Patchouli

This is Dior's Midnight Poison younger brother. Unisex, very wearable, yet distinct, powerful scent. This is an amazing scent for the price! From the brazilian niche house of Phebo, which is the most creative fragrance brand from Brazil. While other brazilian fragrance houses copies from international designer brands, Phebo launches a amazing juices like this one for very cheap (200 BRL, about 40-50USD). It perfectly encapsulates the greener aspects of Patchouli. Smells medicinal, herbal and cold. It was my signature and also daily scent for some years, and it got a lot of compliments. It smells classy, but there is a casual vibe to it, like as if you have a serious, but yet playfull characters. It opens fresh and medicinal, with a distinct camphorated vibe. Very refreshing! The floral mid notes softens all of this coldness, but most importantly, contrasts with the harshness from the patchouli. This is the perfect begginer's patchouli scent, which thought me at the time how to apreciate patchouli in fragrances. The patchouli at the base is very present, from the first blast until the end. It has a nice vintage feel, and to my mind, it smells like the 60's, although i have never smelled the 60s, nor was alive at the time. War in Vietnam, due to its green, camphorated, medicinal notes (think of an army hospital in Vietnam), Hippies due to the obvious link to weed, as patchouli certanly remind's you of that smell, but also a vintage aspect, due to flowers, like an old timey scent. It is very classical yet modern smelling. This is the 60's, war and peace, tradition and new. A constant duality between oposites. This would fit Histories de Parfums. It would be called 1969. Smells expansive and niche, but wearable. It got me compliments when I wore it. It has a fresh aura to it, but not beachy fresh, more of a damp forrest, darker freshness. Altough completely different smell wise, it has the same vibe as Van Cleef & Arpells Tsar. Good substitute to that one btw. Good longevity, about 7-8 hours, and a nice projection in the first hour. It then settles a bit, but is still noticable. Versatile, can be dressed up or down, but I wouldn't wear it on a very casual ocasion, like t-shirt an flip flops, as it would feel a bit to formal. Any age, masculine but can be used by women, as it is very similar to Midnight Poison, but lighter. This is what i imagine smelling like Che Guevara in a revolution when the Guerilla went into the woods! Forresty, medicinal (Che Guevara was a doctor!!) green smell, but a hippie, revolutionary character to it. Buy it if you can, it is art in a bottle!

A perfume with the note of Patchouli very different from everything I have ever known in my life. I don't know if because of the bold combination of notes or because Patchouli presents itself with different aromatic aspects, while still being the good old odorous Patchouli. Citrus and full bodied, with chords of raw lemon juice plus orange peel, making this stage somewhat aromatic and at the same time dense, despite presenting citrus chords which are much more likely to be volatized, very interesting . In the heart he is a manly floral, can you believe it ?! Well, Casa Phebo achieved this feat, joining floral notes that when combined in the same path, present a sensitive and at the same time crude, dirty, rustic. The result is cool, but nothing common than what we are used to seeing in perfumery around the world. Here, at the end, Patchouli de Phebo brings the note of Patchouli in a way that I perceive in three different aspects, herbal, earthy and dry. When herbal, he makes a bed for the woody touch of the background and brings a subtle ornament on the "intensity" of the woods, when earthy he pairs with the Cedar's ardor and strains a certain notoriety that ends in a pleasant balance, and when parched, it looks like my Pará, the smell of my land, my people, our streets, parties and movements. Perfume with excellent fixation and medium projection. It is very pleasing to those who use it and whoever is nearby, I approved!
