Punks In Paradise

Love from the first sniff. The opening is pretty aggressive: immediate spiciness, cannabis, and character. It stays with you for a good minute, and then slowly, it starts to mellow out. But even as it dries on the skin, it doesn't lose any of the spicinesses, the main note it had from the very beginning. It is eternal on all fabrics, scarves, blouses, and sweaters. A genuinely iconic scent that agrees so beautifully with my personality; it's just a perfect match.

This and Midnight on Max St. are the best Philly & Phill fragrances. Punks in paradise is unique, a bit crazy but luxurious at the same time, leans more masculine. Gentle fruityness is accompanied with aggresive nutmeg and leather which is then tamed with creamy ylang ylang. Cannabis note gives it some greenyness but it doesn't stand out. Projection and longevity are good.

Strong fresh and green from the first sniff, after 10-15 min is melting down, the sweetness from the fruits starts to pop up and you have a spicy, fresh and sweet fragrance. It starts masculine, transforms into a more feminine fragrance. The leather in this fragrance it is subtle and adds a deep note to it. I like how this smell develops itself. I would imagine a man wearing this perfume same as a woman. It is very different from all the fresh fragrances.

The scent that nose will remember. Not in a bad or good way-its just really stands out. Synthetic and sharp. Too masculine for me, but still an interesting one that my hand goes to but choosing another one for the day after.

I really liked it at first sniff, but be warned. This contains a LOT of amberwood. As usual, it's not listed. Instead, they listed ambroxan, and since a lot of people can't seem to tell the difference (even though they're almost nothing alike), once again ambroxan will get the blame for this smelling overly 'synthetic', even though amberwood is to blame for 95%. I find it remarkable, no, regrettable, that this cheap smelling aromachemical that seems to be in almost every single designer release nowadays (both for women and men) is used so often in more expensive niche perfumes. Especially because it is the one aromachemical that stands out so much that it makes all fragrances smell sameish these days. Way to make your expensive niche fragrance smell like any other run of the mill mall fragrance. This could have been a wonderful fragrance and I'm sure it could easily have been achieved without the use of this obnoxious substance. But I guess it was cheaper and/or easier to use amberwood. TL;DR: Steer clear if you hate amberwood, because it's here in spades.

Well, the scent itself is pretty good after 1 hour, its a masculine fruity woody scent. The issue is that it is extremely sharp and synthetic, the beginning is more like some cleaning product, and the artificial aspect wont change. I am unsure whether the nose behind the cleaning products is a genius, or they could not find the proper material/formula. As wrote earlier, after a while it becomes better, but still a big no for me.

Quite nice, because it’s warm like Amouage or something, but it enters a slight sourness, so it’s not for me. Possibly comparable to Marly Carlisle.

This is one of the best blue fragrances that I smelled. Blue? Yes, the colour of the juice is blue and it contains a big ambroxan note. That generic aroma chemical that is used in thousands of (modern) fragrances. But in here it's absolutely wonderful and elegant. The fruity notes are very pleasant en sweet. The cannabis and galbanum smell green and grassy. The sillage and projection are almost beastly but not offensive or brute. This Punks in Paradise is a very nice interesting perfume with lots of personality. The musky amber dry down with patchouli and leather is excellent. A true gem this one is with a very good performance.

A post-90s designer-grade "tropical" masculine, still bearing some ash traces from the 80's Drakkars and Azzaros plus the synthetic sweetness that goes with Meg Ryan romantic comedies. Not great, not terrible, like a short-lived Calvin Klein flanker.
