Liqueur Charnelle

Ok so honest opinion here...I get the spice bomb reference. But this is way better in terms of smell and quality. It is not a clone either, so don't get that twisted. Don't be a fool and pass this up if you own spice bomb , Bc if you like spice bomb you will love this juice. It's boozy, woody and with nuances of a subtle spice. Perfectly done and so addicting. I am shocked this doesn't have more love than like, though how can I take this sites rating chart serious when a total of 37 people have and had it, and more (67) people want it ?! That means the scale is completely out of whack. You have to own and wear a fragrance a couple of times to have the honor of rating the scale, I wish people were more honest but oh well. Take a look at my collection and see how serious I am and trust me when when I say this is easily the top 10 best frags of all time ! Blind buy worthy Full bottle worthy 10/10 Masterpiece!!!!!!!! I've seen comparisons to Frapin 1270, but the sweetness of Liqueur Charnelle is not quite so sustained, and it's not quite as boozy. Fruity opening of the non-tropical variety (and therefore refreshing). This one is more of a booze-tinged resin fragrance. I adore Liqueur Charnelle, and I'm going to goad Le Boyfriend into trying this one, because I'd love to smell this on a man. Gorgeous, rich unisex that is a continual presence, but never cloying. Dries down quite light, indeed, so you won't have to worry about packing a wallop to someone over on the next block. Another added to my WANT list. Love it.

Lushious rich boozy scent with crazy amount of berries and fruits. Very hypnotic stuff. Lots of people compare it to the spicebomb. I get why but I don't entirely agree with this comparison. Spicebomb is more sharp and loud. This on the other hand is a smooth symphony of notes. I get grapes, liqueur, oakwood in the mid and very christmas-like conipherous opening for first 20 seconds. Base is mainly sweet resins, vanilla and tonka. It's a seen before classic compostion, but with incredible level of execution.

It IS quite similar to Initio Rehab. Just Liquer Charnelle has a more spicy opening and spicies in the middle, but drydown is just the same. Initio Rehab in winter time doesn't last on me almost at all, but Liquer charnelle is with me already 6 hours. I adore Initio Rehab, but only in warm weather, because of sillage. Liquer Charnelle is like an explosion on my skin in cold time - I can't wait until there will be summer - how this cosy, warm and beautiful scent will behave. just LOVE from first sniff.

This is such an underrated fragrance. Only 12 reviews on this! Really?? I can definitely see the similarities to spicebomb extreme but this has a little something different to offer. Spicy cherry raspberry cognac vibe and lasts longer in my opinion. Perfect for a cold winter day when the snow is about a foot deep. Definitely a holiday comfort scent. This is basically spicebomb on steroids. I own both, and spicebomb is great, but maybe a little too sweet. This however, is a perfectly blended spice extravaganza. The subtle boozyness at the start and the BAM spice explosion. Dry down is beautiful and sweet however I’m yet to personally detect any of the fruit notes. Either way this is a solid 10/10 scent!

I have received a sample with my order. It is spicy, sweet and very pleasant. Minus the spices to me it reminds me FM musc ravageur and that is a very big complement. My first impression it is something I would add to me collection.

A nice dark and sweet night out scent. This was released before the peak of the bubblegum era. So a lot of designers were inspired by the musk in here. I’ve read some comments mentioning that this is a dupe of Spicebomb extreme. I think its the other way around if you look at the release year. This is 2014. Spicebomb is 2015. Crazier yet hemingway was launched in 2013. In 2025 this fails to be something special and will get lost in the mix. Its a fairly good scent, though. I can see this being someone’s signature and totally kill it every-time. To my nose its musk therapy with a touch of dessert wine added to it. Its pretty good. The more i wear it. The more i like it. I started out with a 5. I am standing now in a 7.5/10. The drydown keeps getting better and better. I think people are correct with the reminds me of section. Downvoters probably skipped the drydown. The opening is indeed not like SB extreme. But wait 1 hour. [update] Wore it a few times at night. Upping my vote to 8/10

I get a boozy, vanillic note, possibly patch, but I'm not sure... There might be a rum note in this, it's hard to say for certain. I don't love it, I must say, but I certainly like it. It's not that I have something like this already, or anything else related to redundancy and the like, it just doesn't have that 'different' punch. It's kinda similar to other scents I already have. The JM Oakwood and Whiskey, Joop Homme, and a few Tommy Bahama scents I've tried. I don't think I need to try this out again...

Immediately reminded me of Spicebomb Extreme. This has a sweeter top to it but shares a similar base. I like this better as I tend to enjoy the sweeter side. Some comments mention a boozy or beer scent. I get this but it's less on the sour side and a tad sweeter. I initially found it all berry sweet but after a few minutes, it's well balanced and very nice. Again, for me it fits perfectly in between spicebomb and spicebomb extreme - a good comparison.

Spicebomb minus spices. Plus more dried fruits and berries, and minus bomb. On my skin it turns even sweeter than sprayed on paper. Way too fem to be called unisex. If you would take Bulgari's Man In Black and mix it with Liqueur Charnelle you probably end up with Spicebomb.

Spicy & fresh opening of pepper & lime. Tamed vanilla amber background. A fizzy grape keeps peeking in from time to time. Half an hour in, a beautiful tobacco stirs up the boozy sweetness. Warm, intoxicated, spicy and sweet tobacco dream that's equally feminine & masculine.

To me it smells pretty similar to Spicebomb, which I admittedly haven't smelled in a couple of years. Still, for this sort of scent I'd rather go with 1899 by Histoires de Parfums.

It starts stong enough with a symphony of spices, but interestingly enough I find licorice to be the strongest note. It's quite possible that this is the result of the combination of all those different notes. In fact, there's too much going on and it somehow lacks coherence. I don't find it 'boozy' in any way. My biggest complaint though is that this strong start fizzles out quickly, and there is no drydown to speak off. Even if I press my nose really close, all I get is something vaguely woody, and even this doesn't last very long before it disappears. I would expect vanilla at least, but there is none of that. Disappointing overall.

I really wanted to like this, but as in many of his main PG line and the rest of his Huitieme Art line I find that Pierre Guillaume falls short of his stated objective. In this case he is trying to achieve the essence of cognac. In fact he is channeling the ghost of Luten's Filles en Aiguilles but without the wonderful pines & delightful frankincense that elevates the sweet fruity base. This is rather lumpen in its linearity and generic, somewhat woody (Iso E?) sweetness. Last year's Monsieur was also a big generic yawn. He also does the rather pedestrian Phaedon line, leading me to think that he needs to develop far fewer frags and focus on SAYING something..... nice bottle though!

Cognac con un pizzico di limone. Partenza aspramente alcolica che non si ammorbidisce. Un'eco lontanissima di vaniglia, tutte le altre note riportate non pervenute. Ha lo stesso aroma di un bicchierino di grappa. Monocorde, semplice. Apprezzabile forse da un alpino. Per me, proprio no grazie.

Opening is sweet delicious balsams, very alluring and sexy. In an hour on skin - turns extra chemical and musky, very typical for mass market drydowns. Would not wear it just because of that cheapy development...

On me it smells like something I could eat for dinner.

the top note is a very drawback note. it reminded me for once the essence of someone who had beer. too much cognac and too much dried fruits (mostly apples), some sour raspberries, and bitter caramel. after few minutes the vanilla arise and those top combination withdraws a little bit in away that you can sense the sweetness at least for awhile. but still the top combinations where blinded harshly in away that when all drawbacks and let the vanilla leads makes the essence in general smells slightly like Henna (حنا) it's the type of mixed herbals that indians uses to adorns their hands and legs, it's similar to tattoos but it vanishes in few days. in short it's what Madonna placed in her hands on Frozen music video.

Another Spicebomb clone. Sure, it's better than the original (smoother and a bit sweeter), but so are Histoires de Parfums 1899 Hemingway (which is spicier) and Initio Rehab (sweeter and the smoothest of the four). I'm incredibly bored with this scent and have not had any desire to wear it, in any of its iterations, for years now. It certainly has mass appeal and I get why, but it's just one or two steps removed from the Aventus clone mania. Anyway, there are much more interesting Pierre Guillaume fragrances that are worth trying, like Sorong, Cadjmere, and Cuir Venenum. Try those!

What are we talking about here? Huitieme Art Parfums offering of Spicebomb or Victor & Rolf's Liqueur Charnelle(pun intended)? One is niche, the other is designer. Guess which one is better? You're right!!! Spicebomb is indeed the more premium, dandy, and admirable choice. But of course, suckers are born every minute thus ignoring this review and purchasing the more expensive less potent Liqueur Charnelle.

V&R Spicembomb, Joop Homme Absolute and L’occitane Eau des Baux are all very much along the same lines as this as I’m sure many others are. Plenty of others have described it perfectly well below, all I would add is if this is the scent profile you’re looking for then go for one of the aforementioned, you’ll save yourself a lot of money and get equal if not better performance.

Strong Spicebomb vibes. Not identical but definitely familiar. For me this sits somewhere between Spicebomb V&R and Noir Extreme TF. Not a bad thing, only redundant if you have the other two. Slightly more on the masculine side of the unisex.

A boring fragrance. Smells nice but nothing special. I agree that this smells a lot like Spicebomb but less spicy and maybe a tad sweeter.

Fabuloso with wood shavings, car leather, and cologne. Perhaps better suited for men. Very perplexing... not in a positive way for me.

Beautiful notes, big disappointment. Tobacco dipped in jar of pickled cucumbers. At least on my skin.

This is a very expensive dupe of Spicebomb Extreme with worse performance. Very disappointing

this is very similar to spicebomb and 1899. It has the similar vibe although is not identical
