Apricot Privee

Oh my GOD, this REALLY is like Bitter Peach!!!! I knew about the comparisons going in, but I genuinely didn't expect them to be so similar - I'm saying this as someone who's gone through a sample, sprays it on myself pretty much every time I pass by the Tom Ford counter, and have been lusting after a bottle for over 2 years. (I know I could've got the travel size, but the economics of paying that much for only 10ml when I know I'd reach for it often doesn't make sense.) To say I know Bitter Peach intimately at this point is an understatement. Apricot Privee goes in a slightly different direction though. Both are juicy, ultra sweet and syrupy, spice lingering in the background, with a dark base that pulls them into moodier territory, making them smell sophisticated and high quality. The notable difference between the two for me is that AP has a fresh nuance to it (it's subtle, but still), and BP leans into the booze; essentially the top and base notes are the same but the mid notes throw a bit of a curve ball. Phlur's fragrances vary wildly in terms of longevity: some perform like a Jo Malone, some are in the mid-range, Somebody Wood in particular is nuclear. This lasts about 5 hours, BP lasts about 7-8. Both are perfectly unisex, and all-rounders in terms of being suitable for all occasions, all weathers, day or night - peach is one of my favourite notes though so I might be a little biased. I'm legitimately shocked that after all this time I've spent pining for it, I'm debating taking Bitter Peach off my wishlist. Sure AP doesn't last quite as long but also it's nearly 1/3rd of the price... If this scent profile is the sort of thing you'd only reach for on rare occasion, I'd say just buy the travel size of this one and save your money. As for myself, I want a full bottle + will wear it often (of whichever I ultimately decide to get), so I've got some serious decision making to do...

I must be lucky because Apricot Privee smells absolutely divine on my skin. I purchased a Phlur discovery set for almost 30% off at Sephora and have been working my way through the set. Apricot Privee is one of the fragrances from the set that I was highly anticipating because apricot is a really underrated fruit note (at least in the designer/celebrity scent world) and I already knew I really love the juicy ripe apricot in Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot. So I was hoping to get something ripe and juicy and I absolutely did! There is something almost sweet and candy-like to this scent. It's not just your basic fruity floral. To be honest I don't even smell much of the floral notes although if I get my nose right up to my wrist I can detect them. I love the woodsy notes in here as well and the tonka bean adds a nice touch. Any kind of fruity floral with a woodsy base is going to be something I (probably) enjoy. This is an absolute winner with the caveat that I've only been wearing it for about 30 minutes. It's just apricot and woodsy notes on my skin, if that changes I will update this review. I see that Britney Spears VIP Private Show is listed as a similar fragrance. That is one that I really really enjoy and intend to get a bottle if I can find it. I don't think they are all that similar because VIP Private Show is all about the juicy mango which is still delicious like apricot, but very different. I would say if you enjoy VIP Private Show there is a good chance you will enjoy Apricot Privee and vice versa if you simply enjoy the super juicy fruity and woodsy vibe. I'm now even more intrigued to try Tom Ford Bitter Peach seeing that listed here as well. All in all, this is great!

re-doing my review of this because oh wow has my opinion on it did a major 180 in the last month. i won't lie, at first i was completely puzzled by this one. at first i thought the scent changed too much for my liking, from a super juicy and jammy apricot with a splash of wood, to just colour washing sheets?? so i let it sit for a month and go back to it to see my impression of it then. oh boy my thoughts have changed. i think i was being way too hard on phlur's apricot privee, because now it gives me pure euphoria wearing it. yes the juiciness of the fruit it does fade after a short bit, yes it does turn more into a plum rather than apricot (and i still stand by the fact that if you were looking for an apricot perfume, this one is not for you)... but honestly after letting it set on me now, it turns into this fresh wood with a mature fruitiness that just feels like *me*. it's a beautiful strong, almost unisex smelling fragrance. i feel like you could easily wear this any time of the year, day or night it doesn't matter, which makes it so much easier to label as a signature scent. that being said, it still suffers with not lasting as long as i'd like. i could probably get 2-3 hours out of it...? and i wish it had more sillage, otherwise it'd be my absolute all time favourite signature go-to 24/7 whatever scent. i cannot wait to grab myself a full sized bottle.

Update (1-2 months later): Upgraded to 4.5/5 Stars. I must have sprayed this on myself when I was close to my bed. For nearly a week, every time I sat on my bed, I caught wafts of this fragrance and felt instantly uplifted. My husband noticed it, too, and liked the scent. This contradicts my original review. I've since grown to enjoy this immensely. It's been discontinued, but I was able to snag a full-size bottle for a great discount during a Black Friday sale. I'll enjoy it until it's gone and I can no longer acquire it. (Original review - 11/2025) 3/5 Stars. I loved this when I first sprayed it on paper. I think it was nostalgia for my early 20s. It's just as well this is discontinued, since the powdery notes quickly came and doused any desire to own a full bottle. The longer it was on, the more it became one of those scented body powders with the large body puff applicator that my grandmother, and maybe even my mom at one point, owned. I’ll use up my decant by wearing it at night after my shower. It seems perfect for that.

Omg what is this magic. Went to Anthropology to purchase Outremere Vanilla, came across this. Love at first sniff, came home and researched it saw it was created by Jerome Epinette, recognized the name as being the same creator of my current obsession Slow Dance. This man is brilliant. The fragrance is warm and spicy, clean and thick and has this fuzzy warm apricot note that is juicy and a bit dry at the same time. This is heavy and light at the same time, sweet and spicy. I think this fragrance is really top quality for a very affordable rate. It’s like a mini masterpiece. Funny bc Slow Dance is also fruity and spicy, but boozy too. Very real apricot smell and feel. Love love love!

I've been looking for more bright fruity fragrances that work for fall/winter and this fills that spot well. The apricot/plum are bright and juicy, but are complimented well by the spicy cardamom and woods. It smells like drinking a spiced apricot/plum cider, if that were a thing, while walking through a damp forest. At times it almost leans a little shampoo-y, very pretty but also has something that leans a little masculine which I think is very on brand for Phlur. It's something I can see myself reaching for on Thanksgiving or for any fall activity. I don't think I'd enjoy this in warm weather. It's a cozy fruity scent, very happy to have it in my collection.

I LOVE this. It's a top 5 for me. I generally hate fruity fragrances - I actually got this sent to me by mistake (I had ordered a different phlur ) and ended up loving it so much I kept it AND ordered a full bottle. Something about the sophistication of the blend of fruit and spice. If you have more of a juvenile nose and are looking to expand your nose pallet from a fruity lover into more richer and grown up (read...not old) scents, this is the one for you.

I love this. So much!!! I feel like Apricot Privee is a chameleon of sorts. The jammy fruit notes are perfect for every day wear, but then the cardamom and oud elevate it for evening or special occasions. I have worn it to work, to yoga, and to a cocktail party. Have gotten many compliments! My favorite is when I can still smell a fragrance on my scarf the next day ~ and next day Apricot Privee is as yummy as it gets!

I am NOT usually a fruity fragrance person so I am shocked at how much I LOVE this scent. The pepper-y bite to it adds so much interest and depth to a dripping-with-juice apricot. Interesting combination. I've never smelled anything like it (I know people are saying Bitter Peach but I think apricot privee has way more layers to it.) Really well-rounded, punchy, intoxicating fragrance. Phlur has some amazing noses.

SO JOYFUL! After a few minutes of wearing it the labdanum comes out and plays so well with the apricot. Jasmine scents work great with my body chemistry but I know it doesn't work with a lot of people, I can see why this is polarizing. On me this isn't really sweet at all, the syrupy-ness goes away on the drydown. So lovely, seriously. Not a typical fruity scent.

Love this so much more than I thought I would! Just based on the name it’s not one I would grab for myself but I got it in a discovery set and was blown away. It smells EXACTLY like how a lush store smells. So sweet and fruity, with a hint of spice. I can see why this is polarizing but I absolutely love it and can see myself wearing it a lot

i CANNOT believe they're discontinuing this. this was the most unique apricot plum mature sexy androgynous scent i've ever smelt. bitter peach tom ford is not the same. and now i can't find this anywhere in the UK. had i known i would've snagged 2 big bottles of it because i love it that much. why, phlur, why do this to me :(

Spicy, syrupy, woody, earthy, sweet, juicy, fresh. LOVE this fragrance. It smells like a spicy peach cocktail. It's one of my most complimented scents. Projection is great but it doesn't last very long - definitely need to reapply once or twice throughout the day. Phlur - pleeeeaaasseeeee make your scents last longer!!!

I love it. It's edging with cloying but it does not. It has fruity sweetness backed with nice sandalwood tones. Obtaining a full-sized bottle became a psychological need at this point since it's genuinely colder weather scent.

i have a travel size of this and i absolutely love it! it has a very interesting spicy undertone that differs itself from typical fruity perfumes. will definitely purchase the full size when the fall comes

I grew to LOVE this, it is super long lasting which is rare these days. Great for going out and nighttime. And hear me out.. it reminds me of Biblioteque by Byredo but in a sweeter version

I bought the travel size a couple of weeks ago. I have been wearing it 2 or 3 days a week and it really brightens my mood! Definitely full-bottle worthy!

I love this perfume so much. The opening reminds me of 7up. The juicy, spicy apricot notes smell so good together.

I bought Apricot Privée by Phlur on sale, not really expecting much – and honestly, the first spray terrified me. It was so sweet and sticky I almost panicked. But give it two minutes, and suddenly it all clicks into place. Yes, it’s a sweet fragrance by nature, but not in an obnoxious or sugary way. Think apricot and plum jam slowly melting into prune, creamy milk and loads of cardamom that totally steals the show. As it settles, the sweetness mellows into soft woods wrapped in the subtlest whisper of jasmine – weird, but it makes perfect sense. To my nose, it could definitely pass as gender neutral, though not everyone would be bold enough to wear it. It’s got that ‘classic lady with her life sorted’ vibe – elegant, but not old-fashioned. Like most Phlur scents, it eventually finds its way to that signature creamy-woody base I’ve come to really enjoy, even if it takes its time. The cardamom is a proper star here, and that’s made me love it more and more over time. The projection and sillage? Easily among the best in the whole Phlur line.

Edit: after wearing it for some time the apricot is easier for me to pick up on now! I think my nose was overloaded by samples before. Unfortunately there is a slight B.O scent that I get a small whiff of every once and awhile and I have connected it to this perfume. Maybe it’s my body chemistry but its part of the scent trail it leaves. This scent is spicy! I was not expecting such a nice spicy scent of cardamom and floral jasmine. It is a pleasant scent and a unique one, just quite different from what I was expecting with its name. It is sweet but gives me a slightly holiday inspired body lotion smell for some reason. The apricot was subtle for me at first but now so smell it easily, it also has a nice earthy green scent that accompanies it that really makes it smell like it fell from the tree to the ground. This brand does such a great job with its fruity scents smelling realistic and not synthetic. I would suggest sampling this one before committing to a full bottle though since it is quite unique.

Slightly sweet and slightly powdery scent that blooms into a warm stone fruit blossom . I get almond nuttiness and an almost leathery peach. I’m honestly the most relieved that the plum note isn’t screechy like Black Opium’s plum note( and a lot of Arabian perfumes). Usually plum smells awful to me but phlur’s plum note is more photorealistic and green, I’m guessing. Usually plum smells like a screechy mess to me that gives unrelenting migraines This reminds me of a sweeter and less refined Pêche Mirage from Guerlain. I wasn’t sure at first, but when you give it time to dry down it makes for a lovely faint nutty apricot that sits close to the skin. I must be one of the few this scent works for cause the reviews are harsh on here ! lol

Nice leather, dried fruit and cosmeticky scent. Very pretty, strongish at first. I was actually not sure if it was going to work out on me, but on paper smelled liked cosmetics, lipstick and leather. So I took my chances. Amazing!! It has a punch to it, but I got compliments too:) It does have a bit of dried fruit and hints woody notes in beginning stages. In comparison if you like Hermes Kelly Caleche or Rhianna Rouge, I am pretty this your style a scent too. It lingers for hours but strength decreases. It is powerful on initial spritz 2 hrs then hangs close to skin, balmy leather. Stays on clothes all day. Definitely keeper and a Like!

I honestly didn't know what to expect because the reviews of this one are so polarizing. First sprays were pure cardamom, bordering on anise. That's it. No plum. I got scared. Nearly panicked scrubbed, but I gave it a chance and after a few minutes it started to mellow into an apricot plum jam vibe that was so lovely. I didn't get any spice after the 1st few minutes, but the oud comes out quite thick on me (in a positive way). Overall, this became a apricot-leaning syrupy (think peach gummies) woodsy scent. Never tried a scent like it and I might mess around and buy a full size. Best longevity of any Phlur I've ever tried.

on the first spray, im getting a strong apricot accord and jammy plum, but no spices are to be found. the plus side is that it isn't overtly sweet/cloying. the comparisons to TF bitter peach are true: they share a scent DNA. i'm not detecting any oud, just sandalwood and coumarin, giving creamy woods and sweetness on the dry down. the issue is that this doesn't last on me at all. becomes a skin scent in 30 minutes, so definitely not worth a FB. bitter peach may be a bit more aggressive, but at least it lasts 3-4 hours...

Was on sale at Anthropologie so had to give it a try since I liked Strawberry Letter and Soft Spot. I sprayed it on my hoodie and the smell of an overripe fruit - sweet and tart - will not leave my clothes. I washed that hoodie twice already. The scent is lingering, and so it grew on me for sure. I really liked Bitter Peach but it lacked longevity on me. While this is not a dupe (it's not boozy and I feel it's more youthful), it's good. Also I tried Zara's Sunlight Bouquet and HATED IT. This is so much better.

This is an extremely unique scent!! I’ve never smelled anything remotely like this. The oud note took me by surprise at the first spray, but it works really well, capturing the more nuanced part of apricot scent/taste. Overall and very well blended fragrance—also the oud makes the longevity/projection super crazy! I really like this but I don’t know if I’ll continue wearing it, it may just not be quite what I’m going for, but I do want to keep it in my collection as it really is super different.

this reminds me a lot of bitter peach, only the fruitiness is much richer and jammy. it's really nice! ive had it on for about 4 and a half hours now, and the floral notes are much more pronounced than i was expecting, but it's lovely and works really well with the apricot. the apricot scent itself smells like dried fruits. i didnt notice much projection, but she's still going strong, so a pretty solid fragrance if you like fruit scents

This is what I *wanted* Bitter Peach to be... jammy and fruity, settling into a cozy warm-herbal (cinnamon, clove, cardamom). The florals in the mid help carry the apricot through the dry down. I don't always like oud or labdanum - sometimes they're heavy or cloying - but in this one, it lends a more expensive feeling. I can't wait to wear this in sweater season, but it's still light enough for the winter-spring transition!

My initial spray I was concerned because I was hit with an overpowering sweetness, I am not a huge fan of sickly sweet fragrances, but I was relieved when it dried down to a more mulled sweetness. I really enjoy the apricot notes, and there is a milkiness to it, but I wish the woody notes were slightly stronger to balance the sweetness. However, it's a really nice, pleasant scent.

I remember one of my first scent memories was when my father would take me to this store called "The Wooden Goose" when I was young. It had magical things in it - hand crafted items, candles, soaps, and my favorite, potpourri. This perfume smells exactly like the potpourri I would always dive my face into when visiting the store with my father. For this reason alone, I love it.

A distant reminiscent of Tom Ford Bitter Peach, in deed, but better. It's more fruity, juicy, a bit sour and warm spicy like a cocktail. Intoxicating. Elegant and likable. Can't stop sniffing. I'm glad it comes in a travel spray. It reminds me of some other fragrance too, but I can't recall which one.

I scored a 10ml at Anthropologie for $11 and am surprised by how great this is. It’s a very sexy adult peachy/apricot- the powdery lactonic vibe reminds me slightly of Mitsouko- Sephora scents that everybody hates is a sign that I’ll love it. And that’s certainly the case with Apricot Privée.

One of their better fragrances. This smells like a a whipped apricot honey spread. It’s deep and jammy, the projection is pretty damn good. Feels like I’m eating room service breakfast of jam and toast at a five star hotel The sillage is crazy, make sure not to over spray this

right off the bat, amazing. I love it, my bf loves it. It's not a gourmand but more of a clean soft sweet fruity but comforting scent. it really reminded me of a hairdresser I went to. He sprayed my hair with these products that smelt exactly like it. Very luxurious.

Very distinctive fragrance. It smells like a pistachio gelato to me, with a hint of fruit. The sales rep highly recommended it but I didn’t end up liking it. I considered purchasing at some point in the distant future, it is my top of mind for an apricot frag.

Apricot plum spicy jam. The oud comes in during the heart of the fragrance and turns it into a more sophisticated scent. The oud gives a nice woody funk and medicinal quality but in a good way. Apricot plum jam with a bit of oud on the side.

I was told by a Phlur sales rep that this fragrance is being discontinued. I was planning a purchase since I think it is really distinctive and the apricot star note is so niche IMO. But sadly it’s been misunderstood by the gen pop :(

Very nice and creamy peachy apricot, like you just tore off the top of a peach yoplait. There's a hint of something very nostalgic here - The scent of sitting on the bench in the mall across from the Orange Julius in the early 2000s

Strangely enough, this scent isn't fruity or gourmand, in fact to my nose it smells more like the apricot seed and it's very unusual but pleasant...I'm a bit disappointed because apricots are my favorite fruits. Oh well............

Bought this for my best friend for Christmas. It's her favorite fragrance and she's been out. She let me try it and yeah all I can say is it smells exactly like her. But I love her and like the way she smells so like!!

Based on the reviews, I thought I wasn't going to like this. I'm pleased to learn that I was wrong. It's like sipping on warm Southern Comfort while taking a walk through a deciduous forest. It's lovely.

I really don’t smell the apricot besides the opening note. It immediately devolves into a a sharp SHARP oud woody smell that I can appreciate. But juicy AND woody? I don’t see it for her

the spirit of what bitter peach is supposed to be. worth the long wait until this showed up for testing in sephora. the notes speak for themselves tbh, but this was really goodz

Sweet, fruity, waxy, and plasticky in a way that's still totally wearable. Better and stranger than Tom Ford's Bitter Peach, though very much related.

I didn’t like this at first. The opening is kind of weird for me, but then it dries down almost to a peach cobbler kind of smell. It’s very cozy!

Personal: 6.5/10 - It's pleasant, fruity, and floral. Not particularly memorable or interesting. Mass appeal: 8.5/10 – Sweet apricot with florals is pretty safe. Performance: 6.5/10 – Decent but underwhelming. It doesn’t stick around as much as I’d like. Value: 6/10 – Reasonable Phlur pricing, but it's not interesting enough to warrant buying. Uniqueness: 6.5/10 – Fruity florals aren’t new, but the apricot opening does add a fun twist. SCORE: 68/100 Full bottle buy? NO, I like it but it’s not special enough for me to reach for often. Blind buy? YES, it’s quite safe. It smells like a high-end shampoo. Recommend? YES, a safe entry into fruity florals that feels polished and refined. Date night? YES, light, playful, and feminine. Casual settings only. Office safe? YES, professional and clean, as long as you don’t overspray. Wear in cooler environments. Pros: Pleasant fruity opening, easy to wear, approachable. Reasonably priced. Cons: Generic drydown. Its opening isn't bad, but it's not particularly interesting. This fragrance opens with a wonderfully pleasant, bright, energetic burst of apricot, a note hard to pull off in perfumery, and it does it well. It's very pleasant, approachable, and fun. The issue is that as it dries down, it evolves very linearly into an overly familiar fruity floral territory, which encroaches on 'boring'. I enjoy it a lot in the opening, but hey, at least it doesn't dry down into plasticky woods like Strawberry Letter. It's not super memorable, but I also don't hate it. Ripe apricot with underlying florals and some woodiness in the dry down. Not particularly exciting - same as the rest of Phlur's line-up. This has some kind of powdery-ness to it that I'm not a fan of. I can understand the "BO" and "stank" references because I got the same thing from Not Your Baby. There's something in these that just doesn't sit well. Father Figure was my favorite out of the entire line, but I'm not sure what the point in purchasing any of these are because they're gone in an absurdly short amount of time. It's like you spray it and it's there enough for you to get like, three whiffs and it's gone. Completely faded. They all have body spray longevity and I'm not paying $100 for that when I can get anything from Imaginary Authors for $110 and have a completely unique and well-performing fragrance. Or you can save a little more and get something from Kerosene for $152 and have something that lasts for an eternity AND something no one else has. My general consensus is to skip Phlur's entire line. There are much better out there for the price.
