Vetiver Matale 6.1

This is definitely a masculine cologne and not something I would wear but I've had it on all evening and it's really nice, interesting and long lasting. I would love to smell this on a man. I don't smell the tobacco or honey. Weirdly, I get citrus and vetiver. The vetiver is a sunny vetiver rather than a dark acrid one. I agree with henri345que that it isn't anything particularly unique. Just a very solid scent.

Some really good pure essence of Bourbon vetiver, warm and silky with the barest hint of smokiness, blended with green tea leaves and blond tobacco absolute.

The most underrated fragrance, Bourbon vetiver with green tea opening is so unique and well done. Amazing!

I agree with other reviewers : this doesn't reinvent the vetiver genre. So depending on what you already have in your collection, this could feel redundant. I already own many vetivers, but lucky for me, I always feel like there's room for one more. I like Vetiver Matale very much; to me it feels brighter than some of my all-time favorites like Encre Noire and Sycomore (=the citrus-bergamote notes), less harsh than Vetiver Veritas and Sel de Vetiver (=the tobacco-honey notes), more uplifting than Grey Vetiver, easier to wear than some of the less traditional vetivers (like Vetiver Oriental), but not as radiant as my first love : Vetiver Extraordinaire. Bref : I think Vetiver Matale is pleasant enough, and if you're looking for a polite vetiver to start your work day, you could not possibly go wrong with this one.

A nice, semi-sweet vetiver, rounded out and easy to wear. The heliotrope is new to my novice nose, and a unique vetiver is a rare thing. This is someone’s perfect vetiver. Smells high quality.

This is a warm vetiver that isn't dry or cold, but nutty and comforting like the feeling you get when nestling up at home on a cold day.

Starts off with a beautiful combo of Matale black tea and blond tobacco, followed by vetiver. My only objection is that the tea-tobacco combo starts strong but disappears relatively quickly, and so all I'm left with is the vetiver. it's a great vetiver note, but one-dimensional. Longevity should have been longer. I only get 5 hours.

I adore vetiver and tried lots of vetiver fragrance, this is one of the best! Exactly how I like vetiver to be used! A little bit of booze would have been perfecf in this but overall a very nice vetiver fragrance. 8/10
