Imagine this: you’re at a bonfire at the beach, and the sun has nearly set. You’re a little tipsy, you smell roasted coconut and palm trees from the bonfire, the person right next to you smells like baccarat and the other person next to you smells like a cheap Victoria’s Secret body spray. Also, you’ve been in the sun all day, and there’s so much salt in the air and on your skin. Now combine all of these scents and you got Phlur’s coconut skin. To be honest, I blind bought this and it was not what I expected. On first whiff, it reminded me of one of those super popular baccarat dupes (not for me). But as time passed I fell in love with this fragrance and I reach for it daily (it’s summer currently). Sometimes it smells cheap, sometimes it smells super complex and expensive. It lasts pretty long for a body mist (3-4 hours?) and the dry down is a beautiful salty skin scent. I don’t understand where do the “fresh” and “light” and “creamy” comments come from - to me this is even a bit overpowering for summer, but not enough to make me pass on it. What I love most about it is that it’s also a little slutty, but in just the right way! Perfect for summer nights at the beach without being overly sweet or girly and with just the right amount of smoky coconut combined with something both sugary and salty at the same time. Not your conventional coconut!

I’ve seen the negative reviews, but I’m here to set the record straight — Coconut Skin deserves way more love. To me, this scent is pure paradise. It opens with creamy coconut and a whisper of sea salt that immediately evokes the feeling of sun-warmed skin after a blissful beach day. There’s an easy, radiant warmth to it — not cloying or overly sweet, but soft, salty, and effortlessly sensual. And longevity? Incredible. I applied it after an evening shower and woke up the next day still catching dreamy wafts from my clothes and hair — well over 12 hours later. For a skin-scent style fragrance, that’s impressive staying power. So if you’ve been hesitant because of the mixed reviews, I say give Coconut Skin a fair shot. On the right skin, it sings — and smells like a summer memory you never want to end.

Really enjoying this. It’s a nice light beachy gourmand. A salty coconut that smells like you have dried sea water on your skin that you first put sunscreen on. Lasting surprisingly long on my skin, like 5+ hours, though with very weak projection. I think I’ll buy a full size of this for my next vacay!

Beachy, sweet, warm, floral, green, fresh, bright, tropical, lush, creamy, musky, woody On me this opens sweet, tropical, fresh, and floral with prominent notes of creamy coconut, fresh and green palm leaf, sweet and creamy caramel, delicately sweet, tropical, and lush Tiare flower, jasmine sambac, and buttery frangipani, and the golden warmth of amber. I’m sure I’m getting some sweetness from the sorbet too. Once it dries down the coconut takes on more of a musky toasted scent with sandalwood and amber. I still get some of that green scent from the palm leaf, some tropical florals, and a bit of the sweet and creamy caramel too, just more subtly. This is definitely not what I had expected when I blind bought this one based off the notes. I’m a huge fan of beachy/coconut fragrances, and I especially enjoy ones with Tiare flower in them. I thought this would have a monoi oil like scent to it, but it doesn’t really seem to. It’s very sweet, green, fresh, and tropical in the opening, and then dries down to an almost toasted coconut scent that’s musky and has a prominent sandalwood note. I honestly really didn’t like this one at all whenever I first sprayed it on some tester paper after getting it. However, I just revisited it, and actually sprayed it on my skin this time. That made a big difference! I still can’t say this is a love, but it is definitely a like! I was very surprised to discover that I think this smells very similar to the new SDJ Flor Mística, which I happen to really love! I recently compared the notes, and they do have some in common as well as other similar ones. For reference, I own 5 Phlur fragrances including this one. The other 4 are definite loves for me... Vanilla Skin, Caramel Skin, Beach Skin, and Heavy Cream. I’ve only sampled maybe 3 Phlur perfumes, and I didn’t like any of them enough to want to own them. As for the beachy/coconut fragrances that I do really love, those include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, Bobbi Brown Beach, Kayali Maui in a Bottle, Kayali Maldives in a Bottle, SDJ 39, B&BW Coco Paradise I get great performance with Coconut Skin, especially for a body mist. The longevity is very good, it lasts the majority of the day on me. The projection is nice, it radiates out about a couple/few feet from me. With the performance I get and the price of this I actually think it’s a pretty good value.

I live in a hot and humid tropical climate and I’ve owned this for over a year now. I pick up mostly a dry coconut, palm leaf and sandalwood. It’s also green, but well blended to where I pick up mostly wood than green notes. To me this smells like the perfect dry, coconut, woody scent for over 70 degrees. Worn in colder weather changes the scent profile. That’s the only time I pick up the pickle scent mentioned by others. Worn alone it’s a nice fresh out the shower dry woody scent. Come to think of it, the dryness may be the sandalwood Im picking up. But I mostly layer this with other coconut dominant perfumes that I love but I find to be too sweet and basic on their own, like Kayali Yum Marshmallow and Kayali Maui. It adds a dry coconut husk note to any scent.

I dont typically lean towards scents like this but coconut skin smells so juicy and fresh to me and I love it. I get the coconut paired with the amber but there's a juicy, almost citrus note that sneaks in for me that I really like - weird because there's no citrus listed in the notes (though I think its the sorbet). the notes that are in this mist are so obviously all taken from a hot, beachy country with unrelenting sun and cool water. yum.

Smells like eating toasted coconut cookies in the breezes on the beach. it’s not sickeningly sweet or synthetic. It also lasts longer then most of the other body mists by Pluto’s say about 4 hours. This is delicious . Dries down to a creamy sweet soft coconut skin scent. It’s so underrated. Layers well with all coconut or vanilla based products Perfect summer fragrance for gourmand coconut lovers.

i like this body mist but not enough for the price, i love coconut fragrances but i think this one is too green for my liking. not for me personally but i wouldn’t mind smelling this on others. longevity was really good, almost performed like their edp’s. i think i could make this work by lathering it with other vanilla forward fragrances, maybe even soft spot. i think it’s nice, overall 6/10

Nice, not too sweet coconut scent. Opening reminds me a little of surf wax. Dries down to a complex, low-key, pretty scent. Layers well with other summer/solar fragrances. Moderate to intimate sillage. Has insane longevity for a body spray, I can still smell it at the end of the day. Lasts longer on clothes and hair. Underrated scent

This is a delicious coconut scent that reminds me of being on a tropical vacation. It’s sweet and delicious and if you are a coconut fan you will love this, it’s nothing out of this world or unique but im a big coconut fan so I just love this! It this smells similar to sol janeiro coco cabana that has been discontinued .

it smells like this coconut sorbet ice cream i would eat as a kid!! :) plus a little sandalwood once it dries down. very yummy, cozy, and light. i got it on sale for $31. im not very into gourmand/coconut so prob wouldn't have purchased for full price but had to get for the nostalgia factor

This smells like photo realistic coconut, which I feel like is unusual in perfume. It lacks the sweet synthetic quality of a typical coconut fragrance, which deff makes it stand out. This is the kind of thing that I could wear even if I was sick and it still would not make me nauseous.

light, soft, coconut. i'm honestly not really getting much else from it - maybe a bit of something soapy or shampoo like? it's a very fresh and clean kind of tropical.

smells like a cheap coconut perfume, not bad but not great. slightly sunscreen-y, but still coconut, better than most coconut body mists though.

Beach skin is better in my opinion. Very tropical. Mostly coconut over other notes.

Is it the palm that makes this smell so green? I’m not sure but as a standalone scent this isn’t very good imo. The coconut smells more like coconut water with a concoction of grasses and white flowers someone collected off the ground somewhere. It doesn’t smell “bad” by any means but I wouldn’t be likely to grab this over other coconut scents I have owned in the past. HOWEVER, the silver lining is that this is the perfect coconut scent to layer with other fruity fragrances. Anything that is mango, pineapple, guava, papaya forward will instantly smell more tropical. Like sipping on a delicious drink from a Tiki bar. So if you blind bought this and aren’t impressed, don’t give up yet! I only bought a 3mL sample of this mist but I layer it with Eau De Juice Good Energy (a mango body mist) and it smells great.

The coconut and sweetness of this perfume didn't last more than a few minutes but the grassiness and the sandalwood/amber combo won't go away. I guess some people would like this. I'm not a fan. I keep getting whiffs of this even though I sprayed it once on my arm HOURS ago. I think it could smell nice layered at night or during colder nights. I was looking for a summer scent but it's just too spicy. At this price point it's okay I guess. I might return it.

The scent is like an elevated hair product (the curly girls know) or a better Cheirosa 64: very much tropical, clean, summery heaven... I feel like the coconut and salty caramel are there, and sure, I can visualise a frangipani too. Sad that I bought this, and it doesn't last at all on me. It seems strong at the start since I always get my throat a bit irritated (this never happens to me). Wish it lasted because it does make me feel fresh :c

Hmmmmmm this is interesting... I definitely get coconut, but it’s a green coconut sprinkled with a little bit of white floral. Fresh and grassy? Literally makes me think of a hula skirt. I’ll have to wear this longer to see whether I like it or not. Might be really nice layered? ETA: Try this layered with St Barts body spray by Ouai - so much better!

Ok, go light handed with this one, the opening was so full on sweet it genuinely made me a little nauseous, and could easily be headache inducing. Once fully dried down, however, this is actually quite pleasant - it also lasts for ages!! Honestly, there are many better coconut frags out there, but thus is still nice when handled with care

Plasticky waxy coconut with green nuances. Just really unappealing scent. I was really looking forward to this but I guess I'll have to return. On the positive side it has good projection and longevity!

SUPER coconut sorbet. its like coconut sorbet with a touch of sunscreen. i love coconut but this is like COCONUT. if i bought this full price id be sadge. oh well...

I tried this the other day in store at sephora, when I took a whiff on the sampling paper I was absolutely in love !! it was milky thick coconut with a hint of freshly whipped cream, it didn’t even strike me as heavily tropical but more like a creamy lactonic coconut so I was hooked. before I left I decided to spritz my wrist and walk around, giving myself the time to fully absorb the fragrance. maybe after about 10 minutes and walking in the sun for a little bit, I decided to smell my marinated wrist. to my surprise I smelled flat out cardboard with a coconut aftertaste !! after drying down it almost became synthetic and dusty smelling ? i’m not sure what happened but I was so shocked and horrified, I had honestly thought I had found the coconut fragrance of my dreams. i’m just glad I tested it on my skin before impulsively purchasing but a huge disappointment for me personally

Fake plastic coconut with a green, plant-like smell from from the palm leaves note. Super cheap candle vibes. Smells like an attempt at a tropical coconut scent, but not pleasant at all. I can see this one being discontinued. What a let down!

Phlur Coconut Skin has a boozy, lotion-like coconut smell. It’s creamy and a bit heavy on the lotion side. I’m not a big fan of this one—it feels a bit too intense and not quite what I’m looking for in a coconut fragrance.

I wanted to love this and didn’t. It has a lovely coconut but that’s mixed with the Santal 33’s dill pickle scent. I tried it a few times and ended up decluttering it after about a month.

It smells okay at first, but when it settles, it kind of smells like the chemicals at a hair salon. I returned it.

Oh no, where is the gourmand coconut? Omg this smells like hair spray. I will let it sit for a while and pray.

I never like coconut notes so this was a fail for me.

This is so strong and awful. It smells like rotten lawn clippings. I get no coconut at all. Just a very strong green scent that is very unappealing. I had to shower hours after I tried it on. The scent did not diminish or disappear at all. I was on vacation a few days later and someone on the tour bus was wearing it. It made me sick. I’m a perfume addict and try many perfumes. This is the worst I have smelled in years.

Chlorine and sunscreen. Not their best release.. and no, this smells nothing like Cheirosa 39.

overwhelming chemical smell that doesn't go away

It starts in that weird creamy, coconut thick skank. The coconut moves to a toasted scent and unlike the coconut you’d fine in other body mists from say Sol de Janerio. It’s not terrible because the floral notes balance the scales from tipping to the too sweet. I will say this because someone has to, eventually it dries down to BR540 or the light pink Sol adjacent. Not exact but in the same family. It dries to a very sophisticated scent. It’s very enjoyable compared to what it starts as.

I will always be a coconut girl, so I had to get this. This is such a great body spray. It has a very soothing almost shampoo-like smell. But not a shampoo you can get anymore...This smells like one that's been discontinued from the 90's...was it Clairol daily defense maybe?? Either way it brings back nostalgia for me and I always welcome nostalgia. The coconut and palm leaf is there and it smells amazing. I couldn't ask for a better coconut body spray!

Money well spend. I went for Phlur's Beach Skin at Space NK, however immediatelly fell in love with this and ordered it a few days after. This comes across as a toasted, ambery coconut scent with a solid base of sandalwood. I genuinely wish people who state that coconut always smells cheap try this. Stellar longevity on skin and textiles, way better that many designer fragrances. Performs great in hot and humid weather.

i think this might be the only phlur mist i really like, though strangely, this one seems to be really unpopular. for some reason, this smells like ferrero rocher chocolates on me, maybe the nuttiness from the coconut translates to hazelnut on my skin? there’s nothing tropical or beachy about this fragrance and i get zero of the dill pickle scent. life is full of mysteries.

This is the closest thing to a photorealistic scent of an actual tanning salon. Not in a Pauly D coconutty bronzing lotion kinda way but in the actual scent of skin under UV bulbs. Whatever chemical reaction happens with your skin’s oils and pH when it’s under artificial rays behind acrylic panels, well, it smells exactly like this.

When I first sprayed this scent, I immediately realized it smelled so familiar, but I couldn't really tell what until it dried down. Once it's settled on your skin this smells just like thank u next by Ariana Grande minus some of the pickle.

Sprayed on a tester strip and well... it’s not great. It burned my nose. The opening is super strong traditional coconut and hot asphalt on a 100 degree day. The dry down is pretty, but I can’t get past the opening. It’s going back :(

My coworker wears this and it lasts forever. She sprayed it in and room and it's still in there 3 days later. You can smell her across the room. This is one of the strongest body sprays ever. It's unisex imo.

Honestly wasn't too impressed with this. I'm not a fan of green notes and I have plenty of other tropical scents that I prefer. Do people honestly enjoy grassy notes? If so I don't get it
