Clubman Reserve Whiskey Woods

I've been using this aftershave for a few years now and absolutely love the scent profile. I can use this all year long and not think twice about it. I'm 6'2" and close to 300lbs and this scent matches my big, proud, Texan persona better than anything else I know. It just screams sexy, hard-working man. Hahaha I like and use classic blue fragrances like Sauvage, BDC, etc., and really like Eros Flame and Gaultier Le Beau Le Parfum. But if I could find an EDP with longevity that matches Whiskey Woods, I'd be in heaven. I thought maybe Givenchy Gentlemen Reserve Privée might be worth a shot, but it didn't match like I'd hoped. It's a great fragrance too and glad I bought it, but it's not the same. If you have a suggestion to match Whiskey Woods, please let me know. Thanks!

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 165 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased September 2019 There's a strong powder note, almost cloys throughout but I love it. Quite a woody talc, not so much whiskey, unless the whiskey's alcoholic layer is the strong part all along. Anyway it's gotta be my least favourite of the recent Clubmans. Gent's Gin and Brandy Spice are better.

One of my favorite After Shaves. The other is Giorgio Beverly Hills Giorgio For Men After Shave. ( also the cologne is excellent too. Get the bottle with the darker juice. Not the green juice) It is old school as many put it. It is however an After Shave. Not a cologne . At least I don't think they made a Whiskey Woods cologne version.

Although the accords section mentions it, the pyramid doesn't list any obvious spicy notes. In case anybody is wondering, it has spicy Cloves (Eugenol) and Cinnamon (Cinnamal) notes.

Very cheap frag, comes in a plastic bottle, as is the signature mark of all Pinaud Colognes, except the bouquet is not so cheap, it actually smells very nice. The woody, whiskey, tobacco and bergamot are cleverly mixed to introduce a complex, somewhat soapy bouquet that is very old school and tremendously generic. Nothing niche or mysterious here, just a wonderful old school fragrance that lasts a few hours and is to be treated as an aftershave rather than a designer fragrance, for which it's truly brilliant. Pick up a bottle or two, you won't be disappointed, great value for money price point! I decant into plastic atomizer bottles for better application, as I hate splash-ons!

This is good stuff despite the plastic bottle and low price! It reminds me a lot of a retro masculine scent from the early to mid-Sixties; it has a bit of an Old Spice vibe about it in that it smells classic. It was a blind buy for me, and I normally never do that, but at less than $10 a bottle who cares? Great value! It's marketed as an after shave. I'm a wet shaver, so I slap this stuff on after I scrape my face and do that Kevin-in-Home-Alone thing. Yes, it stings. But it's a good kind of sting. It puts me on a continuing trail of masculinity pioneered by men of the past who used to do this. (My father did. He was a fan of Williams 'Lectric Shave.)

At first impression, @tessture and @SPNKr are spot on regarding the powdery, woody, masculine, vintage barbershop scent. Basically, most of the fragrance notes are indiscernible. It's not until the dry down (it doesn't take long hence, the weak longevity) when the key notes of spicy bergamot, the woody talc, and undoubtedly the whiskey (not Canadian rye however) with a pinch of tobacco leaf, come through in their subtle shine. Overall, it's a good and passable scent (and wifey agrees), but there's better in the Clubman series.

Better than I expected. I had the talc 1st & returned it ( texture was awesome ) but the scent wasn’t there. This aftershave smells fantastic. It’s blended smoothly, doesn’t really have that generic Mens aftershave smell to it. Ol’ school w/ a dash of modern from the bergamot + whisky 🥃 combo. The tobacco isn’t all that noticeable to me, probably plays in w/ the subtle sweetness at dry down. Smells how a man SHOULD smell like.. not like these feminine bubblegum young men these days.! Enough said.

Slapped this on for the first time and immediately thought of my dad. He wears paul sebastian cologne. The fragrantica notes don't match, and everyone's nose is different, but in my opinion they are damn near identical. If you like this scent and want it in cologne strength, I'd highly suggest checking it out. It's fairly cheap too.

Masculine notes (wood, tobacco, whisky), but too sweet, at least in my humble opinion.

My husband swears by Clubman! He uses 3 of the aftershaves regularly, Whiskey Woods being one in his rotation. Also, he loves the talc. He uses the talc several times per day--very heavily. Everything in our bedroom and bathroom is covered in a dusting of talcum powder. No one would believe how much of this he uses. He smells great though! The woody notes and the bergamot combine creating a fresh, yet masculine fragrance--at an affordable price. He combines two aftershaves, in a spray bottle, as his base layer of fragrance; spritzing it first, before he adds powder, fragrance oil, then cologne. I think Whiskey Woods is a great value, and a nice modern take on the classic Clubman. A great blindbuy, especially for an older gentleman.

This stuff is absolutely great. A woody tobacco leaf that is definitely sweet (see MrSpengler's review, below me), like one of my other favorites, Frank Boclet Tobacco. My barber hits this on me, the powder, after the shave and it slaps and I just got a fresh cut ... This made me pull the trigger. Need to find me some, 100% A+ masculine fragrance. edit: just purchased the 6oz aftershave to add to my daily shave routine.

I was hoping for a more unisex blend here, but it's not. This is a soft, almost powdery barbershop masculine scent, but vintage, like something from 1910. It's reeally warm and comforting, and I keep sniffing it, but while I wear a lot of men's or unisex scents, this one is 100% male.

Great sweet woody smokey whiskey aftershave. The one with the most character out of the line.
