Acadian

As someone who is native to the Acadian peninsula in New Brunswick Canada, this perfume really nails the atmosphere of my homeland. From our vast forests to our coastal landscapes, it even evokes some of our history. I'm really thankful to even be getting any kind of representation, but having it come from my fragrance hobby is a treat. Personal connection aside, this is a great fresh green and "nippy" cold fragrance with a lot of character. I'll deduct one point simply for the fact that one specific note in this can transalte to rubber for some people. It genuinely doesn't for me but YMMV. This house rarely misses and if you enjoy this one you should definitely check out their other offerings. 9/10.

First couple seconds are FUNKY, but then it mellows out to a seaweed, grassy/green, salty, coniferous smell. After several hours, even the coniferous smell faded to reveal a salty scent that reminded me of being on a nice beach. A bit more masculine than I go for myself, but a nice fragrance nonetheless. I may see if I can get my husband to wear it instead. Edit: I tried this again and realized it was not in fact too masculine. The beginning is still funky, but I’m getting a lot of greenery and salt spray this time. Very pleasant.

This scent is an all timer for me. It's a brilliant oceanic green scent that takes me to the coast of Alaska, with bright pine and seaweed. It's super refreshing and picturesque. My only real critique is that it is super fleeting, maybe an hour or two before it fades pretty much completely, but it's delightful while it lasts.

So green in the best way! Very seaweed when fresh sprayed. The drydowns like freshly cut grass. so lovely and homey.

I’ve lived in Bar Harbor ( home of Acadia national park) for a while now. When I received this perfume during the winter it felt unrecognizable. But after working in the park this summer- I see it. The sweet and biting smell of morning fog that wafts off the ocean and brings back to life boundless heaps of moss and lichen when it reaches the shore, and the wildflowers that tend to linger in the Maine woods until very late summer. If it smells pickley like someone else mentioned, just give it some time to rest. My friends told me it smelled like olives when I first sprayed it- reader, it no longer smells like olives. My only critique is completely personal- many of these notes individually have no home in Acadia national park, like the yuzu and eucalyptus, but I suppose that’s the danger of naming a perfume off a specific landscape. Even so, it paints a beautiful picture of a wildflower field by the ocean, bordered by the forest- maybe not specifically Acadia or even Maine. I still can’t help but imagine if this scent had more of the scents that really bring me back to summer in the park like sweet fern, blueberry leaf, and balsam! I imagine it is not easy to get your hands on absolutes for most of those scents though. I have to give credit to the golden rod which /is/ included in this fragrence, and grows in every nook and cranny all summer long.

Smells like low tide. Its super strong at first, mellows out quickly. I definitely get the floral notes as well, though marine comes through the strongest. It might be because I'm comparing it to Ivymoss by the same brand, but I don't get any woody-ness, even though that's listed as the strongest accord. I would say marine then floral for strongest accords, imo. Smelling it is definitely an experience, and it does bring me to being at the coast, so that's cool. I'm from Maine and have been to Acadia national park, which is part of the reason I was excited to try this perfume. This smells like the park in August. Very coastal, very ocean-y. Not something I want to smell like on the 'reg', but maybe as a specialty scent to wear on vacation to the east coast? Update: applied around 7am, by 10am its settled into a very subtle and floral scent with an undercurrent of sand and sun, if that makes sense. The florals are coming through more, while the marine notes have almost completely faded. Actually seems a lot more 'everyday' or 'wearable' now.

Maybe controversially, citrus never smells “fresh” to me, however the aquatic greenery and cedar paired with it is making me re-think everything. It’s soapy in an expensive marine themed mens body wash kinda way. Something with coastal cliffs and citrus trees sprayed with salt water in the Mediterranean sun. It dries fresh and clean and feels like walking off a luxury resorts private beach after a day of tanning and drinking cocktails. This suits a real masculine, well traveled, expensive someone. Again, not usually my thing but I’ve been enjoying it on me all day, pretending to be awaiting an important business call with a drink in my hand while I gaze absent minded at my stunning bikini clad girlfriend. She doesn't know about the gambling debt or that my wife is catching on. Failing to play cool and unbothered as I check my phone for the tenth time in half an hour. Anyway. A refreshing aquatic. Give it whirl!

One of my favorite takes on freshwater. The seaweed isn't very strong, but enough to know that you aren't at the beach. Evokes a warm, forested lakeshore with wildflowers in bloom; i don't think it's "murky" either; the yuzu & bergamot brighten it up, as well as the minty-ness that someone below mention. I prefer this over Coastal Veil; it's much less generic, even if not as long-lasting. Sillage is low to moderate, and the longevity low for my liking. But it's still a very nice experience that will take your mind to your favorite, forested swimming hole. Edit: after it had all but completely faded, I went outside in the heat for a while and it 'reactivated'. Doubled the longevity, even after going back inside. Your mileage may vary!

In the air it is very sharp and offensive, but on skin it quickly turns to a very natural wet dark green. In fact, it's so natural that it will negatively surprise you if you're not used to spending time outdoors and smelling nature. The notes say seaweed, but I'm specifically getting seagrass, so no hint of kelp, maybe just a little bit of algae. There is something evergreen in there as well, although I can't make out what kind of tree or bush. In winter, this gets a bit too murky smelling, but I think it the fits warmer seasons as long as you have enough confidence to wear something as natural as this.

Unisex but very masculine leaning IMO. A woman can pull this off though. There's a citrusy saltiness to it that's very unique and not quite as similar as other green fragrances I've smelled before. It merges the smell of the sea and the forest in one which I really appreciate. It's piercing and bracing, cold and crisp, marine yet earthy. Very natural smelling, a great recollection of being outdoors.

On me it was giving freshly mowed lawn at the first few hours, which I really liked. I never experienced this opening with a perfume before. As it progressed it reminded me of Viride after a while, and then the dry down was very similar to Penguin, also, considering it's an EDT it was quite persistent. I would give this a 7/10.

I think this is a unisex, more male-leaning perfume. The seaweed/aquatic note is very strong (beware). To me, it kinda smells like you are deep in a marsh at night, between the pine trees.

I live where this is based off of and it is so good. Its a forest ending in a seaside cliff covered in little wild flowers. The cottage by the sea.

Never smelled anything like it. It is fresh for sure but not like the typical freshie. 4/5. Superb longevity and sillage.

Pineward Perfumes Acadian is a fresh, green, mossy blend with prominent notes of ivy, oakmoss, juniper, citruses, and woods. It’s very authentically outdoors, like being in a mix of woods, weeds, and moss, quite fresh and alive and even a wee bit dirty, like a spring day. Very real. I’m not sure I fully enjoy the vegetal quality of it’s clearly authentic and high-quality, like pretty much everything I’ve smelled from this house’s now-quite-extensive catalogue. Acadian is EDT concentration and is priced at $135/80/50 for 57/37/17ml, sold exclusively through the house website, and I regard its pricing as quite reasonable and performance as quite good for an EDT. It projects and seems dense. 6 out of 10

This one was very strong despite being an eau de toilette and having very fresh notes. It opens with heavy marine accords coming from the water lily and seaweed, followed by a fresh citrusy yuzu. The seaweed was too much for my liking as it was very marine, very beachy, and slightly salty. You get some fresh greenness as the scent develops like the eucalyptus and juniper berry. The dry down is more wood forward with the oakmoss and cedar, but still very fresh. This one was too marine for my liking unfortunately, I’m not too huge on aquatics. It wasn’t bad just not my thing.

Like someone doused pine needles in paint. Brought me back to elementary school art class - nestled in the woods of New England, bright yellow paint, gluey newspaper. Loved being transported straight into a memory like this, but would never want to smell like it. Pungent paint, soggy paper, tree.

If you have any allergies, this isn’t for you. It smelled okay but I couldn’t stop sneezing. It made my head/face hurt and I had to take a Benadryl immediately.

Candle vibes. I swear I had a Bath & Body Works candle like 15 years ago that smelled like this. Dry down seemed similar to Coastal Veil, but a bit heavier.

This is an old house. Abandoned. Mildew. Humid. Moldy old house. The worst fragrance I’ve ever smelled.

Impossibly uncomfortable smell on first spray. It’s more nuanced than just pickles, but definitely of that realm. It honestly does elicit that mouth-watering, puckering, body not quite right feeling. There are a lot of strong notes vying for attention, and the resulting mix is sour, earthy confusion. There’s a non-feminine heliotrope in this, which is noteworthy. Seaweed, eucalyptus, and oak moss are all pretty strong in this, and they make just a real wonky odor. This perfume is incredibly off-putting for the first hour at least; I’m not sure who I’d recommend it for.

This is one for people who really like a cold and crisp/fresh character to their scents. It immediately smells spearminty, but somehow like a forest at the same time, and also has a bit of a rubbery note in the beginning. I dont get a typical oakmoss kind of note here, also Im not immediately hit with anything marine, but on clothes after i while i do get it- i think it smells like a typical calone note, but it is well blended and comes off more natural, not like an aromachemical or anything. I actually really like that bc it smells like dirty sea water but not over the top dirty or algae-like, just realistic, and its not present enough in the mix to feel gimmickily over the top like megamare or anything- theres just a nice understated realistic aquatic element in the backdrop here, Im usually not into this sort of cold freshness, and a lot of the other pinewards have a cold quality to them i dont love and comes across somewhat windex-y to me- but i actually like this and if someone wearing this hugged me i would also enjoy the way they smell. Probably a little better suited to a man, mostly bc of that dark rubbery quality that peaks out here and there, but do whatever youd like.

Dude, where is your Lime Cola fragrance on fragrantica? Head and shoulders, your best fragrance. This one reminds me of running to recover the kickball stuck in the ivy bushes back in the 1970s. You get the seaweed, you get the heliotrope, you get the eucalyptus etc. It's not something I would wear on the daily, although I would wear Lime Cola on the daily.

Woah.. just woah, it smells like a nice and beautiful forest, with even maybe a seaside next to it, the fresh wood, the citrus and seaweed is very prolific to me, very summer like to me, i would wear this on a nice summer stroll and woah its strong, im doing this review as i write this and its super strong, id say this is unisex and a 8/10

Smells like a wet petting zoo on me. I’m kinda into it. Very cottage core, it’s a cool rainy autumn day and the lake water is mixing with local vegetation, water lilies, and barn animals.
