Pierre Cardin Pour Femme Winter Edition

My bottle arrived yesterday, another blind buy prompted by reviews. And... I love it! But it's completely, and I mean 100% different from what I expected. Contrary to the notes listed I get a warm, smooth, sweet vanilla almond milk aura that is absolutely marvelous. I'm not sure how anyone could get "winter" from this one except -stretching here- that the fragrance evokes the aura of a warm cocoon of serenity. Perfect for bedtime. I applied last night before slipping between the sheets to read for a while before sleep and the "almond milk" was so relaxing I only managed to get through a couple of pages before my eyelids fluttered and total relaxation overcame me. I've read posts from members asking what bedtime fragrances might prevent nightmares or induce sleep and I can attest to the calming nature of Pierre Cardin Pour Femme Winter Edition. As I said, it's not at all what I expected (fruity floral? no way!) but it's everything I didn't know I needed... creamy, milky, nutty and ultimately relaxing. My 2.5oz bottle was under $20.00 and I highly recommend it. Think Clinique's Simply without the licorice note. Moderate sillage but impressive longevity - it was evident on my skin the morning after I applied it. A good buy.

I don't have much to add to what has been written in previous reviews. It is indeed a very beautiful gourmand fruity floral. The fruits are delicious,a little on the creamy side, but they don't cross the line beyond which you get that ( at least from me)dreaded "jamlike" note. The vanilla is warm but doesn't conjure up sickenly sweet artificially flavored candy. The flowers have a romantic, delicate and gracious quality, very much like in the original "Pour Femme". I agree with Starlight Angel about this fragrance being suitable all year round. Its fruitiness evokes sunny summer days and warm nights;on the other hand it can give you the cosy and comforting feeling you crave on a winter day... That said, if you love the original "Pour Femme" and are desperate to get your hands on a bottle of this discontinued scent, don't be too sad about it because all in all they are quite similar,the "winter edition" being just clearly a gourmand composition, with more vanilla and a yummy pineapple note.

When I sampled it, I got a strong pineapple note and it reminded me of J.Lo's Live Luxe. I liked it.

Smells a little bit like Sensations by Jil Sander. Nice scent, but not a Musthave.

I was looking through my closet when I stumbled on this little bottle I purchased a couple of years ago. I've never really gotten a lot of use out of this scent but on a whim I sprayed it onto my wrist. And wow...what a revelation! This juice is beautiful. The juicy fruit immediately explodes onto the scene, sweet and tender. Strangely for a "Winter" perfume, the opening actually has a tropical kind of vibe thanks to the effervescent pineapple note. As it dries down the apple becomes more dominant, eclipsing the pineapple and other notes. I agree that it does have a sort of apple pie vibe to it...like a freshly baked caramelized apple pie smothered in vanilla cream. The dry down is also markedly cozier than the opening. In place of the images exotic cocktails that the predominantly fruity opening conjures up, I'm whisked away to a log cabin, warm and snug inside while the snow falls outside. And yet despite that I think this perfume is actually wearable in any kind of weather. It's not just a cool weather scent in my opinion. A lovely scent with excellent lasting power, if you can find this discontinued beauty I'd recommend trying it.
