Starts with a fresh green rose with a lemony facet and a hint of pepper, then morphs into a delicious rose candy--this stage is really fantastic-- with the addition of violet and the peeking through of some gourmand notes in its base, finally ends as a slightly dry rosy sandalwood patchouli (although my first impression was that this was an amber, and there may be something like benzoin in it as it has a sweet quality and an amber quality that is not purely sandalwood). It's got quite a bit of complexity. Not a powerhouse of sillage but a great personal scent that is appropriate for daytime or office, and does last for quite a few hours--I'm at four plus now and it's still going strong. In order to get the most out of the scent I recommend spraying on skin and fabric. The 'Jeremy' method of behind the ears, either side in front of shirt, back of neck (plus I add forearms) is great for this one. Because of the natural materials it smells beautiful all the way through.

I have been a perfume lover and colllector since high school in the early 90s. I’ve sampled, and played with, been gifted, and purchased hundreds of bottles. My taste is all over the place! One of my go-to spring and summer favorites of all time is this beauty, Améline. Lemony, rosy, warmth. Great longevity. Optimistic, fresh but not fruity or ozonic, classy, flirty, and sophisticated. Great for sundresses, day dates, vacation, wine-tasting. Safe blind buy or gifting. Absolutely love! And I love this company’s ethics, esthetics, and concepts.

This is one of my favorite perfumes. I hate sweetness and love clean/citrus scents. This is a sparkling fresh rose with citrus that stays present all day. It makes me feel so pretty! Women compliment it constantly. I didn't smell it before the reformulation, so I can't speak to any changes.

The bergamot and fresh rose are very noticeable and also very well blended together. It's very feminine and very suitable for office wear. I only wish it lasted longer than two to three hours on my skin. It lasts longer on clothes though.

Wow! This is addictive and intoxicating. It reminds me of Still by Jennifer Lopez (which I am sure is long discontinued.) Very unique scent profile. Beautiful. Rosey, lemony, rich.

I'd say the layperson (laynose) would interpret it like this (middle age male moderate-experience nose here btw): The "bad" first: Not a freshy fan, so I'm a little biased. Therefore has a sharpness to it, can see where reviews below may experience a headache, I also think it's due to the synthetics used which can very readily make me head-achy or nauseated. The good: Per other reviews below, a "fresh lemony rose"..."Airy and clean" with a powdery backbone, and reminding of a comforting gramdma scent (not a "bad" gramma scent). Soapy. Most people would surely smell this as a clean scent. I'm not a freshy fan at all, nor therefore a citrus fan, but I'd think this would make for an easy reach if you don't know what else to wear that would not be offensive and would be pleasant to most people. Has an old-school clean almost cozy-ness to it. I'll use it as a room freshener on occasion. Seems to have moderate projection and decent longevity.

I really thought that I would love this one. I don't dislike it. But I don't love it. For me, this started off as a fresh rose scent, brightened by the scent of bergamot. I would really like it if this was where the fragrance lived. However, as it dries down, sandalwood takes over the bergamot. This is a blend where the sandalwood smells like pencil shavings. So that is what you are left with. Sandalwood and fresh pencil shavings. It's not a bad smell. But it knocks it down a peg for me. It stayed at the pencil shaving and rose phase for about an hour and a half. Then it became a very faint rose skin scent. You truly had to put your nose directly on the skin to smell this. Ameline was not as long lasting as I have found the other fragrances from Phlur to be. This is a unisex rose fragrance that sits extremely close to the skin. I would say that after about three hours, I could no longer smell Ameline.

First blast of warm woody rose and berries. This is not a bright clean rose that's fresh from the garden; rather, it's been sitting in direct sunlight in some dainty aunt's parlour. There is some fruit sweetness.. I don't get bergamot like it says in the notes, it still plays as red berries to me and not citrus. After a couple minutes, the patchouli earthiness starts to come through keeping the rose dark, woody, and warm. Overall an alright scent, just a hair above "meh", but it's not my favourite rose interpretation. Feminine and best for all weather, methinks. 6+ hours later: This did not last long on my skin at all, about 2 hours max. Weak projection also.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I dislike this fragrance, but I don't really like it either. Pretty unremarkable rose-based scent. The bergamont is close to nose-burning in the beginning, but then the middle and dry down are OK. Very rose-heavy and and light on the sandalwood. Just didn't grab my attention.

Received a decant of this and although it's not bad, it certainly isn't outstanding either. I love Rose fragrances, but the pepper in this one is too heavy for my liking. It is way overpriced for what it is. A Meh scent with piss poor longevity. Pass.

I thought I would like this perfume. As soon as I first sprayed it on, I smelled rubbing alcohol mixed with rose. The alcohol smell was giving me a headache and it was so strong that I couldn’t smell anything. I don’t know how the lasting power was like cause I had to take a shower and applied calamine lotion cause my skin flared up bad with rashes and hives. I’m not sure what’s in the perfume or the brand itself but my skin just couldn’t take it.

I don't like it, smells cheap and basic.

Ameline is a nice, youthful, citrus-forward rose with some woody notes so far in the background as to be negligible. It's fresh and airy and clean. I prefer my rose to be darker, duskier, and thornier, so this is not a love for me. But it's a perfectly serviceable juicy rose, particularly for those who value clean modernity in their scents. Phlur has produced some remarkable eco-friendly fragrances, but to my nose, this one is just ok.

just came here to say that i have a strange experience of this fragrance that i’m not sure anyone else has had... at first it’s super floral, reminiscent of chloe edp, but after it sits on me a while it smells just like rose milk tea boba! i swear there’s that syrupy black tea smell that anyone who’s been to a boba shop will know. the rose is still completely there, just undercut with a creamy sweetness... i could be imagining things!

Creamy sweet modern rose. I am still not a huge fan of this note as the driver of a fragrance, but I was willing to give this a chance due to the interesting description and the ethical reputation of the company due to ingredients and non-animal testing. I got a faint memory of the Kenzo fragrance Flower, not that it smells similar, but there is some note that takes me back. What is that? Let me look it up.

This started out incredibly sharp, and I thought it was mostly citrus. I was surprised to see rose as top note. I’m not getting that. In the dry down It smells strongly of green tea? I like tea. But it’s a bit headachey. One tiny spritz is very strong.

I really like this smell, it smells fresh and clean, very different from the rose perfumes in the mall, this smells a lot more natural. The only thing I don't like is that the scent does not last very long at all.

A wooded-up, patchouli-soap fairy tale watched through well-made, rose-colored 3D glasses. Rose Red was on the poster, but the big, bad oud-balsam wolf appears in every scene.

An other great perfume from this line. So clean and white. I imagine a fresh cut white rose dusted with silver musk powder.
