Vanilla Canyon

I am enjoying this one. Smelling the vanilla, oak, and plum. If you like Kayali Vanilla 28 and The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods, you will love this one. Need this in a hair mist as well. ♥ Man or woman can wear this. Marking *August 11th* on my calendar.

does not smell like vanilla 28 at all to me. this is much deeper and has more of that patchouli base to it. vanilla 28 is a much sweeter vanilla in comparison to this. you can really smell the plum in the opening and almost a musky synthetic vanilla with vanilla canyon (not in a bad way). if anything it is reminiscent of unmute by noise, or vanille antique from byredo 100%.

I can smell hints of Phlur’s Afterglow in Vanilla Canyon’s bevy of notes. It’s as if they took the light airiness of Afterglow and layered it with heady notes of patchouli and vanilla. I love Afterglow but find it’s sadly fleeting on my skin. I’d find it exciting if Phlur were to increase Afterglow’s longevity and sillage, but a patchouli/vanilla mix doesn’t work for me. While only testing the fragrance on paper, I’m hesitant to try it on my skin. I like vanilla and patchouli in light doses, but rarely, if ever, together in one perfume. I’m almost certain this fragrance would become overwhelming to my nose if I couldn’t actually walk away from it. Interestingly, I’d forgotten about the test paper from the previous night. I’d left it in the bathroom, and when I entered the next day, I thought my son must have sprayed his own fragrance before work. So, it’s definitely unisex.

I just got my sample in the mail and have been wearing it on my day off. I work in healthcare and would rename this “Vanilla Hospital”. It’s quite medicinal and is giving anesthesia vibes. If you love those patchouli and balsamic notes, then this is for you. Fair warning: If you can smell Carmex medicated lip balm in Vanilla 28, imagine that but even stronger. Some people love those notes and others don’t. I would say it’s one of Phlur’s most unisex fragrances. Especially with the oak. The longevity has been decent.

KAYALI Vanilla 28 DUPE, but deeper/woodier in its base. For its price, its ok. But try something more original next time?
