Ilanguara

I get a lovely mixture of woody balsamic notes with some wafts of ylang-ylang right after spraying. A few minutes later, a marzipan-like almond note dominates the scent. Unfortunately, after 3 to 4 hours into the drydown, all is left is a nondescript powdery and musky sweetness that has little resemblance to the initial balsamic scent profile. I suggest that those interested in this fragrance get a sample before committing.

My first thought was really sweet and resinous care of the Benzoin no doubt. Too sweet for me. Too much Benzoin. I hoping there would be some citrus zing on the opening but the citrus notes have been swamped with resin. With time the ylang and almonds appear with citrus finally surfacing. It's an upside down fragrance. I actually like it a lot more now but it's not a love. Moderate spillage and longevity.

This is pretty run-of-the-mill. It starts out very, very baby-powdery, which put me off. Then it chills out into a pleasant vanilla-meets-incense mode. It's completely ... fine. Nothing to write home about.

I get a very sweet, sugarsweet vanilla on my skin.Like vanilla you eat in a cake. And thats it. Sugarsweet vanilla all the way thru the pyramid. I don't like this type of sugarsweet scents, so this one is not for me. For me this is a scent for teenagers or a young woman.

Opening/ mid: The vanilla here is plastic-y.. like a blow-up sex doll with a terrible smelling vanilla flavored lubricant. Or better yet.. The taste & smell of lipstick. Definitely feminine
