Lemon

I love this perfume so much and I'm so sad that it's out of print along with the Mint Tea and Sugar that made up the tea party triptych. Lemon is just that, a burst of fresh lemon wedge. Layered together all three fragrances created a symphony of sweet gourmands.

A tarter and (ever so slightly) less sweet Lemon Drop candy. Bright and happy. Charming. Drydown turns a little “lemon cleaner” ... I guess this is the verbena! Pretty good projection and lasting power on this one, but it can get a bit heavy over wear time.

I remember this; it was part of a limited edition trilogy of Tea Party fragrances. The idea was great; they could be worn alone or layered as disired. I had Sugar (horrid on me) and Lemon. The third fragrance was Tea (this was the one I really wanted, but couldn't find). Lemon started nicely; very fresh and tart, just what I was looking for. But for some reason it soon developed to a sugary syrup. This seemed very pointless to me since they had Sugar, if you wanted to layer it. Why add sugary notes to the other 2 editions? A bit of a waste.

This starts off as lemon, bright and tart, and something about it almost reminds me of a lemon Mr. Sketch scented marker or scratch-n-sniff sticker (in a good way). However, if you look at the notes, it says lemon, verbena, and "other citruses", and I'm wondering if one of the other citruses might be yuzu or something similar? I agree with the first reviewer Malibu below, it gets sugary. To my nose it's more of a sugary yuzu. It's okay, but not as lemony as I was hoping for.

Why isn't "Philosophy, the fragrance" listed on this site? It too has a lemon aura to it. At first I thought this might be the same, but I'm not sure.
