Baby Grace

This is/was my favorite of the Philosophy Grace line-up. I have definitely noticed it makes disappearing and reappearing acts over the years - right now it's gone from the Philosophy site, but I doubt we've seen the last of it. I fell in love with this one right away, because to my nose it just smells like sweet, clean violets. To me there is nothing 'baby' about it all, except the name. And I don't even like babies or anything baby related - so I would never like this if it smelled like some weird baby products. Everyone I meet who smells this, likes and compliments the fragrance. Some say it smells like gardenia or jasmine - always some kind of floral, but everyone seems to smell something different, which is interesting. This is not a 'sexy, sensual or romantic' scent - this one for me, is pure relaxing comfort! So soothing for evening getting ready to sleep. I used to also use the shower gel and it was wonderful. Very recommended scent therapy for reducing stress :)

There is nothing babyish about this perfume. This perfume is what I would descibe as angelic. It so soft, pure, gentle and very pretty. I would say its brings the little girl out and makes you feel rather nostalgic for happy childhood days [but that maybe the words on the bottle influencing me....don't really care if it does.] A very fleeting fragrance but that gives you more reason to spray and experience this fragrance. A delightful and comforting fragrance.

My all time love. Love love love. For me it’s a relaxing at home scent💗 Calm, soft, delicately sweet- like soft violets and mimosa. Clean without being sharp, sweet without being a vanillabomb. That makes it super easy to wear even in hot weather. Close to the skin and very cozy for bedtime. I just LOVE it, I’ll never want to be without it! It reminds me of Vera Wang Embrace Iris & Periwinkle, but this is a touch less sugarsweet and has a soft musk base.

Some green and light powdery notes. Has mimosa but I always sensed some violets. A clean and comforting scent that I used for yoga or bedtime. This is a favorite that I recently finished. I’ve had my bottle for too many years and my old version says “for women who want to smell like a baby”. Would repurchase but it’s now not as accessible. A comforting scent that takes me back to childhood memories.

I found a 16 oz bottle of Baby Grace body lotion at TJ Maxx for only 20 bucks, and i absolutely love it!!!! I have been looking everywhere for this, on ebay everyone charges a boatload for it, and they wonder why they never sell it, I am super pleased with the scent, i use it at night before i go to bed and after the shower :) its a comforting smell for me :)<3

Just bought this a couple of days ago, bought it online before even trying it before. Thanks to the lovely reviews and descriptions here I trusted my 'on a whim' purchase. =) What a GORGEOUS scent. I'm in LOVE. Smells a lot like ' white cotton' scented candles by Yankee Candles, with a little flowery twist, and white musk. My new scent choice this month. hehe

Violets, powder, slightly clean white musk. Baby Grace comes tantalisingly close to the as yet un-recreated scent of a freshly washed plump infant in a dreft washed terry nappy and new babygro. Cotton hot off the press is the only way to describe it. Its sultry and hot tonight, and I need to feel soft and cool, so this does the job nicely.

The best "fresh laundry" scent I've ever smelled. Way better than Clean has in its line-up. You can smell the original Amazing Grace base in this. This isn't a loud scent. It will feel to other people that you just showered and put on freshly laundered clothes. This is so delicate but is perfect for this kind of scent. Just lovely

I just got this from Fragrancenet. Oh my gosh It smells the same as it did years ago. Different bottle. Love it! Boy I missed this scent. So fresh and summery clean, and it is pretty strong. I only wish they would bring back the matching body lotion! Update: found large bottles of body lotion and cream.

This is my signature scent. I am a doctor and people around me always notice the "fresh air" as opposed to the sterile air that always accompanies you in a hospital or health center setting. It smells innocent and pure, mildly fresh and not trying too hard. I love it! I wore it on my wedding day. :)

What a pretty fragrance! Baby Grace is the perfect title as it does remind me of a baby wrapped up in a warm blanket. Very pretty and soft. Just like Amazing Grace, this is not a perfume that makes a statement. Just a very light, "smell good" type of scent. I love it. :)

OMG... I love this so much, I am saddened its not around anymore - happy and joyful and simply perfect to sleep in - for me its very reminiscent of Classic Choward's Violet mints, punctuated with tender sweetness and a subliminal hint of lavender

I love it! It's smells so clean and pure, like white and pink waterlilys in a Swedish lake in blushing june. If you mix 1part Monyette Paris, 1part j'Adore Dior and 1part "spirit of moonflower" (by body shop) this is what you get. Amazing!

This used to be my comfort scent. Oh how I loved baby Grace.

This is discontinued but after craving a baby powder scent, I bought a "new" unopened one on ebay. You want to save a ton of money? Get THE EXACT SAME SMELL by bathing with johnson baby shampoo, same sillage too. You see this fragrance smells exactly like johnson baby shampoo, the yellow one. Powder, but with a noticeable hint of chemical detergent. I smell a powder note, a mild slight white floral and slight chemical note. Linear fragrance,apart from alcohol on first spray, there are no levels to this. The sillage is very weak. You have to be very close or use a ton to smell it. Longevity is moderate maybe 2 hours but with weak sillage. It isn't what I wanted, I wanted a very powdery talcum powder smell. I wanted a slight comforting vanilla note too. This is distinctly not baby powder but is definately baby shampoo (and not baby oil either) . Another fragrance it reminds me of is CLEAN shower fresh, when it has dried right down and is coming to the end of longevity, the mild faint trace that remains is like baby grace. who and when can you wear it? I think it's fine as unisex, a man wearing it will smell of inoffensive neutral mild soap and shampoo. Just clean and showered. Since it is so mild and neutral it can be worn any time of year, but would be great in fall with a cozy sweater and also in summer when you want a mild light smell.there are no sharp citrus notes here so it would be perfect for relaxing on the beach or q summer picnic when you want to just smell clean. Definitely not a evening scent unless you are going to bed TO SLEEP in comfy pajamas and cuddling your dog or teddy bear. On a night time date at a fancy restaurant or sophisticated event this scent is not enough at all. It is pretty smelling, clean and inoffensive so would be great for the office or church or weddings For women this scent could possibly be extremely sexy in a subtle way. I envision a woman age 26-36 with natural fresh makeup in a floral feminine demure dress and kitten heels with a soft gentle voice wearing this scent on a date. It's the fragrance equivalent to natural looking bare-faced date makeup - mascara and nude lip gloss . In an intimate setting, it is sexy because it has such close sillage and smells like subtle soap or shower gel, the guy assumes he is smelling you and your bare freshly soaped nude skin. I will be using it up but wouldn't buy again. In my search for perfect baby POWDER scent I will keep looking. For a clean soap or comforting freshly washed smell I will go back to CLEAN shower fresh, fresh laundry or warm cotton.

i genuinely can't decide how i feel about this perfume. i tried to like it at first and i kinda did, but now i'm reconsidering it. actually i'm smelling this again right now while writing and i kinda like it. this is so confusing lol. i don't smell baby powder like i saw someone else said. it smells floral-y, very airy smelling and fresh like the air outside. there's no cotton note listed, but it smells like that to me. it also has somewhat of a sharp opening. smells sweeter once you actually spray it though. and i have the new formulation i believe.

so lovely parfum.I have 3 bottle of baby grace spray fragnance and also i have hand cream, shower gels,and solid parfum. you can use in the summer in the winter or spring, day or night.very different scent.Philosophy brand parfums or spray fragnances are not long lasting because they are so light clean and feminine.If you want strong smell you can spray again.

i get musk as the strongest note first. i get mimosa too but there is a sort of herbal note that's a bit odd here, but only close up. wafting it's a gorgeous, comforting powdery floral. it kind of smells like freshly washed hair too. the mimosa gets stronger as time goes on and since i love mimosa, improves it for me. really pretty and cozy.

I have this in the solid-on me it smells just like Lush's 'Tuca Tuca' perfume but smoother.Like all of their scents though it stays very close to the skin-I wish it was just a *tad* stronger but it's still quite pretty.

@naksigulu-Since you have the whole collection can you tell me if the spray is stronger scented than the solid or are they the same?I literally have to jam my nose to my wrist to smell it at all.

I like this one ok but was somewhat disappointed with it because it just smells like philosophy's version of Love's Baby Soft. It doesn't last on me either. I will not buy this one again.

the notes list is seriously lacking! jasmine isn't listed but thats the strongest note i detect. the solid form of this has good staying power and smells lovely

I’m not super familiar with mimosa, but I’m guessing that’s what I get here. It’s not even necessarily “floral” ... it’s sweet, smooth, and a bit powdery. There’s also plenty of Philosophy’s signature “Grace” musk accord, but it’s fluffier here and not overly clean as it is in Amazing Grace or Pure Grace. Baby Grace is ok. It’s not a frequent wear for me, but there are times when other scents just won’t do. I do reach for this went I’m sick, probably because the marketing focused on this being the scent for when you needed comfort. Interesting how marketing can influence wear patterns. Anyway ... I digress. An easy wear for sweet floral/musk lovers.

I was expecting this to be softer.. less sharp. It does smell like baby powder but its almost.. old.. like it smells like old people. Kind of contradictory to its name. The opening is nice but the drydown isn't my favorite. I've heard the formulation has changed. I would have liked to smell it before it was altered. On one hand it smells like old people but on the other it smells like clean laundry... im not sure how to feel about it. Its ok.

Baby Grace Philosophy .. It smells clean like a freshly washed linen. Clean but not gentle. The opening is quite strong & has medicinal quality to it. Sweet musky and dry. Projects well and, to my surprise, lasts several hours. Laundry Room Grace .. I meant Baby Grace brings me back to the time where I had to help my mom wash all the clothes by hands and hang dry everything. It smells exactly like Breeze powder laundry soap widely sold & used in Thailand back in the 90s. 。v_v。

From the reviews here I wasn't expecting anything resembling baby powder etc, so no surprises there. It starts as a mellow floral, the mid tones reminded me of some kind of baby product (Johnson's baby wipes) and the base tones (that lasted for about 2 hours tops) had a chemical feel . Not for me, but glad that this appeals to others as perfume taste is so personal!

Very very subtle and just smelling like baby powder. I wouldn't want a scent like this. It's so unspectacular and has no facets. It's very close to the skin and one could think you are using baby skincare products. Strange effect.

what in the flying fuck is this?? it’s INSANELY sharp and medicinal. vile and rancid. it’s like there is bleach or paint remover in this or something. it’s like a heartbreakingly eerie cold nicu floor. or something chemically, sterile, and sweet like a cold, dated, non-insulated bathroom with a flickering light and a cup of cheap pearl air freshener behind the toilet. this is so scary. thought it would be powdery and soft, like a baby. what kind of baby smells like a drug store? not what i thought it was at all. never blind buying tj maxx perfume again. is this just a bad batch or reformulated? but $20 for 120ml was definitely too good to be true. i don’t think i can even sell this on marketplace for $20 because wtf. it’s like a 2000s dollar store encapsulated in a bottle. what kind of person in their right mind will wear this. i sprayed this on paper once and have a huge migraine.

I went crazy over this when my friend started wearing it because she always smelled so fresh and clean and pretty. I know many people say the clean/fresh perfumes are boring, but to me, if your perfume wears YOU, you're doing it wrong. Anyway, I had to get a bottle based on how nuts I was for this scent, and I thought for sure I'd found my new go-to day fragrance. No. Just NO. What was so gorgeous on my friend gave me a feeling of wanting to shower for a few hours or roll in mud or ANYTHING to get it off of me. It gave me migraines, made me sick to my stomach, and in general just collided with my body chemistry in such a bad way that people actually commented. Not the perfume's fault, but when you smell like warm grape Kool-Aid, you start to hate life. Needless to say, my friend was quite relieved when I gifted her a full bottle of her signature scent, and all was right in the world again. I know this scent is discontinued, but if you run across a bottle (these things happen from time to time), I would still recommend it. You may be one of the lucky ones who can wear this pretty, delicate fragrance. Or you may never drink Grape Kool-Aid again.

When I layer BG with the shower gel and lotion, the fragrance lasts virtually forever and everyone loves this scent, as well as Amazing Grace and Pure Grace because they are lovely fragrances but not too strong or overwhelming. I want people to notice I smell nice but not be knocked over by it, which is what this trio of Graces do for you. I am also very scent "allergic" when it comes to perfumes, some giving me a headache or instant sick feeling but the Grace fragrances do not affect you in this manner at all. I wore BG to the funeral of a well liked relative last year and everyone who hugged me commented on the scent, saying how calming and soothing it was to them. You can't ask for a better compliment of your fragrance than that. Proof that it is indeed, aromatherapy.

Lovely perfume in Philosophy's style which create mix emotion to me. Clean, not simple but not wierd, sweet but not too sweet and innocent but not baby powder. and it's last longer on me which i can smell it in the evening after 1 spray in the morning. Everytime i wear it, i definitely asked from people about the scent.....but in different way. In the cold day, it's will be "oh you smell so lovely" but in the hot day, it will turn to be "who spray something??! it's so headache". That's why i use a half of bottle but still cannot decide that i like it or not. Anyway, it's unique scent i can confirm. but beware to spray too much in the hot day.

My fave of the Grace line, it's soft, musky, powdery. Can't pick out any specific notes but I love to wear this to bed and around the house. It doesn't last very long so these scents are best found for cheap on eBay, the price is a little steep at Sephora for what you get. The name weirds me out and it's strange for a 37 year old woman to have a scent that says "baby" on her vanity, but oh well! It's a nice one and I'll keep it around for lazy Sundays and when I'm around small children and the elderly. Layer it with Egyptian musk oil for longevity and to take it to a grown up level!

I like how mellow and close to the skin this scent is. It doesn't last very long, or project very far. In fact, I can spritz this in my car for the morning commute, and by the time I get to work it is almost undetectable... Which is what I want as I work in healthcare and can't wear any loud fragrances. Instead, I just have his lovely clean and fresh scent. I detect white flowers and jasmine, followed by a bubble bath I had in second grade. For me, this is a calming scent great for close contact.

I don't own the perfume but had the shower gel. That was the ultimate blow that sealed my dislike for Philosophy's body washes. Harsh ivory soap which bitterness got amplified until you retch. I've also tried Dulce de Leche (faint, burnt plasticky caramel), Amazing Grace (generic feminine) and Fresh Cream (barely there, forgettable). The Snow Angel body cream just smells like green apples. Really, their body lines are overpriced jokes, I can't believe I've ever lusted for those.

Philosophy has wonderful subtil fragrances, and this one was so distinct and unusual. I really liked it, but the thing is.. you really do smell like a baby.. "No mam please don't spray your baby with that." Perplexed as to why it says 'Baby'.. (Why-you-do-that philosophy???) Not to mention the VERY irrational advice on the bottle label.. hahaha. Try and find a bottle and you'll understand what I mean. RIP Baby Grace.. sorry, but Pure Grace fired you.

Coty: PLEASE DO BRING THE OLD FORMULATIONS BACK. None of these scents are what they used to be. Sell it for more if all you care is money. It’s such a shame to play with the original integrity of a scent and still sell it with the SAME NAME. Many designers also are doing that..and you know what, we DO NOT BUY anymore. Respect the old formulas and us who are the reason you are there. There. I said it.

Lasting Power is almost non existent. B&BW Sea Island cotton lasts longer. Scent wise it is quite addicting for me but I have been told I smell like a certain diaper rash ointment called Desitin or cheap soap. It's a love or hate thing. IMO it smells like fabric softener on clean sheets or shirts. Addicting.

This scent is like a cuddle in a bottle. It wraps its arms around with you with sweet kisses of violets, poppies and mimosa.. It caresses your soul with whispers of white woods and lulls you into peace with a touch of musk. This is absolute perfection when you just want to be still with yourself. I love it.

My favorite of all the Graces. It's nice to wear in the spring and summer. Very soft without being too frilly or prissy. I don't know if honeysuckle is included in the ingredients, but that's what I smell. Not just honeysuckle alone, but drifts of it. Getting to be hard to find. Worth the effort though.

This is a lovely, light, fresh type of scent. It's a soft, sunny floral. Snuggly, unassuming, and casual. It reminds me of a perfume they would make for little girls, and makes me think of hugging a small girl on a warm summer day and smelling her hair. I get absolutely no powder from this scent.

Just a little update for those who love Baby Grace and are unable to find it, it is because it is currently available exclusive to QVC. They have it in every formulation though so if you love it and need some now just head to QVC for it. Hope that helps some of you! :)

One of my favorites and a regular in my weekly line-up. I get complimented a lot on this fragrance when I wear it. My 13 year old daughter has occasionally stolen a spritz or two, and she has told me that her friends and classmates tell her she smells good.

Baby Grace reminds me of a baby! There are times when we need to be babied and this fragrance fits the bill! It's tender and loving..a little on the baby powder side but way better! I enjoy this from time to time although Pure Grace is my favorite.

For those who love this scent, it is exclusively available at QVC now. Today, 4.12.14 they have a Today's Special Value with Baby Grace as one of the fragrances you can order! YAY for me! Hope YAY for you, too. :)

This is a "you smell good" verses a "your perfume smells good" kind of fragrance. Not at all baby powder like, but clean and innocent. I just wish it would last longer. Even the creme disappears quickly.

This fragrance is a very pretty, clean and calming. I can describe it as mix of jasmine, white tea and a kind of a good quality laundry detergent, may be it's their interpretation of mimosa :-D.

This is my favorite of all The Philosophy fragrances. It is a combination of clean & sweet but not too sweet. I just wish it lasted longer. I can put it on & an hour later its nearly gone.

I.have just got out of a hot bath and sprayed myself with baby grace..... So pure and sweet and comforting 🥰 Such beautiful perfume that makes me feel relaxed...I like to wear this to bed

Violet and poppy were given as notes on an advertising listing I recently saw. It drives me crazy when fragrance notes aren't made readily available to consumers.
