Staelios

I love this, and I hate to say it, but it reminds me so much of L'Air du Desert Marocain, just not as spicy. But it's like if you took that pure, very dry cedar note that Andy uses and pumped it way up, you would have Staelios. I really don't notice leather or pepper. I definitely smell davana! So yes, I love it, but it's because it reminds me so much of another fragrance I love. I feel bad saying that because I really respect PG's work. But this just goes all woody on my skin, and I already have LADDM.

Superb !! Magnificent, strong long-lasting and clean =soapy and fresh but a pinch of sweetness from davana and violet!!!

Very impressive scent and performance! I'm surprised there is no akigalawood among the notes (must be the exotic pepper then). It smells very contemporary and the idea of reviewer bellow about contrast of warm and cool is pretty accurate. It radiates confidence, modern elegance, it is kind of rich and clean at the same time. Very unisex, perhaps very far into the dry down could lean a tad more masculine, but in general it's a perfectly balanced unisex scent. Reminds (but is not a dupe) such hits as Ganymede or Bois Imperial. Performance is amazing! I personally kind of like it it, but this type of scent profile I enjoy on others more, it isn't a exactly my type of scent for me.

Ozonic leather, elegant but simple, fresh and masculine. A kind of invigorating office-friendly cologne for those not willing to smell with mainstream stuff like Aventus or Sauvage. I would not buy it for the price of expensive niche though. The look is also quite controversial: lovely bottle with an ugly sticker on it.

Opens with a strong cubeb pepper note with a davana bias, but then develops into an ambery, slightly powdery, slightly floral woodsy note—I though it was just amberwood with some nondescript floral but it turns out its violet wood! The Russian leather here doesn’t really click for me here, though it’s more of a very muted clean leather variant you’d find from Dark Leather by Molton Brown. Still, it isn’t very prominent and I’m not really a fan of having floral notes like this stick out but if you like the lightest leather with a woodsy floral (violet) twist this is worth a look at.

First off, I want to begin this review by saying this fragrance is probably one of the most unique leather scents on the market and I can guarantee that you have never smelled any leather scent like this before, and I mean that quite literally. Whenever I smell this fragrance Im instantly transported into another realm, where fantasy twines together with ordinary. Sailor merchants that have been transporting luxurious Russian reindeer leather were driven away by the tumultous sea and ended up on an mystical island where nature has left its marks. A tranquil leap of wind blows the davana and the pepper plants that have been freely swinging back and forth, spreading its aroma across the islands edges, captivating every passerby. The merchants, woken up from their aroma trance, decide settle on the island after seeing its beauty. The precious leather was transformed into hides that exude a bewitching aroma and radiant beauty. One day, while the merchants were exploring the island deeper, stumbling across a rare royal wood that released a pleasant smell, they suddenly heard fearful scream nearby, and when they went to check, they saw that their island invaded by vikings that sensed an inviting smell coming from the island. The merchants knew they were doomed, since they were outnumbered, but they decided to fight with all they have in order to protect their land. Swords clenching, heavy breath and roars, and the merchants were slowly losing their hope of winning, until, a fiery creature with the body of a horse covered in a layer of fire that shined bright like the sun appeared on the battlefield to help the people that have been protected the island. It was the horse of Helios, the Sun God that have been reigning over that island for eternity. Imagine this scene, slow piano strings are playing in the backround, each one of them interrupted by the horse's gallop, which he mastered with such artistry that even the enemies were stunned. Staelios successfully eliminates all the vikings and once again protects the liminal space between reality and fantasy that he calls home. If I could describe Staelios in one word it would be "ethereal". The combination of the rare leather, which isnt your usual soapy/dark leather, with the precious woods, that grant it a touch of lightness, and the spice undertone from Davana and Pepper turn this from a fragrance to an olfactory experience that you need to have at least once in your life. The bottle is beautiful aswell, a beautiful thin square shape made from purple and orange glass presenting an eye pleasing contrast, and the tag with the perfume and brands name is shaded in gold with a beautiful pattern resembling the sun. Black pepper and davana bomb. I think a little less Davana would have been better. This is a very nice scent. The leather note is very smooth and feels more like suede, the violet note here is more like violet leaf. Woody drydown with maybe some cedar? overall, this is a very smooth and elegant scent, that I can only imagine on a very handsome and rich man. I don't feel this suits me well, I am a very feminine woman. I would love to smell this on my husband.

Fresh woody notes up top, gin, juniper, leather Then I get chili spices, cumin, & bathroom cleaner before it dries down to something ozonic & rubbery... After an hour I get flat sprite, leather, & cumin. Very weird combo of notes.

As being one of the first people to have this gifted from Pierre Guillaume I can tell this is amazing, deep leather with woods and spices. But I also get some fruity aspects from this
