Pure Grace Summer Moments

Philosophy Pure Grace Summer Moments is so, so lovely. I blind bought this after finding it at Marshalls for $20, and wow, what a good decision that was. Summer Moments is a fresh and lightly woody citrus on the opening, reminiscent of sitting on a wrap around porch drinking ice cold lemonade on a balmy summer afternoon, while the sea breeze blows in through the trees. As it dries down, it loses that citrus edge and morphs to such a creamy, gorgeous fig before it fades into the indescribable, lightly sweet skin scent. Not incredibly long lasting, but I don't really mind having to top up on this because every stage of wearing this is a treat. The fig in this is juicy. Not super green – more of a jammy NEST Indigo fig than a hyper-green Diptyque Philosykos fig. Indigo is my favorite fragrance of all time, and Summer Moments feels like Indigo's slightly beachier, more summery cousin. It does remind me of Jo Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt (I don't own it, but I've sampled it recently) on the opening, but dries down more creamy and fruity, and I'd say it leans a little more feminine than WS&SS because of that. Really lovely, especially for the price. If you see it at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, it's worth it to snatch it up.

I took a chance on this blind buy and am so glad I did! EDIT: This is a sea salt+fig fragrance. Not so much citrus as I first thought and wrote in my review. It's not really citrus heavy at all. SALTY FIG is what this is. Sensual and beachy! Soooo good. Unisex but not masculine smelling. If you love Philosophy Pure Grace Summer Moments, you will love Sea Moss and Salt or Black Ginger and Amaranth by St. James of London. p.s. St. James of London perfumes are excellent quality and have a great price point. Agree with another reviewer that this is different for Philosophy. I feel like they mostly do floral and sweet perfumes so this is something different from them. I don't pick up any Pure Grace DNA in Summer Moments. At all.

This was a blind buy for me, and I am happy with it. I used to wear Amazing Grace, but have never tried Pure Grace, so I can't comment as to whether or not this edition smells anything like the original. It is sweet with a clear fig note on my skin, along with a lightly spiced green note. The effect is clean and soft but in no way overwhelmingly sweet. To me, it smells almost exactly like Phlur Hanami. I am wearing Summer Moments on one arm and Hanami on the other and the Hanami is definitely stronger and slightly spicier, but it smells nearly the same. I think I prefer Hanami because it seems to last longer.

I absolutely adore this scent. It is fresh and beachy, but not coconutty or overly citrusy. Citrus is there, but together with the aromatics and the fig. It is beautiful. The longevity is there although it stays pretty close to the skin after some time, but IMHO that is what you want from a summer fragrance.

Summer Moments shows up frequently at discount stores, so even if the longevity is trash, at least I can find it for ~$15. I don't mind overspraying at that price. (By the way, it's cheap, but it doesn't SMELL cheap. Just wanted to put that out there.) It has a bit of a D&G Light Blue thing going on, but softer and sweeter all the way through the opening to the dry down. Totally believable as a LB flanker. What I really like about this is that the citrus isn't screaming at me. True to its iced lemon note, the citrus here reads like a cool, refreshing lemonade. As lovely as it is, I'm hoping to get through my 60ml bottle before summer is over, and I don't plan on repurchasing. It's a bit boring, and there are much more versatile fragrances out there. Like its name, its moment is in summer and summer alone. Also, it smells nothing like the original Pure Grace. Couldn't Philosophy have just made it its own fragrance?
