Tiptoeing Through Chambers of the Moon

Wow, I have to say that I really did not expect to like this perfume and was a little blown away when the notes hit my nose! I am a perfume newbie, but will try to explain how I experience this to my best ability anyway. Normally I prefer gentle scents that are warm, but not too spicey. This baby starts off quite intensive, almost nausciating and head-aching, but I kept stuffing my face in there for more because it was so unlike anything I've smelled before. I agree that it is dark and powerful, but to me it is sweet and comforting at the same time. I actually am a girl who carries Tarot cards and crystals in her purse, and I thought that description is very right on for this perfume. It is mysterious, a grown up scent that I picture on a woman who knows and trust herself. And yes, not for the faint-hearted. Still, I cannot stand anything too heavy and happened to love this, so it might be worth a try if it happens to go with your chemistry :) I can not detect anything remotely like toothpaste or farm supply store on my skin. I actually think it smells expensive and exclusive on me, and far from boring!

This scent is simply amazing; I'm surprised at the poor reviews. After receiving and sniffing my samples from Luckyscent, this was the one that was tugging at my shirtsleeves and whispering, "wear me first!" From the bottle, it's almost sticky with notes. Once on my skin, however, the tuberose, patchouli, spices and amber, combined so well that I couldn't stop sniffing myself. I love that there is no musk in this, which most every nose seems to think is an imperative base note in their perfumes. "Tiptoeing Through the Chambers of the Moon" is indeed, "dark and enchanting" as Jessmoberry put it. This is what the Forbidden Forest smells like. If you kissed a unicorn, this would be the scent of her nose. In all of this dark enchantment, there's an underlying lightness that makes me think of fireflies in the woods at midnight. And I adore fireflies in the woods at midnight. I'll definitely be purchasing a FB of this beautiful, enigmatic fragrance. Sillage is excellent, and three drops lasted on my wrists all night into the morning (and lightly scented my pillowcase as a bonus), until I showered. WIN!

My attraction to this smell was immediate, intense and purely driven by a childhood association. My mother must have burned a candle that smells like this back in the 70s, because both my sister and I had the same reaction to it. It conjures a place that we both wanted to return to. It’s amazing how our perceptions of these fragrances change based on our associations. So instead of hippie head shop, it summons a warm, safe space from a long ago, forgotten time of wild innocence. A definite all time favorite, but needs a light hand or it’s completely overbearing and lasts for an eternity.

This is a wonderful scent. The Tuberose is magical and what really enfluenced my purchase of this gem. There is also an abundance of insence as well. There is feel of hippie to it (which is right up my alley) its etheral and and intoxicating. So glad I bought it and the price ladies and gents is VERY reasonable!

They sent me 3 tiny samples and I fell in love immediately. I bought all the fragrance notes and made my own incense with them. In my top 30 scents of all time.

I am heartbroken that I live in Portugal and can't seem to find a place that delivers here :( Can anyone resell it to me?

Floral,creamy,rich,full-bodied and sexy,powerful and long-lasting.What more could any woman want? I absolutely love it.

Just received my sample of this today and WOW!!! I LOOOOVE THIS FRAGRANCE!!!!! All incency and sexy. Im weading it to bed tonight then out and about tomorrow. But suffice it to say I will most definately be buying this one and the lotion for layering. It truly doesnt take much to make a big impression while wearing this beautiful perfume. Sample testing:-) I DO like it, deep, warm, such a "churchy" like smell, I guess from the incense! Lingering like a cream on my skin, not sure if lasts that long on me but I would buy a full bottle :-) 8/10

I didn’t want to believe my nose, so did two tests on this, both of which were pretty much the same. It starts out with a very odd set of notes. My guess about the floral part was tuberose, which proved correct, but there are also other things in there, things that aren’t mentioned in the notes, or in any of the reviews that I looked at after forming my first impression. What I smell is civet, a lot of civet. Way too much civet, and it’s not the good kind. It may be mixed with castoreum and a little indole. There’s something about it that reminds me of being in a farm supply store- a definite inorganic fertilizer note. Thankfully the whole mix is not super-strong, but it’s annoying. Maybe all of those trendy celebrity-type people who allegedly love Tiptoeing are into smelling like bags of fertilizer festering in a hot warehouse, or else they buy it just for the silly name and the feather decoration on the bottle, but I’ll pass, thank you.

Got a sample from LuckyScent and have to say it might be the strangest scent I have ever smelled. And not in a good way. Opening, it reminded me of toothpaste, more than anything else, but a lot more offensive. It mellows out, so it is not quite so ghastly after the first 20 minutes, but that is faint praise indeed. Sorry, Pilar and Lucy.

Where is the tuberose? And where is the amber? I don ́t find any spice either... actually I don ́t find anything at all in this fragrance, boring and not very well put together. Save your money, dont even bother to samples this. I cant at all understand how anybody could like this fragrance?

Pure, 100% hippie, Topanga Canyon new-age shop incense. Too linear on me, but I can see why people like it; it's pleasing in the same way fragranced candles are.

I smell looots of tuberose here.It reminds me a lot of Fracas and Mahora .It is something between these two.lasting power very good

Pilar & Lucy seems to be a niche house rather keen on producing sweet and youthful fragrances. With the fun yet lengthy names and eccentric bottle designs, I can't see why any young girl wouldn't want to add a Pilar & Lucy scent to her collection. Tiptoeing Through Chambers of the Moon is almost as sweet as a lollipop, with syrupy amber and a somewhat medicinal opening of cinnamon and star anise. On my skin, the tuberose, although faintly present, is not the most dominant note. If anything, this fragrance is quite ambery, with a rich and sweet incense drydown. The perfume oil may be very different to the EDP. In the EDP, Tiptoeing Through Chambers of the Moon is really sweet. So sweet that some may find it nauseating. Once settled, the heart and drydown resembles Jessica Simpson's Fancy in some ways. I have to be in the right mood to wear this fragrance, only because the sillage is strong and the sweetness a little juvenile. I felt the same way about The Exact Friction of Stars, also by this house. Either way, whenever I do wear it, I enjoy it immensely, particularly on a cold Winter's night. For me personally, Tiptoeing Through Chambers of the Moon isn't the best interpretation of tuberose and amber. I am yet to test the perfume oil, but from what I've read, it's far more impressive than the EDP. This fragrance was a big like, but not a love.

I put it on at 8am. The tuberose jumped out. It quickly softened from a sharp sweet smell to fresh. Then, after a while as it warmed I swear it smelled like carmel corn. It just kept getting softer and softer until by 9:30 (am) it was gone. I put on some more and it seemed to keep more of the fresh tuberose, but it was still gone by the afternoon. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but I would not buy it.

I dont understand this perfume. I cant find amber or tuberose, just a really strong cardamom or cinnamon. I can also find insence in here. I must admit I had to rub it off my skin after an hour, so this one is not for me. But if you are a lover of really strong spices, try this one. I has amazing staying power too. Lasted on my skin long time after washing.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely despise the smell of patchouli but I don't detect that headache inducing kind here. This IS incense-y and headshop like but there is a sweetness that saves it for me. Not FB worthy for me but I will use my sample

I like this scent, but it doesn't always like me. Sometimes it is smooth and incense-like; warm and mysterious. Other times all I smell is salty tuberose and I must scrub it off! Not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.

I like it, but I will also say it smells exactly like a local head shop. I agree that it's hippie-girl-chic all the way. Also, this stuff packs a powerful punch. It'll stay with you. I still have most of the sample. PM me.
