Le Musc & La Peau Extrait de Parfum

super weird yet so lovely, i want it. it smells like something from the past, and i can’t quite pinpoint what it’s reminding me of, but it feels very effortless. it’s warm yet green-cold, musky and comforting, but also makes you wonder—as in, not comforting to the point of being boring, it has a personality. smells like a really, really beautiful feminine man, a stylish person but not try-too-hard, who doesn’t know how beautiful he is. idk why, but i think it has clary sage even though it’s not listed. i want this in my life. also ambrette seeds. smells or reminds me of the same style of fragrance as skin by clean reserve—it’s clean. smells like someone whose body odour is naturally delicious.

I originally tried the EDP version, and I love this one much much more. They're definitely very different! Here you're missing the aldehydes, which are very prominent in the original and for me are always a bit headache inducing. The original also took much longer to develop nicely on my skin. It had a very dated powdery feel for the first two hours, whereas this one was great right away! It's a lot warmer and has less laundry detergent vibes. If you like a more lactonic/woody/aromatic vibe, go for the extrait. If you like a more powdery/laundry/clean vibe the go for the EDP.

The extrait is milky, and less bright than the original, and I prefer it that way. The extrait is one of the most comforting and luxurious scent profiles I have ever put my nose on. I find the edp to be more dusty-woody than the extrait, which is also woody, but creamy rather than dry. The original is like linen fabric, a bit crisp and textured, becoming softer with wear time, while the extrait presents like silk, smooth and velvety from beginning to end. Incredible release!

Wow, what a perfume! I'm not very well versed in the world of perfumes yet and this was my first real buy. Needless to say, I am obsessed and it is quickly turning into a daily scent. The smell is mild but pleasant, and universally enjoyed. Since wearing it, multiple coworkers have come up to me asking me about the smell, saying things like "it's YOU who's smelling so good!" And coming up to me sniffing the air before talking to me. Definitely worth the price tag!

Wow. I sprayed this first on paper and my immediate impression: photorealistic rosemary. mmmmm.. On skin, it's all gentle, herby, clean, freshly bathed musk. It goes into little fancy soap territory (which I dig). This is beautiful. I can't stop smelling my wrist and I can envision myself wearing this in any setting, It seems to stay pretty close to skin but I am writing this having just met it and spraying it once on my wrist. I want it.

I love this fragrance; it's my no-brainer reach. As other reviewers have mentioned, I don't find the extrait to be more masculine. I notice the DedCool comparison during the dry-down, although the opening here is more powdery. I rate it a perfect 10/10, and it lasts a long time on my skin. I prefer this version to the EDP. While the openings are different, the dry-downs are similar, and the extrait lasts significantly longer.

At long last, I’ve found it! The milky, woody musk that embodies both silky, radiant skin and a luxurious spa aura. On me, it conjures a creamy, snow-white purity, wrapped in an almost tactile, velvety softness. So beautiful... It feels like a magic wand brushing over the senses; ushering me straight into gentle, blissful dreams. I haven’t experienced something this delicate, soft, and innocent in a long time; truly love at first sniff. Pierre Guillaume Paris Le Musc & La Peau Extrait smells like the original edp except I'd describe this more as a molecular woody musk with a warm steamed milk accord. As opposed to a super literal milk scent that the note tends to be, here it is thinned and steamed creating a musk that replicates warm clean skin, more like a very subtle sweet bodily smell. Lol sounds weird but I've been trying to find this kind of milky musk accord that makes that bodily feel more apparent, instead of turning sour, rancid, or like baby spit-up. Not a deep musky vanilla and not a soapy musk, what deterred me from ELDO Ghost in a Shell that also has a milk note. No salt. No citrus or aldehydes that become sharp to me in cold weather. Not a musk that's muggy in warm environments. Smells like clean skin with nothing on it, hours after taking a hot bath with an obscure peppermint-rosemary herb scrub long washed away. The rosemary is so subtle and does not take over like the aromatic tends to do in perfumery and cooking. The original is great too and similar, but with aldehydes softened to my liking, sans the milk note. However it disappears quickly on my skin. The Extrait is stronger in projection by double and lasts for hours which I can smell for the whole time. In the deep dry down at 4 hours, the molecule in this starts to smell more like hedione because I get a clothing iron steam smell, with starch used, which is how I describe hedione. Now I understand why Initio Musk Therapy was listed as compared to the extrait, although I don't completely agree. To me the Extrait smells more like Mizensir Very Musc, which I thought smelled like clean saliva, which I interpret as a bodily scent, and starchy ironing steam too but that one lists Ambroxan and not hedione. Very weird description from me but that's what I get.

This is different from the original. It is more wood forward and balsam like. Leaning more masculine to my nose, the original with the black cap is truly unisex and is softer. The difference is mostly in the opening and on skin after an hour or so of wear it starts smelling similar to edp version as the base with musks is nearly identical. I blind bought this one thinking it will just be a stronger performer with the same fragrance in the bottle, but due to it leaning on the side of smelling like an aftershave, I think I'll exchange it for the original that I truly love because it's delicate, milky and etherial.

I'm a big fan of Le Musc & la Peau EDP, so of course I tried the extrait. yes it's more concentrated, but the differences don't stop there: the opening is more powerful than the EDP. We're straight into the heart of the matter, with a much more carnal side. The opening is also a little more aromatic than the edp. I have to admit I'm a bit frustrated by the edp: everyone around me smells it and compliments me, but it blends so well with my skin that I don't even feel it personally. with the extrait, i was able to enjoy this fragrance too throughout the day. I think I'll fall for this new PG opus...

I think about this fragrance everyday since i tried it in a store in Berlin last year. Managed to get a small tiny sample that i havent even used just to smell it everynight. Something so comforting and fresh and clean and milky and elegant, sits really close to the skin and will not project but its truly beautiful and angelic. I cant get myself to bite the bullet just yet because i have way too many perfumes but i really havent thought about a fragrance as much since i tried it once (besides gaiac 10). I would shower in this if i could and inject it into my skin its THAT serious.

This definitely fits the brief. Pretty much the same at the original but with a little more projection, and a lot more longevity. The original died on my skin pretty quickly but this is still easily picked up 8 hours later. The opening showcases the rosemary milk, which is the only thing I'm finding much different than the original but as it gradually dies down, it's very similar to my nose. That said, if you love the first, IMO this is worth a pick up if you find the longevity or strength lacking.

I own a bottle of the original and now have a travel size of the extrait. I wish it was the other way around, since I prefer this extrait. But to my nose, they are very similar. The difference in the extrait is that it’s slightly creamy and a bit smoother, with the aromatic touches a tiny bit subdued (but still there). They are both wonderful aromatic clean musks, with the extrait being a very subtle adjustment. If you don’t like the original, you won’t like this either, in my opinion.

Love this scent. Very elegant, clean but interesting musk scent. The rosemary and Ylang are discernible but restrained, the milk is not rotten like in A Une Madone...it is a creamy, expensive smelling musk with a slightly woody drydown. I want a full bottle. I also want back up bottles. This might be signature scent material...wow..so so good!

JUST WOW, this is the kind of scent you'd have to ask the person who is wearing it what it is... I literally can't find any scent that I could compare to this, the fresh musk is just so pleasant and wraps you inside a super clean white but fluffy sheet - this is a good layering scent.

I wonder if this is the extract version of the first Le Musc (black cap) or of the second one in White, that was more woody and dry than milky...

I. NEED. THIS. ASAP. The original is such a good easy reach, every day, work friendly, everything perfume, totally unisex and clean.
