Jardins de Kerylos 16

This is a wonderful green fig scent; in fact I love everything about it except for its subpar longevity. First of all Jardins De Kerylos has a great name; any perfume name suggesting a garden just does it for me, especially if it's French (and even more so in this case, with the added interest of the Greek influence). This kind of name sets ridiculously high expectations for me, but in this instance they were realized. The opening was love at first sight/smell for me, and it gets me every time: a delicious wave of very natural, very fresh green figs and what can only be peaches, although they're not listed as a note. It's just the best kind of green; refreshing and clean and light, just slightly sweet, so very natural and, importantly, not boring at all. At this point I always feel like I have to order the biggest bottle available RIGHT THEN, costs be damned, and wear it most days for the rest of my life. The only problem is, it does wear off extremely fast. It's not unexpected for such a light summer scent, but it is a bit heartbreaking when you love something as much as this. I can imagine this wouldn't be the case, or much less so, in very hot weather, like another reviewer mentioned; in those conditions the scent might linger a lot longer, and the sycomore that I can't detect at all might show itself. But we just don't get that kind of weather so very often where I live, so I guess this won't be my summer signature after all, and a normal sized bottle for occasional use when I can respray often will have to do.

I absolutely love this fragrance! At first there is a strong creamy fig scent, with a hint of peach. There is something slightly salty about it, it very much reminds me of relaxing by a Mediterranean beach absorbing the vastness of the sea, the scent of suncream floating around in the air, the atmosphere not too dry or humid but just right. It's fresh and gentle, sweet but not sugary or too overpowering. Especially nice to wear of a warm sunny day wherever you are, as it transports you to somewhere a little more romantic. There's a classiness to it but not too much, there is just enough space for nature, twisting trees, long grasses and white sand. After about an hour it settles down to become quite musky, the peach is more prominent and balances well with the fig. It's subtle and gentle, and feels more like something you picked up from the environment than having sprayed it on you. It not strong, and the spillage is somewhat intimate, although you can definitely pick it up in the breeze. It's not pretentious and doesn't feel unnatural or heavy. Before I got the sample I was wondering if it lived up to the description of being a Mediterranean fig garden by the sea, but it really does! My mood changes positively each time I catch it. I'm extremely pleased with this, very much a summer fragrance, although you could wear it in spring. I will certainly be wearing this by the beach, or casual get together's during the day.

This is a lovely, joyful fragrance. I'm surprised there is no peach note listed, as to my nose this fragrance opens with a tart, juicy peach. It gives the fragrance an interesting tang and integrates very well with the rest of the fragrance. The peach lightens the sweet hay aspect of fig leaves, which I love so much. It makes the composition come alive. There are some additional fresh and difficult to identify green notes, which mingle with the creamy wood notes and transform them into the scent of a young, living sapling. The green sapling is enriched with a milky coconut note that mimics the effect of sticky fig sap. This is a very linear fragrance, to me these notes pretty much coexist throughout its development. Which is in no way a negative.If any of them withdraws from the fragrance the charming slight contrast between fresh peach and milky coconut would be lost. It's a game of contrasts, it is simultaneously innocent and intellectual, joyful and thought-provoking. Not about physicality or allure, it is clean and probably office appropriate, although it is original enough to call quite a bit of attention to itself. Complaints about its lasting power are lost on me, on hair and clothes I get faint whiffs of it for over 24 hours. However, it is not massive in terms of sillage, which to me isn't so much a drawback as it is a characteristic of the perfume.

A few years ago iwas working at beautiful peach orchards in Spain. This scent reminds me of this time - fresh, juicy, delicious peaches , full of sunlight, refreshing, divine. This is probably the most "real" of all fruity perfumes that i have tried. Although for some people it may be to sweet, i don't find it clogging or unpleasant because it is so "real", i feel none of the artificial soda-like sweetness which is the cardinal sin of some fruity perfumes. I would love to have a whole bottle. This is pure Summer, orchard, Sun, juice on your fingers and lips.

Wow... Not your typical take on fig. But indeed, this is so fresh and uplifting. I simply love the smell of it. The longevity is moderate at best and the sillage is rather tame. But this is still worth the purchase if you enjoy a fresh green fragrance. [UPDATE: April 9, 2013] I wore this in Kuwait's heat today. This develops beautifully and lasts for eons. Every phase of development was pure enjoyment and I LOVE that sycamore!

A wonderful transparent greenness gently infused with light florals. Jardins de Kerylos takes me to a well-kept rustic garden by the Mediterranean. In the cool shade under a fig tree i can watch the small boats moving across the bay. Jardins de Kerylos is outstanding among the PG perfumes i tried so far. It does not last for long and projection is very moderate, but what a beautiful place to be for the time it lasts.

It is Summer and I am sitting under a fig tree on our farm, eyes closed and nothing on my mind, feeling the sun gently tingle my face. Smelling this takes me back to my childhood and I smell (yes, smell, not wear) this fragrance just for the memories and that is why this will always be a favourite.

Stunning peachy fig fragrance - lasts on me all day and is absolutely perfect for summer. An absolute love and a hidden gem for anyone who enjoys a fig fragrance 🙌🏻💕

I really like this on card. It's an original, grassy fig. Looking forward to seeing if it agrees with my skin, which most PGs do not, sadly.

The first thing that I immediatley noticed while smelling Jardins de Kerylos is the outstanding quality of this composition. Guillame's interpretation of the fig anhances its leafy green aspect to the point of becaming almost bitter. This "dangerous direction" is cleverly balanced by a subtle floral accord (most detectable in the drydown) that makes this composotion reaching an incrediblly sophisticated and refined perfection. Jardins de Kerylos is far from beeing a semplicistic fragrance and together with Heeley's Figuer, Diptyque's Philosykos and L'artisan's Premier Figuer settles among the best fig interpretations around. Good. Rating: 8/10

I was looking for a "fresh light ethereal fragrance" for summer, as it gets ridiculously hot here, and lovely a fragrantican suggested this for me. Well, its perfectly what I was looking for. Its fresh, clean and best of all really natural! I get real fresh figs, (the milkiness of figs too) white peaches and very subtle tuberose, seamlessly blended, so real and so very natural...I have to emphasise that. On skin it develops wonderfully, I just want to keep inhaling! It sadly does not last a long time and is more like a skin scent in the dry-down.

I sprayed it on, and immediately, my hubby said that it smelled like overripe apples, and that was it. All I can smell from now on is a crate of green apples that you collect from the ground, the ones that are slightly overripe. I actually quite like that smell; it connects me with happy memories. It doesn't stay on my skin for long, nor does it project well. It's a very intimate perfume, just for yourself, but it actually suits the scent.

Jardins de Kérylos deserves far more attention than it gets. If you love Philosykos or Premier Figuier, this sits firmly in that family, but to my nose it's even more realistic, capturing the cool shade of a fig tree on a hot summer afternoon rather than just the fruit or the leaves. Exceptionally green, natural and quietly beautiful, it's the hidden gem of fig fragrances, and the one I'd reach for over the better-known classics.

This is really beautiful on the dry down, it becomes slightly sweet and musky. During the first hour I found the fragrance to be quite bitter, herbally. Leaning strongly on the masculine side. I didn't like it. But as it settled, it leaned more feminine and true "unisex", which ends up being very beautiful, light, refreshing fragrance. Really perfect for spring. 6.5/10

A floral-fig interesting but so short that I do not think it worthwhile to develop. even on paper it lasts only two-three hours Un floral-figue intéressant mais tellement bref que je ne pense pas que ça vaille la peine de développer plus que ça. Mmmm. Fig, peach, cut grass on a breeze. It really is as it claims to be and so very very clean. It's not the kind of scent I usually want to express myself with, it doesn't quite fit my personality. However it doesn't project much and is so pleasant to have on for personal enjoyment rather than to make a statement

Really green and watery fig, feels like a fat glass of water after the beach. Very good, very natural smelling. I only like 2 figs more than this one, and both are more creamy and coconuty. Refreshing!

I love the fresh fragrance of fig but unfortunately it doesn't last long and fades away too fast. One must carry the bottle in a purse and vaporize it every now and then.

I like the green apple and the white peach (bellini! sic!) in the opening...very pleasant and easy-to-wear-fragrance...

Clean fresh fig! I smell what I thought was citrus, but I don’t see that listed. Then he goes away.

You are on a tropical holiday being served a floating breakfast of freshly cut figs while you relax in the infinity pool. The surrounding vegetation fills the air with a light green scent with a hint of flowers. Now imagine a world in which the smell of chlorine didn't exist. The smell of that sparkling pool, the figs, the green. That is this perfume. It is beautiful but not for me as it is too aquatic. Tested four from the Fantastic Figs sample pack from Bloom, and here are my thoughts from best to worst: 195 a.C - Unique, masterful. A woody, fruity, smoky delight. Beso Pasión - a beautiful Thai green curry that dries to a tug of war between sweet fig and prickly woods. Jardins de Kerylos 16 comes in third place. Iris Oriental 14 -A pot of warm spiced honey next to a vase of freshly picked iris flowers.

A much sweeter turn on the fig theme and very much a Jardin not just a fig tree. There's a masculine quality to it though, with a slightly bitter note to the composition. Pleasant but not long-lasting, it drifts away like a Mediterranean breeze after not so long.

Think: mulched grass and fig twigs (not sweet fig fruit). That's pretty much it! It's VERY green. Reminds me of being a kid and rolling down wet, grassy hills. Jardins de Kerylos comes on strong on first spray: in the kind of way that "pinches" my nose. And then it disappears! There's no particular development: it goes straight to dry down -- which is simply a waaay weaker version of the first spray. Maybe I'll feel differently about it once I've caught a whiff of it on the wind, or after having worn it all night. It's NOT a terrible perfume -- I don't want to scrub it off, and I could wear it anywhere, anytime. But I'm not wowed just yet.

The first blast of fig is on the creamy side, but not syrupy. Then the "greenness" quickly manifest itself as a...rubbery tone. I remember violet leaf sometimes has such effect. Although fig leaf is among the notes list, it lacks certain "crushed stem" facet, as in Ichnusa (Profumum Roma) or even philosykos. The creaminess and rubbery tone compete for a while, and in my hand, the rubber won the battle. So it settles down to a rather synthetic fig accord.

Sweet and delicate, green fragrance. It's the most gentle fig fragrance I've encountered so far. This smells like sweet cut grass and fig leaf mixed together, smells very natural. I would say it's Philosykos baby brother - innocent and baby soft. The fragrance stays the same from the beginning to the end.

A lovely grassy scent. I did not get the usual fig-sharpness (As in Philosykos), but rather a wet green freshness. Reminded me of a fresh and sunny spring day, and that made me just really happy. The base is not very strong, to me it was almost invisible, but others smelled and liked it.

A beautiful green landscape under a summer sun, but completely lost on me. I need flowers and this is all greeeeeeen. I wish I liked it more because it is beautifully blended, but it's so not me...Going to try it on my husband, maybe I'll enjoy it more smelling it on him!

I don't know what happened, but instead of fig I smell an anis-y note right away, much more intense than fig, but then it turns into a really comfortable scent, even more pleasant than Premier Figuier, which is fig atop fig. Lasted about 2 hours, though.

On me, this has a lovely fresh fig smell with green notes. But it almost completely faded in about an hour, so probably not the best fig scent for me.

After I spray on my skin, ohhhh!!! Combination of fig, herbs, coconut-like smell !! Yes Yes >>>> Green curry (Thai food) in the bottle.

This is very similar to Philosykos,only the coconut is replaced with peache. I prefer philosykos is more balanced

Less creamy than Philosykos, more green and grassier. I actually get a hint of anise too. I like it, very fresh!

Very similar to Invisible Post 19-69. Both are lovely green, vegetal and earthy.
