Tangerine Boy

MEN OF THE WORLD–IF YOU WEAR THIS, BE PREPARED TO BE FLIRTED WITH. NOBODY WILL LEAVE YOU ALONE. I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T. This is a wonderful unisex scent, and does exactly what it advertises–it would work easily on men and women alike, or anyone really. As a woman, I would have a lot of fun wearing this sunny, cheerful, bold and delightfully juicy tangerine fragrance. It's a more overtly juicy and sweet version of Clinique Happy, another fragrance I love wearing–and much like it, I do feel my mood brighten when smelling this, let alone testing it. If I smelled this on a man, I'd go crazy, plain and simple. This is a scent that advertises fun, approachability, energy and ease–which in and of itself is very sexy. Tangerine Boy is inoffensive in both scent and performance. Along with its sweet but not cloying, fruity and herby notes–nicely toned down by grassy moss and gentle, sparkling green apple–it has good, moderate sillage, especially on clothes. It also doesn't overstay its welcome. The tester lasted about three hours on my skin. It helps that it's not just a fruit fragrance–I think that slight twist of ginger at the top gives it that sparkly unisex vibe and keeps it from being too flirty and sweet. I'm tempted to get this for myself. And when I snag a guy, I might get this for him too. An instant summer classic.

Blotter v skin and opening v dry down is night and day. I wonder if people comparing to the Atelier citrus scents above have tested on skin... I say this because in the opening, it's a pleasant somewhat generic sparkly musky tangerine. In fact, I was generously gifted this scent from Phlur and when I received it, because of this, I immediately dismissed it. I was with my mom who happens to love citrus scents and she was like ohh I'll take it then! So I gave it to her. She sprayed it and again, didn't think much. An hour later, I was wondering what that sexy musky cologne-esque smell was. AND LOL wouldn't you know, it was my own mother. I think it takes the drydown to really understand the name and inspo of this scent (the key art gives F-boy in Miami vibes). And you know what, in the dry down it did indeed make my 60-something year old mother smell like an F-boy. A really freudian dilemma amirite? Game-changing? No. Unparalleled? no. But easy-to-wear, sexy, musky, mossy, cool all under the guise of a fresh sparkling tangerine? def. Is this fragrance responsible for the Renaissance of my mom? tbd. Anyway, all this to say, I quite enjoy this and you owe it to yr damaged self (oh am I projecting?) to wait for the drydown.

This legitimately smells like tangerine juice! 🍊 I tried this several times because it's the only one that interests me from the house of Phlur. I'm a citrus lover and this is probably the best tangerine fragrance I've experienced. Admittedly, there's not a ton of tangerine centered frags out there. It smells sweet and a bit tart, and a little juvenile but I still like it. I also like that it sticks with citrus the whole time without morphing into something else (which is cool) although musk or vetiver would be have been a good base a good option. However, I think those notes I just mentioned are too mature for it's target audience. It accomplishes this full citrus experience with aromachems (natural citrus will not last that long), and because of that, it become more synthetic as time goes on. I considered buying it at full retail but it's a bit too young for me. However, I would grab this on discount to wear around the house. Scent 7.5/10 Performance 7/10

Photo realistic tangerine. Not orange - actual tangerine. Super energizing. As is typical with citrus perfumes, it fades after an hour. But- here's how I use it: Saltair makes the BEST smelling moisturizers, body oils, and mists (not a paid endorsement). The Exotic Pulp line layers very nicely with Tangerine Boy and I can smell like a fresh, photorealistic tangerine for at least 4 hours. It's my summer smell. Also layers super well with so many other perfumes. Commodity Milk (Creamsicle), Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere (great for fall), Byredo Young Rose (summer nights), 1969 Purple Haze (seductive), Killians LDBS (sexy Creamsicle). That's just what I've tried so far. I haven't even gone into the woods yet! I think Tangerine Boy is worth the money, as long as you moisturize and use a light oil.

I’m quite new to the world of perfumes, so this is hardly an expert opinion, but I love this scent! The fun, youthful, fruity citrus zing off of the opening gives way over time to a more mature warm and slightly sexy spice profile that is simultaneously alluring and comforting. Perhaps marmalade-esque? I find it to be a very good transitional perfume for someone like me (I’m 24) who no longer wants to use the same perfume she used when she was a teenager (Belle Chérie by Fragonard) but also isn’t quite ready to smell “like a grown-up.” It lasts quite a few hours on my skin/clothes and I appreciate the intimacy of the sillage. I currently only have the travel size as the price point is a turn off for me but I plan to purchase the full size once I use up what I have!

Orange Sanguine only lasted 30 minutes on me. This one lasts longer. If you are out and about, moving around, not on a AC environment, it last a longer as your body heats up. Spray this with happiness. 8 sprays (2 on clothes), and off I go, but before that, I use unscented moisturizer on the areas I am going to apply Tangerine Boy. I wait 5 minutes and spray this bad boy. It projects for the first 1.5 hours. Then, sets close to skin but projects as you move. If you work outdoors, or you don’t blast the AC, it projects longer. It last longer too. It’s delicious. It’s refreshing. As a citrus fragrance, doesn’t last long. I still love the scent. If you want a beast mode, get Orto Parisi Bergamask. Good luck with that chemical warfare.

Such a delicious and refreshing smelling perfume. Smells different in different climates. The initial blast is sweet and tart. I get mostly tangerine and ginger, then green apple and pepper, with some woodiness at the dry down. In the FL heat I get lots of tangerine and a green apple, with a kick of the pepper/ginger. The ginger and pepper make it great for cooler tropical temps like in the 60s. Layers well with vanillas when taking it into the Winter months. It reminds me a lot SDJ Agua Mística. That one has neroli and salt where’s Tangerine Boy has ginger and pepper. The pepper makes the scent come off more unisex. It’s sexy. Definitely one a man or woman could pull off. I love to layer it with Dolce Gabbanna’s Light Blue.

this is my current all time favorite perfume <3 smells exactly like peeling a fresh juicy tangerine. the pepper and ginger gives you that 'sting' you get when the zest/peel gets torn, it's so photorealistic! you get sweetness but not candy-like and the jasmin dry down is so pleasent. the sillage is a beast, highly complimented and people will smell you from across the room. unfortunately, like most citrus, i won't last more than 2h on me personally. i will wear this all year round, especially in winter! it reminds me of being at a snowy winter cottage getaway weekend with my friends and someone brings a crate of tangerines. i will down at least 5 in a sitting. really lifts my mood up. my bf really enjoys this one too.

I love how zesty this is, it's juicy & tangy without being overly sharp. I do find that there's a coolness to this fragrance that makes it feel a little more masculine, but overall it's very unisex. When I've sprayed this on my wrist, it's lasted me a good 3ish hours before it became really subtle and 5ish hours before it became virtually undetectable. But citrus notes are generally lighter and evaporate faster than other notes, so that tracks. The price point is great for a realistic, fresh, and tangy tangerine that doesn't smell like cleaning products or like every other "freshie" on the market, just keep in mind you'll need to reapply as it's a citrus-dominant fragrance.

The orangeyest orange I've ever oranged! 🍊 It is great but it is niche. It mixes best with milky & creamy scents and can be a bit like the pumice hand scrub called Orange Kleen, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! This really is the most photorealistic orange specific citrus scent I've ever encountered. It smells wonderful on my husband and believe it or not actually mixes well with powdery/woody notes and ocean/marine scents too. Some mixes resulted in strong metallic accords, I don't know which ingredients were the cause but hey, some people like that smell. 7.5/10 Quality citrus EDP that mixes well and actually lasts longer than an hour. Good job Phlur.

this goes through so many changes throughout wearing. It starts extremely bright and lemony, which turns into a sweeter tangerine scent after around 10 minutes. Then it moves towards something more masculine and classic cologne like with lots of mossiness, ending with a soft spicy citrus. I got the matching lotion which lacks any sort of citrus smell and mainly smells of weak black pepper and some woods. Thought the lotion would help with performance but it adds some weird notes instead. update: idk if it was the first few pumps of the lotion but it actually smells really similar to the fragrance now that ive worn it and helps performance a lot

I love this. Surprisingly masculine on the drydown. Top notes are 95% gone after the first 5 minutes, but the black pepper lingers. Amber, moss, jasmine, and black pepper pleasantly persist for several hours. There's a little apple in there that ties it all together. The citrus part of this is kinda weak but that's fine by me. I think the scent designer did a excellent job of avoiding the "citrus cleaning solution" effect by downplaying the lemon & tangerine. I think it would disappoint someone looking for a sweet scent like Apricot Privee, but Tangerine Boy gives more interest than its initial sweetness. Would buy a full size.

ive ALWAYS wanted to try this because the notes made it sound exactly like my dream scent but i was scared to because ive tried other phlur fragrances before and they always have this weird spicy scratchy smell (especially beach skin and peach skin) and tangerine boy has a black pepper top note so.... anyway i decided to order it recently and surprisingly i dont get any of that weird pepper smell!!! i just get juicy tangerines w some sweet apple that dry down to an ambery base tangerine 🍊 🤍 soooo good i wish i could go back in time and tell myself to buy it earlier

Tested out on my jacket sleeve but really doused myself in it (Like 6 sprays, I know!) This is a cleaner, sweeter version of the now discontinued Calypso Clementine from Bath & Body Works. But I must say, 24hrs later, I can still smell it faintly on my jacket so it's got staying power on fabric - if you're an oversprayer. But at that ridiculous price point, you're better off tracking down an aftermarket Calypso Clementine on one of the reseller platforms. Tocca Stella is also fairly similar but not nearly as intense on the citrus.

This is an intelligent and warm bright tangerine. It’s so very lively that the impact of first spray totally bypasses any harsh alcohol type initial impact. It also has a DNA that seems to give single note without feeling like a generic body spray ( like The Body Shop satsuma for example). I have not found this in any way complex. It is honest, clean and warm. The dry down settles in to softer notes but on me I found that tangerine remained the star. Beautiful lively positive simplicity. This will be someone’s signature....often

I just smelled this and I almost bought it on the spot as I adore citrus and tangerine and this is a stunning juicy tangerine, which is actually quite hard to find. It is peak summer and yes smells exactly like the bottle looks, bright orange. I wish there were more fragrances like this, just a single fruit or note would be great reminds me of Demeter. Its sweet and straightforward and some days you just want to smell like a tall glass of tangerine juice. I'm waiting for summer but i would spray this obnoxiously its delicious.

Smells like fresh and spicy orange extract, it's a very simple fragrance. Longevity is somewhat poor, and the bright orange note dies down quickly, but compared to other citrus perfumes it's average. It layers nicely with sweeter fragrances for a less sharp scent. I really enjoy how tangy it smells, and I'll definitely be wearing it this summer! Edit: This perfume is definitely a love! I still think the longevity and silage are very poor but it smells so good I still find myself reaching for it.

Beautifully juicy, and almost realistic tangerine scent. Perfect for summer/warm spring and for ANY outdoor occasion outside. Okay projection, and decent longevity. The spice takes it up a notch, and gives it that extra kick. After a while, it becomes a good skin scent with the amber. Love layering it with other orange scents to get more out of it. Orange Blossom from Jo Malone makes a really good combination. Also very unisex, I could see anybody wearing it. Just an all around easy scent.

When I want to smell like Orange Blossoms, I look to Jo Malone. When I want to smell like Orange Candy, it's Kimoji Peach (guilty pleasure). But when I want to smell like Orange *Juice*, I love Tangerine Boy. If you liked Sun from LUSH but found the 3min longevity annoying, this is the upgrade. The amber and ginger give a peel/zest note that I like. Even though the citrus is definitely synthetic, it LASTS - 6hrs+ on me. And that's all I want come spring + summer.

i’ve been so cynical whenever phlur releases a new perfume (which is like once a month i stg) and have had increasingly low expectations. i would never even have sprayed this on my skin except for the reviews on fragrantica telling me to and i’m happy i did. this was surprisingly linear and one note but i have no complaints bc this was a juicy realistic tangerine. sweet yet light. watery but substantive. very refreshing orange overall. will wear again

This was my summer perfume last year -- such a fun treat. Juicy, bright, messy tangerine that smells identical to the real fruit. It's mixed nicely with this lovely pithy ginger + black pepper that keeps it from getting too sweet or too cloying. Very unisex, with great staying power and projection through sweaty 30+ degree heat. Good daytime fragrance as it's very fresh-faced. Would be very happy wearing this again in a few months' time.

The punch of photo-realistic tangerine rind is my favorite part of this fragrance. It's zippy and invigorating right off the bat. It's not overtly sweet and a little spicy from the pepper note. I like that it leans androgynous and has a nice grounding dry down. the bright citrus does not last that long on my skin and I find myself reapplying it frequently for that reason. It's my go to summer perfume when I need a little extra energy.

Tangerine Boy is my favorite scent in my Discovery Set from Phlur. It's satisfying to smell what the scent says: Tangerine. Oh, what a lovely, yummy Tangerine it is. This one is a perfect wake-up morning fragrance. Let the smell mingle with your morning coffee, and you are ready to start the day. However, this is not an abrupt splash of cold water type of scent. It remains soft while being juicy. Perfect for spring and summer.

This truly smells like opening a tangerine. The tangerine scent lasts for a couple hours and then dries into a more spicy musky scent. I wish it lasted longer but since it smells so yummy and natural, i enjoy reapplying it. It's not overly strong, just leaves a small pleasant scent cloud around you. Love this fragrance, it could work all year round and probably would be lovely layered with a more sweet gourmand in winter.

I love this scent. It's gorgeous and juicy and lush and it's made for wardrobing - either with one of Phlur's body sprays or with another scent. Its sillage is measured enough you can get touches of it throughout the day but it's also somewhat like a private secret you keep to yourself. I bought this in a travel size on a whim and then purchased the full size because I liked it so much. Excellent longevity as well.

This is fun. Totally unisex. Juicy and zingy. Reminds me of Atelier Cologne Mandarine Glaciale. Also reminds me of a lot of 90’s peppery citrus fragrances for young men (in the best fun way). I could be walking into an Abercrombie store circa 97 in the summer. This is energetic, bright, confident, and playful. Easy reach. Edit: orange tic-tacs is also accurate, if they were in a glass of super fizzy orange drink

I grew up with tangerine trees and this smells like a ripe, juicy tangerine with a hint of ginger and amber. I do understand why people say it has orange soda vibes, I definitely get that as it dries down. Man, this is delicious. My husband really liked it as well. It’s perfect for a hot summer day. MichelleAA recommended layering with Commodity Milk for a creamsicle vibe, which I will most definitely try.

just scrambled to buy 2 backup bottles because i found out this was discontinued. this was the most realistic juicy tangerine with the perfect amount of zest and spice from the ginger ☹️ i could drink this up during the heatwaves we've been having lately!! if you want to get a bottle i found mine at a local kohls sephora, theyre not available on the phlur site anymore

My current favorite perfume since I got it at the beginning of this year. My mom told me I needed a new fragrance to help me move on, and this one is perfect. The tangerine scent literally smells edible, and it's a perfect citrus scent with lovely peppery notes that linger after the tangerine smell inevitably fades. I like it for day and night personally

This is my favorite scent I've picked up this year. The tangerine is photorealistic, and the spice underneath is incredible! If I could smell like this always I would. UNFORTUNATELY, as it has been echoed by other reviewers here, this lasts maybe an hour (IF that.) I hope they find a way to reformulate this so it lasts even another hour.

That first burst of Tangerine really is so realistic and beautiful. I knew immediately I had to add this to my collection. It wears more masculine leaning as time goes on which is where the name shines from Tangerine to boy and has a cologne type of spice. I quite enjoy the change on me as an overall unisex scent great for daytime.

This fragrance is great and as a citrus lover I’m very happy with it. It reminds me of if Goldfield & Banks did a mandarin orange version of “Bohemian Lime”. It’s a fresh, sweet and uplifting fragrance. I just wish they would make 100ml size bottles instead of only 50ml for a $100. Either way it’s a 9.5/10 for me.

if you want to embody all things tangerine - fresh, wet, slightly zesty, this is your scent. jerome epinette never disappoints - if you like this, i highly recommend his other work across scent families. so far, all bangers. so sad phlur discontinued this - it was the only scent of theirs i actually liked.

It’s good... it’s really good, but it’s not great. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect “orange” scent. Its projection and longevity are one if not the only downside to it being a 10/10. Overall im pleased a coworker acquired this at a fairly large discount at Sephora with that being said 7.8/10

This smells like actual freshly squeezed orange juice. It's SO bright and sparkly. I'm sure the pepper and ginger are there, but...it's pretty photorealistic orange juice. This is also GORGEOUS for layering as well. I've tried a good few of the Kayalis on top and they're all lovely together.

A lovely realistic burst of tangerine juice. I instantly feel uplifted when I put this on. I can see it being unisex but I think it’s sweeter and fits me better than it would my husband. I wish it lasted longer but I only got two hours out of it before it was completely gone.

smells like a glass of carbonated orange juice with a few slices of ginger on the side, definitely a mood uplifter. i feel like i can wear this all year round because of how bright it is. it got pretty good longevity too, i can still smell it on my skin after 4 hours

I put this in my aromatherapy humidifier to perfume the room. It’s bright, has a little sexiness to it, and makes you feel more awake. I like it, but not to wear. It would smell good on someone else though. On me, it pulls like a bag of tangerines with no depth.

I bought this perfume because it unlocked a childhood memory. It smells exactly like that orange juice powder called “Tang” . I would open a new container of juice powder and it smells exactly like this ! It’s so fruity and lasts surprisingly long.

Just tried this. The first whiff is a surprisingly realistic tangerine, like cuties. It sort of settles a bit later into more of an orange candy scent which I'm not the biggest fan of, but I think thats just a me problem.

Love this fruity, playful fragrance. Only downside is that the amber clashes with the tangerine a bit in the dry down, but that passes. I wish it lasted longer on my skin though, as it’s gone after about 2 hours.

sticky and hyperreal, like an orange crush flavored lip smacker, or the center of one of those orange slice candies from a gas station. actually mouthwatering. the juice that's juicier than juice!

Citrus on Citrus. I like it. It does have a hint of spice and other fruity sweetness that sits in the background. This is well made. Bright and uplifting. Just want to smell it over and over.

Realistic tangerine scent, smells like if someone was peeling tangerines next to you, beautiful, sweet delicious. Only downside is longevity, Wish it lasted longer.
