Pluie de Soleil

First blast hitting my nose is freesia, strawberry, pineapple. It starts as slightly syrupy but not overly so. Bergamot and musk quickly wander in to anchor the delicious fruity aromas. The lemon is soft and seems to pair with sandalwood. Within minutes the sweetness is fully mellowed by the smoothness of the sandalwood, the bergamot-lemon and piquant musk. Very fresh, clean, uplifting and lightly fruity scent.

Pluie de Soleil is a sunny fruity floral. Lemon and bergamot give Pluie de Soleil a fresh opening followed by delicate hints of freesia, white peach and strawberry. The central fruity floral facet rests on a base of sandalwood, cashmeran and vanilla. With its title translating as 'It’s raining Sun’ Pluie de Soleil is a joyful, vivacious fragrance evocative of a Mediterranean summer.

On the surface, this seems like a simple sweet fruity concoction. But as it dries down, it gets addictive and, while linear, is very enjoyable. It reminds me of Annabel's Birthday Cake without the vanilla. Bright with a familiar childhood element. In this case, its a doll smell. Its much more wearable then the my description relates.

Yes this is a young scent but it is beautiful. It is a happy safe smell like fruity shampoo but not overpowering in the way of artificial. This is a good pick me up perfume for a day when you can’t decide what to wear. Nice summer scent. I blind bought this from Osswald NYC sale and do not regret it.

I love this stuff for those blasting hot Cali days. I get mostly boozy pineapple and strawberries with the musk and sandlewood.

First impression: Fruity chewing gum Second impression: Fruity shampoo Third impression: Annoying, screechy, piercing, bitter freesia So...not my favorite from Mr Guillaume by any means. If you told me this was Summer Fantasy by Britney Spears, I would believe you. I really can't distinguish any particular fruit. Whether it's strawberry or pineapple, I really can't tell. If you do end up liking this perfume, the good thing is that sillage is quite good for such a fruity perfume. Many hours later: Darn, how did I grow to love this perfume?! I will tell you how. That annoying freesia note became increasingly annoying, to the point of smelling like plastic. The perfume began to smell like something closely linked to my memory; some sort of scented doll that I had as a child. Or possibly a Barbie kids lotion or powder I had when I was little. Something along those lines. So while I wouldn't necessarily recommend this perfume, God help me, I love the stuff!

i finally got around to wearing this sample today, not just smelling it in the bottle. on me it smells very similar to versace time for pleasure. so if you don't want to pay this much $, check ebay for versace time for pleasure for a fraction of the price.

Does it smell like any Escada fragrance out there? Probably. Is it worth the price? Probably not. Do I like it? Yes. A lot.

i love fruity perfumes, so i really like this one. i don't, however, think it's "special" enough for the price.

Definitely more citrus here. I get grapefruit and lemon not the strawberry that a lot are describing. it smells exactly like a perfume I used to wear but can't remember the name of. It made my allergies tweak too so I'm going to have to pass on this one. But definitely buying their Sable and Soleil, I'm addicted to the smell of that one. This smells just like BCBG Max Azria for Women 2011.

I am confused by Phaedon PLUIE DE SOLEIL, and if the provenance of my sample were not a dependable fellow fragrance traveler, I'd suspect a decanting error. Why? Because this perfume is to my nose an average fruity-floral composition of the Coty Prestige kind. This could easily have been the juice inside one of the GMO-modified insect bottles from Marc Jacobs. I confess to not being fond of pineapple and strawberry as perfume notes, and my understanding is that fruits are always synthetically mimicked, which implies that any creation this fruity is bound to have a synthetic cast. I'm sure that PLUIE DE SOLEIL would work for anyone who enjoys wearing mainstream designer fruit-heavy abstract fragrances. But why pay niche prices for this? Abstract freesia? Canned fruits in light syrup? Needless to say: not for me.

I was looking for a decant of this for a long time, since I was so intigued by the pineapple/strawberry note. Well, as a result, all I get is a fruity shampoo. I have noticed that a strawberry note comes Always as too synthetic, it is almost screechy. I would get an Escada scent instead for such a load of Money. Really nothing special. I will sell my decant.

This smells EXACTLY like something I have smelled before but I can't remember what perfume it was. Pretty, but generic. When the head notes drifted away to reveal the heart, I smelled some acrid note coming off my skin. The strawberry/pineapple/bergamot are noticeable, but its blended into fruitiness rather than straight up pineapple (thank god- who wants to smell like a pineapple?). I also notice some bright citrusy yellow flower. It is an uplifting sunny fragrance and the longevity is pretty good- I still smell the fruit mixed in with some wood (which wasn't detectable until several hours) 9 hours after application. Aside from the acrid note - which eventually faded before the perfume was over - I enjoyed my scent adventure with the sample, but I wouldn't buy this.

Bought a sample of this scent and I think it is more on the feminine side than on the masculine. It opens with a burst of strawberry and a small hint of citrus. After ~ 15 to 20 minutes it goes full strawberry and pineapple, for about 3-4 hours with nice projection and a very synthetic smell, IMHO. Afterwards, it settles down to a died fruity scent, just like the smell in the Christmas Candy bags, after you have opened it and kept the candies for about a month. Definetely try before you buy.

Oh my, I don't like it one bit!!! Smells like rotten fruits, or some synthetic mess...the name is pretty, the bottle interesting, but the scent!!??? Sorry one of the worse perfumes I have smelled recently!! Niche shouldn't mean unwearable!!! The sandalwood gives the fruity notes a musty rotten undertone, the florals come in that mess and don't improve it one iota.. I wouldn't be caught dead smelling like that!!!

a floral & sweet (but not too sweet) shorefront dream, like a fruit tart dessert on a tropical vacation. Another scent that doesn’t really smell unisex to me but I do like it. It’s tropical but light, and you really get the strawberry and pineapple notes. I wish it hung on for longer though. It reminds me of one of the Escada perfumes I used to buy when I was a teenager, Rockin' Rio.

This smells like an Escada perfume from the mid-2000s, which to me personally doesn't match the high price tag. It's fruity and pleasant but quite generic - it could easily be a scent for a haircare line. Maybe I'm just too old for this (in my 30s) - a 16 year old me would probably appreciate it more.

Wow. This smells almost exactly like Escada's Moon Sparkle to me, so much so I thought my sample must've been mislabeled! It's pleasant, but no more exciting than a fruity shampoo. If you like this, save your pennies and buy an Escada instead.

I agree with Sherapop and Antfarm--this is a mainstream fruity designer scent to me--and a headache in the making. I love pineapple in L'Artisan Ananas Fizz. Can't do it here.

This smells the same as sniffing into a bag of sugared, dried pineapple slices. It reminds me of an Escada or Victoria's Secret fragrance.
