Olmsted & Vaux

This smells like morning dew and real citrus but in the woods. Every note in this smells real and fresh. In fact, this is the most high quality citrus I've ever smelled and it lasts the entire day. Longevity and performance gets an easy 10. The citrus stays around until the entire duration and never fades away. I've never had a citrus fragrance perform this well ever. Amazing and unique.

If you are wondering like I was, the name comes from the architects of Central Park in NY. Totally reminds me of a slightly drier DKNY Pure Verbena. Initial note is dry and alcoholic, but it quickly settles into sweet green woody musk. Nicely non-gender specific. Nothing to dislike. I would like more projection. I am getting none. All of this line's scents could be stronger, given their price: $85 for 30ml. The company thinks a sample would be enough for a week! Not for most perfumistas I know. The 3 samples cost $15 but you can then deduct the $15 from a bottle -- but you only have a month. They really should give you a year, since I overspend on fragrance and plan far in advance for what I am going to buy once I have some spare cash.

It's difficult to find fresh, bright, clean fragrances that don't tip into laundry detergent or soap territory, and I really appreciate that Olmsted & Vaux has managed that feat. It's the smell of "outside" without being outdoorsy. It's vaguely citrusy, very green, and a bit sweet - some jasmine or other white floral combination, maybe - and really just smells like being in some well-manicured outdoor space with lots of trees and scrupulously-maintained lawns. It does manage to match its public park inspiration, reminding me of Central Park or even the National Mall. Smelling it during the pandemic makes me nostalgic for those public places where people picnic and play frisbee during the summer. I really like this one.

This is my favorite from my sample pack and a instant love. I love it when a fragrance gives you a epiphany like experience and I was teleported to a grove of pine trees and cool wind. For me personally, this is what I expected Green Irish tweed to be for me and Phlur you should be proud of yourselves.This is a truly remarkable fragrance and one of the few fragrances where I said , I have to have this. I get a mature feeling from this 25 plus and for someone for likes Terre de hermes ea tres fraiche and Bvlgari Man in Black EDP. I get a hour of good projection and 4 hours longevity, so i wish it lasted longer and projected better.

Well composed and safe, but its actually unique! This is obviously their "business man in his 30s" scent but they added a sweetness that steers it away from being cold, making it wearable on a confident woman as well. It's really strong though, and wouldn't recommend this for situations where you're close to people all day, you may offend them. The dry down of the musk is just okay, if not boring. I won't repurchase but I like it for what it is: a strong fresh green fragrance that avoided common masculine cliches without becoming "avant-garde" (I'm looking at you byredo) and actually lasts a long time. Nice job.

The notes breakdown is way off on this webpage. Here is what I found on Basenotes - Head: bergamot, lemon, mandarin, black pepper Heart: shiso leaf, white ginger, orange flower Base: maté tea, vetiver, amber, musk It is fresh and not offensive, but it is also not unique. It is a familiar scent that I thought I had smelled many times somewhere else before. I took advantage of a 50% discount on a 50ml bottle before it was discontinued due to Phlur's ownership changes.

This has a very green soapy smell. I wouldn't call it fresh, it is somewhat dank and musky. I also don't detect much citrus, any that's there disappears immediately, followed shortly by the rest of the scent. Though marketed as unisex, it's hard to imagine a woman pulling this one off. Given the poor performance, I don't see any reason to drop $100 on this, just go to the drug store and buy a bar of soap.

lime peel and green pepper with something warm at the bottom. Smells like fancy hotel lotion mixed with cleaning products, but in a good way? The citrus goes away and ginger comes out over time. Then the vetiver, sort of smoky and green. Ends up a musty, spicy, soapy cedar and sandalwood. It's like a kindly professor with an herb garden drinking a G&T. It's good but not great.

This has a nice refreshing scent. But there's something off putting about it. It's definitely unisex, not a feminine scent. There's a strong musk scent on my skin, that's overlayed by a pretty green floral. I think I'd like it more without the musk. I also think I would like this more on a man.

So pretty! Crunchy stems and grass and a creamy sweetness underneath that's transforms into a balsamic sweet in the dry down. It stays green and bright the whole wear time. Olmsted and Vaux (or Ornstein and Smough to the cultured) is a beautiful and organic smell. Springtime sunshine. Love it!

I like it, a nice easy earthy green freshy. Like with the other discontinued Phlur's I have tried, I feel like layering this with a vanilla under it helps take the edge off, so to speak, and also makes you smell like a Christmas tree which is usually my desired effect

Got a bottle on sale at Sephora. I would not purchase this at full price. The smell is good but nothing revolutionary. It just smells woody to me.

Captures the atmosphere of a well-manicured green space; definitely takes me to the Great Lawn at Central Park. It's green, woody, fresh, and squeaky clean. Like other Phlur perfumes I've tried, this one smells very synthetic to me. Personally, I like my fresh green perfumes to smell a bit more natural and grimy, but this smells great and if you're looking for something shower clean smelling then this is a good option. It's quite strong and lasting and completely unisex. Unfortunately it gives me a headache.

This one isn't for me, but that doesn't mean it's not for someone else. Olmstead & Vaux Is pretty green but on my skin it's more woodsy and sour. There is a cedar component, but it's overrun by other things. I thought the two note breakdown on here was odd and someone else posted the actual note list from basenotes: Top: bergamot, lemon, mandarin, black pepper Middle: shiso leaf, white ginger, orange flower Base: maté tea, vetiver, amber, musk I get the lemon and the pepper. Maybe even the shiso leaf. An unpleasant ginger. I get more lime than than orange flower or mandarin. Vetiver yes. I don't really get a tea note, or amber. Musk I am not sure. It does smell green, but this fragrance is more evocative of celery than freshly cut grass. It's pretty mature and very unisex. Like another reviewer said, it's reminiscent of the soap at a fancy hotel.

All I'm getting after a few minutes is a very specific brand of Axe Men's Body Spray (couldn't tell you which one, but it's the kind teenage kids wear when they're just learning about not smelling like sweat). Blame it on my skin chemistry, but this one was a scrubber. Somehow the base note reminds me of Juliette has a Gun's Not a Perfume, so maybe cetalox but with something real acrid on top. I just couldn't stick around for the dry down.

The scent is a beautiful floral but is gone in 3 hours has some staying power on clothes. Kind of smells like laundry though. I can already achieve that smell if i want. Could see myself buying a bottle though if it was cheaper I think of this was $40-50 instead of $90-100 it would be a win

I have to say Phlur would be placed on the top of the designers list on today’s market. Olmsted & Vaux is a very fresh green refreshing sweet scent. The company doesn't list notes but according to my nose this is what I get: It opens with bergamot and neroli which quickly get surrounded by white floral, almost a chamomile vibe, maybe some jasmine as well, blended with vetiver and vanilla which become more prominent in the mid and base; which also seems to be composed of cedar wood and vanilla. This scent is pretty impressive based on the level of ingredients it contains which seem to aim more towards synthetics in designers yet it still gives a pleasant scent and evokes the notions described on their site. At $85/50ml it’s priced a bit high however, it delivers a new approach and mystery. This scent won't last more then 4 hours on most skin types but it deserves to be re-applied. I would say this could be placed as a happy medium between Xerjoff Nio and Le Labo's Bergamot 22 as it borrows from each a bit. Very refreshing and modern progressive suited for any occasion. While performance could be a bit lacking, it deserves a sniff and for those on a budget it could be a great find. Scent/originality: 0-10: It’s a 7 as it’s reminiscent of a Xerjoff Nio & Le Labo Bergamot 22 blend somewhere in the middle of those two. Longevity: 0-10: it’s a 5; it hardly lasts through a trip at the grocery store but very pleasant and refreshing. Silage: 0-10: it’s a 3 as it hardly projects after the initial 30 minutes.
