Amazing Grace Lavender

Truthfully, I’ve never been a fan of the Amazing Grace franchise in the past; too much of the whole soap-and-water-clean vibes in every. Single. One. And I so wanted to love the rose editions, but nope, too much soap. THIS, on the other hand, is WONDERFUL with my body chemistry. Historically I do not do well with citrus fragrances (D&G Light Blue is acrid and vile on me, as is Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche). This is a citrusy scent that I can finally wear. The lavender is elusive but peeks out from time to time, just enough to catch a whiff here and there, and the grapefruit, pepper, and jasmine are really harmonious together. Having said all of that, it’s an unusual fragrance and I wouldn’t recommend it as a blind buy, but I would recommend giving it a chance. It’s very pretty without being overtly girly and is fresh and bright.

Very subtle, calming, almost linear scent. 90% lavender with a touch of lily of the valley and musk. It is a natural, realistic lavender, which I haven't found in many other fragrances. I don't pick up on any other notes individually. Likable and safe for a pleasant spring day, or good for a European vacation. It brought my mind right back to France even though I haven't been in over a decade. Out of the scents I've tried from this line (original Amazing Grace, Fresh Cream, and this), this is my personal favorite. Some might consider this a basic scent, but I haven't come across anything else quite like it. It takes common notes and does them exceptionally well. A definite "love" for me - this really boosted my mood!

Just ordered this from QVC in a trio of body wash, firming body lotion, both are 32oz. and a 120ml bottle of eau de toilette. This is a great deal! I get a really soft lavender with citrus in the opening. It does get sweeter in the dry down. It’s really nice! I’m pleasantly surprised. I happen to love lavender in my scents. This is definitely a softer type of scent that I’m sure with turn into a skin scent quickly but that’s ok because I work in healthcare and these types of scents are perfect.

I am always surprised by how pretty this is. It is slightly sweet. I definitely notice juicy grapefruit and rhubarb on my skin. And the lavender is soft and delicate not medicinal - thank goodness. Someone mentioned that this is a European vacation in a bottle. I agree. The countryside for sure. My only complaint. I wish the bottle was as pretty as the juice inside. I took removed the label to display it more simply in my collection.

Simple, fresh, and calming lavender. The lavender is the most prominent scent, and the others really just hang out in the background to enhance it and add just a bit of complexity. I would love this perfume if it had any staying power whatsoever... No one (including myself) could smell this perfume after about an hour of wear. You'll have to over-spray or apply to clothes if you really want it to last.

This is the lavender perfume I have been searching for. Finally a feminine lavender with some staying power and more strength than your usual Philosophy fragrance. She is gentle and calming a spa like but stays with you. A must have for a lavender lover. I adore wearing this just out of the shower or for bed. It’s perfect.

Soft and pretty. There is lavender and some notes that smell like soap. Longevity is great. I could smell it on myself in the late afternoon after applying that morning. I’ve ordered a bottle of this.

This is a very simple perfume. Lavender and a bit of musk. It's practically just lavender, but I love it. For me this lasts longer than other philosophy perfumes and has pretty good projection. I think this would be great with layering with other lavender perfumes, or if you want a lavender perfume that's just lavender.

I technically have the body butter of this but it acts more like a perfumed lotion. I really like this, probably because it’s more citrus focused than lavender focused. If you’re looking for something lavender heavy this is not the scent for you.

The lavender here is dialed way back, which is the only way I can stand it. A lot less forward/screechy than other recent AG flankers.

Hm. I'm not really getting lavender, here, at all. Grapefruit, yes, and jasmine and pepper. The good news is, it's nothing like the original, dull Amazing Grace. The bad news is, the citrus notes are a lot. To the point that they're swallowing up the lavender and musk. Maybe it's just my chemistry, and maybe it needs to sit a while. Right now it's reminding me of plastic, plumeria, and lemon peels. I'm bummed because I love a good lavender. Editing to add: I have solved this fragrance! If I dab on some lavender essential oil, and then spray Amazing Grace Lavender on top of it, it is perfect.

They have this at Ulta now if you’re interested in trying it out. I remember trying it out because I really liked the original Amazing Grace and thought that the addiction of lavender would make it even better. I was disappointed because of how weak it is; it reminded me of Pure Grace, which is also bland. If you’re a big lavender fan, do yourself a favor and test it on your skin before you buy it!

Opens with the distinct notes of pee and alcohol. Not very pleasant at all for the first ten minutes. Then it smelled like generic flowery perfume- I can't think of another way to describe it, because it's just a vague smell that's sharp yet inoffensive. It fades into a pleasant sugary scent then it's gone in a couple hours. Not stellar.

When you smell this in whiffs, it kind of seems just like lavender, but when you really smell it all the citrus comes in and it smells so nice. It smells good but i wouldn't get it full-sized. I'm not huge on lavender, but if you like lavender you'll like this perfume.

too soapy or something. I like regular grace and pure grace a lot but this is not one I care for. It has a drugstore smell that lingers and I don’t hate it but would rather smell like something else. not getting lavender but other purple flowers like lilac maybe.

i do like this just cause you cant really go wrong with lavandar but it did smell a little too artifical. couldve been since i only sprayed it in the air but oh well. 6.3/10

Wow. I am so unimpressed and uninspired by this, and I'm a born and bred lavender lover. Maybe that's my problem? This doesn't have much beyond a really simple base musk. In fact, it's nearly all *just* base musk with only the faintest essence of something herbal. Is there a little citrus too? Possibly, but it's very fleeting, even moreso than most citrus openings. It's not a bad scent at all, in fact, if you press your nose up into it it's quite pleasant. However, for the asking price this simply isn't worth it, and it's not a decisive lavender to my (yes, actually, I've grown up next to lavender farms and if I know any note, it's lavender) experienced nose. Totally lackluster.

I had high hopes for this! I’ve enjoyed several from the Grace line and thought this would be a winner. It opens as a calm, cool, slightly soapy lavender with a bright but smooth hit of citrus. The drydown is fluffy-musky, which is nice! What is not nice is how extremely salty and annoyingly soapy it becomes. It’s just too much of what can be a good thing. Sadly, this just needed to be blended with a lighter hand. Great lasting power, though, and pleasant projection ... an excellent frag on those fronts! I’m trying to find my perfect soapy lavender, so I guess I’ll keep looking!

Very underwhelming. Weak lavender and citrus scent that smells like the remnants of a cheap hand soap lingering on the skin.

Smells like hairspray. Overwhelmingly so. Too chemically and cheap-smelling.

I get all of the cheap synthetic fruity notes and a cheap musk but no lavender. Sad and makes me gag a bit when I smell it, has an almost spoiled fruit smell. Need to get this strip away from me pronto. Gross.

It smells like a grown up Love’s Baby Soft. Like the sweet teenager next door grew up to be a high-powered litigator. Even though it smells sweet and delicate it actually fools you into thinking it doesn’t project. But I waved my arms in front of my husband and he could smell it a little over my arms length and I’m pretty lanky. I sprayed it on in the store and immediately bought it because it smelled so close to LBS, which I had been looking for a good dupe for for so long. This will be my everyday scent. I can’t stop smelling myself and smiling.

This starts out sweet and herbal and I don't really detect any lavender. It's a clean scent, typical for this brand. It's green leaning with some citrus. Definitely unisex. It will be great in the summer. It's wonderful to wear right before bed or when you want a skin scent. It lasts a few hours on the skin but stays on clothing for a day.

I love the calming nature of lavender and I generally like Philosophy scents so I was very much looking forward to this one. Three times now I have tried this and all three times I can’t smell any lavender. All I get is berries. What a shame because I think a lavender scent could have layered beautifully with Pure Grace.

Bought this last summer and hated it. This summer I just love it ! Go figure ! Like others, I don’t get a lot of lavender but I am picking up on the rhubarb and other fruity notes and to me they are divine! Very fresh & pretty!

Great bedtime or relaxing reading a book scent! Very calming and aromatic
