Morning In Tipasa 7.2

Reviewing a bottle from 2025. Morning In Tipasa 7.2 was launched in 2021. This is an elegant fresh aromatic fragrance with some unusual ingredients. Morning In Tipasa opens with bergamot ,fresh mint and lemongrass on a backround of mediterranean pine, musk and Jujube tree honey. Not really sweet at all. There is also a salt accord. Beautifully blended. Quality-excellent Unisex Performance-excellent ; stays at arms length, lasts 8 - 10 hours. Although the fragrance is based on a book by Albert Camus, Tipasa is in fact a Mediterranean coastal town in Algeria, an old Roman site with spectacular beaches (hence the salt). The fragrance is smooth and refined, perfect for warm weather but has enough complexity at the base to wear year round. I thank Nicola for bringing my attention to this little known gem. 9/10

Absolutely beautiful, meditative and calming, lemongrass with mint but no sharp edges at all.

When I first tried my sample of Morning in Tipasa, it was instantly familiar to me, and after a moment I realized where I had smelled this sweet, refreshing, minty scent (or at least something very similar) before: in Imaginary Authors’ Saint Julep. This one is more complex, less bright and less sugary, and unfortunately also less long-lived, but they really are very much alike. Which means two things: it smells delicious, and I like it very much, but I don’t need it in my collection.

Notes on official website: Wild Lemongrass, Peppermint, Mediterranean Pine, Bergamot, Jujube Tree Honey. Me thinks spicy mint is not peppermint... Mint note is similar to the mint note in some of his other mint-centric perfumes. That is wild, heavy/intense and exhilarating. So, I don't think this a cologne type scent, or at least that's not how I perceive it. PG calls it 'hesperidic/ balmy aromatic'. I love the story behind it, but not sure when I'd wear it. It's too heavy for summer or daytime. I might try again in autumn. Performance is average.

This perfume genuinely impressed me on the store shelf and I bought it semi-blind. Well, the scent is magnificent, different to most of the other stuff I recently tried. However, the longevity is just a joke, one hour tops, two hours with a prayer. At this price tier and mostly - with these ingredients - it should have been much better.

Mint comes at you fast and fierce to open, a beautiful and true to life mint. It calms down and loses this robust freshness but I can't say that I get a lot of lemongrass, pine or honey. It's a light and clean cologne of bergamot with more of a hay quality than anything else listed. Maybe it's just the masterful blend that's tricking me, it is a thrilling and simple scent that's perfect for warm weather.

A refreshing scent that smells like an artisanal organic gingerale. It's even a little bubblegummy and reminds me of a less woody xerjoff decas.
