Tonka Bodykon 31

This is a strange one i had to re write my review after wearing a few extra days. What i realised is this scent clings on to skin and clothes very well and lasts around 12 hours with 4 sprays. Having said that it projects very mildly so u have to be an arms length to someone for them to smell it on you. The scent is sweet without smelling overly sweet, thanks to the rum note. the apple note is sweet red apple and it stays all the way in this scent. in the opening the apple and rum dominate. once it dries down then you get the tonka magic. the pistachio note is very light and creates a subtle green woody effect. the tobacco is a fresh clean tobacco here but again it's in balance and very light although not listed i can smell it this could be a mixture of notes creating this effect. A very sophisticated scent. best worn on cooler days and better suited for evening but can worn during the day. I have finally found my sweet winter scent that isn't sickly sweet. This is amazing but price is a little too expensive especially for the 50 ml at £95. i will get the 100 ml next time. This is a perfect unisex scent. at the start it is perfectly unisex, in the middle phase it leans ever so slightly feminine by a margin. then in the dry down after 4-5th hour it leans ever so slightly masculine. Added bonus this leaves a lovely creamy scent on clothing that u can sense for the next few days.

Tonka Bodykon is a softer Kilian Angels Share. Less of that boozy, rich, cinnamon spicy, caramelized apple confection, with brown sugar syrup. Tonka Bodykon is more like warm honeyed-caramelized apples with the same sweetness but much lighter and more natural, so honey makes sense. Liquor and spices aren’t that prominent. I also get a nice nutty pistachio and tonka bean which honestly lighten the scent and avoid a syrup-like texture making this profile wearable in the spring. I would never wear Angels Share outside of autumn and winter holiday seasons. This also reminds of a slightly more sweetened Guerlain Tonka Imperiale, sugared-roasted nuts, almonds, cashews from the carts in downtown Manhattan. Like a mix of Angels Share and Tonka Imperiale. The comparison to BDK Velvet Tonka makes sense because of the present note of tonka bean in both, but BDK is less sweet. However, I can see Tonka Bodykon being the result of layering all 3 compared. Moderate performance, I was lucky it didn’t become a skin scent on me.

Such a refreshing take on tonka, I bought this immediately after smelling it. I stepped out of the boutique to double check that my nose wasn’t betraying me. It does have some very small likenesses to Angels’ Share to my nose but not enough for me to vote for it in the “reminds me of” section. The apple gives this a bright crisp touch but not over the top, the honey makes it mellow and the rum isn’t overly boozy. This is a tonka that you can wear on a daily basis, it’s not too heavy nor light. It’s also perfectly unisex to my nose, and isn’t overly sweet. Lasts about a good 7-8 hours or a bit longer with moderate spraying. I’m sure you’d get more if you overspray. The projection is probably arms length.

Tonka as a note is hit or miss with me. Often it's almost a cool-sweet with a bit of vanilla, nothing special and, oddly, lacking depth. Tonka Bodycon is sublime. Notes are well blended yet each remain distinct so it's not too muddled. The tonka is sweet in a dried-fruit sort of way (but not cloying) , the rum is boozy (NOT as boozy as Angel's Share), the apple adds a bright fruitiness, and the pistachio adds a delicious nuttiness. This is a sultry fragrance-- I'd choose it for a night out at a high end restaurant. Edit: After more thorough testing, this is more versatile than I thought. I'd wear this casually on a chilly autumn day. It really reminds me of fall.

This is such a delicious full bodied vanilla fragrance. Each note adds to this cozy-cashmere-blanket vibe that overall feels perfect for nearly any season but is especially magical during the autumn & winter months. It is meant to be a skin scent, hence the "bodykon" in its name and really is a perfect date night scent. If you want it to be more apparent that you're wearing a scent, it layers beautifully with almost any scent. I've tried & loved it with the following: "Blossom Love" by Amouage, "Eilish" by Billie Eilish, "Love Tuberose" by Amouage, "What We Do In Paris is Secret" by A Lab on Fire and "La Belle Le Parfum" by JPG.

I can see why people say this smells similar to Angels' Share. AS is a beautiful fragrance - I love it and wear it often during fall and winter. But Tonka Bodykon is softer with less cinnamon. And it's smoother, more refined. I just prefer it. But the longevity isn't as great. Not necessarily a huge deal for me... since I'll reapply throughout the day and sometimes switch up what I wear. I started trying PG's fragrances a couple of years ago and I love a lot of the ones I've tried. And the ones I didn't love, I did at least like and appreciate.

Beautiful fragrance. Very sweet but fresh, slightly sour and spicy, citrusy and fruity in a jammy way .... It is so well blended that I tried to find and imagine these notes only because I’ve read them on the perfume box. If not, the picture of perfume would be only abstract —sweet hot drink in a yellow glass made for a beautiful lady by the starry night ⭐️✨🌟💫 P.S. reminds me SDV Guerlain and Mon Guerlain without lavender very much 🙌🏻 Good luck and be inspired 💋

Definitely boozy perfume. It's apple brandy. It is sweet but not as sticky as Angel's Share. Apple and nuttiness gives it crispiness and freshness. Tried side by side with Baraonda. I think I like Baraonda more, it's more complex. Tonka Bodykon is more linear and fresher in comparison and little weaker. Stays close to the skin. I like it a lot. Modern and unisex. Don't find it female leaning at all. Can easy wear during the day or night. Happy fragrance.

Genuinely sad that people recognise Killian's Angel Share & Apple Brandy and totally miss out on Bodykon by PG. An excellent skintight rhum iteration that is even heatwave and office friendly. I agree that projection is weak but longevity is top class as it lingers beautifully on the skin. My favourite element is how delicately the benzoin is mixed in, zero artificial harshness, only a warm, luminous aura.

one word: SEXY. this smells like killian's apple brandy but x1000 better! just a sexy rum apple pie. not cloying by any means and this is coming from a person that usually does not prefer gourmands. absolutely amazing perfume prepare to get compliments! lasts very long and projects well, although better suited for colder weather, it can be worn in spring and summer nights too. bravo to the perfumer

this is a golden potion... wonderfully blended, enveloping yet subtle. a warm, sweet skin-scent that sits so close. the soft apple note makes this magical. luminous benzoin, "lit from within". i apologise for the poetics, but this scent strikes a special chord for a folklore lover like me - apples, honey, spirits, resins. the stuff myth is made of. indulgent, intimate and plain lovely.

This opens with some sweet and fruity green apple notes drizzled in light honey and paired with creamy tonka bean. The tonka bean is ofc the star of the show here and its sweet facets are amplified by a softly sweet vanilla. The rum note adds some boozy warmth in the heart. The dry down has hints of the pistachio, it’s sweet and nutty, with remnants of the tonka and vanilla.

I don’t agree that this fragrance smells like mon guerlain or feve. I’ve never smelled anything quite like it and I want to smell like this forever. It is a bit Of a skin scent But I will happily overspray because it is incredible.

Simply addicting. Best sweet vanilla I've come across. Enticing, boozy, everything you want in a sweet fragrance. Unfortunate poor performance. I can forgive it though

OMG this fragrance is easily a perfect 10 out of 10!! Coming from someone who has over 670 bottles.... This is DIVINE

Subtle, not overpowering, doesn't project too hard but has decent longevity (7-8hrs).

My immediate impression: "This smells like a hot person". I'm getting a faint cherry blossom lipstick note, clean light ambery woods, and an amplification of my own skin's scent. The intimacy and skin-like aspect of this fragrance, I'm guessing, is where the "Bodykon" in the title comes from. It does sit very close, not much projection, but I am fine with that because it hugs me like a bodycon dress and makes me feel attractive. It's like an amber light glowing off your body. It's perfect for people who want to smell wonderful but not obviously perfumed. I kinda want it because there's a part of me that wants to be one of the "hot people", but it's not really "me". It reminds me of a more conventional type of beauty that is different than the vibe that I have.

In the beginning, I got something more like Ange Ou Demon Le Secret (2009) and then it morphed into Nirvana Bourbon. I both love and own those, so I'll pass. I can describe it as a bright, fresh, cranberry-like tartness upon initial spray, then a boozy vanilla afterwards. I've smelled Kilian's Angel's Share before and can see how the dry-down compares. I almost purchased Angel's Share last year after testing a manufacturer's sample spray vial for a few days, but it wasn't quite a like for me—though I will purchase for my 22 year old cuz she loves it! Just an fyi, whatever u get in the beginning of this fragrance is NOTHING similar to what you'll end up with. Test Le Secret (2009) and Bourbon, and u will smell for yourselves. Btw, I love the name: "Bodykon."

I don't think it smells like any of the perfumes listed in the reminds me of section. The green apple lifts it out of the too sweet category the honey and rum put it in. I was pleased with how light, yet present it is when applied. A "fresh" tonka, so to speak. A slightly sweet (honey) boozy amber, with the warmth of tonka and pistachio, The vanilla and benzoin giving a nice depth but still letting that apple tinged tonka have the spotlight. Very nice, easy fragrance to wear.

Reminds me of La Danza delle Libuelle, which I slightly prefer. The apple is less fresh than that one, and the cinnamon is more pronounced, though still very subtle. It's more syrup-y though, evoking the sauce of apple pie filling more than the apples or the actual dessert itself. Unfortunately I do not find it naturalistic enough to really pull the concept off. It doesn't blend with my chemistry as I hoped, instead just kind of sitting there. Performs well at least.

I enjoy it, maybe buy a full bottle. It's a warm comforting scent. I almost feel like I smell a little cherry in it. It is boozy, you definitely smell the rum in it but it isn't awful or smelling like you just walked out of a bar imo. Not similar to angels share, as that is definitely more apple pie cinnamon boozy, this is just like wrapped up in a warm blanket boozy 😂

Incredibly delicious and boozy vanilla, imbued with spices. Smells like cherry in the beginning. The projection is minimal, making it an excellent choice for gourmand lovers to wear in "scent-free" environments. It's been 2 hours since I sprayed it, and it has nearly faded away :(

Reminds me - a lot - of By Kilian's Angel's Share, but without the booziness. I really like Angel's Share, but are not always in the mood for the boozy vibe. This would be a good replacement for those times. Don't think I will need a FB, but maybe a decant or some testers.

Definitely smells to me like a crossover of angels share and what we do in Paris Is Secret. I like it, but I prefer the others! If wwdipis was ever discontinued, I think I would buy this one to fill that niche.

It seems to me there has to have been a mix-up on the ad copy--there's nothing 'fiery' here. That said, this is an enjoyable tonka/vanilla close-to-the-skin scent.

I get a lot of Angels Share at the beginning. Maybe not as loud as Angels Share and a more muted version.

I really like it, and it is very similar to Angel's Share, but the durability is unfortunately weaker.

Super soft, almost powdery comforting vanilla. Very cozy. Nothing groundbreaking.

Inoffensive if underwhelming. To anyone thinking of spaffing 200 euros on the sample set. I did, and I have now tested 25 of them, and there are like three that I didn't rush to scrub off after 10 minutes, so I now officially regret this purchase. The ones which are OK are just OK, and the wonder is fleeting. I can only assume the ingredients are cheap. The quality reminds me of Maison Margiela, which I find to be sort of budget level too, albeit it high prices for the quality

This scent is above all, a comforting one. It is very soft and that’s the problem I’ve had with many fragrances from PG. The notes are quite nice though... kind of a mashup of baby powder and play-doh on me. I think it’s good for those who love scent but have to be careful around other people. I wouldn’t sample again or buy a bottle but if you like the notes I’d encourage a trial. It’s unusual.

Boozy green apple with a smidge of vanilla - that's what I smell from this fragrance. It feels as if it could lean just a little masculine, but it's most definitely a unisex fragrance. I couldn't see myself purchasing this because after a while it smells like gasoline but I know that's the rum punching through. It's a beautifully made fragrance - just not for me.

I'm not a big fan of rum so that influences me here. But this to me smells like fruit rum cake. More a home candle scent. For me gourmands have to be done in a more interesting way than this style. Home candle scent for the holidays.

YUCK! Not for me! I didn't realize I would dislike tonka like that, as it is in many of my other perfumes, but always as a base note and mixed with other base notes, not a main note as it is here. I just get cigarette/tobacco/dirty ashtray and a strong, overpowering cinnamon type smell...and all way too strong! A huge scrubber for me. I highly suggest testing before buying.

Ooof! This smells like straight up antifreeze!

The granddaughter of the second cousin of Angels' Share, only here the apples in the pyramid are real, not imaginary, and at first, there are three tons of them. This perfume is cozy and boozy (golden rum with spices), comfortably sweet, one can almost fell almond (tonka beans) and has very apple-like (green apples from Granny Smith) soreness. I didn't get any pistachios, although I really hoped to get some. As for honey, there is maybe one teaspoon per three kg of apples. And although, unlike in Kilian's Angels' Share, there is no cinnamon in the pyramid, tonka beans clearly work for both here. When the apples are slightly worn down (but not gone for good ), a beautiful base of benzoin and tonka starts to smell much better. It is more rounded and voluminous, but less spicy and wooden than Kilians' Angels' Share. The durability is three times less than that of the latter.

Tonka Bodykon is an autumnal, spiced apple and amber fragrance - in the same neighborhood of fragrances like By Kilian's Apple Brandy, Hermes' Ambre Narguille, PDM's Oajan, etc. It's a fragrance profile that I am not at all interested in, but I think Tonka Bodykon is pleasant and competently executed. The best part is a very convincing crisp, green apple note that lingers for quite a while. The fragrance is lightly sweet, not syrupy and heavy, though it's still too gourmand for me to want to wear for any extended period of time. The tonka note is pleasantly warm, buttery, and nutty. I will also give it credit for not smelling synthetic. Performance is quite good. Completely unisex. I also really like the name!

Boozy, spiced, sweet apple dessert of a scent. The vanilla and tonka are very prominent, this is similar to Ambre Narguile, Oajan and Angel's share but a lot lighter and easy to wear. The apple note feels both fresh and cooked at the same time, like if you could experience a crunchy fresh cut apple note in the beginning, but in the drydown you get a caramelized, honeyed, baked apple tart note. The resins are very mild here. I don't get any nutty notes on my skin. Very nice. I even asked my husband to try it. I think this needs to be in my wish list.

I love this one! Sweet tonka and fruity goodness! 🥰 It's going on my to buy list for the colder months. It's neither harsh or sharp. Soft, rounded, balanced, but sweet. Very cozy skin scent. I get a lot of tonka, vanilla rum (it's not too boozy and alcoholic, just the sweet parts of rum) honey, apple on my skin, the other notes round it out.

This reminds me of a 90s commercial fragrance that i cant quite put my finger on. Angel by Mugler? Lolita Lempicka? I cannot remember at all. Smells commercial. A tonka artifically sweetmaxxed but made airy and stripped of its body, roundless, plushness. Just cloyingly sweet and airy/clean with the most inconsequential drop of tonka.

I find this scent quite enjoyable with its generous dose of tonka, only the longevity is not great. The boozy apple, vanilla and amber really stand out at first. I get a bare whisper of honey throughout. It evolves quickly and the tonka fully takes command. Not long afterwards, it fades to a soft skin scent. I wish it lasted longer.

Boozy apple and honey reminiscent of Angels Share, however, this is more balmy possibly a bit more refined in my opinion. Angels Share is in the gourmand realm and Tonka Bodykon is boozier. Lasts a really long time. I don’t think one is better than the other, it’s personal preference.

This has quickly become my #1. It's like a better, more refined version of Kilian's Angels Share. This one is much smoother. Apple, Caramel, Rum, a little boozy. It's all there. My only complaint is longevity. I get maybe 4 hours out of it. But im in love with this.

This perfume is BOOZY. I’m shocked at the reviews that disagree because it is that dominant on my skin. I feel like it smells like a sticky bar counter and maraschino cherries. Not a safe blind buy, definitely sample first.

First impression - less boozy, less woody, with amplified green apple version of Angels' Share. Apple is green and it's a fresh apple, not a pie. rum is present, but you won't smell like an alcohol drink.

This would be a nice fragrance if it wasn't a photorealistic copy of the smell of British sanitary pads
