Yuzu Ab Irato 09

Whilst many community members call it harsh at the opening, for me it always feels soft and joyful. It evokes bright and unblemished memories of my childhood, when I was a 6 year-old munchkin sipping Sprite for the first time in my life. Beginning as a minty soda pop, Yuzu ab Irato reincarnates as a Russian middle lane: dusty summer road with lindens and birches gathering sideways and a bare touch of flowers grown up by a typical babushka: roses, hiacynths, peonies and many other names only a nature lover will remember. It lasts long and does not disturb. And definitely suitable not only for summer time: I can easily imagine it to be worn during the harshest winter nights, since memories may warm us up at any season. Try it on, but don't treat Yuzu ab Irato as the ultimate entertainer. It is not the actor performing for you but an invitation to reflect.

This is so good. Starts with refreshing, tangy yuzu and later makes a seamless transition to powerful, herbal thyme. The mint is in the background giving a cool blanket to the whole.

Sharp, straightforward and honest citrus that passes tart flowery stage and develops into surprisingly warm woody smell. In fact, the drydown was so different, I couldn't believe it was the same fragrance and had to check twice. More than worth tolerating the strong "I just cut a lemon in half" opening, especially seeing as it passes pretty quickly. Staying power around 5 to 6 hours, shorter in warm weather. On clothes developes to drydown and stays for a long time(sprayed my trenchcoat and kept getting occasional whiffs for more than a week). I would reccomend it for woody citrus lovers, but approach carefully and don't buy without testing!

What's in a name? Or a category for that matter. What if they just said: citrus cologne. Would that be too obvious? And yet, that's exactly what it is: a cologne in the manner of an Aqua di something something. It's really nice btw. The yuzu note is wonderful, and very crucially long lasting. That's rare these days. It is followed by mint, pepper, and mostly thyme (surprised nobody mentions this). So, citrus, herbal cologne. It ends with creamy musk. See, a perfectly nice and lovely cologne. it's on my list for future bottle. Performance is average, but for a cologne it's great. See what I mean by getting the category right...

Sharp harsh opening, but dries to a nice yuzu and peppermint combo. Not for everyone, I did not like this to start but has grown on me. On the line between masculine and feminine. Projects well but does not last too long. I like it, but I can see why many do not!

It reminds me of Comme de Garcons (the first one from year 1994) - but later it becomes very citrussy...interesting but not really "captivating".

This fragrance is way more herbal than I anticipated, and unfortunately it has a strong mothball quality on my skin. It's not stinky, but it's not at all sexy or refreshing. It smells like the dealer at an antique shop sucking on a wintergreen lifesaver while wiping down the counter. I wish it was a little sweeter and tarter but instead it's bitter. I don't really get a citrus quality at all.

As a fan of Yuzu Pour Homme, I can't but compare the two. This one leans much more toilet cleanery and synthetic smelling, and costs more than twice as much. Hard pass.

It starts with fresh mint and a ton of yuzu, a little too sour and harsh. After a few minutes the pepper makes its entrance and as weird as it sounds, for a little while I couldn't tell this apart from frankincense if my life depended on it. From there it settles into a strange smoky-herbal smell with a sweet-floral undertone and still a hint of sour citrus. Halfway in I managed to detect the bamboo hidden someplace in there and once I even got a quick whiff of hyacinth. Apart from that I'm lost. It lasts about 6 hours on my skin. I expected Yuzu Ab Irato to be interesting - which it surely is - but I'm afraid that doesn't equal nice in the slightest.

This is strange and I can't say that I'm enjoying this too much. It opens extremely citrusy and lacks mint what I was expecting for, when it more develops citruses are even stronger, only magnolia appears a bit and all the compostion becomes even a bit sour. I too think it can be unisex, but this is definetely not the best floral green and not the best Parfumerie generale has to offer.

Ooh no. This is fairly awful on my skin. It starts off with minty wet wipes/sharp detergent aromas, as described by others, followed closely by a very strong smell of sage. I know it's not listed as a note, but that's what I'm getting. I smell like an opened box of turkey stuffing mix.

It reminds me of L'Heure Bleue by Guerlain, but less powdery, and more sweet, and a little sharper. The initial familiarity brought good memories, but within the hour this became too sweet and overbearing. I couldn't imagine wearing it in warm weather. I had to wash it off.

Quite horrible fragrance, I'm sorry. Smells on me like dust and cleanser. And it doesn't get better with drydown.

Starts with sharp toilet cleaner spearmint and settled into what can only be described as dog poo for the rest of the day - not for me.

I am back in the USSR, where Lancome (?) and Novaya Zarya collaborated and issued Eau Jeuene EDC in 0.5-L bottles. The whole USSR smelled it, both men and women. It was so good. This one is the same but made with better materials, higher quality, more complexity and more luxury. And yes, somewhere in the very bottom, there is a little crumble of smelly poo, which strangely comes and goes. It does not add dirtiness to the fragrance, but it feels like the 25th frame effect.

Starts out like a classic airplane wet wipes-smell. Nothing wrong with that, I like that smell, but it's not very special. For reference starts out very similar with Eau des 4 voleurs from L'occitane. But suddenly and luckely it developes to something more complex; a, round, sweet, "yellow" smell. The drydown is a kind of wonderful woody smell. I would say this is a unisex perfume.

This smells like lemon fizz candy and mouthwash, though not bad, i don't mind it as a morning scent, it really goes with the morning fresh feeling. But it is more of a fresh out of the dentist's chair or shower kind of feel than a perfume. You can get this scent from a good brush and a lemon-drop for a fraction of the price.

The initial blast of PG09 Yuzu Ab Irato is very citrussy, with an almost medicinal feel. I mostly agree with Boggi's comments in that the dry-down of this fragrance is yellow-lemony and woody... The bamboo comes out in the latter stages, and I also think it has a unisex appeal to it. Lasting power is not that great.
