Mojito Chypre

This is a bizarre masterpiece with a sense of humor. A true unisex that is not gender neutral but is equal parts masculine and feminine in the most stereotyped ways and very aggressively so. The booziness is heavy and the vetiver is so overtly rugged as to be sexually charged. It’s a beautiful vetiver but its raw and unchecked macho attitude comes across as insecure manwhore. The booziness of course exacerbates this. Then there is the big, loud strawberry which manages to smell both authentically fruit like and like candy at the same time. It smells like if actual strawberries had dials to adjust their ripeness level and sugar content and the ripeness and sweetness were dialed up to eleven. The strawberry is overripe and bursting with juice so thick and sticky with sugar that it’s practically syrup. Drenched and dripping sugary strawberry that smells hot pink as opposed to red... this is a slutty strawberry. The booziness of course exacerbates this. The mint is strong and keeps everything chilled and refreshing. The vetiver and strawberry swim about in the crisp, clean mint chilled liquor while vying for dominance. They play with one another but they are unable to ever coalesce entirely. The lime is pretty subtle. It is mainly a garnish just like on the rim of a cocktail, it’s off there at the edge being the small detail that completes the entire scene. This fragrance is two people: a belligerent douche bro who reeks of a cheap, trashy men’s frag meant only to convey a rugged sex appeal with zero nuance and a garishly made up party girl who oversprays the most girly of crowd pleasing designer frags she can find and layers with the most sickeningly sweet candy scented BBW body mist she can find (no shade, I’ve been known to drench myself in such a manner.) They meet on spring break at a poolside hotel bar. They immediately begin flirting in a drunkenly brazen way until she takes offense to something he says and dumps her strawberry margarita all over him. Ultimately, this just fans the flames of passion however because mere seconds later they are aggressively making out against the bar. This fragrance is basically a scene from Jersey Shore but rendered with Caravaggio’s capacity for thoughtful attention to detail and emotional perception into the lower aspects of humanity. A very unusual and comedic work of art but a fun and absolutely wearable one!

EASILY THE BEST MOST NATURAL STRAWBERRY GOURMAND I have tried. Another PG classic left field. Arrived with PG Paris Fidji. Both do as advertised. Pretty Much. Reviews are I feel harsh and ratings for silage skewed as I think people expect a perfume with this difficult type of smell to still smash people in the face like Terre D’Hermes or PDM. I sprayed it on 3 hours ago on one arm and Paris Fidji on the other - in the car all I could smell whilst driving was Mojito Chypre. I think it is a slightly anosomic performer. Initial spray is a huge burst of bright strawberry juice just blended with a huge waft of mint following after a minute. The strawberry starts softening and the mint - all very natural - rides the top and middle like the strawberry is its bitch. Then the lime takes over a bit. After 10-15 the mint gives up giving a slightly stewed strawberry with a slightly woody base and lime (just enough to subdue the sweetness and stop it being a complete children’s novelty scent and providing just enough depth to make it passably masculine). After 30-60 minutes it smells like a punnet of ripe strawberry’s with leaves unwashed maybe sitting on a fresh cut cedar plate. For most of the initial journey it succinctly in summary reminded me of a Stawberry Daquiri or maybe natural stawberry icecream just out of the freezer with some mint garnish that falls off at some point. The beauty of this scent is the natural content and the journey for a few hours. It’s a novelty for men but a good one at that if you like gourmand - especially for summer at the beach or a personal occasion. For the ladies if you like gourmand let alone strawberry this is a no brainer.

Oh I like it. The rum with all the citrus in the beginning is an immediate attractive accord. It almost smells incensy. Then it quickly morphs into the mojito vibe smelling of the juiciest pleasant lightly minted strawberry. It's just sweet enough but not too. It hums into the heart exuding moss and vetiver but it never becomes overbearing and a little more masculine leaning but still about to be unisex easily. Then it dries down into a sweet soft woody strawberry. I really really could see this becoming a favorite summer scent of mine. It's such a departure for the expected summer fragrance. I've never sniffed strawberry done so right without smelling juvenile. This is genius and so good.

Having worn it throughout this summer, Mojito Chypre has slowly gone from a like to a love. I would even say that there is an addictive quality to it. Mint and aldehydes are the most prominent notes to me. The fragrance is rather linear and it loses some of its crispness only after around 12 hours when it will have become a classic chypre fragrance. Mojito Chypre has a refreshing and cooling effect on my skin and its crispness is able to withstand the summer heat without losing power. This is the ideal scent for a summer music festival where it creates a bubble of freshness around you, blocking out the unpleasant odors that may come with large crowds in summer.

A perfume that evokes festive summer days, gives well-being and positivity! The whole atmosphere of beach parties and summer parties is captured in a perfume . An icy mint at the beginning, fresh and sharp and a juicy strawberry, give way to rum and noste musky and clean at the bottom. A cheerful and evocative perfume. Very beautiful. Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8./10 Scent: 9./10 Overall: 9./10

This will grow on you! For the best scent comparison it smells like herbal essences strawberry mint shampoo... truly unisex and so refreshing. Doesn’t smell like bathroom cleaner. Truly unique

This perfume to me smells like when you are in town and can smell a 'Lush' shop in the distance, whist chewing mint chewing gum- And i love it <3. Unique.

Fragrance in three words: Strawberry Mint Vetiver This reminded me a lot of a friend's Peppermint Candy Cane vape e-liquid. It has a candy strawberry which can't be mistaken for anything, but strawberry. The mint is more of a peppermint than spearmint and is as plasticy as the strawberry. I got a slight whiff of nondescript alcohol on paper, not white rum like just the pungency of grain spirit. As this evolves a medium-sweet lime comes through with some grassy vetiver and sweet, creamy vanilla. Sillage and longevity are both moderate with it projecting above hugging distance. Lasted around 5+ hours on skin. Value: UK Price (March 2021) is £144 for 100ml EdP and £99 for 50ml. These are standard prices for Pierre Guillaume's Croisiere range. It is midpricing for a niche fragrance with limited availability and about on par with Perris Monte Carlo fragrances. It's a like, but not a love. There's something tacky and fun about it which I like. I found it performed better in hot weather and was uplifting to wear, but I won't be purchasing a big bottle. Scores: 7 out of 10

That can't be a serious frag. Anyway.. After a beginning of true mojito and fresh mint, which smells a little of toothpaste & paint and takes approximately 5 minutes before disappearing, take fastly the field a sort of strawberry/raspberry/lime/lemon (with a touch of banana) mix that make me think so much to a chewingum & children bomb. Pleasent for preteens in soul or preteens straight away. A candy summer. Yes this choice can be a good idea for a different summer or for smell like a classic assorted fruit flavor candy by MENTOS which almost by sure will deemed a cause for copyright to mr. Guillaume. In one word: CHEWABLE! This creation totally reminds me Strawberry by The Body Shop that I have actually wore in summer 1992. I was virgin. P.S.: no oakmoss at all, this is chypre as Casmir de Chopard is.

to me this literally smells like those peppermint pillows (idk if this is an international candy, but its like extra sweetened peppermint). i dont pick out any real citrus tbh, and definitely not the lime thats supposed to be there. there is also almost a eucalyptus vibe that is lowkey offputting but at the same time intrigues me...

I think it's the mojito bit that I'm not getting. But I do get strawberries and chypre. So, I would call this a fruity chypre. The strawberries bit is excellent, I get very little mint, no booze, and a very fresh wonderful chypre drydown with hints of strawberry. Ideal for summer.

Strawberry crush - only this time it's the rampant fruit that's trampling all over me! This was never going to be an easy sell to me as fake-strawberry gives me a banging headache and simmering nausea, I hate 98% of aldehydes, can't deal with many classic chypres, and find mint a very tricky proposition indeed in perfume. So I was honestly expecting Mojito Chypre to be an absolute scrubber and, to give it its due, it was not. Once you've survived the overwhelming strawb assault of the beginning - (and it's huge: carefully done, so it does smell of juicy, fresh, floral real berries rather than plastic or erasers, but still miles and miles too sweet and sickly for my taste) there is a bit more going on. The mint and vetiver play nicely together, so beyond the giant pink monster strawberry screens there is a more grown-up, sharper, more astringent herbal scent waiting to follow it up. It could work really well as a cooling refresher for the right person on a hot day. But there's still just ... gah ... splashy, splattered gouts of strawberry puree absolutely *everywhere*. I just can't with it. But if berries are your bag and you want a summer scent, this may well be the fruit fantasy you're after.

This is an interesting one, it opens with a citric lime note and a minty strawberry, which interestingly comes across as just starting to turn/ferment strawberry. The heart pushes the strawberry harder, and it just keeps going. L’Oreal Kids Shampoo with Very Berry Strawberry flavour has a really similar scent profile, so one may consider the endless aromachemical mix is related. Overall the impression is of some kind of cheap fruity slaggy overstrong perfume, but this I think is all part of the genius of PG who must have authored this fragrance as some kind of ironic art parody as a statement against the lowest common denominator of cheap commercial perfumery. I mean, even the text of the release is brilliant, using sarcasm and wit to poke fun at the industry, “This perfume reinterprets fun on the beach ... from Ibiza to Miami”. I actually kind of love it, when I’m feeling cheap and sleazy this is my reach to bottle, so a big thumbs up. Only issue is the price, which is also a joke. But hey, this is niche man...

This is the olfactory equivalent of eating a packet of Strawberry Chewits followed by some Polo mints. It's unfair to say that there are no woody elements in the base - they are present, but I suspect that most who try this are so overwhelmed by the strawberry and mint that their noses have given up long before the dry down! Mojito Chypre is not unpleasant, and I enjoyed trying the sample, but I have no desire to smell like this.

After the initial exciting burst of fresh happiness, the scent quickly becomes a candy-like sweet mess with an-ill suited synthetic ambery base. I'm quite disappointed with this. It's way too sweet and not at all what the name "mojito chypre" would have indicated to me.

Brilliant, genius fragrance. Well done Guillaume for creating something very special here- without following current rose/oud, gourmand and sticky sweet trends (granted such trends are nonetheless fabulous). This boldly, zesty, icy cold, mint cloud of a unisex fragrance is pretty left of any male or female fragrance you would buy in high street stores. Very bespoke smelling. But the mint and citrus make it a very palatable summer fragrance. Mint specifically is used a great deal in popular, lighter, 'sportier' men's fragrances so I would confidentally wear this as a man but its softness does lend itself to a more feminine personality too. Once the top notes have settled, this fragrance is less offensive and is actually a luminous breath of fresh air fragrance-wise. Like interesting, light, longlasting citrus scents? Mojito Chypre by Pierre Guillaume is a hidden summer gem and I had to share my first impressions. This is a real unisex summer fragrance that feels like a beach party in a bottle. Imagine fresh mint, lime, and strawberry with a little boozy rum twist but not too sweet. The most surprising twist is how they took a classic chypre structure of moss, patchouli, vetiver and made it really playful. The fruity mojito top notes are exciting and bright but once they settle, you get this warm woody base that feels grounded and sensual. It really deserves more praise and recognition. Now for the practical stuff. It lasts all day on my skin. The scent trail is noticeable but polite, staying about one hand distance around you. And if you're like me and get migraines from heavy perfumes, this one is totally safe. It's refreshing, not sharp or cloying. Definitely a must have for summer. Unisex, fun and surprisingly elegant.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that this is the most adventurous of the five releases from PG’s new “teal” line, but I’ll also add that it’s the one that turned my stomach the fastest. It smells like a strawberry-tinged air freshener — harsh and enormously unpleasant. Camphorous pine provides a “just bleached bathroom” effect, and the strawberry is more tart and leafy than sweet and jammy. The result is medicinal and chilling, and it made me feel sick within minutes of application. There’s nothing chypre about this; it’s an astringent fruity aromatic, and if you’ve smelled 2013’s Cape Heartache, you’ll recognize it immediately. Horrifying.

Okay, so this was like, choice 14 or 15 in my 15 pack discovery scent pack, and it was more of a "just for laughs" choice, moreso because ANY time I've tried a 'lighter' booze-themed scent, I've been sooo disappointed. Don't get me wrong, this scent disappointed me with regards to it being booze-themed, but if you forget ALL of that, the mix of mint, strawberry an MFK-Oud-Mood labdanum is a WINNER in my eyes. It just works. I don't know how or why, but it all ties in well together. I will definitely need to give this a better, more concentrated 'try out' sometime again, but for now, it feels like a YES.

I'd be happy to wear this, in fact, I could even see myself paying money for it and even proudly displaying it, it's just that I have a few scents like this already that I prefer. Floral-sweet, fruity-yum and dry woody in parts, I like it, but it's not standing out. This far into my fragrance mass-trialling sentence, I need scents to GRAB me by the scruff. I have HUNDREDS of scents, even more bottles, and, well, you know. You gotta prioritise, you know? It's one of those things... Anyway, I do like this, and I will try this out a few more times, but I think it just might not be enough...

This has mint but it’s not fresh, it’s like sweets in a very good, interesting way. Too much could be overwhelming but it’s a heavy hitting powerful fun, sweet neutral gendered perfume. I have no idea why it makes me think of Baruti Berlin im Winter. There’s a headiness maybe. This is tough to review, not a blind buy, from the notes you might assume you like or dislike and it’s best tried. Quirky and skillful

A sugary junks of strawberry candies on a lemon coolaid or lemon slush and sometimes a strawberry mint cheap air freshener with a hint of lime. too cloying for my taste.

Moldy strawberries, latex balloons, soil and ice. And valerian root. Something oily/buttery too. Love it!!!
