to a crescendo of near full on sticky, amber immersion. It doesn't quite go heavy gourmand (cacao of benzoin) too vanillic or incense heavy a la TF AA (Labdanum dominant) nor does it go full dusty old book/library on you either. This is a middling amber combining a balance of these and another type the more airy, natural breath of ambergirs complete with a light saltiness. This also has a very subtle (but ever present) touch of rose and geranium to complete the whole Ambre Nuit asociation I also get from this perfume. The overall quality reminds me also of Profumum roma Aurea and Fiori but this is just lacking slightly on the longevity and overall presence to push it into the realm of elite ambers. What is does have going for it is that it's very well priced at £110 for 100ml and I'm fixated on performance so I can over look that in any case, just figured it was worth mentioning for those that do. A strong outing then from Phaedon in my humble opinion well worth checking out. :)

Bapteme Ambre Inspired by a blend of spices that Madame du Barry who was one of the most famous courtesan in Paris, used to bathe her vajajay and became the favorite of King Louis XV because of it😊! It's spicy, sweet, slightly herbaceous and powdery with a very warm and ridiculously sensual finish! I love a fragrance with a great story! I believe that if a fragrance doesn't tell a good story or transports you somewhere, even to just a particular memory then in my opinion it's not worth wearing

I really like this complex fragrance with the notes of rose, amber, and spices. Perfect for winter, it is warm, feminine, bold. Same vibe with "L'eau" of Diptyque. This scent is very vintage (middle-ages period), like an elegant woman in front of a fire, with a cinnamon drink. The sillage and longevity are excellent; the scent is bold but not so potent. 9/10

Baptême Ambré opens with a suprisingly deep concentration of rose and a whiff of brandy. My nose is tickling too so aldehydes may be here. And there's something mysteriously soft and gentle holding it all together. Starting out as a cushiony-soft floral, a dreamy rose with a little patchouli-like sharpness. It’s underpinned by the kind of creamy coconut-figginess I get from some sandalwoods but which might, at a push, be the amber with listed geranium though it's not remotely bitter. Leaning feminine at first, I'm not sold on this rose accord but things soon change... This perfume sneaks up on you. The rose melts away and the amber notes swell. I think I can pick out soft, vanillic benzoin, labdanum and ambroxan emerging with a gentle myrrh (opoponax is listed), all beautifully balanced, transforming this perfume from floral into a rich yet light, comforting, powdery, vintagey amber. That note pyramid looks short for what I'm smelling. Whatever the notes, once it settles this perfume is the perfect amber for autumn/winter evenings and grand occasions or just to snuggle down in.

To me, this is a soft amber perfume with a heavenly cinnamon note that adds some character and spiciness, especially in the opening stage. The rose is also there, soft and adding a certain feminine je-ne-sais-quoi to this ambery composition. The more the drydown progresses, the sweeter and more delicate the fragrance becomes, but it is still strong enough to last a whole day with moderate sillage.
