Coronation of Sesostris

The myrrh and the immortelle are a genius pairing, dusty, earthy, slightly sweetish. Absolutely love this one. Looking at the notes, I’m baffled as to how the most realistic smell of great quality port wine takes up the opening? It doesn’t last long and then the rest is this dusty, earthy, slightly herbal thing that lasts all day. Great stuff.

The opening for this scent is quite harsh but it’s all worth enduring for the beautiful immortal and tobacco dry down.

This guy really took me back to my not-so-cloudless but in its own way happy childhood – that's how it smelled in the drawer of the sideboard where my grandfather's things were kept – he was the deputy chief engineer and chief designer of one of the Ural factories (now successfully wiped out after all the iterations of raiding and effective looting, oh, I mean management a la russe , excuse me) – empty packs of Bulgarian Rodopi cigarettes, tins of Indian instant coffee (a terrible shortage – forbidden to touch – because my grandfather couldn't work without coffee and cigarettes), a camera in a leather case, a drafting set with compasses, drawing paper and cardboard, and a bunch of other things related to design and drafting that put little me in a state of reverent contemplation. This isn't perfume, it's a time machine and a teleport; everything has its price, but for me personally, the opportunity to become little again at my own will and remember my long-gone loved ones is priceless.
