Missing Person

Missing person is a very strange experience. The first 5 times I couldn't sense anything. Nothing. Like air. But I had to deal with the claim that there is a scent design attached to this fluid. So I didn't give up, thought to myself that the title is very accurate. I applied it generously, 5 sprays (unheard of in my world) and picked up something in the background. Felt like a memory you can't put your finger on it, or a word you would like to say and it is at the tip of your tongue but you can't grasp it. I did this every day for a week and by the end of the week 4 people who I hugged when saying hi were all over me, obsessing over my scent that I couldn't smell. I felt like I was the missing person hahaha or the person who is missing out on this scent. After one week it grew in my perception, it is truly like a soft idea floating around me as a scent, it is there and then it isn't. I really appreciate this kind of scent interaction as I love the subtile. I really don't know how to describe it other than that it really feels like the background scent you get from some clothing you wore a while ago or from your lover. It is not about the specific scent, it is about the background story that pulls your attention. Very interesting experience. I love it. I spray 5 times and I am delighted when the scent crosses my nose during the day to drift by and leave me behind immediately. Like a quick hello. No longterm hanging around, just hi and bye in the sweetest way. It does changes your thoughts as you can't hold onto it. You have to be present to perceive it and then let go. Good teacher ...but somebody might crush it with the judgment about its subtile interaction with you and your surrounding. I honestly don't know how I heard about Missing Person. Let's be honest...I'm too mature (old) to be swayed by any influenster, and I don't subscribe to TikTok, so my feelings about Missing Person are all my own. Last Spring, 2022, I was looking for something light and feminine to not be cloying in the Southern heat and humidity. I purchased a sample of Missing Person. After applying the juice, I kept thinking, "What is that scent? I've smelled that before." It took me awhile, and finally my college days' memories of Love's Wild Jasmine came flooding back. OMGoodness, memories of college loves I thought I'd marry, loves that got away, partying until dawn, watching the sun come up, and sneaking back into the dorm flooded every part of me. These were the early to mid 70s for me, and the BEST times of my life as I currently hit the autumn and winter of my life. All I have are my memories, and Missing Person evokes those wonderful times for me. Yes, there is that jasmine (which reminds me of the song Summer Breeze...."Summer breeze makes me feel fine. Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind"). The white musk and sandalwood ground this fragrance and give it a more mature depth than Love's Wild Jasmine. As we get older, children leave the nest, retirement sets in, we tend to relive those days gone by. I've gotten addicted to this fragrance. I have the body wash, lotion, hand lotion, FB EDP, travel size EDP, and the NEW offering of the perfume oil in a sleek black, roller ball tube. I just got the perfume oil today, and it's heavenly. The scent lingers longer, and it will be a fabulous layering tool. So, after all that, this hippie, rocker chick says to all of you...Peace. And, enjoy whatever fragrance makes you happy.

Cozy like a lustful embrace, very romantic and soft but not boobs in your face fem. This is a faint-whisper-kiss-on-the-ear intimate fragrance that immediately allured me into the house. This fragrance will make you haunt the narrative, like a widow holds their lovers clothes close. On my skin this is an incredibly refreshing white floral and when paired with the body oil, I become this warm, sweet plush idol that my partner (even in sleep) won’t let go of. Jasmines and sandalwood stick more to my skin as time goes by. I was hesitant purchasing both the perfume and the body oil as many people pointed out it wasn’t potent in smell. I wouldn’t expect an intimate scent like this to linger as strongly as it did by itself as a body oil. Over the course of the month of February, our weather was breezy, wet some days, but fairly cool. I think this made it stand out a little more (more people asking what I was wearing 🤷🏻♀️) An amazing strain I’d pair this to (depending on how intimate and cozy you wanna be with this) is the Original Z. Hot take but on its own it’s a sweet, berry indica that relaxes you as much as this fragrance soothes you. Together, they become a cuddle puddle for a nostalgia marathon and chill~ 10/10

Ok so first, I thought this should be named Missing Perfume because I couldn't smell sheeeit. I kept trying it out, because I didn't wanna return because lazy. I started to be able to smell it more and more, like my nose was in training for it. Now I get a clean woody skin musk with a little kick. Not spice perse but a lil bit of jazz hands. Yea it's intimate sillage, but I know I smell nice when I'm right near someone. This also may be the longest lasting Phlur fragrance I own. I surprisingly was getting whiffs of this 5 hours in. Now I'm looking for some more skin scents because I guess I forgot how nice they can be. Usually I want the most for my money. If I spend it, you gotta smell it. If I only gotta spray once or twice so I dont choke people out? GOOD. I'm not a monster, I'm not out here overspraying Kerosene Followed, I just want what I buy to waft around longer than a fart. Is that so much to ask? TLDR I couldn't smell it, now I can, and its pretty great. Getting into my "My skin just naturally smells good" perfume phase. If you can find it, and like perfume oils, Bastet Amber by Nocturne Alchemy is like the indie oil form of this. So mad they discontinued it. Bitches.

TL;DR: to me, Missing Person smells like dog fur. I bought the 8ml travel size of Missing Person a couple of years ago, and at first it smelled quite unusual. I first thought it smelled like I just washed my dog with dog shampoo, and at the time I wasn't too sure if I wanted to smell like that myself. However, I was weirdly drawn to wearing it and I used up my travel size within a couple of weeks. I also place a tshirt on the radiator and the scent filled the hallway which was lovely. Since then, my dog sadly passed and there isnt a day where I don't think of her and miss her terribly. One day fairly recently I had visited my mum who also has a dog thats the same breed as mine (Staffordshire bull terrier) and whilst I was petting him I smelled his fur, and immediately I thought "he smells like Missing Person" there was something reassuring about the scent of a fur baby. I couldn't get it out of my head, and I just had to buy a bottle. It is so comforting, animalic and as I have already stated, reassuring. It's like cuddling your fur friend, feeling safe and secure and nothing else matters in the world.

So when I first smelled and heard of this perfume I thought immediately of an Southern/Midwestern Gothic, a girl gone missing, her perpetrator scot free, and a mother never knowing what happened to her daughter. It is something like Ethel Cain's "Preacher's Daughter". A hollowing loneliness but you know you will see them again, and you can only imagine the pain they felt as they lived their life so far away from you. This scent is striking, but only if you let it. I find that if you just like a pretty fragrance, you can wear this, but if you want a story Missing Person can tell one. It's so soft, the musk makes it's perfect here, and it has a bit of an grandma smell to it, but don't be detured, it's maturity makes it perfect, anything else and it would smell nostalgic, and that wouldn't work for what this fragrance is trying to be. Sits close to the skin, is clean, cozy, and can be used at an everyday perfume. I have a sample and was gonna save it for an upcoming special occasion but it infects me.

I genuinely feel like I’ve been living under a rock for not trying Missing Person sooner. After two days of TikTok videos of people literally crying over this perfume, I ran to Sephora knowing there was a very high chance I’d leave with it. The second I sprayed it, I understood the hype. No, I didn’t cry in Sephora, but it definitely wrapped me into this soft, comforting little emotional cloud. It’s a true skin scent-strong alcohol opening for a few seconds, and then suddenly it turns into something incredibly delicate, clean, warm and intimate. I’m not going to pretend to be an expert and analyse every note, but I will say this: everyone should try this fragrance at least once!!! Also, Sephora didn’t have the 50ml...so now I own 100ml. Pray for me, ahahahha:) And yes, apparently people get endless compliments wearing this. So far I’ve only received compliments from myself...but I’m patiently waiting!)

I discovered this fragrance while purchasing the hand cream, and somehow it felt less like finding a perfume and more like uncovering a memory I didn’t know I had kept. The moment I smelled it, I was transported back to my babushka's embrace, the soft trail of her perfume lingering against my cheek long after the hug had ended. It’s the first fragrance that has ever given me a vivid flashback. Missing Person feels incredibly evocative: warm, powdery, floral, intimate, and gently nostalgic. Like being wrapped in the arms of a beloved old acquaintance, smelling her floral and powdery perfume and whose presence alone made the world feel softer. As a hand cream, it becomes even more beautiful. The warmth of the skin awakens the fragrance in such a tender and comforting way. I like putting this hand cream at night and smelling my hands to sleep.

One of my all-time FAVORITES. Deliciously clean without being the least bit tacky or soapy. Truly "your skin only better". Just be aware that it is a true, close-clinging skin scent - the longevity is good, but the projection and sillage are low by design. It's not going to fill a room or turn heads, but to me that's a good thing. The people who are physically closest to you will smell a lovely, soft, intimate, nostalgic, cozy, warm skin scent. Like Sunday morning snuggles or sunshine on clean skin. Not a drop fake or harsh, completely addictive... a total slam dunk by Phlur. If they made it in a shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, laundry sheets... I'd literally buy them all. I want everyone in hugging distance to think that I just naturally smell like this.

The jasmine and orange blossom are the real stars here, integrating flawlessly with the musk and sandalwood base. After testing around 20 different musks over the last few months, I can say this one has a truly unique DNA. There’s absolutely none of that sharp, camphoric, or medicinal dry down you sometimes find with others; it stays smooth and refined from start to finish. It’s a versatile powerhouse that layers like a dream but has more than enough character to stand on its own. A definite 10 out of 10!

Let me start by saying that I am perfectly aware that this might not be wearable for many people. Personally, I haven’t been able to get this out of my head. In the most photorealistic way possible, this smells like my childhood; a shower after being in the pool all day, combining wet swimsuit smell with clean skin, and a post-swim-shower freshly laundered t-shirt. I can’t help but love it. It embodies pure happiness, summer, sunshine. Being picked up from school in the final week. I can certainly understand why many of the reviewers don’t like this. They haven’t smelled this before in another time in their life like those of us who love Missing Person have. The person missing here is my childhood self... this brings me nostalgic joy

I constantly read reviews for skin scents where they are described as "like a clean white tee shirt". I have never really understood what people meant by that after smelling other fragrances often compared to it. THIS fragrance, however, is the epitome of a clean white tee shirt. it smells warm and musky while simultaneously smelling like crisp fresh laundry out of the dryer. there is a bit of pepperiness in the opening that adds depth and keeps this fragrance interesting. a recent comment below says that this smells a bit like freshly printed papers from a copy machine and I actually do understand that. I love it and will definitely add it to my regular rotation when I am not feeling like smelling like perfume!

The girl who gets it, gets it, the girl who doesnt, doesnt. The smell is very cashmere musk, it is not cardboard smell like glossier you, this is more like clean laundry that just got out of the dryer. It is even better on the skin and it is not projected if you spray it on fabric. It last whole day on clean skin, but not projected well, only the one who lean into you can smell the exact smell, the rest just makes you faintly smell good, as if your body radiates fresh smell or at least you have very meticulous hygiene. Wear this 4 sprays on neck and wrist, and use vanilla skin body mist all over your fabric, very faint inoffensive yummy smell, try it!

This scent has grown on me. I tried it out when it first came out and was unimpressed and didn’t understand the hype. Now, I can’t stop smelling myself. It reminds me of hugging my aunt (but not in an old person way)- she wore Narciso Rodriguez For Her and drank Pinot Grigio, and that’s exactly what it smells like to me, and I love it. It smells like a bougie musk to me. I think this would layer beautifully with an understated vanilla. This lasts longer on my clothes than my skin. It’s not a loud scent, but it’s definitely there, an it smells like a core memory

I'm struggling to describe this scent, first spray was giving me a scent reminisent of getting a whiff of fresh laundry steam coming out of a house as you walk by on a cold day. Not soapy, but a clean, warm, and cozy scent. Starts off powdery and rich like and fades to a warm, sweet and spicy scent. A subtly sensual undertone that unfolds very much like a lover, slowly removing their clothing piece by piece. Subtle skin scent that reminds me of Dossier You but better and more layered. Very cool scent looking forward to testing the rest of the discovery set.

i'm surprised that people can't even smell this. i tried it recently and it's the most intimate, cozy, and intoxicating fragrance i have ever smelled. it smells like a missing person in the sense you used to know them very well and now you don't talk to them anymore or know what they're doing, you miss them and the good memories you had with them. i'm not sure how they were able to put that in a fragrance, maybe it's the musk, but that's what it smells like. don't let the sea of bad reviews get in the way of you at least trying it

Missing Person grew on me. Big time! First day it was just a nice clean faint almost hay-like skinscent. Nothing special. Two days later everything changed. I kept smelling it from my shirt and the scent was peaking through whole day long. Love it! Feels like warm skin in the summer heat, almost ozonic fresh with a touch of flowery sweetness. Delicate and gentle but somehow very attractive. To me at least. That kind of musk I am looking for. I only wished the scent projected more but the longevity is there. I get around 5-6hours.

One of my ride or die scents. I feel like it’s such a calm and cozy scent that can be worn at literally anytime. I don’t know how to explain it other than it just feels like a warm hug... it makes me so happy :’) I can understand how some people may take this as a bit grandma-y or powdery, but to me it’s a perfect neutral everyday wear. definitely an intimate scent, but for me, this scent lasts all day and more. There will be times when I spray it on a sweatshirt and come back to it several days later and the scent is still there

probably my GOAT perfume. so insanely wearable and honestly have never smelled anything like it. it’s been said but it truly smells like a personal scent, nothing synthetic about it at all. THE perfect base layer for almost anything. ive worn this under woody, ive worn this under floral, ive born this under tropical. i will say, i think this completely depends on the skin of the wearer. on myself/my mother this is a distinct musk, on my partner it’s completely powdery. and by the reviews, on some it’s nothing!

This should be called Missing Perfume because WHERE ARE THE FUMES?! I faintly smell something that's actually kinda nice, but its so faint I don't see the point. I had 7 people say they either couldn't smell anything or barely smell it. Like I said the faint scent i can get is nice and I'd probably really love this. If only I could really SMELL IT. What i can get is a slightly peppery, woody, Vanilla skin musk. If you can truly smell this, just know that I am jealous.

you're smelling someone's jumper that's been worn and there's their natural clean scent mixed with fragrance they wore. I have a sense of a long forgotten memory emerging, almost half real. my mother coming back home and the autumn cold air still clung to her black coat and her neck (she looked very gorgeous in that black coat and a black beret style hat), and there is still a very diffused residue of some kind of lancôme perfume she'd put on in the morning

I’m not sure I have much to add to the discourse on Missing Person, but this was my gateway drug to sheer skin scents. While it is of course very intimate, and performs different depending on skin chem, I love it and find it very comforting for a post-shower bedtime scent, and inoffensive for a plane travel day or the office. Also works great for layering, and performs better if you use the MP body oil or lotion alongside it.

Ok I'm a bit shaken by how much I love this...I told myself I wasn't going to buy more full size perfumes rn... I was a bit resistant to this brand for simply for name and design lol but wow please forgive me --- Missing person MIA scent does not last :( Um yeah this is why I'm so skeptical of these new houses, quality is shit no projection like why am I buying this. Basically is a room spray at that point

I prefer the body oil to the perfume - it makes me feel really composed after a shower without any additional manicuring and subtly anchors just about any fragrance I might layer over it. When I come to bed wearing it, it has a soothing effect on both my gentleman and myself. I'd sum it up as an intimate, consistent scent that is very sensual without being sexy. (Yes, like a "cleanis.")

Honestly, I love this but it’s also weak and very intimate. Sometimes I smell it on me, others I don’t. However it is beautiful after a nighttime bath/shower right before bed. Super comforting and one of the best skin scents. A little sweet, a little woody and definitely comforting. Just don’t expect this to last forever or be a beast mode fragrance. It’s not intended to be.

Missing person is a gorgeous, subtle, musky / white floral skin scent. It is soft, warm and clean, sitting so close to the skin that I find it hard to distinguish the notes. To me it’s like a hug from a friend who just got a blow dry wearing her new cashmere cardigan. It does remind me of Glossier You Fleur - which would be a more budget-friendly option!

I love missing person! I don’t get everyone saying it smells like nothing..... to me it’s Egyptian goddess! Which I was obsessed with as a kid/teen. Always wanted to find a parfume version. It’s a clean, musky close to the skin scent. Very fresh! I love it and will be wearing often this spring & summer! Love layering with JHAG not a perfume!

This is a very cozy, comforting scent with a skin-like quality to it. Which sounds a little weird but this scent is beautiful and very wearable. Missing Person is a soft, smooth and intimate scent. Not for people who want something intense or heavy. A safe perfume for any occasion and is currently one of the perfumes i reach for daily.

Cozy comforting amazing scent! I use the oil and the perfume and it lasts on my clothes and even sheets. I don’t think anyone could go wrong using this one. It isn’t strong, I’d say delicate. Soft clean girl vibes. I’ve never smelled anything like it and will always repurchase this one. I love to where it at night after my shower 💞💞

Love it. Light, soft, and airy. The perfect 'oh no i'm not wearing any perfume, it's just my skin scent' perfume. Performance is very intimate so I understand it may not be for everyone, but I think that is the essence of this one. A soft, transparent musk with a little bit of sweetness like you just came out of a warm shower.

This is the first "skin" scent in my collection, and I am pleasantly surprised! I get what people are saying that it smells like a warm hug from someone you love. It smells exactly like, clean skin but in a sophisticated way. I was also surprised at the fact that it projects quite a bit as well.

This smells like a hug. It just makes you smell like you showered and used good products, plus you have a nice natural smell. This has a very pleasant sandalwood accord that sets it apart from many of the other skin scents. It lasts long because my coworker smelled it on me at the end of day!

This perfume makes me happy. One sniff can change my whole mood. I really can’t explain it but it reminds me of my late husbands hug, even though it does not smell like him. I wish it had better projection and lasted longer but it’s a love and I will always have a backup of this one.

I smell mostly sandalwood aromachemicals (Sandela 85 and Sandalore) and musks (muscenone, ethylene brassylate and helvetolide). I get zero florals. This is a truly unisex scent. My coworker wears this and you can smell them from 10 feet away lol.

I just bought my second bottle and it has a coconut smell, did they change the goddamn formula?? I’m hoping It just need to sit a while to become itself because it’s my favourite ever skin musk, warm and clean and how you’d hope an angel smells

I love her so much. Might be one of my new favorites. I had to get her bcs I love Fin’ery Without A Trace so much. I’m a little disappointed in the strength of this perfume though. I wish it was stronger. I’m wondering if it’s worth the price.

the best skin scent ive tried thus far, its such an INTOXICATING musk scent. on my skin it radiates, it’s so lifting, comforting, and almost romantic. i yearn to smell like this naturally somehow, maybe in my dreams. to my favorites this goes

starts as the skin of the person you love (one-sided) and soon turns into their "missing" poster. very melancholic. there was a person here, once... definitely picking up on the creepy church basement vibes someone mentioned.

Gosh, this perfume has become my number one most-sprayed perfume of all time. I HAVE to smell it every day. It's addictive beyond anything else. It's the most beautiful, clean skin smell. I just wish it were louder at times.

Beautiful skin scent. I love this and Father Figure, but Missing Person has much better longevity. I haven't been wearing it as much lately because I think it leans more fall/winter, but I love it in the daytime for work.

Smells like the memory of cuddling with a lover. Very mysterious clean skin smell but not necessarily “fresh” maybe like someone who sat in a small park during autumn or a childhood best friend coming down the stairs.

A pretty fuzzy musky skin scent. Reminds me of a hot lint catcher from the dryer. Like throwing fresh, warm white cotton towels on the bed and laying in them. One of my favorite musk-skin scents I’ve smelt.

Very cozy and comforting scent. I don't know how else to describe it. I LOVE Missing Person. I layered the body oil w/Bath & Body Works' Peepin' It Real fragrance mist and it's SO GOOOD!!!!!!

I love that scent. I have the body oil as well and I can't wait to take a shower at the end of the day and to use the oil. It just calms me down. It feels like a hug to me.

My roommate wears this and they always smell so good, I'll steal a spray sometimes because this perfume is so addictive. It's a soft floral, musky, cold metal type smell.
