It's not a very strong one with enermous sillage, but a pretty comlex one just like most creation by PG. ( btw the notes are not totally fullfilled/correct. The 'powdery and foral notes' are containing humid and earthy powdery iris and almondy-balmy heliotrope. And in the composition there are other red berries also. i recognise some raspberry-ish nuances. Plus there is also a bit of coumarin.) Pierre Guillaume takes this fragrance masterfully and with a delicate touch on to the edge of the gourmand theme. The sweetish Griotte!/Morello Cherry and the raspberry nuances paired with the almond like, balmy and powdery heliotrope and the iris gives a semi-lipstick effect which is fueled and “leather-powdery” sophistication of a unique duet of Bois de Violette and Absolue Thé Noir(/ black tea absolute). *It's feels like an erotic temptation, how it's slipping from our lips to the tip of our tongue and we taste the unspoken, whispered lustful words of love... And ahhw the licorice..! The licorice what is levitating above the root of the compisition: the woody, blurry and humid dark velvet! Licorice is the magical note which has this enigmatic, mysterious and a little bit poison like vibe and which has this bewitching hazy and etheteal veil like luminescence what fluresces from the shady background and makes this scent irressistibly alluring and enigmatic! ♡ Btw if i truly want i could understand the lolita lempicka - sweet comparsions... but Mad about You is much more rounder, smoother, darker and hazier. And this masterpiece has this truly lushfull and tempting erotic vibe with its own sophisticated ellegance. At the best case Lempicka's Sweet only could be the childish version of this. As usal, Pierre takes usual, familiar and often seen accords ( in this case just like in some lempickas or little black dress) then he twists and reinterprets them, and makes an unique creation with his recognisable fringerprints on it. For me Mad about You is an other gem from PG. 🍒🧪💋💜💄🖤🪻 ------- This is my second night-out/date night fav from him after La nuit de l'Orchidée what is masterpiece. ( Speeking about that, La Nuit also could be a noninteresting 1000x seen leather vanilla, but it's not that. I never ever smell nothing similar to that "liquid-leather" accord at the base in it) So if you like PG's creations and you are searching for bit melancholic smoothly dark, sophisticated and alluring night fragrances, i advice to smell Mad about You and La Nuit de l'Orchidée. ♡

First blast of sweet black cherries and a vaguely spicy warm wood. This is Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire's older and more sophisticated sister. The cherries are rounder and full, more juicy and real, not artificial cough syrupy at all. After a minute a soft floral sweetness steps forward, still sweet fruity with those soft spiced woods always in the background that start taking baby steps closer to the front as time passes. Unfortunately, this scent does not seem to be sticking to my skin at all. I'll keep my nose on it and I'm really hoping it hangs around because this is a gorgeous scent. Feminine and best for mild weather. 6+ hours later: The scent has very soft projection but at least it's sticking around. It's all faintly there on my skin now.

The opening of this gives me a flash of the original formulation of Lolita Lempicka. Definitely not as spicy or complex, but many of the components are there- cherry, licorice, powder (iris), and the ‘green’ from the tea (ivy). I keep getting a glimpse of the early 2000s, when that was my signature, whenever I get a whiff. Mad About You is obviously much simpler and more in-your-face but I still quite like it. This is like opening a young teen’s handbag with cherry lipgloss, violet candies, and a face powder compact inside- not exactly elegant, but a fun sweet scent that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I got a sample of this one and i really liked it. So i bought a full bottle, just received it today. Im telling y'all it is so true spray vs dabber is no contest. I LOVE "Mad About You"!! The cherry and violet are so much more beautiful when it comes out of the spray. I definitely get the reference to Lolita Lempicka The licorice and black tea are delicious. Im not getting a lot of powder in this. Nice dry down. Im ver happy with this one! I do think it can be worn during all seasons. I dont think this is a LL dupe, more like a similar vibe. Might possibly be my new signature. 😉

Powder!! ... a lot of powder!! Sweet cherry licorice, a bit of wood and a lot of powder. By the way, did I mention that it’s powdery? In all seriousness, it’s very pretty. The florals take a bit to show up, and even when they do, they’re soft and understated. As I sit here typing this I’m wondering if it’s maybe a bit too much powder. I love powdery & sweet fragrances... but.... It’s hard to say much about longevity because I feel like it’s more likely you’d go nose-blind to it, than it actually wearing off. I’m on the fence about whether I need this or not. I want to love it, because it’s got all the elements I should adore... but I think it might be too much of a good thing.

What this reminds me of: Mariage Freres Tea! In all honesty I'm not getting any licorice here. I do get a lot of sour cherry, and I can't avoid the association with L'homme Ideal EDP. It has a similar vibe at the beginning, but a different trajectory. This one develops beautifully to a drydown that still maintains the cherry note, plus what I would describe as a patchouli-iris combo (I could be wrong, and it's the violets playing tricks to my nose). I get tea, but not the usual type (see opening sentence). None of this is meant as criticism. This is a lovely composition.

Mad About You smells like the vibe of a circa-2000s satin bed set. On my skin, the licorice and sour cherry really pop out. It leans bitter and medicinal on the dry down. But I really like it for some reason? I don't think that I'll purchase a full bottle, but this is definitely one I'll be pulling out once Halloween comes around.

I really like it, very playful spring perfume. Opens up with powdery cherry, then calms down on the skin with sweet irises. Very pretty, should work great in a warm weather. Because it’s says close to skin, the sweetness of cherries doesn’t get annoying. Leans more towards feminine fragrances. 7/10 ❤️

Beautiful scent, but just too sweet for me, unfortunately. Fruity-sweet, floral-powdery and really REALLY alluring. I personally don't wish to smell like this, but if my wife wore this, I would be quite happy. I'd love to smell this on her, just not myself. Definitely worth a try...

This is a grown-up candy scent. I get straight cherry candy and sasparilla tea; sweet and woody with a heavy dose of powdery lipstick accord. It shares some DNA with Tom Ford Lost Cherry, slightly medicinal, but much less sticky and doused in violet.

If you mixed Lolita with a cherry jolly rancher - it’s fun for sure. On me there is a freshness that stands out that Lolita doesn’t have

All about the cherries in the beginning, then fades to a soft violet/leather skin scent. LL's little sister is quite the tease.

A bowl of sweet cherries in a dark humid garden of violets. The violet in here is still planted in well fertilized black soil. I think of a Blue morpho butterfly’s iridescent wings in the dark. Also the Atrophaneura semperi albofasciata Blood Red Vampire Butterfly the type that puddle feasts on blood and tears. I think of the 🦋 in this dark wet sweet but earthy environment. The scent projection stays with you but without any sillage, like a dark secret that one can only know if they are close to you. I like that they used a super popular fruit like cherry, a typical favorite fruit (“ground breaking” in Miranda Priestly's voice) and intertwined it with a damp slightly murky earthy element to keep the scent grounded, rare, dark and away from basic girl fruity. I have a blue morpho butterfly in a lucite block and I also like to pick up dead butterflies when I go walking, I lay them to rest in my planters, they are so beautiful; this act reminds me of this scent along with cherries. 🍒🦋

These are not distinctive Morello or Amarena cherries, don't expect acidity and vigor, more like white watery ones with a green stem. Tea, licorice or violet never occured on me. The aroma quickly loses its cherryness and from a general creamy fruitiness it goes into a sticky powdery waxiness like lip gloss. Nothing too interesting, soft and second skin until almost 3 hours later when cologne woody drydown appears on scene.

It’s been quite a while since I sprayed a new perfume, then 10 minutes later rushed to wash it off. The opening of M.A.Y. smells like the interior of a van that hauls kids around: cherry car air freshener, plastic toys, powdery violet candies, crayons that have melted a bit in the heat and pungent food crumbs that have gotten stuck in between the seats.

Mad About You is a very sweet fragrance with cherry and violet taking center stage. I don’t detect much licorice or tea.

Spilled fruit beer and bitter tea. Despite my initial blurb, this is a pleasant fragrance; I've made non-fraghead friends say "Ooooo" when smelling this. It's candied enough to be attractive while still being strong and assertive. However, my experience of it is somewhat tainted by a specific comparison. Has anybody here tried Belgian kriek beers? They're sour, fermented with freely occurring yeasts and bacteria, and flavored with cherries. It's like an alcoholic juice box with a bit of lacto-fermented funk. I drink them often enough to consider them a staple food group. I can almost smell the bottle from my desk—yeasty, sour, warm almondy cherry, with a bitter hoppy edge. A nice drink to have, but have you ever wanted to smell like you spilled some on yourself? It happens often enough on evenings in cafe terraces, the blanket on my lap soaked in sour cherry booze. It's too closely rooted in reality; winter chills and a sticky skirt with an inescapable scent of cherries and hops wafting around me. Will I ever get over this comparison? Will I finally learn to hold my glass properly and avoid disaster? Do I need help in overcoming this trauma? This fragrance might serve as exposure therapy cause the sour cherry note is uncannily similar to the real deal. The hops' impression could be more spot on, but the grassy bitter tea note comes uncomfortably close to replicating it. The fragrance escapes beer bottle territory with a soapy, cosmetic violet and sweet deep licorice. It all rests on a bed of soft, well-worn leather. Have you ever had to dry-clean a leather skirt? It's a complete nightmare. I need a laundromat, a shower, and a better grip on my juice box.

*Weird Analogy Alert* Pierre Guillaume is like the Soundcloud rapper of fragrance houses. His work is often on the attention seeking unnatural side. In this case, let's just say that the proverbial broken clock is nearing the hour where the time is actually right. I wanted to hate this fragrance but end up accidentally liking this one. This is a little bit on the immature side but I got a feeling that you're not gonna care. The cherry note juxtaposed with the powdery floral stuff smells like the strawberry in Hilde Soliani's Fraaagola Saalaaata. Overall, this gourmand is somewhat reserved and not the type of thing where you would want the projection to be Van Damme-ing. The underlining woody note plays the important role of adding some muscle to an otherwise callow offering. A potential sleeper.

MAY is simply vibrant, youthful, fun and delicious! The cherry note really comes through, bolstered by licorice and tea. It seems more detectable and recognizable as cherry, from arm's length, rather than wrist-to-nose. Violet adds light, pretty vivaciousness and indistinct floral notes add depth and roudness. As MAY dries down, it gets powdery (yay!) but still holds a hint of that cherry note. MAY quite possibly could be worn year-round. Fun. Simple. Delightful and casual. Every fragrance wardrobe needs a few uncomplicated, lively and fun scents like this. 7/10
