Ad Libitum

You can set any good citrus chypre before me and I will lavish in it with vigor. Woe betide the unfortunate soul who speaks ill of such a radiant and elegant style in my presence. My heart skips a beat over such a scent that exalts citruses with neroli and florals on a bed of woods, moss and musk. It's the smell of spring into summer, sartorial acumen and elegant temperament. Ad Libitum ("at one's pleasure") is an impeccably harmonious take on this classic approach. Bitter, zestful citrus, elevated with aldehydes, leads to orange blossom water neroli and a soft-focus jasmine, its headiness shaded by cedar. Here, I get a similar sensation to that Patricia de Nicolaï's magnificent Odalisque. Then what follows in the inky, misty mossy trail (yes, oakmoss accords are alive and well). My regards to perfumer Jakub F. Hiermann for creating something so beautifully articulated and compelling. Recommended for mature audiences.

Donning these perfumes earns me a plethora of compliments from both women and men. They possess something remarkable, something that made me instantly fall in love with them. They present the perfect blend of sophisticated citrus-aldehyde-earth notes with subtly sweet floral ones. This combination crafts a fragrance that exudes an unquestionably masculine and luxurious aroma. The overall olfactory experience is undeniably captivating, serving as a testament to the masterful artistry that has gone into creating this outstanding fragrance. Each note seems to harmonize flawlessly with the next, painting a picture of refinement and opulence. Unquestionably, these perfumes are an ode to the modern man who values a scent that stands out from the crowd, while remaining deeply rooted in timeless elegance.

When I first wore it, I wasn’t sure about it, but then I wanted to wear it again. It stands out, but in a good way. Not your typical fragrance but it is more for people who like to wear something unique.

I get why people might not like it but for me that's exactly why I love it.

This is a gentleman in his 70+. Strong on oakmoss. Bitter citrus/neroli. Heavy musk. The whole house of Chezh&Speare are of this style.
