Vanilla Skin

After seeing the notes and reading online descriptions, I wasn’t expecting to like this. So instead, I bought it as a surprise gift for someone who WOULD. Whilst wrapping it, I got curious about the irl smell... ended up loving and keeping it 🫣. Might buy the bigger 50ml bottle (but £99?!?!). Now, let’s get into the Bare Vanilla Sueded comparisons. They smell the same i.e. creamy comforting, sweet essential oil/oud, sharp minty type-vanillas. You definitely DONT need both. However, there are some subtle differences to consider e.g. the initial alcohol in BSV is more apparent so takes longer to go, BSV starts mintier/fresher/greener yet finishes warmer than VS, BSV is more complex - it takes you on a journey that improves as time goes on while VS stays the same, BSV is screechier, BSV is more potent and has better longevity whilst VS fades away into skin. Ultimately, I definitely prefer the opening of VS and the settled smell of BSV (by FAR). With the price point, I’d say BSV is more worth it. Lastly, in my opinion, Vanilla Skin definitely can’t be compared to the OG Bare Vanilla mist because it’s (VS) tons better and more interesting.

Bare vanilla from Victorias Secret on steroids. This surprised me. The longevity goes crazy and it lasts an insane amount of time. Was not expecting that at all. This is my first phlur fragrance. It’s a sugary vanilla, but like bare vanilla, it has something woody and cashmeran about it. Some might even say “spicy” but it’s not that aromatic to me. It’s not 100% gourmand creamy lactonic vanilla. Think sugary but still with depth and another layer. Not too woody either. VERY sexy, like clean soft glowing skin that smoothed vanilla body butter on it. Compliment getter. The more it warms up on your body the better it gets. Leaves the most intoxicating scent trail and I say that from spraying it on for the day, leaving my house and then coming back to my room like OOF!! Girl you know you smelled good TAHDAY!! 🤣 This fragrance is a great “topper” for other scent combos, OR as just a plain ol uncomplicated fragrance to wear on top of the Josie Maran vanilla bean body butter and you’re just 🤌🏾 chefs kiss with simply that. Easy to reach for perfume on its own or layered

I really like this! Whenever I smelled this out of the cap I always recoiled because it smelled like spoiled milk. But I got this is a sample set and once it's sprayed on skin, it's amazing. "Vanilla skin" is the perfect name for this, because it doesn't smell like a perfume, it smells like your skin is just naturally sweet and delicious with a subtle hint of vanilla. It's quite simple. I don't get a lot of pink pepper, just the tiniest hint of skin-like spice. Then it becomes a little woody and creamy, and later on the vanilla comes out and it gets sweeter over time as my body heat warms up the scent. I wouldn't call it smoky per se, but there is something warm and toasty about this vanilla that does remind me of by the fireplace. It also has a bit of a honeycomb vibe to it as it gets sweeter. Overall, this perfume has a lovely comforting aura. It's simple but it works. And while it is soft, I can smell it projecting from my skin for hours. It's actually quite impressive. If you're a vanilla lover, this is something you have to try.

my enrique iglesias hero baby. i tried vanilla skin during a frenzied search for a vanilla perfume that didn’t make me feel like i was either back in high school or a badly shaped human birthday cake, in a period where i was too broke to replace my 30ml vanilla 28 bottle (this period is commonly known as my life) i was pleasantly surprised by how rich, woody and non-sugary sweet this smells (for those of you who prefer a more dulce vanilla fret not — the body mist is a slightly lighter take on the same scent profile). to be exceedingly clear: forget what perfumetok may tell you, this is NOT a kayali replacement. they are very different interpretations of vanilla. booze vs woody. sultry vs silky smooth. you get it. long story short, instead of solving the one problem i have now in usual fashion created another for myself (i need to have both 28 and VS in my usual rotation or else i’ll die, source: science)

Omg...this is sooooo good! "Hufflepuff" just got put up til winter..."Vanilla Skin" is gonna be my daily for the spring/summer/fall!!! Picked up the Extrait version and it slaps!! Perfectly strong and noticeable in my trail. Wearing it today with 4 sprays of "M.A. - Galatea" and it's just perfect! My boss swung by my office to catch up after getting back from vacation. Convo started out with 5 feet between us...then 3...then 2...I know it was the fragrance, had to be. That doesn't just happen by chance... Phlur - Vanilla Skin is just smooth woody-vanilla beautiful luxury. I'll know later how long it actually lasts and performs, but right now 4 hours into the wear...this is perfection. Just loud enough to leave a nice seductive trail and lure others in closer for a sniff. This could become my signature layering scent. Just gotta get more of it....

Update >>>> Okay hear me out, I said what I said below and i stand by it, but the way I’ve worn this to bed every night since I got it and keep layering it with things and basically thinking “this would be better with vanilla skin” is kinda demented lol. Clearly I love it and it’s way better than I said !!!! Old news <<< It’s okay I expected more, the notes are muddled together and it’s not easy to pick them apart. It’s very similar to bare suede vanilla by Victoria Secrets, maybe the dry down of this is richer, sweeter less safonic. The jasmine in this makes me go nose blind at some point in the middle and I can’t smell it again on myself but can on clothes. If I had my time over and had got a decant, instead of being the greedy little collector I’m becoming I would not buy it again. If you own bare suede then this is redundant!

As someone who wears Baccarat Rouge daily, I was curious to see how Vanilla Skin would compare — and I love it. This fragrance is exactly what the name promises: a sweet, cozy vanilla that lingers beautifully on the skin. It’s undeniably strong and can feel overbearing if you’re sensitive to sweetness, but for me that’s a plus — I adore perfumes that hang in the air and leave a trail. There’s a powdery quality here (similar to Baccarat, though simpler and less complex), which softens the sweetness and makes it feel comforting rather than cloying. It really does mimic Baccarat in spirit, but with a stripped-down, straightforward focus on vanilla. For the price point, it feels reasonable and well-made, though I wouldn’t spend Baccarat money on it. Overall, a sweet, powdery, and addictive vanilla — exactly what I was hoping for.

Okay, as someone who has skin chemistry that warms up spicy and gourmand scents very quickly, this perfume didn’t do that on my skin . It remained balanced, still smelling very much like vanilla and dried down to a floral/warm amber skin scent, as promised. I purchased the 7ML sample of this; keeping in mind that fragrance articles online featured it as a “grown woman’s vanilla” which is a selling point for me. I purchased this with expectations that I wouldn’t smell like a sweet pastry but more like a creamy, moisturized and milky scented grown woman who takes care of herself and it absolutely delivered. It isn’t my signature scent (I don’t think anything with strong vanilla scents will ever be for me) but, this fragrance has earned shelf space for my cozy, evening scents, for the cooler seasons 🤍

At first spritz, the dry down is rather woody and dark, in similar proximity to MM by the fireplace. Much more unisex leaning as opposed to the manly compulsive smoker MM by the fireplace. Initially wasn't drawn to it, however when the dry down occurs... the magic happens! The scent is rather seductive and alluring more than the name gives it credit. What the general mass claims is a clean girl only scent is a rather stark difference then what I feel... the scent to me is sexy yet not a cloying way like boring designer fragrances like ysl,valentino, prada,etc. Smells like a sweet vanilla spicy woody concoction that smells a bit like carmex ( which isn't bad if you don't mind smelling like soft kisses). Not a bad scent if you give it a chance...

Wow best vanilla perfume I have ever smelled. It’s not overly sweet while still being very much a pure vanilla. It has a woodiness and a spiciness the just faintly breaks up the sweetness of the sugar and vanilla. It smells, warm, sweet, cosy, feminine, slightly spicy (but not in a masculine way). It’s a vanilla for adults. It does last quite well on the skin, it projects maybe arms distance so is still suitable for work, spray a bit more and it can also be a great night out fragrance. Compared to the body spray it’s definitely more spicy and the scent is more multi layered. The body spray is really just sweet vanilla and maybe some wood, I don’t detect spiciness in the spray at all. Personally I love and use both.

New fav vanilla! On me, this is a more intensified and deep version of the body spray. I don’t get any pink pepper or apple, just vanilla, sugar, and woody notes. Has INCREDIBLE sillage and lasts all day. Every move I make, I get the most beautiful whiffs of deep vanilla. In terms of perfumes listed as similar— ❌ Billie’s Eilish: nowhere near as deep, quite grassy on me ❌ Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Milk: lighter and creamier, but also sour ❌ Kayali Vanilla 28: much sharper, has distinct florals on me ❌ SDJ ‘59: much lighter and has more noticeable florals ❌ Snif Vanilla Vice: much smokier ❌ The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods: a fruity vanilla ❌ Xerjoff Lira: more complex, cookie-like

You know the expression "to chase after a trail"? This was literally me this weekend when I hade a jogging this Saturday sunny Los Angeles morning. I sniffed beautiful fluffy vanilla and I followed it 1 block, till I spotted 2 ladies stopped at the traffic light. I also stopped and sniffed if it's their trail- and YES! it was their. I asked them what perfume is it and they kindly let me know it phlur vanilla skin. That same day I got it from sephora + deodorant. I love vanilla perfumes a lot and I have beautiful vanilla family members in my collection - but this one is very unique and beautiful. I don;t get any other notes listed, just nice pretty vanilla. Just a dream!!!!

I have this in both the body mist and the fragrance. This is by far the best vanilla scent I have ever come across. Its not overly sweet, its woodsier, earthier. It is very strong, so a little goes a long way. I always get so many compliment when I wear this. Like SOOOO many and people literally stop me on the street to ask what I'm wearing. It is cozy, elegant, and warm, like a cashmere sweater on a cold day. This has become my signature scent and the one I reach for most often. I also went through MANY vanilla lotions to find one close to this for layering and the closest Ive found is VS Bare Vanilla.

I love vanilla scents and have quite a few in my collection. My ride or die has always been Vanilla 28 but recently I find myself reaching for this more and more. It’s more honeyed (probably because of the few floral notes) and has a distinct caramel note to my nose. It’s less boozy than Vanilla 28 and although it’s still got that delicious sweet vanilla accord, it’s a little darker, a little sexier. Less grandma baking cookies and more sharing a sweet dessert with a lover... It has great staying power and will last 12+ hours on me. A little goes a long way. Very, very good.

this has surprised me a lot. i bought a sample of this without checking the notes, expecting it to be just a vanilla with a little bit of musk. it is so much more than that! the spiciness is lovely - i get a lot more pink pepper than i expected. its sexy, its grown up, but still girly and pretty. i will definitely be wearing this more EDIT: it’s been about a week since i bought this and i really really love it. its been my go to lately. it reminds me so much of eau duelle by diptyque but its so much more affordable and has better projection and lasting power.

So perfect it has a good side of ‘spice/smokiness’ (not heavy) which makes it more unique of a vanilla perfume. It’s a little bit mature smelling and not like a 14 year old girl would choose it. Like someone below me said, it’s less of ‘grandmas cookies’ and more date night. It’s fit for everyday wear, but I think you could say it’s expensive smelling enough for certain occasions as well. Darker, spicier, and alluring while still being a gourmand vanilla rather than a bakery treat. Idk if i go nose blind though or if the longevity is bad

This is my signature scent. Super easy to wear. Beautiful fragrance. It’s a thick vanilla, that opens with a strong sugary pepper, the longer it’s on your skin the sweeter it gets. It settles to a warm, very woodsy, sugary vanilla. It’s the perfect fragrance to layer with most things in my collection. I own both the body mist and the edp and wish to never be without either, however I think if you own one you don’t need both, as the body mist has great longevity and they smell near identical.

think of a small, cozy cafe hidden in the middle of the hamptons or in stowe, vermont. this is a pure vanilla that smells expensive in all the right places. whenever i go to sleep wearing this perfume, i can still smell it on me the next morning. if there is a perfume that i believe any vanilla/gourmand lover should absolutely buy, it’s this one right here. for an extra tip—layer it with bare vanilla, wicked vanilla woods, eilish, or vanille rouge. that combo right there? pure ecstasy.

To my nose, this is one of the best vanilla fragrances out there, of the new generation scents. I guess it's because of the pink pepper which I generally adore in perfumery. This is sweet, fluffy, cosy, warm and sexy, and sensual, and it makes me want to smell my big scarf all the time. This is not like Bianco Latte or Kayali, or Tom Ford's vanillas, it is not cheap smelling, either. It is extremely pleasant and it's not sickly or synthetic at all. I'm so glad I found it. My new love!

My perfect vanilla!! Reminds me almost exactly of an aromatherapy rollerball I had when I was younger... it's a comforting scent, like drinking a vanilla soy latte in the winter time. The woody/spicy notes are subtle - I don't notice them but I know they're there. Feels more complex than a simple vanilla, like a cookie recipe with a bunch of ingredients that you don't notice in the end. Have been wearing nonstop since I got her this week. Such an easy reach!

I am stunned at just how good this is. The sweetness is subdued enough where it's not too overwhelming. This can appeal to someone even if they don't like gourmands and overall Vanilla Skin is just incredibly likable. I definitely see how in some ways it's similar to By The Fireplace by Replica, but this is much more feminine. So many viral fragrances have resulted in disappointments, but this baby lasts long and smells incredible. Completely worth the hype.

I am late to the party on this one- I never even smelled it because I couldn’t imagine the notes would be harmonious, plus, I don’t enjoy Oud. I just tried it randomly in Sephora and I’ve been in love ever since! It is such a beautiful, sweet scent with a unique twist. My nose loves the apple (a red one) and the violet- those just set it off for me! This isn’t a super complex fragrance, but it is a great everyday vanilla. I absolutely love it though!!

I’m not toooo much of a vanilla girly. A lot of them smell too spicy or too sweet for me but this is so good! It’s one of my favorite fragrances and I will repurchase! For me, it’s worth every penny. It’s so warm and inviting. The vanilla is so warm and delightful. Also lasts on my clothes for hours! I even fell asleep and woke up in the morning after wearing all day and could still smell it! If you’re a warm vanilla girly, this is for you! 10/10

This is a deep, woody, yet sugary vanilla The agarwood comes off as sweet and smokey but is uplifted with this pink-pepper and cashmere note. In the middle of the dry down, it gets cozier and warmer, the cashmere adding this "knit sweater" texture that evokes comfort and familiarity. The vanilla in this is syrupy and dark but in a soft demeanor with the benzoin adding a sweet balsamic aroma. This is one of my favorite vanillas that I own.

This is such a good scent and the price tag is great too. Smells like a highly priced niche fragrance. Reminds me of Lune Feline a bit or Commodity Gold with a spicy, smokey vanilla that is not overly sweet. Easy reach in colder months, lasts a good amount as well. Well blended, but also quite linear which I like. Simple, sophisticated, warm. There is the same base in this as in Missing Person which I love. Wears closer to skin.

This is my #1. I love vanilla gourmands and anything sweet and sugary but not sickly. This is that but mature and developed, slightly woody, sexy, smokey, and musky too, even though thats not a note... The pink pepper in this is gorgeous and cuts that sugar just right. Don't smell much apple tbh. Great your-skin-but-better for vanilla lovers. Love love luvvvv seriously I get complements every time I wear this.

bought this the same day as i tested it, went back to the shop because it lasted so nicely on my wrist and dried down (on me) to smoky, slightly sweet, and a little musky and spicy. it's vanilla vanilla vanilla, i loved it. BF said i smelt like cake and also like his grandma's house, so if you want to be all sexy with this fragrance, make sure your partner's grandma doesn't use a lot of vanilla extract i guess

This is wildly sexy. The woods and the pepper mixed with a completely non-gourmand vanilla give this the feeling of well, sex. It's skin-like in that it's woody and slightly spicy. But it's got sweetness without being sugary or cloying. It conjures images of putting on your favorite vanilla fragrance, getting between the sheets, and having your skin chemistry mix with that perfume. I am obsessed.

Reminds me of By the Fireplace but much less smoky and with more vanilla of course. Its very lovely and opens a bit spicy because of the pink pepper but the dry down is a comforting sweet vanilla. Definitely a more intimate scent bubble with the projection not being the greatest. Overall though, its an easy everyday reach because of its simplicity and perfect for the colder months.

A simple, straightforward, sweet and cozy vanilla essence scent. It’s a touch woody in the dry down, super comforting like your favourite jumper. Projection is reasonable, but longevity isn’t, although I get that it’s supposed to be more of a skin scent. I would still consider purchasing a full bottle, it’s so delicate, pretty, and delicious, and makes for an excellent easy reach.

I take back my previous review. I tried this again and I am now obsessed with it? At first spray I thought it was a sugar bomb and while it is sweet there is some really interesting depth and complexity with the woody and incense notes as it warms up on the skin. I’m not a huge fan of the burnt sugar in the opening but that mellows out pretty quickly. Consider me converted.

literally vanilla SKIN. to me, it's like... the smell of your body heat under the covers when you lift up the blanket, except sweetened? just such a natural scent. if i noticed this on someone up close, i would think they smell sweet/woody naturally. the drydown either doesn't change at ALL for me or is just so subtle i don't notice it. anyways i adore it. love love love.

Among the vast sea of vanilla fragrances, this one stands out in its simplicity. It's vanilla and pencil shaving drydown, which I adore. It feels unisex, sophisticated, and cocooning, and not at all like many vanilla fragrances that can smell like a teenager. This is warm, elevated, cozy, and feels like a hug in a bottle. This is what I'd want my therapist to smell like.

VANILLA F****** PERFECTION After shower layer body oil, body mist, And perfume. A vanilla scent that shines in conjunction with skin. When you just want vanilla, this is it, it's as unpretentious as it is incredibly delicious. A lightweight gourmond anyone will love. Simple, mature, light/moderate sweetness, with no detection of synthetic vibes or any cheap feels.

I wish I could drink this perfume! It smells very sweet and a little smoky, and my friend said I smell like a cookie. I usually hate vanillas and gourmands, so I was pleasantly surprised when I fell in love with this one. Sometimes my sister sneaks into my room so she can spray it on herself. The only downside is its longevity - it fades rather quickly on me.

I tried this in store the other day, I couldn't stop thinking about it. So today I bought the travel size. I really love this vanilla, gives bianco latte vibes but not cloying - perfect for summer! What a great discovery. I am surprised as it also has oud in it - a note I tend to stay away from but this makes this scent longer lasting, and not sickly sweet.

I almost didn't buy this one because I already had the body spray, but I am so glad that I did. It is deeper and a little more complex. It isn't revolutionary between the two, but it is worth it to have the higher perfume oil content. This is such a versatile fragrance. I get compliments on it all of the time. It is also great for layering.

nothing special as mentioned by others, but i still love it -- just because i'm a big vanilla fan lol if you like anything vanilla from literally any other brand or billie eilish's no. 1 you'll enjoy this (and i'd honestly recommend those more over this) it's inoffensive and does dry down a bit ambery and musky because of the benzoin

it’s a natural, warm and approachable vanilla and not much else. sweet but not cloying. i wish i got more of the notes listed (not really getting the smokiness others mention) but it’s also lovely for what it is. finally a phlur frag with some lasting power! this was still sitting in my skin the next day and lasts forever on clothes

It smells just like Vanilla Bourbon by Mixbar when you first spray it and the dry down smells more like Bare Vanilla by VS. Overall, it's almost like a waaaay lighter version of By The Fireplace since it doesn't have the super toasty campfire vibe. It's a really nice woody vanilla. It goes great with sweet/creamy vanilla lotions.

This reminds me so much of Bath and Bodyworks Bonfire Bash, which is one of my favourite BBW scents. It smells like vanilla with a hint of a bonfire in the back, sticks around pretty well on my skin for several hours, and isn't so strong that I think it would be offensive to someone standing near me.

I LOVE vanilla skin it’s so beautiful it’s a sweet woody and ambery vanilla scent however the longevity and projection isn’t that good which sucks I have gotten about 4 hrs while wearing this scent with somewhat good projection that wasn’t bad this is a great unisex vanilla scent I absolutely love it

I was looking for a vanilla scent that was initially vanilla but not too sweet or gourmand, and this is perfect for me. While it is sweet, it is also a bit powdery and woody and soft and strong at the same time. I'm obsessed with this scent and it has become a staple in my fragrance rotation.

Favorite perfume of all time. This is an elevated/better bonfire bash. It's not groundbreaking but holy crap it's so good!! Super sweet, a pinch spicy, and woody. This lasts all day on me, the body mist actually does too. If you love woody vanilla scents do not skip this one, it's amazing.💕

If Burberry Goddess and Sol De Janeiro Cheirosa 59 had a baby this would be it. Absolutely lovely, a simple treasure, not complex or hard to get, yet it still smells refined. Performs beautifully -- your skin but way better. I absolutely love it on it's own or as a layering scent.

Unfortunately for my wallet this is worth the hype. It’s not too gourmand which I’m very here for and is rather a spicy, woodsy, grown-ass woman vanilla. It’s not linear which I often get from vanilla perfumes and has great blending and depth. Definitely considering for winter.

Wow, just wow. I had tried this fragrance a couple of times at Sephora, but the first real spray was a total wow moment. The quality is outstanding smooth, comforting, and beautifully balanced between sweet vanilla, sugar, cashmere, a touch of sandalwood and oud. Love it !

peppery and cozy vanilla scent. great for fall and winter rainy days but i also love to wear this one out. the sweet vanilla combined with the slight smokiness makes it great for a bar/restaurant. got stopped by a woman on the train once asking what i was wearing lol

As a Vanilla girl. This is the perfect layering perfume. I can layer this with so many others I own, or wear it on its own. I like how its not overpowering. The name describes it perfectly. I hope to be able to repurchase this if they sell it in the EU in the future.

This is one of my favorite signature scents during colder months! Definitely a warm, cozy, woodsy vanilla scent ( I pick up no floral/fruity notes whatsoever). Amazing and long lasting, can project a lot if you spray a little more than average.
