Qetora Zohar

Qetora Zohar has a mystical, smoky, and lush green quality that emerges immediately upon spraying and taking in the top notes. It’s as if a forest of green is being surrounded by a mysterious cloud, fog, or mist. It’s very enchanting. Dried fruit, figs, and dates make me feel as though I’m wandering through a harvest in an ancient Mesopotamia, just before being brought to a bazaar or market. And there is a quality of pepper that clings to the mist around me. It’s an unusual and engaging scent that makes me wait excitedly for the heart notes to rise. When the heart notes present themselves, they linger with similar smells to the top notes. It’s when the base notes come through that they offer brilliant floral scents of rose, tulip, apple, melon, and lemon. This is a perfume that provides many gifts in a sumptuous array, and it increases in delight over time.

Probably my second favourite perfume. It's gorgeous. I never thought I'd be into a gourmand, but this is deep and complex enough to keep me coming back for more. I get a different experience with the dry down every time I wear it. Sometimes it's pure incense, sometimes it's a toasted teacakes, sometimes it's a spice market. And it just keeps going and going. I can wear it all day at work, then when I go to the gym afterwards and my body heat rises: Hello! There it is again. The initial spray is very different to the overall experience. I think the top notes could be challenging for some people, as it's overwhelmingly mace and pepper. But if you love spices, you're going to fall in love with this

The scent of hope I smell the ingredients exactly as they are listed: Around the atomizer, all the top notes are sharp, the heart notes are rounded off with frankincense, myrrh, dried fruit, and pleasant fig. I can't distinguish between hyacinth and opoponax, let alone toast—thankfully :) In the drydown, amber and sandalwood smooth everything out, making the scent smooth, soothing, almost cozy. Everything harmonizes perfectly, and in the intro, Rudi's fragrance by Nobile1942 becomes softer and smoother after an hour. The brand/perfumer's description of Qetora Zohar fits me perfectly. Lasts 7-8 hours on the wrist and several days on clothing. :)

I wanted to like this so bad but my god it's opening is horrendous.I don't even want to smell it again, I don't want to identify what I don't like. Drydown was decent oriental but not worth it.
