Metrópole

I am delighted with Metropolis, from Phebo Olfactory Library, which has just arrived. I'm not even talking about the perfume, yet! Only about the box and bottle! Very conceptual, raw material. Unlike other boxes in the Library. Wonderful. As for the perfume, I sprayed it on my boyfriend's arm for him to try. At first he made a funny face. After a few seconds of silence sniffing his arm, he said: “If I were a successful businessman and wore Prada suits, that would be my perfume!” It smells like a Prada suit, indeed. It smells first class, but nothing traditional. It’s a contemporary, chic fragrance. Perfectly shareable. For those who like cedar wood, this note is super natural here - it reminds me of my grandfather's cabinets, made of solid cedar. It also reminds me of Phebo’s Santalum. • Top notes: Bergamot (very acidic, disappears in 5 seconds), Apricot and Fig (both fruits are there, however, today I felt the apricot much more than the fig); • Body notes: Sandalwood, Jasmine and Muguet (this trio make the perfume creamy); • Base notes: Cedar (wonderful, noticeable since the top notes), Amber (a certain sweetness), Musk (round body). Note: I'm here writing this review and listening to my boyfriend letting out, from the office, some muffled interjections: "wow ...", "... wow ...", "... wow ..." I went to the office to check what was going on. His answer: "what a nice smell, huh?" It's hard to stop sniffing the perfume on your arm! :D ——- Estou encantada com o Metrópole, da Biblioteca Olfativa Phebo, que acabou de chegar. Nem estou falando do perfume, ainda! Só da caixa e frasco! Muito conceitual, raw material. Diferente das outras caixas da Biblioteca. Maravilhoso. Quanto ao perfume, espirrei um pouco no braço do namorado, para ele experimentar. Num primeiro momento, ele fez cara de “heim??” Depois de uns segundos calado, cheirando o braço, ele disse: “se eu fosse um engravatado e usasse ternos Prada, esse seria o meu perfume!” Tem cheiro de terno Prada, mesmo. Tem cheiro de high society, mas nada tradicional. Um chic contemporâneo. Perfeitamente compartilhável. Pra quem gosta de cedro, a nota está super natural aqui - lembrou os armários do meu avô, de cedro maciço. Lembrou o cedro do Santalum, também da Granado. • Notas de topo: Bergamota (bem ácida, passa em 10 segundos), Damasco e Figo (as duas frutas estão ali, porém, hoje, senti muito mais o damasco que o figo). • Notas de corpo: Sândalo, Jasmim e Muguet (esse trio, da maneira que foi usado, torna o perfume cremoso). • Notas de fundo: Cedro (maravilhoso desde as notas de topo), Âmbar (um certo dulçor), Musk. Nota.: estou aqui escrevendo essa resenha e ouvindo o namorado soltar, do escritório, umas interjeições abafadinhas: “nossa...”, “...nossa...”, “...nossa...” Fui no escritório, ver o que estava acontecendo. Resposta: “que cheiro bom, heim?” É difícil parar cheirar o braço! :D

Sweet and fruity opening that changes to a warm and soft woody. I smell a coconut note too. It smells natural, great creation, classy, genderless... But it has a bad performance. Longevity around 3-4 hours Weak sillage. It is a good fragrance but don't worth the price!

The opening is too alcoholic for my liking, and in that point it reminds me of both Bois de Balincourt and Santal 33 most negative aspect. However, the dry-down is superb. A woody scent that is comfortable, soapy and not offensive to the people around you. I personally do not get the fruitiness from the apricot nor the fig (not even the bergamot), but I do get the animalic from sandalwood, the pencil shaving from cedar, the warm skin scent musk, the comforting feel from the amber, the soapiness from the lily-of-the-valley. If the fruits were not listed I would not even consider these notes. The resemblance to Santal 33 is detectable to the point some friends asked me if I was still wearing it, and indeed it’s similar to the Le Labo’s fragrance, but if Prada did it. For the price point, it’s an excellent scent. If you’re used to wearing niche scents, it is even better.

Bom perfume. Abre num cítrico gostoso e depois fica só o floral e o adocicado. É gostoso, mas não é exatamente o que esperava. Na minha pele a longevidade dele é razoável, mas a projeção bem curta.

This is the best fragrance that I ever smelled, BUT the longevity and the sillage are not weak they are inexistent, 5 minutes after you spray it on your skin the fragrance disappeared!
