The Good Shepherd

I sampled this without access to the notes list though I did recall that there was a wool note, which I got. Mostly what I smelled was a sort of herbal lemoniness with wool that kind of segued into something almost minty. It got me thinking of a character in one of my favorite books who’s a healer who lives in a yurt in a commune and has a spell called “set you right spell” which give a thorough spirit cleanse. I imagine the spell smelling something like this. I kept thinking of lemon balm too though that wasn’t quite it. I’m guessing it’s the reseda since I have no idea what that smells. Under the fresh herbal warmth there was this fantastic dirt, leather, sweat and funk smell that had me thinking of well worn, dusty, old sandals. This was a fun perfume to try. Probably not something I’ll be wearing a lot of but I’d try it again, if only for that gorgeous dry down.

I think rschmidt65 described this really well. It's a beautiful scent, really woody but I also pick up the other notes such as the musk or patchouli. Even tough I really like the art on the bottle, it's not full bottle worthy for me. I rate this a 6.5/10

fresh patchouli bouquet is the first thing i smell. but the general impression this gives me is a slow hike up a mountain on a warm spring day. the air feels balmy and pure, and i’m a little bit sweaty so if i adjust the leather straps of my gathering basket i get a whiff of them as i amble towards another plant i want to forage. the smell of a contemplative and spiritual walk.
