Amazing Grace Ballet Rose

I am in love with the edt that I bought from QVC. Based on how I feel about the other Philosphy scents, I didn't have high hopes for this. Just for reference, my signature scent is Chloe EDT. This smells JUST like Chloe to my nose. It may even have a bit more lasting power. It is incredibly beautiful rose. Even though this projects well and has great longevity on the skin, I would wear to office. I cannot even imagine that ANY human could object to this fresh natural scent. I just discovered, by searching ebay that there is also an EDP version of this beauty! I am going to assume that it is an old release and has been discontinued. I am basing that assumption on the fact that I cannot find the EDP ANYWHERE at all except for ebay. Does anyone know the difference in the smell between the EDP and EDT? I am bidding on a bottle of EDP right now, but it is going to go likely higher than I can afford to pay. If any of you guys have any knowledge about the Ballet Rose EDP, please let us know on here or send me a message.

I just received this fragrance from my subscription service. I have to say that on all the Amazing Grace fragrances from philosophy the musk is the most prevalent to me. I do not get any Rose fragrance from this at all which is great because I don't like rose perfume. The reason I even selected this fragrance is because I went into a Sally Beauty Supply near my home and the woman wearing the perfume behind the counter smelled absolutely beautiful and I asked her what she was wearing and it was this scent. On my skin and on hers as well it smells exactly the same. I'm very pleased. There is nothing little girlish about this fragrance. To me it smells clean and fresh.. Starkly so! Yet it is very soft and not overpowering and just what I was looking for. I hate strong perfumes because I'm prone to getting headaches from them. If you want an everyday fragrance that's good for anywhere you might possibly want to go this is the one to reach for time and again!

Rose is my favorite note and this is my new favorite rose fragrance. I love the woody musk base, which surprises me, because I don’t gravitate toward woody scents. Unlike Tea Rose, the dry down of Amazing Grace Ballet Rose is devoid of a green decay dry down, which happens to me occasionally with Tea Rose. (I don’t always notice that, but others do.) The musk is natural and clean, not stinky. The wood isn’t super strong and it’s balanced nicely with the other notes. Not overly sugary. Not powdery at all on me. Not an overpowering bomb of a fragrance. No need to overspray like the original Amazing Grace and lasts much longer. I almost didn’t buy out of concern I would go through it too fast like I do with AG. I’m pleased with this purchase and hope it’s made available for years to come.

I just love this fragrance! I’ve worn it for a few years and it’s one of my go-to everyday scents. As many have said it is very similar to Bright Crystal EDT, but i find it to be more feminine and not an exact dupe. I think it could be a year-round day scent but I enjoy it most in the spring and summer. The rose here is an accenting note, it doesn’t overpower the sunny peony, just lifts it up. There is a familiar clean laundry smell, but it’s balanced with syrupy litchi which I think is why many have also compared it to Chloe. I would say this scent is a mix of mostly BC and a touch of Chloe so if you love those fragrances as I do, you’ll absolutely love this. It has good longevity and sillage too! 🌹

This fragrance is causing me great sadness at just this particular moment because...the opening is beauty and perfection. Juicy and musky litchi, gorgeous peony, delicate pink rose petals, hint of mild musk and clean wood. It's all there, it's all balanced, it's everything I want. And then suddenly, mere minutes later...everything I wanted is gone and it becomes something slightly sour, slightly soapy, slightly present, and quite boring. If it was cheaper I would still buy this, if only to reapply every 3 minutes and keep that initial impression alive. As it stands, though, I'll just have to hope I come across an unwanted bottle one day that I can get on the cheap.

Found a bottle in the locked case at Marshall's. I immediately looked up all the important details on Fragrantica on my phone, and decided to buy it, scent unsmelled. Turns out...it's beautiful! Light, rosy, sweet, but not Tea-rose sweet. It's just such a subtle, light (I know, I keep using the word light, because it's a perfect descriptor for this fragrance), feminine, unoffensive, lovely scent. Dare I say it's the perfect daily fragrance for someone who enjoys a rose note, but not the kind of rose that gets in everyone's face who's within 10 feet. Not your grandmother's rose perfume. Just classy, light (lol), and pretty. Thrilled with my $25 bottle.

I think Ballet Rose is a classic. I find myself reaching for it all the time. It fits every occasion. It’s a lightly fruity rose scent — I can definitely smell the litchi, and it also has a “soapiness” about it that makes me want to put it on directly after a shower. For an eau de toilette, this has pretty good sillage and longevity. It’s not going to last all day, but it will last a few hours if you spray liberally. Amazing Grace Ballet Rose is a sweeter and fruitier rose than Philosophy’s Pure Grace Nude Rose if you’re trying to decide between the two.

Like SillageClouds’ review below, Ballet Rose gets me more compliments than many of my niche and designer fragrances. It’s a pretty, delicate, and accessible rose, bolstered by some fresh fruitiness. Easily wearable year-round, it’s one of the few rose fragrances I can wear in summer without getting a headache. Even the edt lasts moderately long with a nice scent bubble. I see myself repurchasing this one for as long as it’s available. It’s not often that I find a rose-dominant fragrance to be an easy reach, but Ballet Rose definitely is.

I got a sample of this and immediately adored it. Why ?According to my nose and memory It is very similar to my beloved ( and discontinued ) Dolce and Gabbana Rose the One, the same accord of roses, Lychee and peonies . Only the slight grapefruit isn’t here . But they are 90 percent the same , so yes, I think I will splurge and buy a bottle. It’s $60 plus tax for 60 ml ( in Canada ) , so not cheap but not expensive either. From my sample I got average to good silage and lasting power. Delightful clean, feminine and full of grace indeed.

to the reviewer who commented abt this being nina from black swan's signature scent...... you get it. this is very ballet coded, just like the name. it's rose, simply put. it's elegant and simple, which i enjoy. I've had great luck with the longevity and projection - so much so that I had to tone it down for work (wrists only). Almost every time I wear it someone asks what I have on. update: if you love this scent, you will LOVE the Petal Bloom deoderant by Athena - the scents are almost identical as it's heavily lychee and rose :)

My signature scent used to be Chloe EDP, but for some reason the sharp almost metallic note in it has started to bother my nose recently, at least when wearing it indoors. I am happy with Amazing Grace Ballet Rose because it does not have that sharpness, but definitely has clean. I am getting a powdery note in it, almost like the smell of makeup, or of a delicious rosewater hand cream. So all in all a lovely soft fragrance, classy, feminine, and works for any age. For casual wear and reminds me of expensive scented lotion.

I almost bought this blind just based on reviews, but was able to test it and happily purchased a 60ml bottle. It's exactly what folks say it is - an incredibly lovely, light, feminine fresh rose scent with a background of powdery clean laundry. Simple and innocent and optimistic. Golden, joyful sun over fresh pink roses. Someone else described this as 'exceedingly polite', and that's the perfect description. I think this could be worn throughout the year but is especially lovely in cold weather on bright, sunny days.

This is slightly creamier and lighter, but it's still so close to Roses de Chloe I can't tell them apart on my own skin. If Roses de Chloe is out of budget, this is a great alternative, even if its lasting power on skin is weak. It doesn't smell remotely like the original Amazing Grace, so rather than being a true "flanker", this is an edition in the "brand" of Amazing Grace. I guess people don't respond to fragrances with unestablished names anymore.

I love this perfume. A perfect rose in my opinion. Not heady or cloying but refreshing and sweet. Normally I would place a rose perfume in the spring/summer months but I think this one can be worn any time of the year. It brings to mind bright street lights through a freshly washed car window, pink satin ribbons, stage makeup that's already been danced in, clean hair in bobby pins. Very girly yet ageless, feels like a special occasion in a bottle.

This is a lovely fruity rose fragrance with a general scent that reminds me of those airy fresh 90s perfumes my cool older cousins used to wear - an example being the 90s Gap perfumes. This automatically makes me feel like I’m wearing a pretty baby pink barre outfit. My only qualm with this fragrance is it triggers my migraines! If I wear it going to bed i’ll wake up with a screeching headache, so for those who are sensitive, bear that in mind!

When you first spray it, it smells like honey. Subtly sweet and very enjoyable. Wait though, let the perfume dries down on my skin. You will smell the powdery note but it is not too much overpowering to handle. Base notes are white musk and woodsy apparently, but i just get that soft powdery punch. You definitely can smell the lychee and rose too, light and delicate on your skin. Everything is balanced out so well, you just get the best of all.

I smelled this from a tester at a store checkout and eventually had to go back to get it. I did not think I liked rose scents, but I love this one. This lasts decently on me, but most perfumes last very long on me, so for others it probably will fade quickly. It is beautiful - I love the woodsy-rose scent. I used to dance and this does remind me of ballet, soft and delicate but not fragile.

I have a hair perfume that smells EXACTLY like this so I am really glad I bought it. Smells also just like my face matte-ing powder, like a powdery rose, almost synthetic but that kind of makes it better... I smell like I just visited a friends house that smelled like roses all the time. Beautiful!! I love it so much, I will be layering this with my heavier scents most definitely !

I always get compliments when wearing this scent, it's one of my favorite grab and gos. The rose and musk are the stars of the show, but it can be a little intense if it's right under your nose and sometimes makes me dizzy if I spray too much lol. But it's a very pleasant, feminine, and enjoyable scent for anyone who wants a musky rose perfume for their collection.

This is my favourite perfume. Warm, pure rose with some soapiness. Imagine you just took a shower with rose petals. I wish it was stronger, as I have to spray quite a few times for others to smell it. It is a safe, unoffending scent and my go to scent for a gift, as it's basic enough to please almost everybody. Has been complimented on me by men and women alike.

Ballet rose EDP is my favorite from Philosophy’s Amazing Grace line. It’s a fresh rose fragrance. Surprisingly long lasting for the price. It lasts into the next day on my clothes. My husband loves it. I smell mostly fresh cut rose and litchi. If you love rose and want just a nice, clean, feminine scent, that will last, this is a great one for every day.

I try this scent every time I visit Ulta. I haven't made the leap to making a purchase yet so it obviously it hasn't won me completely over. That is most likely because it has such a youthful elegance. It comes off as sweet and innocent. I'd purchase this one for a preteen in a heart beat. As a woman slowly progressing toward 40 I am still on the fence.

Im not sure what made me purchase this fragrance but I’ve had it in my collection for about 3 yrs. Just recently saw it in the closet and sprayed it on for church...it’s BEAUTIFUL! Very simple rosy perfume but it has personality! Like freshly shampooed hair wafting in the wind. Very pretty, feminine, and perfect for spring/summer days.

Feminine, simple, elegant. This is for people who love perfumes but in an intimate way where you do not fill up the room. It is a shy scent, stays very close to the skin, soft rose and musk on dry down. Maybe a little basic for a "major" perfume head but it is timeless and pretty to me. Not juvenile and not elderly a perfect middle.

This is definitely a skin scent. It smells so dainty, soft, feminine and gentle. I can still smell the amazing grace dna but only very subtle. This feels warm and comforting to wear. Very inoffensive and safe to use in any work environment. I really like this. Perfect for comfy casual days where you just wanna feel and smell good.

As a lover of rose AND sweet scents, this is my favourite when I want to feel soft and ultra-femme (which isn't always, but I digress). I can't really pick out the litchi, which is another favourite scent of mine, but I can pick out the underlying musk which I find inoffensive. It's kind of an intense scent, but not a heavy one.

My first 'signature' fragrance - when I came across this scent, my junior year of high school, I fell in love at first sniff. I have repurchased this more than 6 times since then. Lasts all day for me, and I get endless compliments even with the most mindless few sprays. I will forever hold this fragrance close to my heart!

The last act concludes, and red roses pile onto the stage. Heavy draping curtains crash together, sweeping up the musk off of exhausted ballerinas and the smell of rose petals from well-deserved bouquets. Applause erupts from the audience for the outstanding performance, and from me for this simply beautiful perfume.

bought this blindly and fell in love with it! in contrast to the 'old' and overpowering rose scents i dislike, it's a light, sweet rose with a complementary refreshment of lychee and comforting notes of musk underneath. i reach for it very often, but it unfortunately doesn't last as long on myself as i'd like it to!

Ballet Rose is such an apt name for this one. It feels so delicate and feminine, like pink in a bottle. I've avoided rose because it's always felt a little too mature for me, but this feels so young and fresh that I'm rethinking my stance. It's just such an easy reach when I want to feel like a pretty girly-girl.

I've never really liked rose fragrances, but lately I've smelled a few that I like. I really like this one. It's pretty simple, I mostly smell rose. It's not too sharp, green, or harsh. It's got a hint of sweetness to it. It might be nicer if it had a bit of vanilla or more depth, but I like it for what it is.

This is such a gorgeous scent! Very soft & feminine and clean. I get the litchi, Rose & peony but no woodsy notes. I also purchased the matching body wash because, well, I like to layer and I’ve always loved Philosophys body products. I definitely like this better than the original Amazing Grace.

I sampled this at the store.. Total W for me. I love floras, white, yellow, you name it. This is a great rose. Fresh light. Its a bit musky on the dry down but I couldnt stop smelling it. Poor projection, however, if youre looking for that. This is vert soft and girly.... might purchas soon <3

I love this scent , it's a clean fresh Rose. I love this perfume because for me it feels nostalgic, similar to something my mom or Aunties would wear while I was growing up. It's perfect for hot humid climates as it's not copying. If you want a soft, pretty feminine scent this is the one.

This is one of the most balanced, fresh, and beautiful fragrances I own. This scent turned me into a rose lover! I initially had very low expectations for this, as it is an EDT. I was taken back by how well it performs. It has better silage and lasting power than many of my pricey EDPs.

Ok so I’m not a super massive rose lover, I usually associate it with old ladies as I’m an aged care nurse and many of my patients smell like old roses. BUT! This is beautiful! Such a soft delicate rose scent, honestly smells like a beautiful ballerina! So dainty and soft! Love 😍😍😍

Although its not my usual scent profile, Im oddly drawn to Amazing Grace. I usually go for something with a bit more musk, spice, and complexity while this is minimal and floral. I think the reason it appeals to me is that even though its rose, its not sugary sweet.

This was my signature everyday scent for several years. Easy, pretty, inoffensive. It's a fresh and clean floral - roses and peonies with a lychee note that lends a light, watery fruity sweetness. Not a lot of depth but an affordable and safe scent.

I am not a huge fan of Philosophy scents but this scent is the exception! I opened the box and couldn't believe how incredible this perfume smelled. It's floral and not so much rosy but light,airy and floral. It reminds me of Chloe.

Remind me of Stella and Chloe a lot. It’s equally pretty, fresh, and elegant but Ballet Rose is more affordable than the previous two (happened to see few bottles of Ballet Rose on sale at Marshalls yesterday). I will repurchase.

I wore this beauty on my wedding day, and now every time I wear it (usually for special occasions like dates, anniversary, etc.) it takes me back to that moment. Such a lovely, romantic scent, I hope they never get rid of it.

nothing philosophy puts out will ever top ballet rose for me. it’s such a soft and beautiful fragrance. i’m on my 4th bottle now because i can’t get enough. it smells exactly like fresh lychee and roses, so so beautiful.

Ever wonder what Nina Sayers would wear in Black Swan (2010)? It would have to be this fragrance. Its elegance and beauty are simply unmatched. I can so easily picture Nina spritzing this on before embodying Odette.

I love this! It is so very gentle and soft. Rose and musk and... vanilla... (it's in there I just know it! :)) What a lovely smelling thing! Yay Philosophy you've caught my attention!

To my nose, this smells very similar to Versace bright Crystal. Very pretty rose scent. So fresh & pretty.
