Mango Mood

Came for the mango, stayed for the floral hedonism. I don't know what chemical sorcery happens on my skin, but that mango lasts all of a fart then dark berries – sure, let's just say they're black currants to be fancy – and those middle notes take over. No vanilla. No patchouli... good, because I dislike that soapy wood smell. Yes, sweetness, but I wouldn't say it's a brown sugar kind of sweet. To my nose, it's the berries that give Mango Mood an earthy, jammy sweetness, and that high-key works to ground those florals. I do get a sprinkle-sprankle of sweet pink pepper, which gives it a faint citrusy zing without actually adding orange, lemons or limes. Love that. ("Mango Perfume, No Coconut, Other Tropical Fruits or Citrus Challenge", anyone? lol) Anyway, back to the mid notes: stunning. Sweet, violet, aquatic and green. Absolutely delicious. Was not expecting to like those florals as much as I did. Not sad about the mango wafting in and out over the next 24hrs. Moderate sillage, beastmode longevity on me. For those who want a photorealistic mango, you won't find it here. This is mango fruit stripped of all the subtle aromachemicals that signal "mango" in your brain. This is a synthetic, candied mango. And, despite the name, it is NOT the star of this fragrance. P.S. If you want a "mango" perfume with intimate sillage that devolves into barely smelling anything (noseblindness? legit poor performance?), comparatively trash longevity (4hrs), and too-strong patchouli to ruin your nose for the rest of the day, try Khadlaj's La Fede Aura Manga Splash. It's exactly the same as Phlur's Mango Mood but slightly more expensive and worse.

I nearly didn’t buy this because of all the negative comments here. But then I thought about it and noticed the notes were similar to other perfumes I enjoy that also happen to be unpopular, so then I decided to say screw it and blind buy it anyway since everyone has different tastes; and I love it! It’s a lovely body mist so I was right to go ahead and buy it regardless of what everyone else is saying. My sister also agrees that it’s great, she said it was sweet but in a good way and I agree, there’s a sweetness to the juicy and realistic mango but it’s also a mature and somewhat sophisticated scent due to the other notes. Personally I’ll be wearing this during the summer as it’s a wonderful summer scent and I’m very surprised a lot of people aren’t fans as to me it feels like a very safe blind buy, I’m kinda confused why so many people don’t like it because I think it’s quite the people pleasing scent too, though to each their own I guess. Edit: this is amazing, I love it and can’t stop smelling myself today since it’s all I’m wearing, maybe it’s just how it reacts to my body chemistry but it’s absolutely heavenly on me, it’s such a sexy scent too which I forgot to mention earlier. When I finish the bottle I have now, I’m 100% getting the biggest bottle.

This is Mango Skin on a budget. Mango Skin is stronger, with a smoother and more refined dry down. But I would say these two are extremely close like 90% similar. I don’t think Vilhelm Perfume reveals all the notes because there is something soft and silky in the dry down that Mango Mood does not replicate. When I smell Mango Mood I pick up a realistic, juicy mango and a spicy grounding patchouli that does not smell dirty. There is a little sweetness in the base that I think is the brown sugar and vanilla. I do not smell any florals. I have had this for about year and the Mango hangs around a lot longer now. When my bottle was new the mango note dissipated quickly. Longevity is very good and the projection is moderate. Which I think is a positive because patchouli is such a polarizing note. For layering suggestions: anything from the Rabanne Fame line. But for something more tart, pair it with Saltair Exotic Pulp. 8/10, because Mango Mood is a versatile, easy reach scent that stands out and can be worn year round.

Wow do I love this. Heard that it’s similar to Mango Skin and that is 90% true. It has that juicy yet green mango with a black berry undertone like in mango skin. There is a very light patchouli way in the back and becomes slightly sweeter in the dry down. Lasts pretty good too for a body spray, like 6 hours. So happy to have this in my collection such as steal for $38 and that it’s a great dupe for mango skin

when compared to the tiny sample of Mango Skin that I have, this is an exact dupe. I love the sweet perfume-y, juiciness of this scent and that it performs like a perfume! such a good one to use during the summer while ur at the beach or use before bed for an uplifting scent. I did get the larger size but honestly you do. not. need that much since the performance is amazing for just a few sprays.

YUM YUM YUM YUM! i wore this to my summer thailand trip and to a huge devin halbal meet and greet (lol). i smelled so mango-ey without too many florals changing it up. it has a synthetic edge to it, but it was barely noticeable and it was also not unwelcome. i wish it lasted longer but its very nature prevents that, i guess (edp version kudasai).

I love this. It is a versatile layering option for summer fruity EDPs. I like that it is sweet because I can layer it with darker fragrances. It helps brighten up some of my woodier Middle Eastern fragrances. It's an easy reach for summer days on the go. It is a mood-lifting , happy fragrance. Delightful!

Easily my favorite mango fragrance. I do wish it lasted a bit longer, although the lasting power is still impressive for a body spray. It’s the perfect summertime scent with great sillage. Smells like a sexy, mature mango that’s sweet without being overpowering or nauseating.

I LOVE IT. its perfect for the summer, has good silliage, i get a lot of compliments on it. this had me discover that i love orris in perfume - it adds just the perfect amount of depth here into the sweetness

This is summer in a bottle! What a fun scent. It will mix well with floral perfumes. It is bright, juicy, and sweet. Great topper for spring and summer to lift up your spirits

I feel like it’s pretty similar to Mango skin. The notes are similar as well good dupe.

I LOVE how fruity/spicy/woody this is. It's so delightful and really lifts my mood.

Mango Skin on a budget! What’s not to love? 🥭🧡

I’m a fan of sweet, simple fruity scents and was looking for an affordable mango fragrance. On first spray it’s fairly unique in my limited experience, almost sharply sweet in a warm, slightly tropical way but also nearly too loud—I could see it inducing a headache on a bad day. As the opening dies down a little it feels tamer. On the whole it’s probably more the sweet idea of mango than a photorealistic, pulpy one. I was worried about the florals and patchouli as I don’t love them on myself but the florals seem smooth and inoffensive if they’re there at all and the patchouli blends in nicely. The dry-down was most of what convinced me to buy this after spraying it on my arm once. The projection by this point isn’t great (which isn’t exactly shocking) but I got wafts of nice, sugary vanilla that made me keep smelling my arm. It still holds something that might read a little sickly to some but as it fades the warm, smooth vanilla takes over. Overall not perfect but solid and pretty for the price. I will likely keep looking for different mango scents but am glad I have it.

I got all 3 body mists, and this my favorite of the 3 so far which is funny, because while I do appreciate a good fruity scent profile, it’s never usually my favorite. What I like about this is that it’s not just a linear mango fragrance, like you would find at bath and body works or in a regular big box body mist — it has depth and complexity. This spray smells like a PERFUME as opposed to just another body mist. The mango is definitely the star, but her backups are CARRYING honey. And doing a damn good job too, might I add. I normally dont like patchouli, but it doesn’t bother me here — it’s giving very much a coco mademoiselle type of feel, as opposed to dirty hippie. A little spicy from the pink pepper, this is interesting and has character... definitely a standout to me. If you try any of them, try this one! This is the winner so far in my book.

This is a solid body mist. It starts out verrrry fruity and tropical with the mango, and sweet but not too sweet. With the dry-down, I got a hint of the pink pepper (if at all, I may have hallucinated/been looking too hard for it). After a while, the jasmine note emerges quite distinctly. Then, it settles into the patchouli—very rich and deep, earthy/woody and herbaceous. I didn't pick up on the brown sugar or vanilla notes, or any distinct sweetness at the end, but that's okay. And, while I'm not a huge fan of patchouli, it rounds the fragrance out quite well. I only wish there was a bit more fruitiness throughout. The sillage is moderate and longevity is relatively long-lasting (context: I sprayed this on at 8 am and still very much smell the patchouli around 3 pm). A good 7/10 for me overall.

At first spray I got a sweet yet floral mango that smelled a lot like the “Mango Skin” perfume. For this price I am happy to have found such a close dupe! It has white floral and lotus notes and there is a sweetness not really from the mango but from vanilla and sugar. The mango is prominent and obvious but it adds to the fruity top notes and is supported by the other notes. With the dry down I don’t think it changes much, it is a very straight forward scent but is very nice and unique for a mango scent. Usually mango scents tend to be tropical but this one does not lean just tropical to me to be honest it really celebrates the fruit and not just a season or tone. I will definitely enjoy wearing this when I am in a mango mood!

Fun cheapie! Smells like a creamy-spicy vanilla and mango pudding I get at a bakery near me. I layer this on top of Oh Ma Biche by Lolita Lempicka to add some softness. Simple yet nice. This is my go-to whenever I'm wearing a comfortable warm weather outfit and want to smell good but don't want to overpower the room. I keep this in my bag at school since the bottle isn't too big and it's easy to re-spray in public. Safe blind buy if you're okay with a little spice and a bit of patchouli.

If you love and miss Mugler Angel Eau Croisière, Mango Mood is as close as it gets with a much more balanced, better blended patchouli note. They should have made this into an perfume though, as the performance is not the greatest with this one. It's sparkling, juicy mango with a slight tartness/sharpness and and earthy green patchouli. Mango Mood also smells similar to Mango Skin in the heart but to me Mango Skin has a much sweeter dry down whereas Phlur's stays green.

Mango Mood is an inoffensive fruitchouli. If you can find the body spray at a discounted price, it's a nice summer "party" fragrance. I can see wearing this for a "girls night out", brunch, wine tasting. In other words, it's casual, fun, and really very sweet. There's nothing particularly special about it. Drydown is soft and powdery, and will not create a headache inducing cloud in your radius.

At first, it is a dense, gorgeous mango that’s almost syrupy in nature. But it turns into this sent that reminds me of overripe fruit flesh. It becomes berry centric rather than mango, and almost reminds me of Byredo’s Pulp. It’s a basket of fruits. However, this is super fun. I still really enjoy the sun overall and I have been using it interspersed for the past summer months. Fruity tooty.

This is so familiar to me but I can’t place it and it’s driving me nuts! It smells like something that was popular in the early 2000s. I don’t smell brown sugar or anything gourmand whatsoever. It’s a fresh fruitchouli, most similar to the likes of coco mademoiselle, though not near as loud. It’s pretty and easy to wear, extraordinary lasting power for a body spray.

Phlur's body mists have amazing longevity, and Mango Mood is no exception 😁 It's an easy reach for hot days. Luckily, I get a lot of mango from it, along with blackcurrant (I know some people think the blackcurrant note smells like cat pee). I love layering it with soft, creamy fragrances (Fleur de Lait is my top choice) to give them a fruity boost.

This is bright and fruity and slightly floral, perfect for Spring and Summer. I have this on one wrist and Vilhelm's Mango Skin on the other and the latter is a *little bit* brighter and less sweet, but if I didn't have them side by side I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, a 98% dupe IMO

I was unsure of this one at first, but those unusual notes of brown sugar and patchouli really unexpectedly grew on me. It's still definitely a summer scent, with juicy ripe mango, but not too sweet or childish. Definitely a more mature tropical scent. Sultry enough for wear at night as well.

if you come from a country that has mangoes, this probably wouldn't be that sweet fruit you expect. I mean it is sweet but it's a bit heavy in a way that mangoes are not. It's a very perfumy mango not photorealistic. Not a bad perfume but didn't satisfy my cravings for a mango fragrance

Burnt sugar and dried mango! It’s actually pretty good and quite unusual. Very radiant for a nody mist, with a strong protection, but same as with other products from this brand - I’m missing depth here. It’s very linear and super into your face kind of scent.

The opening is horrendous for those who are not fans of Pink pepper, like me. Thankfully it only lasts a few seconds, after that I can still smell the mango with the middle notes. It smells like a clean powdery mango, not too sweet and not too floral.

Surprisingly one of my most complimented fragrances. I don't pick up on the mango note too much, but this has a good balance of fruity and floral. Sweet but by no means cloying. Really enjoyed this!

I love this one and I got it as an afterthought cos I don't typically like mango fragrances! Prefer it to Caramel skin and Coconut skin even though I'm more of a gourmand girl.

Smells wayyyyy more like blackcurrant than mango, which I'm super disappointed with because I wanted a pure mango fragrance :( Not bad but not what I expected either

smells nothing of mango and everything of blackcurrant, very much Armani Si, at least on my skin. sold it and got Zara's Memorable Aura for a true mango perfume.

Beautiful opener, musty dry-down. Needs to be reapplied. But to be fair, this was a very workable introduction to my new passion: mango scents.

A dark sexy mango. As far as mists go it’s complex and has a creamy dry down I quite enjoy.

This smells like Trident lairs Tropical twist. Its good but smells a little childish.

Smells a lot like Finer’y Magnetic Candy in the dry down

I purchased all 3 of the new mists. This gives off Kayali vibes, if they were going to do a fruity body mist. I think it's definitely different than every other Phlur fragrance. Currant isjuicy, pink pepper a bit zingy, mango is ripe and syrupy. Watery florals, soft and leaning slightly crisp green, cuts the sticky syrupy mango. The base dries down to a vibe that feels like Kayali DNA - brown sugar, vanilla, patchouli. Starts off sweet and juicy as expected with the mango note, but dries down with a dark twist. This is nighttime mango, not brunch smoothie mango. Almost boozy without a boozy note... somehow almost leaning Killian Angel's Share with mango. I can see similarities to VP Mango Skin because of the prominent mango as an uncommon note, both leaning nighttime mango but this has less salty skin, more dark brown sugar base. I don't enjoy patchouli as a note but I think this was the most balanced and well blended of the 3 mists. If you like something sweet and fruity and also enjoy the Kayali kind of sugar vanilla patchouli sweet and spicy sort of thing, this could be a hit. Definitely not as heavy as a Kayali scent, definitely not as light and easy as a typical Phlur scent, but certainly well blended and interesting without being alienating. Lasting power is moderate for a mist, sillage more moderate than intimate.

Okay maybe I’m crazy... but I love this. I sprayed it at 1pm and it’s now 10:30 pm and I can still smell it. It definitely lays closer to the skin, but it’s still super impressive for a body spray. I don’t totally smell the mango, but it’s a fruity fragrance on top. But what lingers is this super sultry almost ambery sweet, musk smell. It leaves a hint of fruitiness behind but that like deep sugared skin smell is stunning. I asked my mom to smell my wrists because I had this on one and 7 virtues Amber Vanilla and she liked this one way more. I think this is a great scent to wear in warm weather because it’s just gets deeper and sweeter as it lays on the skin. I wore it to the gym and was like huffing my wrist I thought people were going to look at me all sorts of crazy. It is a spring-Fall fragrance for me and I think it transitions from day to night really well. For me this is like a 9-10/10. Long lasting, great price, great smell, unique, and versatile. I’m glad I picked it up!

Fruity and tropical where?? To me, it leans towards a more citrus-non ripe mango. Idk if my bottle just needs to marinate more, but I don’t find this to be sweet AT ALL. I'd describe it as a "grown up" citrus-fruity scent, not quite tropical or sweet mango. I do plan on letting it marinate, and then trying it on again, but for now, I'm not impressed. I will say, that it lasts for quite a while, and the sillage leans towards strong:)) Edit: 3 months later, and this mist has grown on me! It smells a tad bit sweeter now, and I enjoy layering it with Lattafa's Yara Tous!

Unfortunately the more I smell this the more I smell public washroom. I don't detect mango at any point during dry-down, nor do I smell it during the initial spray. Must be the black currant, because if I didn't know it was supposed to smell like mango I would have guessed it's supposed to be a berry fragrance. I thought spraying it on clothes would help, but honestly I think it's worse on fabric.

Just like mango skin without the lasting power. I find mango skin to be very sharp and headache inducing, mango mood is no different. There is a pink pepper in the opening, so this might be the reason. I was hoping this would be sweeter, but it's not. I also tried layering it with sweet vanillic perfumes, and the sharpness just took over. So it's a no for me!

How do you solve a problem luke Patchouli? The world may never know. I like Patchouli but sweet Jesus it seems to be in everything and overpowers the scent. I smell no mango. I swear the more familiar I get with Patchouli, the mor either stands out and dominates any fragrance it's in.

i get a spicy patchouli with a lil mango , its nice but i wanted something sweeter this is a sexy grown mango tho i will say also find i think it smells better on others than me so maybe its the way my skin pulls it but i wouldnt blind buy this thinking its gonna be juicy sweet mango

Was incredibly disappointed by this one. The opening is beautiful with a very photorealistic, light, fresh, ripe mango smell, which gave me high hopes for the rest of the wear. But I swear that ripe mango scent only lasts five minutes. Almost immediately it turns into this synthetic, vaguely berry-like scent (think more blackberry than black current), with this strange generic undercurrent that I can only describe as the scent you get permeating throughout a Sephora. In the dry down, I definitely get the brown sugar, and perhaps if the mango had stayed around I would have liked these two smells together, but unfortunately all I was left with was a synthetic berry, brown sugar, mess. In fact, now that I think about it, this has the same dry down as Mood Ring by phlur, which I also disliked, so maybe they share the same dna. On the upside, like everyone has mentioned this is relatively affordable and has pretty impressive longevity for a body spray (6 hours on me), so if it works for you, you get a pretty good deal, and if it doesn’t, at least you won’t break the bank.

I wish I could smell the candied mango , juice mango, vanilla and all sorts of good stuff that other people do. On me the mango dissipates quite fast, and I am left with a powdery clean patchouli, not unlike Coco Mademoiselle, which I don't like. On clothes this is much better than on skin, because the patchouli doesn't come full force. I mixed with with Heavy Cream from the same brand to make it more palatable, but it still is not a love. Of course this was online, since Sephora didn't have any tester in store. Oh, and I got the giant bottle.... why why why. I wanted the Vanilla Nectar, took a chance on this, and I regret it. Quality is definitely over there, silage and lasting powder on me are top notch, I sprayed it on my hands, watched them with soap, and the smell is still there. But it's doesn't have enough mango to justify the name.

upon first spray it smells juicy, sweet and fruity like mango-flavored aloe juice. even then i wouldn't say it smells exactly like a mango, more like natural mango flavoring. however several minutes after the drydown was absolutely horrendous. the patchouli made it smell like a cheaply made body spray; not even bbw cheap, but something you'd find in the far back of a clearance store shelf behind some old makeup. it was so cloying and herby that it gets nauseating especially when you're in a closed environment. drydown made it a complete 180 & it's very tragic really

Started off so promising with a blast of ripe, juicy mango, and then ended disappointed as the patchouli took over and made this smell more earthy/dirty. The opening, which lasts a few minutes at most is, in my opinion, the best part of this fragrance. If you struggle with patchouli try this before buying. Even if you like mango I don’t think this is a safe blind buy. Edit: Spray on clothes only if you dislike the patchouli dry down. It lasts much longer and preserves the juicy mango top notes. Ended up buying a bottle because of this.

Has a really sharp, almost rotten fruit scent on me that I can only assume is from the patchouli. Otherwise, the mango is quite strong but I don’t get any vanilla. Has moderate sillage and lasts all day on me. In terms of perfumes listed as similar— ✔️ Vilhelm Parfumerie Mango Skin: similar just a bit less patchouli heavy ❌ Commodity Juice: a sweet rhubarb and rose scent

I agree with all of the reviews saying this is a patchouli bombbb. The deep dry down like 5-6 hours after applying is pretty, more of the brown sugar comes out and some nondescript fruitiness. I still don’t really get mango though. Not eager to wear this one again
