Fresh Cream

I’ve spent a couple days with this fragrance so far and I’ve decided I really love it. I first smelled it on a test strip and was immediately taken by that realistic, fatty whipped cream scent. I was a little apprehensive that it may pull too vanilla—I tend to avoid vanilla fragrances as I find them boring at best and cloying at worst—but the full warm, milky scent of this really saves it. It reminds me so much of when you’re about to take a sip of a hot latte from a mug and you can smell the melting whipped cream on top, or like melting vanilla ice cream. not like vanilla bean ice cream, but that real shit—rich, pale yellow, fluffy, you know the kind. I think what other people are describing as sour I would say hits my nose as tart, like how a lightly sweetened yogurt smells tart. it definitely does not give spoiled milk or vomit to me, and is actually my favorite facet of this scent—it could’ve so easily veered into an underwhelming, run-of-the-mill vanilla type of scent, but that tartness paired with realistic, warm milk totally saved and elevated this. it’s like vanilla extract mixing with the natural sweetness released from the sugars in milk when you heat it up. unless you’re reallyyy not used to actual funky perfumes, I wouldn’t say this is even remotely funky, but it is realistic—if you don’t like the actual smell of milk, I don’t think you'll like this, and if you happen to get hot/sweat while wearing this, it will amplify that richness. I’m personally a huge fan of that, but I can see others not feeling that as much. also worth noting that despite it being listed as a note, I don’t get powder from this at all. this projects for about 3 hours and settles close to the skin from there on out. I can only catch traces after about 8 hours. about what I expected from an edt, so no tragedy there, but you get a good amount for a fairly easy to swallow price, so I haven’t been bothered by having to reapply. my only real complaint is that I wish it didn’t turn sweeter on my skin, but my skin tends to do that with most perfumes, so I’ll blame that on my chemistry. I’m 8/10 levels of loving this, but it’d be a solid 10/10 if it smelled on my skin the same way it does straight out of the nozzle. that said, I think this will satisfy your nose if you like sweet scents, but aren’t crazy about a sugar OD. aside from my interest in the scent profile, I also got this to rotate into regular wear to help my stupidly expensive main fragrance last longer, as once it runs out, I won’t be able to get more for a looong time, so I’m also very satisfied with this on that front. very every day wearable, and a lovely marriage of palatable and interesting. this is the first fragrance I’ve found out in the wild in a long time that I found really compelling, so all in all I’m very happy with this!

My ride and die. My safety blanket. They could never make me hate you. I read a lot of people layer this but I have ALWAYS worn it by itself. It was love at first sniff, I've gone through 5 bottles in 3 or 4 years? The scent opens with a cute punch of whipped cream, sweet. Bam! It's like suddenly I have my armor on, but it's made of fluff, but it's doing its job. It's HEAVY on the whipped cream part, which is why I would not see someone who is more chill wearing this. In fact, it's more for women who probably have some type of issue and need something to hold onto for safety, this perfume. No, this perfume is for women and girls who are bubbly, cute, a lot. If a person also liked this smell ON me, I would say they have issues too OR they wish they could one day swim in a tub of sweet sugary puppies. However, oddly enough, I've had guys tell me I smell like flowers. Go chemistry I guess. If applied to clothing, it lasts forever in my experience. Could someone quiet wear this? Yes, but I bet they're a whole lot of person. The perfume is not for someone who wants to be invisible. However, note that I have lost track of how much I spray. Is it milky? 1000% yes. It's pure whipped cream to me and the most delicious thing I have ever smelled. It's not elegant, it's not fresh, it's not sweet in a red way. It is bam! and aww and oh? It is creamy, and A LOT. It's like if whipped cream could be a light switch, a light bulb, and then said light bulb gives you a hug and then you think to yourself, "I am not alone" and no one knows you're thinking these crazy things so they just go "aww she's nice."

Fresh Cream by Philosophy, where to begin... I think this is a wonderful fragrance! To me it smells like very cold whipping cream from the refrigerator with the sugar mixed in to sweeten it then a few drops of pure vanilla just for comfort. This such a light and airy scent though. It is almost what makes it so hard to convey in words. There also is what seems to be maybe a drop of citrus (my guess is manderine, but that is a guess) that is not noticeable in a note type of way, it is like it is there just to make the fragrance bright and not heavy. It is wonderful on alone and I have layered it now too with a couple other perfumes and it is a great way to tweak a perfume to be a bit more creamy. I do own Lann-Ael and I get the compairison. It is not that they smell exactly the same it is that sweet light milk scent they both have that just wraps you in comfort. I LOVE Lann-Ael as well. The lasting power for me on this fragrance is about 6 hours or so (I voted moderate) and the sillage starts out moderate, but I would say by hour 6 it is close to the skin on me. I actually blind bought this and I have not one regret; infact had I passed up purchasing it and smelled it later only to find out I could not get it I would be very annoyed with myself. This will be a comfort scent for me in all seasons as well as a great perfume to layer with other fragrances.

At long last I found the perfect milky, creamy perfume that I was beginning to think only existed in my mind. Fresh Cream smells like a vanilla steamer--scalded, fatty whole milk with vanilla syrup. It hits your skin like a tame, creamy version of Buttered Popcorn Jelly Bellys. It's not that sweet, which was a nice surprise; however it does sweeten up in the heart. Also in the heart you can smell a touch of powder as well as some very obscure florals, but they are just right! This perfume is all about creaminess and milkiness. It's more of a novelty scent for me. When I smell this, I think of being home on a rainy day, curled up on the couch with an ultra soft blanket and a good book. I'm not sure I would want to smell like this around other people, as I don't aspire to smell like vanilla milkshakes. This one is just for moi. Fresh Cream reminds me just a little bit of those kinds of perfumes that smell like vintage powder compacts or broken Chanel makeup at the bottom of a purse, probably because of the floral and powdery notes, but then pour a scalding hot vanilla steamer into the purse and there you have it. Seriously love love love this stuff!

The best for layering! I always crave a creamy note and got tired of searching for it and wishing for more in every fragrance. Now I just have a huge bottle of Fresh Cream and I layer it with literally every fragrance I have! Highly recommend the body lotion as well. I mix a little of the lotion in my hands with all my other lotions. This scent just makes sense in lotion form, so I would try it if the EDT feels too weird at first, but on dry down they are the same. I understand people not liking this though. When I first smelled it on my skin I did get that heavy milky baby spit up feeling and it scared me away. And yeah for the name Fresh Cream it’s really not that fresh! But I always came back to it and I found that layering it really freshens it up and then you can really enjoy the creaminess. Goes well with basically everything - florals, fruits, freshies, honey, spice, woods... try it, you may like it.

This is the only bottle of perfume that provides me some sort of safety when I’m feeling pretty depressed. I have purchased more than 5 bottles at this point ever since it came out years ago, and I’m still really obsessed. If you are attracted to gourmet scent (sweet, powdery, soft etc) you will absolutely adore this bottle!! Yes, it smells like sweet whipped cream, but in a good way. This might not be your type of scent if you are into something with a bit of an edge/spice to it. This bottle is totally a soft pink girly girl type of vibe. Not your typical clean, soapy scent at all. This will make you feel so at peace and happy (if you have a sweet tooth) Also trust me on this one... I smelled nothing like this EVER before. (This is coming from someone that wants to smell like a dessert 24/7) Please never discontinue this fragrance... otherwise I will be so sad ;(

Creamy, sweet, milky, comforting. Beautifully comforting and sweet chantilly with this soft and hearty warmth which nostalgically evokes the old memory of drinking your childhood warm milk. It’s so youthfully lovely, distinctly juvenile in the good and versatile sense of Pixar family films in that adults can wear and enjoy it too imo. Honestly, I love this as an at-home fragrance lol, reminds me of baby formula😹 I wouldn’t wear this too frequently out though unless I’m looking to be perceived as especially youthful and babyish, lol. If Blanche Bête is the lactonic ideal of a fragrance through the maternal lens, this is the lactonic ideal of a fragrance through the filial lens.

Fresh Cream has been a repeated buy for me as a gourmand lover, and it can make any scent smell like a cake. I'm not sure about the users who believe it smells rancid or like spit-up, but for me, it is exactly as named—a primary, single-level scent of lactonic whipped cream and sugar. That's it! I pair it with BBW scents like Strawberry Poundcake, Strawberry Snowflakes, Lemon Iced Poundcake, etc. It's especially great with chocolate scents or even alone. With the overwhelmingly bad reviews for this scent, maybe it's not a blind buy, and you should visit Ulta to try it first! 0.5 oz size is available on Amazon too, so if you're willing, you don't have to spend much to try.

Super milky and creamy with a nice touch of sweetness. I don’t get any candy or floral notes but the milk + powdery notes combo has a bit of a breadyness that reminds me a little of Chabaud Lait Concentré, but I don’t get any sweetness in Lait Concentré whatsoever. Quite similar to Maison Margiela Afternoon Delight but a bit less cookie-like. Has minimal sillage and lasts all day on me. In terms of other perfumes listed as similar— ❌ Commodity Milk: much woodier and nowhere near as creamy ❌ Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Milk: smells like sour cereal milk ❌ Pierre Guillaume Musc Maori: a sour floral scent ❌ SDJ ‘71: deeper, nuttier, and more cookie-like

I love this perfume. I'd been on the hunt for a whipped cream scent that is more true to cream and less so to the artificial "whipped cream" scents that I've tried in the past. As it sits on the shelf it becomes much stronger, so I'd warn people to perhaps spray less the longer it's been in your collection. I also like to use this as a layering perfume with vanilla scents to get a sort of vanilla ice cream perfume. Overall, I think it's a great value and I've used a whole bottle. I think it's better than the cashmere version and if somebody is looking for a sweet cream scent that this is the one they should go for.

I want my whole entire life to smell like this fragrance. It's a sweet and creamy milk scent in the best way possible. Like a vanilla milkshake and a homemade Rice Krispie treat. It is so cozy and comforting. I am so grateful that this works with my body chemistry because it is a staple in my collection and I reach for it all the time during the colder months. It is also a great perfume for layering with other fragrances. Based on the negative reviews, this is definitely not a safe blind buy. I love love love this fragrance and I get so excited when I get to wear it 🤍🥛☁️

I’m a vanilla girl at heart, and this fragrance smells like the vanilla you find in ice cream shops—almost like a fresh-baked waffle cone🍦. Today I found it at TJ Maxx for $24.99 and bought it for the second time! I also have the lotion and body cream, which I love. I think it’s a great basic base for layering with other fragrances or wearing on its own—which I especially love after a shower before bed, or in the morning before the gym or Pilates. I also work with kids, so it’s a nice close-to-the-skin fragrance. I really love Philosophy for that! 🫶

This may be a polarizing comment, but this is one of my top perfumes for life. It super creamy, almost salty but not in a summer type of way. When I smell it, my nose can't believe how good it smells...every...single...time. Does it smell like fresh whipped cream? No. However, one day I bought a squeeze packet of sweetened evaporated milk for a coffee concoction and when I opened it got a HUGE whiff of the exact same scent. So, they nailed sweet evaporated milk on this one ha. I will always have a bottle of this.

Fresh Cream is the most realistic creamy fragrances available. It smells like fresh whipped cream, sweet milk, creating a light, airy dessert scent that’s comforting while being sugary. The fragrance stays soft throughout the wear, making it perfect for those who want to smell clean, creamy, and subtly sweet. It’s also an amazing layering fragrance that enhances almost any vanilla or caramel perfume. Genuinely just whipped cream in a bottle, one of my first very vanilla perfumes and it did not disappoint.

Definitely in my top 5 favorite fragrances---it's sweet but not too sweet, warm and fresh at the same time, almost everything I could want in a perfume. BUT the sillage is very weak. It is an EDT so it won't last as long either. I'd give it a 10/10 if they made an EDP. Nonetheless, I love it. It smells like whipped cream, vanilla, and oddly enough...fruit loops? In the best way possible. A lot of perfumes with lactonic/whipped cream notes miss the mark by a long shot, but this one comes VERY close.

I've had this for a few years, it's a very simple and soft cream scent. I don't really understand the sour/spoiled smell people get from this, to me it truly just smells exactly what the name is, fresh cream! It's not complex if you're looking for that, and it's not super signature scent worthy if that's what you're looking for too. It's the perfume I wear when I don't want to wear perfume, and it doesn't smell overly offensive or sickly sweet like some gourmands. Overall this is a good easy scent.

I love this perfume a lot and have been wearing this too many times. I love how milk scented it is and I don’t know if it’s just me but it really smells like warm powered milk. Reminds me when I was young and my aunt would force me and cousins to drink canned milk. I love to layer it with other milk and vanilla scents like Bare sueded vanilla and cupcake swirl. So yummy! To my cozy and vanilla girlies you would love this scent and I PROMISE it does not smell like spoiled milk...

As much as I like spicier, more intricate fragrances, I love this. It's great for bedtime or when I don't feel like wearing something more outgoing, say in office situations. It's just comfortable and smells lovely. I was shocked to see some people were describing it as sour; it's a shame that's how it reads on their skin, by their nose, etc. For me, the name says it all, it's fresh whipped cream through and through, or milk from a cereal bowl. Not too sweet, and just simple.

This perfume is magic. My family members are super sensitive to scents so I often can't wear any fragrance around them but this, this hasn't had a single issue. It smells like wrapping yourself in soft blankets in front of a fireplace after a day in the snow. It's sweet, subtle, and almost respectful in it's sillage. I want to drown myself in this perfume. If you are afraid of blind buying this due to some experiencing a sourness, please give it a try at least once.

Absolutely delicious. I think it’s actually better than the Warm Cashmere variant, which smells like basically every girl you’ll meet in her early-to-mid-twenties, afraid of fun and too self-conscious to take up space. This one is sweet, lactonic (a sugary milk!) and vanilla-forward without necessarily giving “teenager”, at least not to me. She’s soft and comforting. It’s lovely to layer with more unisex vanilla fragrances and perfume oils.

This is the quintessential lactonic fragrance. At times, it pulls bright and sharp (almost sour) on my skin, smelling like a fresh bowl of Greek yogurt. On other occasions, it settles into the skin like a creamy lotion. When it leans more mellow, it smells like a glass of warm milk before bedtime. Slightly sweet, milky, smooth. Lately I've been wearing it to bed, or around the house in the evenings. It's gentle, cozy, and comforting.

This is THE BEST GOURMAND I have ever whiffed! Creamy cream whipped up all whippy and sugared with that airy vanilla. Not the bourbon vanilla beans but a super fresh and summery angel food cake vanilla. This on top of Le Labo’s Another 13 gives this a mega boost of power and staying power. Its back up bottle worthy and I’ll admit I have 5 just in case.

I really love this perfume. I know a lot of people feel like it smells spoiled on their skin but I think that must be a skin chemistry thing because it smells so sweet and warm on me. When I was a child my family would give us kids cup of warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar at night and that’s the exact smell I get from this. Warm cozy sleepy time scent

I don’t know HOW this fragrance does it, but this perfume can either be amazingly sweet and milky on the skin, or smell absolutely rancid and curdled depending on the day. I continue to buy it because I absolutely adore it when it smells good to me, in concept it would be the perfect laconic vanilla perfume, but it is too inconsistent.

Fresh cream is exactly the sweet,cold, lactonic smell you encounter when you enter an Italian latteria where they still have the big machine that makes the most delicious freshly whipped cream. I truly feel sorry for the people who are only familiar with canned cream who connects this to spoiled milk.

I am absolutely obsessed with this. I'm also marshmallow scent obsessed as well. This gives marshmallows without even having a marshmallow note. The body wash and butter butter also smell heavenly. This gives me the vibe I'm up in the clouds in a soft paradise. Forever one of my favorite fragrances.

Smells so pretty and light, it can smell a little “off” right after spraying but give it a few minutes and it will smell exactly like EOS’s vanilla cashmere lotion/body wash. Perfect daytime, sweet and girly scent, matches well with Sweet Tooth by Sabrina. Definitely 9/10.

I was afraid to try this one after reading the reviews, but the combination of notes intrigued me so I bought a decant sample. On my skin, this smells a lot like a funnel cake. I smell soft sweet fried cake batter and powdered sugar. It was soothing.

It doesn't smell like sour milk on me, so I count myself lucky on that! Very light, airy. Smells almost exactly like whipped cream. Comforting and cozy. I get nose blind to it pretty quickly when I put it on, but others can still smell it thankfully!

some of these reviews are coming across like they are bitter that the fragrance didn't work for them It smells nothing like vomit or spoiled milk or baby spit up. It smells creamy and sweet. I thought it would be a safe blind buy, and it was.

If you want all lactonic and nothing else this is the one. Straight up sweet cream. I've been wearing this for years and always get compliments on it. I usually wear it alone, but sometimes will layer with something floral.

For me this is a sweet, creamy lactic fragrance. Is warm, comforting and cozy and is an easy grab in the cooler months. It doesn’t turn sour or anything on my skin but YMMV as with all lactonic scents.

just perfect. subtle vanilla and a perfect actually sweet milk scent. i got the lotion first and despised it, but the dry down is such a classic realistic vanilla. no alcohol scent in the slightest.

I have been wanting to smell this for years. And I love it. Though, it’s not what I was expecting. To me, it smells like English-style rice pudding. It has a baked, creamy smell. Delicious.

To me this smells straight up like a bowl of whipped cream. I don't get any sour or rotten smell from it, just fresh whipped cream. Maybe cereal milk from like Lucky Charms

The milkiest, and most creamy perfume. I like layering with other perfumes to make them more creamy and it works so well.

This is what got me into perfumes. Perfect for daytime wear. It's a little juvenile, but is at a good price point.

i was really nervous buying this as i was looking for a perfume that smells specifically for vanilla bean custard (and not just a traditional vanilla) and i was told this was a good shout, but a lot of people were ranting about the baby sick or sour cream smell. so i got a small bottle and honestly... i do not get the baby sick or sour cream smell people are on about. perhaps this perfume has some inconsistent production issues? i wouldn't say it was quite what i was looking for as a vanilla bean custard, but it's definitely got a warm sugary creaminess to it that i like. there's a tiny bit of sourness to it, but nothing overwhelming like some of the other people are making out. it's honestly not that strong which is a shame, but it does leave a very faint linger even after quite a while. i probably won't re-buy it, but i'm really struggling to smell the bad things others seem to sense. it's really not that bad.

At first I could not smell this. Just the alcohol. Then my daughter could smell it on me, and it reminded her of vomit. I didn’t get that, but I could barely get anything. I tried a tip from a friend to mix it with Bath & Body Works Milk. That made BBW Milk actually smell lactonic and not just floral. I am still on the fence about returning it. Does not project or last long, but maybe in time it would. For $16.99 at Marshalls it seems worthy of a second chance. I am training my nose to identify lactonics. Lactea Divina (Blanche Bête) is the only one that smells creamy to me, but it is largely from the tuberose note. I love the name of Fresh Cream, and I wish I still had Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere to layer it. So cozy. I find the Philosphy bottles too simple and cheap-looking. I wish they were refillable like Demeter bottles since they look so similar to those.

I have all the expensive $500 dollar bottles sitting on my dresser, but am drawn to this every day. It’s soft, creamy, not sickening vanilla like I smell on all the young women in the gym but just nice and comforting and easy to wear. I think the sour smell that people are smelling is more like a saltiness. I smell the Ohio State Fair in the 70s.... All the trucks filled with sweet and salty treats. I can’t place the exact one, but it’s coming to me. It needs more than one spray but that’s okay. I don’t like the kind of perfume that I’m nervous to even get one full douse for fear of overpowering my work environment. It’s a win for me!! Edited to add I thought of it! Those roasted sweet nuts that they have under a heat lamp in a food truck and put in skinny popcorn bags. That’s what it reminds me of.

For how mild this fragrance is, the layers surprised me. Upon first applying, it smells like drinking a vanilla milkshake with luxury makeup on. After 15 minutes, I start to understand why it’s frequently described as reminiscent to baby puke. To me, it registers as plain heavy cream. The initial sweetness definitely hides under the lactonic notes. Finally after several hours of wear, it smells less like a perfume and more like “you”. The sillage drops from about 3 feet to maybe 6 inches. It’s hardly noticeable, but just enough to feel fresh. The scent transforms into marshmallows and baby doll heads. Those sweet, powdery notes are what’s left behind. All around, it’s an extremely maternal scent. It smells like a stay at home mom who loves to bake.

This, like EB Vanilla milk (they dont smell alike), is another fragrance where bottle age reallllly matters and drastically changes the scent. Had a 15ml mini i loved and used up quickly, just a very light, inoffensive classic sweet creamy scent, no florals or spice, great for probable migraine days- like think a lighter Mochi milk without the clean musk base or an unmacerated bottle of Nemat vanilla musk edp. Bought a 2 oz and while it's similar-ish, it now has this sourish scent upon drydown that I don't love and that I didn't get at all with the previous smaller bottle. EDIT: 1/14 Just bought a trio set of the 8 oz body cream, a 15ml and a 2 oz for $30 total - i figured I'd chance it again for that price! Thankfully its good again!

honestly, what can i say? its easily my most favorite perfume ever i dislike most vanilla perfumes because companies always find a way to make it sickly sweet or smell too synthetic or perfume-y. that was until i got my hands on this liquid gold... first impression was that it was a soft, heavy milky scent. i love love loooove milky scents, so i wasnt complaining. and then after a few minutes this perfume goes from warm milk to a creamy vanilla ice cream type of scent, its pure heaven. it smells sooooo delicious and id eat this if i could. my only (minor) complaint is that its not that strong, nor does it stay very long. i wishhh philosophy would make an EDP of this, itd would be the only thing id wear if they did!!

i hated this perfume at first, i was influenced to buy it from some people and it was said that its a very milky scent on the other hand, some people said it smelt like spoiled milk. i blind bought it (don't do what i did) and i smelt it and absolutely understood what they meant by spoiled milk. however, as it dried down it turned to more of a milky, whipped cream sort of smell, which i sort of loved but hated, then i paired it with some of my other fragrances, yara by lattafa for example. smells great with other paired fragrances, specifically vanillary or milky and powdery fragrances. its a hit or miss if youll like it, if you like milky fragrances def go for it, if you dont definitely do not get it. (7/10)

At first spray I got too many florals and was gonna cry, but when it tried down I LOVED it! For a fragrance this is as close to a freshly whipped bowl of cream is gonna get. It's milky, vanilla, perfection. HOWEVER, it's stronger on skin than the testing strip, but I think the silage is still very low. I'm not a fan of fragrances that you spend money on only for no one to notice, so I won't repurchase but perhaps for layering purposes I'll keep it. Longevity is fine. If you want a milky vanilla with strong projection, may I recommend the ever popular Lattafa Eclair or Bianco Latte. (Personally, I think Eclair is better and BL lacks milkiness)

i was so scared to buy this because of all the 'baby vomit' reviews, but it's so cheap i just went for it and was pleasantly surprised. it's a warm, sweet, comforting lactonic that dries down to a powdery vanilla. it's a very weak fragrance that sits close to the skin, which gives it this very natural, intimate vibe (especially since it has very subtle savory notes). to me it smells quite motherly, in a very comforting way. it's nice to wear around home on a cozy evening with your loved ones, but probably not ideal for a day-to-day signature scent unless you're a stay at home mum.

this is really lovely. for me, this is a fragrance for bed time. it does play a little trick in the opening where it almost, almost skews to playdough, with that odd synthetic sweet powder mixture, but after letting it warm on your skin for a minute it really does smell just like sweet cream. this stays on my clothes for a long time, and on my skin for a good few hours—that being said i think i'm one of the lucky few to experience this. there's a lot of soft, warm cotton straight out of the dryer, and a delicate richness—not overpowering, just cosy. wonderful little gem!

This fragrance reminds me of Lush’s vanilla fountain bath bomb, or some kind of baked vanilla custard pudding. It is sweet and light with just a touch of something spiced, like a dusting of cinnamon. I think, in pursuit of “freshness”, a slightly sour note has been added. While I don’t think it delivers on that intention, I don’t find it as offensive or overpowering as some other commenters - just a hint of something unexpected. Overall this is a fairly simple, pleasant skin scent which might be suitable for layering.
