Pure Grace Nude Rose

Okay. So I'm in love. Pure Grace Nude Rose reminds me of a Barbie perfume I got in the mid 80's when I was about 5 years old. I'll try to take you down my memory's lane: Nude Rose is a very clean, laundry scent, as others have described, but not in a weird way.. it's done in a delicate, perfume way! Not too powerful, but more of a skin scent that you secretly enjoy when you're sitting in a quiet room and you can't stop smelling your wrists. It's "rose" without all the fuss. Not too floral, not sweet at all.. If you like skin scents, clean scents, or perfumes like Jovan White Musk, then you've gotta try this lovely juice!! It's more of a creamy, lotion-like, rose. Fancy makeup and lipsticks. It's the Prima Ballerina's scent backstage, before the show goes on, and she's lacing up the ribbons of her ballet slippers. There are two dozen roses in her dressing room, and she spritzes on a soft, clean musky scent that mingles with the roses and makeup, just ever-so-slightly. And then she steps into the spotlight. This is what I get from Nude Rose. LOVE.

YYYYESEEESSSSSS. I thought a long time about how to describe this. And here's what I came up with. A gentle breeze wafts through a garden of roses, neroli, and orange blossoms, catching the floral essences of the flowers and the cool green wet leaf scent too. The breeze sneaks through an open bathroom window and caresses a big wet bar of French milled soap. Then the breeze blows into a bedroom, over wood furniture, over your sheets, and finally onto your skin. This is well composed, classic, feminine (not girly), remarkable scent. It is simple but not simplistic. It's approachable, and once you're close, you want to stay there. It's sincere, open, honest, not pretentious, smart and real. I wished it lasted longer, but I'm going to splurge for the rare eau de parfum. A purse-sized spray is available, I'll touch up, no problem. Holy grail signature scent, world without end, amen.

I smelled this fragrance on a friend at a convention. That tells you the whole story, right there. We’re at a CONVENTION with over 1,000 people and she’s the only person’s fragrance that I compliment in two days. I bombarded her with questions and she, without hesitation, gave me the deets. It is with the lovely Nude Rose that I fell head over heals with rose fragrances. Before this I was a sandalwood, patchouli, oriental spice kinda girl. It added variety into my olfactory palate and for this I am grateful! If you like this, in my opinion, you will also enjoy: YSL's Parisienne, Estee Lauder's Modern Muse Le Rouge, as well as, Modern Muse Eu de Rouge. Good News! As of today, 11/07/2021, Nude Rose is still availabe at the retail level. So go on, if you're a rose lover: PICK THIS ONE UP! :)

This is incredibly fresh, clean and powdery woodsy. It’s soft in nature and maybe it’s just me but becomes a skin scent quite quickly. I first tried this when I was pregnant and it was snowing outside, not sure I’m I am becoming more sentimental but it’s definitely created a memory for me. There is something expensive and nostalgic about it although it’s not a screamer. This makes me think it will be pleasant and uncloying in the summer months too. Subtle elegance but will need reapplying after a few hours. New firm favourite and I simply adore it for the price point. If you like Chloe, Narciso, or luxury bath oils and soaps, this one is definitely for you. To sum it up it’s subtle but divine quality.

For someone who can be sensitive to "too much" rose, the balance here is just right. The rose note is strongest in the beginning. Then over an hour it fades into the background, leaving orange blossom/neroli (favorite notes of mine) and something faintly sweet that I think is the dew drop. I am also sensitive to woods notes, and thankfully I don't notice the cedar in this. Also, I wouldn't describe this as a musky fragrance (compared to several I own), but maybe I'm just not picking up on this type of musk. Overall, this is a gorgeous fragrance! It's earned a place in my personal top twenty.

This smells like a slightly weaker version of Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP; the latter has rose as a top note and stronger musk in the base notes. I said something similar about Amazing Grace in an earlier review, but Nude Rose has stronger rose notes than Amazing Grace. This is a great in-between perfume- great for both work and everyday life as well as somewhat more special moments like meeting a new boyfriend/girlfriend’s parents or a job interview. Basically, you can wear this in any situation you want to wear NRFH EDP, but worry the strong musk might put off people around you.

This wasn't a love at first sniff for me but it slowly grow on me as I started using it as a work fragrance. Nothing too crazy about this so I think its rather safe to use for work. I enjoy the simplicity of this but I would see some people think it lacks depth. All in all, I think its a pretty decent scent. I use it sometimes when I go to sleep too.

This alongside with Amazing Grace Ballet Rose are my favourites from the line! It’s so delicate, somewhat creamy and smells like ‘silk’. This is something a princess would wear walking around her castle wearing her cream coloured silk dressing gown. Love!

The rose comes through really strong when first applied. And I love that. The smell, after it settles, is the scent of a dozen fresh roses. So soft, rosey and intoxicating. If you don’t like the smell of roses then this is probably not for you.

I get sugared rose. I had to check my bottle to make sure this was nude rose. The only note I get from the ones listed are the rose. I’m not sure what dew drops smell like but I get a sweetness from the rose. My favourite rose scent.

A bit sharp to my taste. However, it calms down after awhile and it can be used for office wear

Hahaha, restein, I actually get the baby wipes association! I still think this is a pretty fragrance, but it does start out really sharp and astringent. I didn’t realize just how sharp it was until I let one of my students test it. He’s hyposensitive (not to be confused with hypERsensitive) and enjoys a lot of stimuli, including fragrance. He said, directly after spraying it, that it smelled like hairspray. He said it was a good thing! I always appreciate an honest opinion on my fragrances. The sharpness doesn’t take long to settle down and the rose is a soft, fresh rose, like most other Philosophy roses. I prefer Amazing Grace Ballet Rose to this one. Ballet Rose is sweet and youthful, whereas Nude Rose is cleaner and more mature. Both, however, are among my favorite rose perfumes. I find rose challenging on my skin, but it’s a note I’m still really drawn to. Nude Rose fills the niche for a vintage rose without a hefty price tag, so I don’t mind respraying after a few hours. Based on that initial spray, though, I don’t recommend spraying it around other people! Give it a minute to dry down before joining a crowd!

I found this tonight at Shoppers Drug Mart for $19.99 which is one hell of a deal! I have never smelled it before so I came here to read reviews and check out the notes etc, I also had a ten dollar off coupon so I got it for $9.99 :) it’s very light floral, you definitely smell the Rose note right away but it’s not uour standard rose, this one feels lighter and not so in your face I have always found that most rose based perfumes were like old lady perfumes that are too strong and hit you like a punch in the face but this is different. It reminds me of especially escada delicate notes. This would be a good blind buy if you dig light rose/florals. It’s not a love from me But a like I guess. My daughter was with me and said if I didn’t like it she would take it(no testers for the cheap shelf at shoppers) and I’m thinking about giving to her, it’s just similar to a few fragrances I have. Overall 6/10 I would say

I found a 2 oz. bottle of this on sale thinking it was the EDT but to my surprise it was the EDP. Such a score! All of the other Philosophy fragrances I’ve tried have been EDTs and have had low longevity, but I had no issue with the wear time of this EDP. It started off with the fresh yet prominent rose, and the squeaky clean DNA followed soon after. Then I noticed the musk, which made this scent come off as much more moody and expensive than it actually is. It later dried down to mainly the musk and lived up to the “nude” rose aspect. This was a blind buy that I’m grateful to have went for! I absolutely love Amazing Grace Ballet Rose which is why I felt good giving this one a go. Ballet Rose is definitely more fruity and light and Nude Rose feels like something muskier and deeper. Seems like it could translate well in all seasons, and in both day and night settings.

This is a very pretty, innocent (kind of shy and timid), clean, cool and slightly watery/green rose scent. Exactly the kind of rose I like. Also exactly like Chloe (EdT), Moment de Bonheur by YR and Nike Pink for women. So while I already own the three other scents mentioned above, I don't think I'm going to buy another bottle of this. If I didn't own the three, I'm pretty sure I would go for this. The nature of this scent is very pretty and subtle, clean and rosy, and this is well suitable for all ages. I can also very well see this as a great gift for someone looking for her first scent. And yes, I do get the reference to a soapy "straight out of the shower" scent. This definitely belongs to that category, but in a good way. Not every scent is meant to be a powerhouse. Sometimes a subtle, pretty, clean and watery rose scent - like this one - is just perfect.

Vintage, feminine, clean, and classic. The rose is definitely there, but I smell a full garden of blooming flowers in this. The citrus note gives this a little bit of a “zing” — there’s a sharpness that I actually really like. A reinvigorating scent that feels so good to apply fresh out of the shower. I reach for this a lot when I don’t know what else to wear. I find the sillage and longevity to be pretty good for an eau de toilette. It won’t last all day, but it lasts me a few hours if I spray liberally. If you’re trying to decide between the two, Amazing Grace Ballet Rose is a sweeter and fruitier rose than Pure Grace Nude Rose. I slightly prefer Ballet Rose, but they both have a place in my collection.

I just received this as a Christmas gift. It comes off a little strong at first but dries down quickly. I am picking up a light rose, as if it’s trapped in a bouquet behind delicate white flowers. There is a very mild sharpness underneath that disappears as soon as it comes... not sure what it is but is reminiscent of white pepper. As with most Philosophy scents that I have experienced, the final result is a clean, crisp, “fresh from the shower” aura that is perfect for those who shy away from strong, bombastic perfume or want a nice daytime or office fragrance. Not enough here to offend even the most sensitive people, so perfect for everyday use.

this is such a pretty and delicate fragrance. it's a simple, fresh rosy perfume and it makes me feel almost fairy-like. unfortunately, it doesn't last more than 3 hours on my skin and 5 hours on clothing so it's a like, not a love. the performance is to be expected though as it's an edt. i did get this for $20 at marshall's (60mL) so i don't have too much issue reapplying. it's a very easy-to-wear scent and it brightens my day. if you can find it for less than the retail value, i'd say it's worth the purchase. i also blind bought it so as long as you're okay with rose, it's pretty safe. this is not overwhelming in any way.

From a non-rose lover, I am surprised that I am actually enjoying this rose. Well, maybe enjoying is too strong a word - I guess I should say I'm not disliking it intensely, which is what happens when I wear rose or musk. The rose is transparent; nude is a fitting title for it here, and lovely. I adore the cedar, and picked up hints of neroli, but it was gone in an instant. It's almost like instant drydown on me, just stronger at first, then it settles. Like, not love. Will enjoy the sample, but not FB worthy for me. The cedar was the main player here, and the only thing I could smell, hours later.

Have you ever smelled the dew on leaves of spring bulbs, like daffodils? It's that smell plus roses. It's a wonderful smell. It only lasts about an hour, but it's a good scent to start your day with. I enjoyed this scent so much I bought a bottle after writing the above and finishing my sample vial. When you apply with a spray, the scent is so much stronger and allows you to notice the musk and cedar in the background of the roses and watery leaves. I didn't know the smell could get better, but it did.

Much more powdery than Ballet Rose and way less soapy. Yet equally as clean and fresh. Perfect scent for after a shower. Maybe it's my nose but as it dried down it became sharp and astringent like. I detected the same aromachemical that puts me off from most perfumes (might be ambroxan?). Anyways I felt that this one had a lot of longevity, specially when sprayed on clothing. Between this one and Ballet Rose I'd go with the latter.

A nice, green, unassuming rose. Wears easy and light, no projection to speak of. Starts very youthful and green, then dries to a more grown-up, but still self-effacing rose-floral perfume. Perfect for the office or any other close quarters. Like others in this line, it’s clean, fresh, and agreeable, but rather forgettable. This is not the scent to wear when you want someone to remember you by your perfume.

my new spring time scent <3 it smells so clean and reminds me of something from my childhood I can’t quite remember... however like all philosophy perfumes the longevity is terrible :( I have been pairing it with florals/fresh scents more as a way to add depth rather than wearing it by itself. I blind bought this for $20 and I would say its pretty safe if you like clean florals

for a $20 tj maxx perfume, this is actually lovely! it's a comfortingly fresh, soft, powdery rose - not too sweet and no hint of gourmand/vanilla/patchouli, just a pure green floral. inoffensive and safe, but that's not a bad thing here. i'd imagine layering it with something nectar-y like gucci bloom ambrosia would give it more oomph if that's what you're looking for.

This is nice for something different. It does have an old school vintage rose smell but I think it is better in this modern version than 50 years ago! I don't detect a powder smell if I did I'd hate it. As with most Philosophy scents doesn't last but maybe a couple of hours for EDP.

Found this cheap and couldn't resist. Surprisingly good sweet and refreshing rose mixed with the orange blossom. Trying out lighter scents since my nose got accustomed to the stronger stuff. Got a thing for rose at the moment and this is a lovely one.

had a sample from sophora. This is a very inoffensive floral, suitable for a young, gentle, quiet girl. The only downside is the longevity – the perfume is very weak and you can barely smell it 3 minutes after you'd put it on.

Super clean fresh musky + pink rose petals with a couple stems + a little sweet orange blossom. Well balanced, doesn't lean too sharp, soapy, or green. It also has great sillage and longevity especially for this brand.

A comfort fragrance. Soft and delicate rose that is fresh yet warm. Perfect for everyday or casual wear, fresh out of the shower, relaxing, bedtime/bedsheets fragrance. Very practical, I enjoy this very much!

It's pretty and youthful,but not young. I wear it as a 41 year old woman on a spring or summer lunch date, it's floral, fresh and clean.

Smells like getting a gentle kiss from a delicate rose. Unfortunately doesn't last very long.

This is a decent perfume, and it smells like it's constructed to an audience that desires a clean, classic, understated and unfussy rose. There's some underlying greeness, but this is absolutely nothing like Tea Rose, which is super greeny and snappy. So, fear not if you look at the note pyramid, this is a mellow, sunny green. The orange blossom isn't front-stage, but it's obvious that there's something other than rose in here. I've made this comparison before, and it's likely to offend people, but I liken roses like this to Sandy in Grease before she became involved with Danny; clean, uptown, upscale, preppy...you get the idea. Nothing wrong with them, but I tend to be a post-Danny type of gal and things along these lines don't *sing* to me. I like my rose fragrances a little sharper, darker, greener or thornier. Or, I prefer them dripping in vanilla, up to no good alongside patchouli (or oud). That being said, this has better performance than other Philosophy fragrances, and I think it could make an easy gift for anyone who enjoys polite florals.

Decent, nothing extraordinary or really ground breaking. Amazing price point, however, and something you can just toss in your everyday bag and spray whenever you need a little refreshing hit of rose. Inoffensively pretty, can continuously apply without anxiety. Dry down is pretty much what you would expect from the brand... clean, slight hint of powder, but sadly just disappears after the 3-hour mark. I gave mine away to my daughter's friend who loves anything from Philosophy. She digs it!

This review is for the EDP version (only sold at Ulta). Nude Rose to me is mostly white florals, a bit of rose, and some woody notes. More mature than I was expecting. Extremely boring. It smells even cheaper than it is. It would certainly be easy to wear but even at this price point I feel like there are plenty of "easy" options that offer more than this.

Soft, delicate rose. It’s joined by fresh clean notes. This is a simple uncomplicated scent. Airy. Feminine. Gentle. Pretty. I like this fragrance. I have this on my maybe list. I am going to try a few other rose perfumes and see if I can find one with a bit more longevity.

Feminine, rose, clean, basic, well blended, flat Top - it really smells like nude rose color water. Middle - it really smells like nude rose color dune -> silk -> fume Base - rosy mossy musky wood Sometimes i enjoy nude rose color. Sometimes.

Love the green and cedar combination, but wish they had a perfume like this with something other than rose. Rose notes just set off my allergies, but this one isn't as bad. The rose note is light and gives the green and cedar a powdery scent.

Super feminine girlish scent to me. Its youthful and it's heavy on the roses to me but not necessarily in a bad way, it just has every part of a real life rose's scent. It lasts long enough but doesn't carry past a hug

I truly hate to say this, because I abhor cliche, but bear with me. This smells like laundry detergent/fabric softener. I don't mean that because I have no other scent references in my brain, therefore, I have to use terms like "laundry", "air freshener", or "soap". (I think my brain has more scent references than it has anything else...) I mean it, literally, Nude Rose smells like my fabric softener. My fabric softener is MelaSoft Clean Cotton, and Nude Rose smells like all my towels, clothing, and undies. Clearly I like this scent, because I buy it intentionally to use on my family's laundry. "Perfume", however, is a different commodity in my life from bath/laundry products. It's like jewelry and makeup: an accessory with which to decorate myself. It is beyond mundane ablutions. So, Nude Rose is not something I would wear as a perfume. It doesn't interest me enough to use it in any form.

This is primarily white florals with rose and a lot of musk. I don't get much of the green notes on me, so I'd say this is more of a soft warm fragrance than a fresh one. I'm sure there are people who would find this fragrance soft and cozy, but I think something about the musk in this makes me feel this is too mature for my age. Nonetheless, I recommend a try to those who love rose! The price is pretty good for what you get, if you enjoy the scent. Sillage is light but longevity is pretty decent. Waaaaay over priced and horrible. Smells like freshly mowed grass with sweat from whoever mowed it. Also, I smelled chicken in this scent too. Shrug. Not sure what that was about. I wouldn’t get this if you gave it to me for free. I have dog cologne (yes, cologne made for pups) that smells better than this. I sprayed wrist in the car, went to buy some food since I thought “maybe I’m hungry since this perfume smells like chicken to me” ate, and then immediately went to return it before the store closed. It just smells like a sweaty person is eating a kfc leg outside on their freshly mowed grass. This one sucks, philosophy has way better scents out there.

I was excited by the notes of this one, because I love both rose and green. However, all I get is a rather nondescript, rosy floral that is so light I can barely pick out any notes. With Amazing Grace and Pure Grace there is a lovely soapy component that I personally really like, but this lacks that and for that reason doesn't hold my interest. Very light projection and lasting power. I suppose if you like rose but want just a hint of it, this could be for you.

It is not my favorite, definitely very rosey. Reminds me of what my grandmother would wear I normally like floral but this is too rose forward and one dimensional, with not enough longevity.
