An honest coffee scent... I waited 8 months for PG to make another batch so I could order. Firstly, I love coffee and I love coffee scents. For me Mugler and all the usual suspects are just mass market average. As I’ve often stated and reviewed the most impressive, photo realistic yet wearable is House of Kerosene Follow Me - completely unbeatable (not subtle either) for performance in every respect and also manages to somehow transcend gourmand. It somehow stops people from also assuming you’ve spilt an awesome brewed coffee on your shirt and give you something that makes people sniff you wide eyed. So, having said that what makes this PG work for me? Well, this is the antithesis. It’s not super loud or commercial. It is a typical PG creation in that it is beautifully made and for what makes me a huge PG fan also unique. Unfortunately it is also like a lot of PG perfumes where despite this it is a bit hit and miss in technical performance regarding sillage and longevity - it’s not the worst at all but it requires more sprays than most to give me a scent bubble I like (as opposed to say PG Anti Blues which requires half). So, not an EDP to fill a room... Anyway, this one is the one I go to for a smooth photorealistic coffee scent. Unlike Follow Me which is a coffee journey from a Fresh espresso cuppa, to fresh ground beans, to bags of heshin full beans and an earthen coffee plantation this is simply a cup of dark super sugary Sweet hot molasses of Espresso with a smidge of dustiness. It’s a super high quality oil content - it is ultimately an intimate scent and your partner if they like coffee and are snuggling with you will love it and you for it...

I have decants of Kerosene Follow me and Akro Awake and have to tell that this one is different (thanks God). All three open with sweet coffee scent but Follow and Awake stay the same as in the beginning - coffee spray. But this one develops in an actual perfume, with soft woody vibes which make it perfectly wearable and fragrant. I really enjoy it, its a total coffee gem, it's not edgy as Follow and Awake, and not sugarbomb sweet. Awesome.

A summer coffee! A very smooth coffee fragrance, brightened and sharpened by ginger. Cardamom adds an extra layer of silky smoothness and depth. Light on the longevity, close to the skin after the first hour. This is similar to Akro Awake, just not as intense. Sambaka is subtler, refined, and less on the nose. The bottle is blue, not the liquid. The blue is ceramic injected between layers of glass, which sounds cool.

It’s very nice, but quite. In my opinion, Akro Awake is much better option with slightly louder cardamom. But overall it’s a very pleasant perfume, unisex, for cooler days.

Beautiful cardamom very realistic. Coffee there too but not too dominant I find in frags they generally just awake the senses and other notes. Nice woodsy too with a touch of zing.
