Kopi Luwak

Kopi Luwak is a almost gourmand "escape". It opens with a bold, invigorating coffee note that's smooth and creamy but strong, like the first sip of espresso. As the scent develops, an animalic note emerges, adding a touch of mystery and allure. The perfumer has clearly thought thru the composition. The civet note yes its def there, with its musky and slightly earthy aroma, its both intriguing and seductive and not over powering. Regardless this is developing into a more "advanced" fragrance. In the heart the tonka bean brings warmth and collects together with the other spiced top notes... then heliotrope adds a delicate floral touch. As it settles the base notes of a darker form of vanilla, oud, and darker patchouli come up. The vanilla is rich and creamy, while the oud adds a smoky and resinous depth. The patchouli is grounding with its earthy and woody aroma. Together, this perfume creates a lingering trail that's both sensual and captivating. Kopi Luwak is intense and advanced but absolutely beautiful, lasting on my skin a good 12 hours.

a little masculine for my tastes but wow the musk is heady and the coffee is present and reveals itself to you.. floral as in the damp warmth of a humid tropical forest. STRONG, strong fragrance and not for the weak of heart (not for me!) but goodness. addictive, narcotic, i kept going back to it. animalic, of course, what were you expecting? but as someone who has never smelt authentic kopi luwak i am easy to woo with coffee, this is coffee, indolic and unprocessed, coffee bean rather than from a cup. i like a musk, and this provides. the cat-smells are present (how do cats manage to always smell so pleasant?) and this is dark, heavy, sometimes ammoniacal, earthy, woody, yet it lets some light through, the canopy of this forest is not totalising. so much depth, so much to explore, such a complex and narrative and evocative fragrance. sweet, i'd like to try some real kopi luwak now please :)

I have not had the opportunity to experience the actual Kopi Luwak coffee. So, I do not have a baseline. What I can tell you is that DL works magic. Each fragrance from Pictura Fragrans seems to be designed towards providing an experience. And it is an experience you will get. Some can be challenging in certain areas. The performance and projection for most are off the charts. They will sit on a test strip for over 24hrs and project for some time. This is something quite enjoyable. As mentioned above, it may be hard for some in smaller spaces. For me, this is something I can just look silly with sniffing my arm all day. You get the coffee and maple almost immediately. Well, at least that is what I get. Then the magic happens later. The journey to a new facet of life followed by a comforting drydown. My favorite from the few I have tried.

This one is very sensual. The top notes immediately create sexual imagery as creamy rich flavors come forward. It’s illustriously dark with espresso spilling out over a woodsy bark. It also has a sweetness to it. I might compare it to having a date at a café in Seattle – anticipating more to come after the coffee part of the date ends and we head to a private flat. The heart notes are musky yet sweet. Overall, it creates a mysterious forest for the senses to live in and lasts for a full twenty-four hours.

Did krakenii even smell this fragrance? After applying it to the skin, you get this beautiful scent that smells like you have syrup all over your hands while a mug of warm coffee. The Civet is 100% present in this fragrance but is not as strong, leaving room for the other notes to flourish and providing a nice undertone. Overall, this fragrance is one of one and is probably my favorite Coffee scent I have ever put my nose on. Cheers to the perfumer. 9/10

Superb, balanced, profoundly comforting, and evocative of cherished memories from this part of the world; coffee as served on the Singapore Orient Express, by a Malaysian Sultan, by the pirate king Starfollower on a traditional Phinisi sailing ship among secret islands, by tattooed tribesmen who had found me washed ashore after a storm in the Mentawai Islands off Sumatra. Here unfolds a glorious chiaroscura of resinous darkness and gilded splendor.

This is the shittiest thing ive ever laid my nose on. This is the only fragrance i would rather break my arm than smell it this shit is so fucking ass i would pay not to smell it. Please stay away from this brand. (and the fake owner fuck him too)

I'm surprised people don't even realize this is an inspired by release and a twist of Civet from Zoologist. Almost same vibe except this is much sweeter.
