Pas Encore Nommé

The third installment of my Pink MahogHany sample set. They’re still killing it. This one’s called Pas Encore Nommé, which translates to “not yet named,” and I gotta say, that's kinda funny, considering there’s not much mystery here. It’s actually one of the most straightforward, photorealistic scents I’ve gotten ahold of. Fragrantica lists the notes as just pineapple, malt, and vanilla. That’s it. Simple. And sure, I’ve smelled a ton of “pineapple” fragrances (Aventus, Montblanc Explorer, the whole crew), but let me tell you. This ain’t that. This pineapple? Juicy. Pulpy. Like I legit feel like someone just rubbed pineapple straight onto my skin. It’s very vibrant and realistic. It’s not the generic citrusy blend that a lot of “pineapple” frags try to pass off. This is full-blown, tropical punch-to-the-nose pineapple. Then the vanilla kicks in, but not in a sweet way. It's deep. It’s almost giving me salty chocolate vibes. I’ve noticed this same salted chocolatey accord in the other two Pink MahogHany scents I’ve tried, so I’m officially calling it. This is part of the brand’s signature DNA, and I don't mind it. The brand’s site does clarify its caramelized vanilla, which totally tracks. It’s not sugary or fluffy. It’s warm, dark, salty, and grounding. But make no mistake: the star of the show is still that pineapple. Loud, proud, and way more realistic than anything I’ve ever smelled in the Aventus family. Pas Encore Nommé is fresh, tropical, yet grown-up and complex. It’s summertime in a bottle. Definitely a banger.

This is the best pineapple fragrance EVER! And the competition isn't even close. As with all things Pink MahogHany, the notes smell like the real deal. This is truly the most realistic interpretation of pineapple I've ever smelled in a fragrance, add a heavy dose of vanilla cake and you've got a deliciously sweet combination. I purchased this to wear at this year's Golden Pineapple Fragrance Festival because I wanted a good pineapple scent and the sad reality is nothing I've ever smelled reflected my love for pineapples. Upon the first sniff of PEN, I knew I made the right choice. The crowd at the Golden Pineapple Fragrance Festival agreed. This has been a regular part of my summer fragrance rotation, but I especially love wearing it on summer nights.

I recently purchased a sample set of all the PM fragrances, and I am slowly but surely making my way through each one. On my skin this starts out with a blast of tropical fruits, predominantly pineapple🍍🍍🍍 the malt note starts to come in, followed by the vanilla. Once those notes come in, this smells like a pineapple upside down cake, and I’m here for it!! As far as longevity, this lasted on me at least six hours. The projection was moderate. I love this one, and plan to add it to my fragrance collection.

Beautiful Blend of fresh natural Pineapple and Vanilla that takes you to the beach and the boardwalk. Straight getaway frag.

*Read Edit!* I’m having a hard time with this one. The presentation, owner of the company, and overall experience was perfect. However, I’m not loving the scent as I wanted to. It’s a very confusing scent for my nose. There’s this part that’s beautifully sugary pineapple juice, and then there’s something very conflicting in there that gives me straight up bug spray. The only ‘creamy vanilla’ I get is a simmered down tick protectant spray, and it’s truly disappointing. I’m trying to let it grow on me, so this summer I’ll put on a few sprays. However, those like myself searching out the perfect pineapple upside down cake are most likely going to be disappointed. Edit; Hot weather does her much more justice, I have to say. The sugary, juicy pineapple is much richer, denser even, and lasts in the drydown how I’ve been wanting it to. I think she makes a beautiful layering perfume, which I usually never do, but this has given me some small change of heart. I love to mix it with Dossier’s dupe of Tom Ford Lost Cherry to make a sweet pineapple-cherry smoothie scent, and it lasts like no other. Pineapple upside down cake? No, but I prefer her for her daiquiri-like qualities :)
